Where do I start? This restaurant is maybe 1 step above Dennys. The chicken parmesan with spaghetti tasted like spaghetti O's. The meal was cold and the cheese was hard... not even melted. Everything else was subpar as well. Would not recommend this restaurant at all. They also charge a 20% tip. Service was average definitely not 20% deserved. They had their dishwasher telling us about the appetizers and she didn't even know what they were...lol. We actually felt bad for them but knew they needed our feedback to improve. After we gave them the feedback not even the manager or the so called chef came over to address the negative feedback. This restaurant is kind of a joke. Went to dinner here around Christmas time and had a great experience. The staff start off the night introducing and telling a fun fact about themselves. Definitely different than any dining experience I've had before, but unique. They also go over the four courses, in detail, which is nice. First course was a spinach and cranberry salad. Really good dressing and lots of bacon. I'm not a big salad fan, but this was good. My wife, who is a salad fan, loved it. Second course was Lobster Bisque. Honestly, this was probably the favorite part of the meal for myself and my two daughters. It will really, really good, tons of taste/flavor. The main course was deconstructed Beef Wellington, which I think basically means the steak is outside of the pastry. It sat on top of I guess what you would call pated (not even sure that's a thing) mushrooms. This was all really good. Maybe not the best steak I have ever eaten, but very good. Dessert was a Peppermint Brule Cheesecake. This was good, but I'm not a huge peppermint fan, so that didn't do it for me. The carmelized brule on the top of it was a nice touch, though. The one inconsistency I saw was in the wine prices. The two cabs they had on the menu were $20 and $28 per glass. I only tried the $20 cab, Crown Point Relevant, which was fantastic. The $28 cab was for a wine I wouldn't consider near that price range and ratings on it aren't great. There was also a red blend that was $12 per glass for a bottle you can get for $14. And I know you're always paying a premium for wine (or liquor in general) at a restaurant, but I look for pricing that is commensurate with quality/value. The servers here were great, very attentive, very friendly. They do add a 20% Service Charge/Tip, but that is clearly stated. Overall, was a great, unique experience. read more

I wanted to love this spot. The service is phenomenal absolutely excellent, the food is ok for the price. If it was $100 cheaper of a meal I probably would have enjoyed it more. We did get the upgraded wine pairings which were excellent. The service and concept is phenomenal, I love the group dining experience was fantastic. I may try it again, on a different month. This eatery is a study in profit grabbing (12.6.24). A lovely intimate environment serves about 25 people. Restaurant was 70% capacity on a Friday ....not a good sign. Upon entering after 10 min or so you are offered some stale wine....on the house. (TYVM) Dinner at 6:45 was 15 min. late. Salad was mostly composed of nuts and 7 spinach leaves, Lobster bisque was very very salty could not eat this. Beef wellington was certainly not what is shown in the photos above but was a very cheap very leathery cut of meat the size of an ice cube covered with potato. I would be shamefully embarrassed if I served this to my guests in my own home. I wouldn't have my staff help of "4" people brag about Fourks and how glorious it is unless it actually is. I saw some customers leave before the weird peppermint cheese cake dessert--- also nothing to write home about. This place is perfect for a date night. We actually did a couples date night with 8 people in total. Reservations is needed. You won't get in without it. You can get lucky if there's a last minute cancellation. It's a formal four-course dining service and is casual. The menu changes every month and the meal is offered with suggested wine pairings. Natalie our host for the evening is so nice. This restaurant is the sister restaurant of Citizen Vine (another great place for happy hour with the girls) or a tailgate party get together before Friday night lights in the surrounding high schools for football. I highly recommend Fourk Kitchen. It's definitely on the pricier end...not to pricey but If you're on a budget save for a special occasion. read more

Hidden gem in Lincoln strip mall. Who knew Lincoln had fine dining in an unpretentious small venue next to a bike shop? I hesitate to write this review because I want to be able to get reservations, but I also want to share the experience. This is a price fixe menu of four courses for $44 that changes menu monthly. The setting is intimate and relaxed and the wine pairing a wonderful addition. The chef and staff are friendly and talk with you about the restaurant, food and wine. From the truffled popcorn starter to the port and dessert, this was like having dinner in at a friend's elegant home and that friend happens to be an amazing chef. We had a wonderful salad (see menu pic for details), followed by creamy sausage and kale soup which was simply delicious. Next came the main event - tenderloin cooked to perfection with potatoes and a spectacular mushroom wine sauce. Finally, it was double dessert, a light and creamy lemon blueberry cake, a butterscotch bar bite with a spoon of ice cream. Just enough to top off a great dining experience at a bargain for 4 courses. The food, the wine, the atmosphere will make you want to return monthly. Grab a friend or loved one and make it a ritual. WOW! Struggling to even find the words to start off this review. Fourk Kitchen blew us away tonight. We just moved to the area last week and Fourk was at the top of my list of places to try. Sadly, reservations on weekends were pretty sold out for the month until the last weekend. I took a chance and opted for the waitlist and luckily we got in! They only do one searing a night, four nights a week. It is always a set four-course menu that changes every month. The food was OUTSTANDING. Exceeded all expectations. Not one course do I have anything to complain about other than wanting more! My bf joked with the chef that he wished he could order a 30piece of the Thai green curry wings (2nd course) to go! Lol we opted for the optional wine pairing as well which made everything even more enjoyable. The prices are such a deal for what you get. Fine dining with a fun dining price! So great for a regular date night. Not the kind of place where you have to save that one special night a year to afford it. The whole ambiance is Incredible as well. Small and intimate and the team that works there is amazing. You never have to want for everything. What I really enjoyed about this restaurant was that it's a great date night location. It's small and intimate so you get a nice one on one atmosphere. I also liked the decor with the fork pictures and lighting which set a good mood. The service was also excellent with the staff chatting with us, explaining what each dish entailed, kept our drinks filled and the wait time for the food wasn't extraordinary long. The food was good, but the main chef was out and I wonder if that changed what might had been served/tasted. The presentation of the food was superb and overall good. I feel like I need to go again and try with the main chef. I do like they always switch up the menu monthly. read more

This review is a few months overdue but I am finally catching up :). I visited this restaurant with a large groups of people from work. I gotta say that the food was overall good and they offer wine pairing as well. I also gotta say that the concept is interesting as they mostly cater to couples that want to go out on a date night. So they provide food, wine and entertainment as their servers tell stories and jokes to keep people amused. As I said the concept it's interesting but it doesn't work for everybody so it didn't work for me. Some of the jokes are cheap and the fact that they use the word "fourk " as another word that starts with "f" is not funny and actually offensive. As I said some people may like it but not everyone. I am so glad my wife wasn't with me !!! She would have been horrified. Anyhow, food was good, small plates but still good. Good not great though. By far my favorite restaurant. The staff will make you feel like family. Their constantly changing menu is never disappointing, of the highest quality, full of amazing different flavors and always incredibly creative. Such a good concept. Fourk Kitchen has really embraced the number 4...and forks! Four nights a week they serve a Four course prefix menu that changes monthly. Dinner is $44 and there are wine pairings, Classic priced at $24 and (you guessed it) $44 for the Reserve selection. They were offering happy hour priced beer and wine the hour before dinner was served, at 6:30. The May menu was nicely balanced and seasonal. The chef/owner came by before dinner began and introduced himself. Then during our meal he'd announce what the next course would be to the entire restaurant. Service was good. The meal lasts just about 1.5 hours. All the food was tasty but the first and last were the most memorable for me. We started with shrimp ceviche that was fresh and bright with cherry tomatoes and an avocado purée. Dessert were perfect bites of strawberry shortcake nestled in a dollop of mascarpone whipped cream. Food was great, experience was wonderful yet I wish there were more options on Yelp to give better feedback. Yelp would be much more useful if there was a rating for food, a rating for service and a rating for venue. Without multiple attributes towards a sepatate star system where I can filter out aspects I don't care about for that particular night, it's hard to trust a star rating under 4.5 without combing through reviews to weed out the worthless ones. Service was wonderful and it's hard to find places with experiences such as this. Reading through some of the recent reviews saddened me. People reduce multiple stars for the smallest things. "Staples in the chair?", ask for a different chair. My chair (and my wife's were high backed and comfortable). People are so quick to post a bad review without really thinking of the effects of them. Many people don't consider restraunts with less than 4.5 stars. The thought put into the menu, the experience, the small venue, the great food all made this a great time. What a fun experience! There is a set menu with a set price for the month, so you know what you're being served before you get there. All of the patrons are served the same food at the same time. It's a small, cozy environment and the staff all work together to meet the needs of all the customers. There are appetizers and wine for additional cost, but not excessive. I suggest you visit their website in order to gain an understanding of their fine dining experience and concept. Reservations are hard to come across but you can always request to be placed on a waitlist. I've emailed the restaurant a few times and they have been great in responding within 24 hours or less. $54 gets you a 4 course meal - wine and beer is an additional fee. This place is a great break from the same routine dining. Food is great at lots of different places...but the experience is pretty similar. Fourk has their featured 4-course meal...and thats what you go and eat. There is only room for 25-30 people (I believe), and the feel is pretty exclusive. Fourk has great food, service, personality, drinks, and design. We enjoyed everything that was served to us, and we left full and happy. While I will say, it isn't cheap, nor should it be...yet, it isn't very expensive for what you get. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND! read more

We went to Fourk on 10/3/2019. It was their second evening serving the October menu. Fourk provides a really good, intimate dining experience. They run no more than 4 staff; usually the owner, the chef, a host/wine sommelier and a runner/dishwasher. It's a small spot and they talk about where the food comes from and the inspiration behind the seasonal menu. The host comes around each course and talks about the wine pairing. It is a very approachable "finer" dining experience with a focus on the local area and authentic human connection. October's menu was perfectly fall and featured many classic pairings updated with some modern flavors. The first dish had 3 kinds of beets - roasted, pickled and raw. I LOATHE beets and yet I couldn't eat it fast enough. The salad was so lightly dressed that it allowed all the natural flavors of this beautiful salad to come together beautifully. The rest of the meal was amazing. The pasta with butternut squash and pesto was an explosion of flavor. The third course of filet, whipped potatoes and cognac sauce had me wanting to lick the plate. The dessert was perfection, deep chocolate flavor and a nice combination of bitterness and sweetness - the faux cocktail (rice wine vodka) was delicious as well. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely urge family and friends to visit this spot for a nice occasion or just the opportunity to have a really fantastic dining experience. We visited Fourks in May with the menu being the shrimp ceviche, asparagus soup, "their version" of chicken parmigiana with pasta and stewed berries on puff pastry with whipped cream. This all sounded marvelous and we invited some picky picky friends to join us, since they were new to this type of dining concept. We've been to The Kitchen, so was familiar with how this goes, but knew this would be on a micro mini scale. I figured for $54 per person for dinner, it would be great! We did not do the wine flight as I was driving and our guests aren't real big wine people. We arrived at 5:30, not realizing you didn't have to be there until 6:15-6:30. So we opted for wine and a small charcuterie board. The wait staff were very nice and attentive. So we get to intros, F this and F that and F picture, etc. You can't be offended by this stuff anymore. I'm LOLing at the review from the guy who said he's glad he didn't bring his wife. It's light hearted and to make the evening fun and jovial. We enjoyed it. The asparagus soup was good, a tad on the saltier side, and it wasn't the bacon, but the soup itself. But it was delightful. I love soup. The shrimp ceviche I passed on to the hubby(which he really enjoyed) as I don't do seafood, but that darn fresh green chile sauce with some yummy stuff in it, was soooooo good. A+ on that. And now the chicken parmigiana (sad face looking down), I'm sorry, but this was a disappointment for me, actually for all of us. Honestly, not that i haven't been honest, yeah, it really missed the mark. A bland and small square of chicken breast with a small amount of sauce and a small amount of noodles just didn't work. I saw another reviewer mentioned it too. I was hoping for a real parmigiana with a flavorful sauce. :-(. Dessert was ok and tasty. Portions were small. I guess if you could have more, it would have been better. My husband couldn't have the pasta, so all he ended up with was the chicken. And I did indicate this when I made the reservations a month in advance. They wouldn't substitute anything for it. I felt bad for him. I know this isn't The Kitchen, but they had substitutions for people with food issues and you could have 2nds and 3rds. Lastly, since I loved that green chile sauce so much, I tried to ask the chef some questions about it, but she was in too much of a rush out the door to talk to me. (sad face looking down). At the end of the night, with the meals, wines, charcuterie and extra tip, we got out the door for $429. But, we will be back. Unfortunately my last couple visits have been very underwhelming. So much so that I decided not to join my friends for the October menu. We used to absolutely love having this option here in Lincoln when chef Paul was around, but the September menu showed a clear decline in execution. I understand using a sous vide for steak in a restaurant setting, but with no sear to finish cooking you are left with a pale gray steak with no flavor or texture. I love supporting local restaurants, but I'll be taking a break in hopes they can get back to the high bar they set years ago. read more
