Crab cake and Fried green tomato eggs Benny
Bethany W.

This may have been one of the best Brunches I've had in my life. The Crab cake & Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benny was DELICIOUS! The potatos were perfect! We're visiting from out of town but would most definitely come back again!

Brisket hash with two over easy eggs and cornbread

Great breakfast spot that delivers on flavor and price. I ended up eating the brisket hash with two eggs that was more than enough food and very tasty. The space is bright, and today was so nice that they opened up the garage door/windows that are behind the bar where I sat. The staff is super nice and the restaurant is a well oiled machine. I was going to talk with a manager about bringing a couple bottles of my hot sauce in to see if they'd rather do something local. I will be back because I didn't get to try their delicious looking pancakes on this visit.

We stopped by here for breakfast before the zoo. They sat us immediately, which was a surprise because there was a lot of people outside, so we thought it was the line. But our waiter was absolutely awesome and we talked through recommendation since I'm not from Colorado, This is by far the best food I ate while in Denver. It was absolutely amazing.

Looking for a place on the way to the airport as my trip to Denver came to a close, I found Four Friends on Yelp that had excellent reviews. What a find! Easy free street parking and a table available when I arrived. Service by Brenda was exceptional. She was very friendly and accommodating. It was hard to choose what to order as they had lots of yummy traditional as well as healthy/vegan options on the menu. I went with my usual craving: Huevos Rancheros. It was gigantic and had just the right amount of heat/spice and flavor. Yummers. Brenda kept the coffee refills coming and had me out of there in time to return my rental car and catch my flight back to Baltimore. Fueled by such tasty huevos rancheros, I was good to go all day without needing airport snacks. Nice ambiance here, noticeable inclusivity and positive vibes!

I thought the food was really good. I got the Bluegrass Benedict. The collard greens were fantastic and I enjoyed the biscuit too. The pork belly was cooked well but it wasn't crispy. I also had the blood Mary. Delicious. My husband and I split the beignets. They were probably the closest tasting beignets I have had outside Nola but there was a slight bitterness in them. My husband loved that but I prefer just the sweetness. I would definitely go back either way. Just fyi, there is a surcharge of ~4.25%.

This was our first stop in Denver and I am so happy we came here! The staff was super friendly and gave us recommendations from their menu. We told them that we were going to splitting both of our meals and they went above & beyond to split our meals & put them on separate plates. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and the chicken and waffles. The potatoes were cooked to perfection and were super crispy. The meal was one of my favorites from the trip.

While we had to wait for a table for about 20 minutes, it was to be expected because the restaurant is small. And it is popular! Been looking high and low for a good spot for huevos rancheros, and found one. Great flavor, and I love the crispies of the tortillas. The service was amazing. We had a different server that took our order someone else that brought coffee. Someone else to give us the bill and they just seem to have a well oiled ship there.

Hubby and I are always looking for a spot to have breakfast on a Saturday- now that's he has Saturdays free after 17 years or after Sunday church! So you know me I'm always googling or yelping because I know how important reviews are and I found Four Friends Kitchen!! This place is very nice and even a little romantic for the summer because they have a roof top to eat breakfast on and enjoy the warm weather. The service was great, we met the manager and he was nice and we talked about maybe having an event there one day! Now I ordered the chicken fingers, potatoes and a chocolate chip pancake and my husband ordered the usual: eggs, bacon, sausage and a pancake. The pancakes are huge!!! The food was delicious and my fingers cooked extra crispy! And my pancake tasted like dessert! Right up my alley!! ONE important thing to remember: you must make reservations because there is always a wait!!

I have been wanting to try this place for sometime but it's always so busy or I miss their open hours. Finally made it on a snowy cold morning and the food here is amazing. Def plan to come early as there was a wait but the wait was worth it. Lots of southern style dishes, paired with your beverage of choice. The wait staff is so helpful and amazing and the place feels so cozy. Kind of like an upgraded silver grill.

This place was awesome!!! We stayed at a hotel by the airport and we were headed back to Vail, this was right off i70, not too far, and it was a gem!! Great coffee, excellent food all served Nola style. Definitely recommend!!!

A cute brunch place but nothing special. We tried a few of the dishes on the menu, nothing really was amazing. The Smoked Brisket Hash and Eggs sounded delicious but really lacked flavor even with the red chili ranchero sauce on the bottom. The chocolate chip pancake was OK The coffee was lacking. The "Kitchen Sink" was also nothing special The location was cute and the service was fast but didn't see the small print about the 4.25% additional service charge that is not part of the tip until after the meal was over. We left and went to another coffee shop for a proper coffee right after.

That is French toast.

I haven't been here in a long time, but was in the area. The space looks the same, which is nice. The music was loud and not my cup of tea. However, even worse was two of the waitstaff were singing alone to the awful songs. Easily ignored though using ear buds. The food is where things went down hill. I had the French toast which was just toasted bread. It wasn't soaked in eggs at all from what I could tell. The sauces with it were as I remembered. I also got the kitchen sink dish. The potatoes were good, eggs were cooked perfectly, and the bisquit was tasty. The sausage was so spiced it was over powering. Overall, not the best experience and I likely won't return now that there are so many other better options. It's sad.

Smoked Brisket Hash & Eggs

Stopped by Four Friends Kitchen in Denver for a weekday breakfast and had a fantastic experience. I ordered the smoked brisket hash and a black coffee. Simple but seriously satisfying. The brisket was tender and flavorful with just the right amount of smokiness, and the potatoes were perfectly crisp. It's one of those dishes that hits all the right notes: hearty, well-seasoned, and comforting. The atmosphere inside was cozy and inviting, with friendly staff who made the whole experience feel relaxed and easy. I didn't sit on the rooftop but the indoor space was bright and welcoming. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for anyone looking for a great breakfast or brunch in Denver. I'll be back to explore more of the menu!

An eclectic menu with good service and wonderful food. We ate on the upper level which was a pleasantly cool outdoor dining area.

Turns out... they're showing off. We ordered the exact same dishes--the Sweet & Spicy Chicken and the Shrimp & Grits--and somehow they were just as ridiculously good as we remembered. I honestly can't remember the last time I cleaned an entire plate at a restaurant without eventually saying, "I'm full." Apparently, Tupelo Honey doesn't recognize those words. The cocktails were fantastic, the food was outstanding, and then we noticed something that probably should come with a warning label: a table with self-serve champagne on tap. Thankfully, we exercised the rarest form of adult self-control and didn't sit there. The Hangover Gods nodded in approval. But then we saw the $3 mimosas... so naturally we made a couple of questionable--but delicious--life decisions. As if that wasn't enough, they also have daily drink specials. Three-dollar martinis? That's the kind of math I can get behind. Do yourself a favor and give Tupelo Honey a try. The food is consistently excellent, the drinks are dangerously affordable, and you'll probably leave wondering why you ever eat anywhere else. Just remember... your willpower is about to be tested.

First, wife is a vegetarian and they had no mains other than Mac and cheese for her. She ordered the salad without chicken which was $25. They knocked it down to $22 after I asked why it was the same price without meat, which still seemed like a lot for a salad with no protein. Kids' Mac and cheese was not the same receipe as last time; it was a different noodle and seemed to be needing some salt as it was pretty bland. Unlike our last visit they did not include an ice cream for dessert. My fried chicken and waffles was ok--the breading was a bit soggy though and I much preferred the Nashville hot chicken from my last visit. If I'm being honest this was closer to a 2 star experience, but with how good the last visit was, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt they maybe tonight they were just off. We first attempted lunch at Rebel Bread's café, but they were out of most sandwiches due to a missed delivery. Leven Supply was our second stop, but they had been seized by the State due to unpaid taxes! Fortunately Lucile's is right across Alameda Avenue from Leven and we found them humming along at their usual pace. We were greeted by Brad, a particularly friendly, personable, and efficient server and soon seated in the comfortable dining room which features just the right number of New Orleans-themed tchotchkes. My girlfriend ordered Eggs Sardou which features creamed spinach, Gulf shrimp, poached eggs, and Hollandaise. She chose the jalapeño cheese grits. I had Eggs Pontchartrain with pan-fried mountain trout, poached eggs, and Béarnaise plus the plain cheese grits. My girlfriend had never been to Lucile's. She was thrilled with her dish. The spinach was particularly creamy and savory. Absolutely delicious. My meal was also excellent. Every item was perfectly prepared. I haven't even mentioned the buttermilk biscuits which are each a meal in themselves and come out at the peak of perfection. Lucile's is one of my favorites. That said, it's also pretty cramped, and the wait times can be long (sometimes even longer than quoted). One thing we do appreciate is how they've made the waiting experience more comfortable. There's a somewhat hidden upstairs waiting area that's especially nice during those unpredictable winter days, and you can even grab a drink in a tiny room tucked away on the other side of the dining area. It's a thoughtful touch that helps pass the time. The staff are consistently friendly and create a warm and inclusive atmosphere. As for the food - there's a lot to love. The Eggs Sourdou, Pain Perdu, and Bennifer standout. The jalapeño grits are another highlight. On the flip side, the Cajun breakfast with red beans and rice was a bit much- it became overwhelming after a few bites, so I probably wouldn't go that route again. Overall, the food is impressively comparable to what you'd find in New Orleans, which is such a treat to have close to home. With more Creole spots popping up around town, we're excited to explore and compare- but Lucille's has definitely set a high bar. You're in for quite an experience if you order the Sazerac- it's more impressive than any I've had in New Orleans.
