Went with friends for a birthday celebration hoping for a unique experience. Well this one was. Its odd that they start out the evening introducing the staff and asking them to share with the diners what there favorite flower was? As a diner...why would one care? The worst was that the chicken was served raw. Literally. It was covered in cheese and sauce so it took a couple of bites to realize the chewy was meat and not cheese. The good news? We checked out Fourk for the first time last night and had the best time! Natalie, Bella, and the whole crew were so friendly and hospitable. Had the June menu and honestly was expecting more for the price you are paying. $54 for a 4 course meal is reasonable to me if the quality of each of the courses is consistent. We began with a salad which was honestly so tasty and loved it! The next course was this steak on bread which was really good. These appetizers to me were the best part. Unfortunately, the appetizers didn't set the bar for the main course and the dessert. The main course was chicken breast, with corn, and green sauce. The chicken was bland no real great flavor unless you had it with the green sauce it was tasty. I had to ask for more green sauce since eating the chicken on its own was kind of like whatever. The dessert which was a cookie skillet with ice cream had a super hard cookie to the point where I had to use force with the spoon to break it apart. I understand the menu changes monthly (glad it does), could have just not been it for me this time. I definitely recommend the wine pairing to the 4 course meal because this adds more to the experience that this restaurant is known for. I would recommend coming here if you want the experience and think you'd really enjoy the menu items. However, be prepared to risk spending your money on some not so great dishes. read more

Extremely disappointed, way over-priced! For the money, go to Ruth Chris. The ONLY good thing was the pork dinner. The salad was the worst I ever had, no taste, mushy, just no flavor. The ambience was fair, nothing Special, in fact it was very casual. Won't be coming back unfortunately, AND be prepared for the automatic tip included regardless of good/bad food and/or service. I'm sad to have to write this review but feel it's necessary for improvement. My hope is that it'll get figured out. We were so looking forward to this experience but sorely disappointed with the food. This was our early valentines dinner and it was expensive. I don't mind paying more but for goodness sake the food should have been excellent. Bland salad, stuffed mushrooms seemed old, the stuffing was tasty. The flank steak ok flavor but over cooked. Fourk was an excellent dining experience. The food was delicious and the wine pairing was on point. It is a great concept, doing a monthly pre fixe menu to a small group of customers. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Owner Paul, chef Tom (I hope I remembered correctly), Natalie and Bella were friendly and accommodating! We enjoyed the interaction with all of them. They greeted you in person individually and also engaged the diners, explaining the menu and telling us a bit about themselves. I highly recommend this place for a great dining experience! The food was good but not spectacular like the French Laundry. The $54 /person price for two for a four course meal ended up costing $271. We only had the wine pairing & a couple of appetizers, 2 glasses of wine. No take home boxes since serving size was just adequate. No option for a vegetable was available. I suggest you visit their website in order to gain an understanding of their fine dining experience and concept. Reservations are hard to come across but you can always request to be placed on a waitlist. I've emailed the restaurant a few times and they have been great in responding within 24 hours or less. $54 gets you a 4 course meal - wine and beer is an additional fee. Where to begin...Was looking for high end dining, somewhere my gf and I had never been. Stumbled upon Fourks while cruising Yelp and thought...why not? One limited seating dinner service 4 nights a week and 5 star reviews. Well... don't believe everything you read. $49 a person for a 4 course dinner with optional wine pairings at $24 a person. The caveat being, you don't know what the dinner is. Hmmm...ok. I'll try anything once. Ugh...let me just say, an overpriced wine list with a chicken thigh as the featured entree. I'm sure most of the patrons were quite thrilled with the "experience"...but when I overheard the host staffer tell some patrons they have been compared to the Kitchen...I truly wanted to throw up. Never ever in this lifetime will they be 1/10 the experience of the Kitchen. This truly was amateur hour. Thinking where I could have better spent my $200. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Placer County. Perfectly priced for a simple delicious meal, a quality wine and an enjoyable evening. We try to go at least once every few months since the menu changes monthly, but many go monthly or even less if they really enjoyed that months menu. The chef and owner of the restaurant puts on a great show and he does change the show and humor slightly every month to get away from the redundancy. Some meals are good portions, but do not confuse Fourk with The Kitchen in Sacramento. You will not be adjusting your belt buckle when you leave Fourk. Do not starve yourself prior to coming, but I guarantee you will enjoy the meal and you will be satisfied. read more

Absolutely loved our first experience at Fourk. Our first night included the asparagus soup. I don't like vegetables much, but this soup was delicious! Lump crab was amazing! Deconstructed beef Wellington was perfect. Dessert was not just a chocolate chip cookie. It was a warm cookie with an espresso whipped cream. SO good!! The owner/cook talks to the group in between each course. The experience was very unique and intimate. We have reservations at least once a month (twice this month) to take other friends and family for the next three months!! Absolutely love Fourk!! read more

Heard a lot about this restaurant. Menu was great, delicious. Service was okay but not great. In my opinion a truly great restaurant needs to have a combination of great food and great service. Improve your service, set standards like you do with your food. Water should be refilled, servers should ask if any more beverages are wanted, would we like coffee with dessert...that kind of thing. Absolutely loved Fourk! The ambiance is so special, and I love that Paul (the owner) was so down to earth and relaxed. I loved that he introduced his staff, also. The portions are not large but it is just the right amount of food in the end and the food was super yummy. The $24 wine flight (which is basically 1 bottle of wine with their generous pours) was so good and really accompanied each course perfectly. We will 100% be back, it's the perfect place for a date night or special occasion. I got my parents a reservation for my mom's birthday and I advised Jessica that I would love to get them a gift card and if possible a candle in my mom's dessert - she personally called me to set up the gift card, had a card at my parents table when they arrived, and even did the candle in the dessert. Loved this intimate experience.. The food was simply delicious. Each dish was beautifully plated and tasted even more delicious than it looked. We had the privilege to try the last of September prefix menu before October menu rolls out next week and it did not disappoint. Course one with the prosciutto and fig was absolutely flavorful, and the whipped mascarpone added such a touch of creaminess. Second course of spicy Italian sausage and veggie soup was just a bowl of pure yumminess. I could imagine myself sitting on a cold winter's evening with a huge bowl of this soup. It is definitely a welcome to fall kind of soup. Their main course of boneless chicken thighs was so flavorful and fork tender and loaded with such flavors that I could of easily finished off mine and my boyfriends dish. They utilized the sous vide method in preparing this dish and it makes me wonder why more places do not use this method, simply delicious. I can't wait to try next months menu and now understand why I had to wait a whole month to get in, was definitely worth the wait. read more

Fantastic restaurant experience! We book our reservations every month as soon as new dates are available. Our first experience at Fourk Kitchen was in February 2020 and we were positively amazed at every aspect of the experience. From the wonderful staff, relaxed atmosphere, and fabulous food to the "Paul's not so private stash" wine list. Even when COVID changed the venue to the patio they delivered the same fabulous experience. Everyone we have brought as a guest has fallen in love. Even my sister from New York is planning another visit around a reservation at Fourk Kitchen - she was with us in February for our first meal. So pleased that this business has survived COVID and we will continue to support them and their wonderful approach to dining. read more
