I don't do reviews for just anything, it pretty much has to be a memorable experience, good or bad. This place exceeded every expectation I came in with, from the intense cleanliness to the quality in every detail. You could smell the menus because they had just been wiped down and the table/booth was spotless. The hand sanitizer at the entrance was also appreciated. A word about the ambience: exquisite. The building itself is fully decked out with simple yet intricate artwork and is what I picture when I think of Chinese elegance. The background music was quiet enough to be soothing and meditative. The scent of the food was enough to make your mouth water and the staff was polite and informative. We were seated right away and appropriate attention was paid to spacing customers out. Timing and attention continued to be on point throughout our experience. But what you really want a restaurant to ace is (of course) the food and here again every expectation was blown away. I half expected a toned down, Americanized rendition and was pleasantly surprised by both the delicate flavors of the perfectly hot and crispy spring rolls (veg filling, yay!) AND the intensely complex palette of the entrees. The soup was outstanding, full of seafood and hit that perfect blend of heat and seasoning so that I was warmed from the inside out and my face got warm from the Peppers. But the best thing was far and away the smoky grill flavors in the shrimp mei fun-good sized shrimps were perfect, not undercooked but also not rubbery from overcooking and the delicate suggestion of curry was absolutely delightful. Bottom line: if you haven't been yet, this is a bucket list MUST do and well worth the drive to the PLU neighborhood. read more

I've lived in Parkland for seven years now. I noticed this restaurant had been closed for years. Within this last year it reopened. I was hesitant to go there because in the beginning of the reopening I barely saw any cars there. My girlfriend and I went there tonight and were wowed! The food was above excellent. Very disappointed with the food. It was bland, not what I'm used to when it comes to fried rice. The rice was just white rice with a little soy sauce on top, not authentic fried rice. The egg foo young was overwhelmingly egg tasting. For $35, I'd expected the food to taste good and be authentic, however it was far from. Do not recommend. read more

If you love Chinese food, you must visit Forbidden City for the best Chinese food ever! This is the same location as the old Lieu's restaurant, but that is the only thing in common. The menu is great; it is what you would expect but with a slight twist. Like the Almond Chicken; the sauce has a mild but slight curry flavor to it. All of the dishes are not the 'same old thing' but are a refreshing/yummy update to the traditional dishes. An example is I really like the old style of Chow Mein with crunchy noodles. Not available here. But now I've fallen in love with the House Low-Mein! I've been missing out all of these years! Even more important than the food is the staff. Very hard working, extremely professional/nice and always willing to go above and beyond to make your dining experience everything you wanted and more! No matter what day of the week or if you dine in person or order take out, their food is always outstanding and very consistent. Stop by or place an order online. We came at around 2:30PM and the place looked abandoned from the outside. When we came inside, however, the interior was absolutely beautiful and the whole place was very clean. The two servers who helped us were extremely friendly and the food was outstanding. This is the best Chinese food in the parkland area and I highly recommend others to try it out. read more

We've been coming here for months. Ordered take out until today. Good portions and friendly fast service. Everything was clean and in good working order. They have CHOPSTICKS..... and SOY SAUCE. They even brought us sugar free sweetener for our HOT tea. There menu is bigger now they're open for dining. read more

So with only 10 reviews we figured this place was either very new or people were just so blown away by it it didn't justify a review. It was somewhere in the middle maybe. Good Chinese restaurants seem to be a dying breed lately especially with COVID closing them down left and right. This place had 5 star beginning with a 3 star end. The food was good but not great and they were busy and couldn't keep up in the kitchen. That's good for them not so much for the customers. We'll definitely be back but can't see it being a regular spot for us. read more

We really wanted this place to be a good place to go for Chinese food. We used to go to House of Kee, but it's gone downhill. We were greeted and seated quickly. Restaurant seemed very clean. But the fact we were there on a Saturday night and it was not even close to busy should have been a clue. The food was awful. The only thing that was enjoyable was the wonton soup. Potstickers, egg rolls, fried rice and sweet and sour chicken were super greasy. They had a terrible after taste of old oil. The beef broccoli and stir fried vegetables were salty and swimming in butter. We spent over $100 to eat barely anything. We were supposed to get white rice with out dinner combo and never got it. And we were charged for the hot tea, which in most Chinese restaurants is complimentary. The server was nice, but that was about the only thing nice about the experience. read more

One of only two restaurants I have found locally that still has the food preparers and servers using masks. Only one server will intermittently use them due to skin issues, but will wear them upon request. Frankly, she's so fast that it probably doesn't matter anyway. Pretty good typical American Chinese food. I got the orange chicken lunch combo with hot and sour soup. The soup was pretty good (I let mine sit in the fridge and reheated it so it wasn't as thick). Chicken was really good. A bit expensive but the lunch combo is worth the $$ read more

I eat at this restaurant about twice a week. Today I met a friend there for lunch and when I got to the bottom of my Singapore Mei Fun, there was a long straight piece of black hair. When the waitress came the clear the plates I let her know about the hair. I paid the bill & my friend &! I kept talking at the table. Then the waitress came to the table to inform me that the hair was not from them but from one of us. She was rude and accused us of putting the hair in the dish. I would recommend this place for sure. Everything was good and plentiful. The only thing I would change is how hot my food was when it came out. It tasted so good I didn't mind that the broccoli beef was luke warm. I would give them 5 stars but the temperature of that one dish made it so I could not. We had ordered their family meal for my husband and I, and it was more then enough food, we will have left overs for another meal or two. Not sure what kind of seasoning was on the boiled vegetables, but they were amazing! The General tso's chicken could have been spicier, but was very tasty.
