Beer selection was OK, but then again I am a bit of a beer elitist. I was waffling between the burger and grilled chicken. Our server said lots of people like the burger so I went with it. I have to tell you it was absolutely fantastic. Stunning external char. Cooked medium rare throughout. Like truly edge to edge pinkness. Perfection. Flavor and texture of the burger was on point. The fresh cut fries I had were good, though they needed to be cooked just a couple minutes longer. They were a bit undercooked and floppy but still better than frozen. My friend had the crabcake sandwich to which he absolutely loved. My other buddy had the French dip. His only complaint about his dish was it was a little salty. Was in town for a convention last week and saw this otherwise nondescript bar had a surprising high review score. It is well deserved - this was the best meal I had all week, and everybody at my table agreed. Service was prompt and friendly, and it was a very nice dinner experience. Food was fairly quick! I think I only waited like 10 minutes after ordering!! It's a bar scene so they have some tall tables behind the bar and then on the outer edge it's normal shorter tables with booths on one side. Service was great all the bar tenders seem to work together. I was checked on by 3 bar tenders while waiting for my food and eating. They refilled my drink regularly as well! Holy cow! Hidden gem. Went for a walk with my brother to grab some pastries in the morning at the French bakery next door. This was our first visit and we were interested in their smoked wings. The waitress was very helpful with other menu suggestions and offered a lot of enthusiasm for their food. We loved her attentiveness and her menu knowledge and she's rather new within the last few months. We tried their wings with two sauces but similar flavor profiles - buffalo and buffalo w/ garlic parm. The smokiness is pronounced and creates a nice barbecue taste. The meat was super tender and they were not crispy at all so if you're looking for crispy wings, stroll on past. We also tried the Bang Bang Shrimp over a bed of peppery arugula and a giant bowl of roasted brussels sprouts that includes walnuts and gorgonzola cheese under the balsamic glaze. Not too salty, hearty and full of flavor. The sandwich was also good, but it's hard to mess up a Reuben. We had a couple beers, of which they had a pretty extensive selection. They had several TVs broadcasting various sports. But the room was filled with music which was a bit loud. I don't no where to begin. An unassuming bar in downtown Pittsburgh, nothing fancy. But the staff, amazing. We walked in , the manager saw I had a cane and move quickly to sit us. Then Naz, our server, every 10 minutes checked in on us. Listen this is bar food, but extremely good quality. When we finished they did not rush us out even though I could see people waiting . (Last visited 1/26/2022.) Hanging out in Pittsburgh for the week and I did some Yelp'ing of course then found out this place had smoked wings! Now if you know how I feel about wings, then you'll understand why I absolutely needed to try this place! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right downtown a little bit away from the busier parts is this gem. There is no private parking lot so good luck with finding a spot on the street. There are plenty of parking structures around though. The restaurant has a thin exterior profile like most downtown businesses. There are also 2 floors, the upstairs wasn't open at the time I visited. Inside has a nice rustic feel to it combined with a sports bar aura. It was quiet today, but that could be due to the open floor plan that allows sound to dissipate into the air. Service: I can't remember the name of the guy who took care of me, but he was the owner and I also got to mee the executive chef. They are great guys who are down to Earth and just want to run a nice spot for people to come chill at. Food: So I was able to try 4 flavors of their smoked wings and their Signature Salad with some salmon. I won't get into the nitty-gritty details of each thing because I really want you to try them yourselves, but everything was delicious! Smoked wings just have an extra flavor that traditional fried wings cannot replicate. The salmon in the salad was grilled perfectly and was everything I could've asked for. Value: Each order of wings can come with either 5 or 10 pieces. You'll pay $7.00 or $13.00 for the 2 different sizes. The base salad is $13.00 and it's an additional $9.00 to add the salmon, though I no longer see it on their online menu. The food is definitely worth the prices. In conclusion, I loved this place and will be back to continue supporting these guys. I love what they've created and I want to help them keep it going as well as explore more of the menu, however it'll be tough to tear me away from those amazing smoked wings. read more

The area can be a little sketchy but but the restaurant is clean and has upscale dive bar vibes... if that is a thing... I recently visited Forbes Tavern for dinner. I had an absolutely awful experience. Upon arriving the server name Holly was rude and interrupted numerous times when trying to place the order. Holly did not pay attention to things specifications I made to the food. Holly appeared irritated and annoyed when I asked for basic condiments such as mayonnaise for a burger. The experience was so awful I lost my appetite. I paid the check and left the food. Holly then yelled at me and asked if there was a problem in front of all the customers seated at the bar. I began walking out when Holly stopped me again and asked was there a problem. Before I could even make an attempt to explain, Holly began yelling that she did nothing wrong. I explained I did not have a pleasant experience and I would like to leave. Holly continued to yell she did nothing wrong. It was very clear she had no interest in hearing my perspective about her customer service. Holly argued if I can't tell her what she did wrong, that she did nothing wrong. At that point I told Holly I did not, and would not explain her deficiencies, but instead that I'd like to leave. The food was decent, but the service was awful.
