Came here for dinner. Loved the decor and the interesting art lining the walls. The menu was small and reasonably priced ( I'm comparing this to California prices). I ordered the fried oyster entree which came with steamed vegetables and rice. It included a house salad with my choice of dressing. I chose the raspberry chipotle vinaigrette. The salad was very good and had sprouts and cucumber and carrot shreds; it was not an ordinary salad. The bread roll was very good. The bread was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside; perfect with the butter provided they just came. The plate was very large. The oysters were breaded and were very small. I was surprised that I needed to salt the food because there was very little flavor but the oysters were served with a cocktail sauce. I liked the overall presentation and quality. I thought it was a decent meal but maybe it needed a serving of chipotle sauce to kick up the flavor. My friends ordered a poblano pasta, the chicken alfredo bow ties, and the lime cilantro shrimp. I had a bite of their food and it was all very tasty. We alao shared a stuffed jalapeno appetizer. The jalapenos were stuffed with cream cheese and breaded and fried. We wanted some lunch. I had the tilapia tacos. The chips and guacamole were very good. The tacos were very good as well. It came with zuchini soup. Very good! My wife had a sandwich and liked it as well. We both had desert and that was good as well. read more

We loved the environment. The food was fresh and delicious portions were plentiful. The bread they serve is so yummy ! They do not have a kids menu however they will bring fresh fruit and ham rolls and cheese which was just right for our kids . We look forward to visiting again when we go back to Kerville read more

We had Fish Tacos and Chicken Salad Tostada with wine. Honestly the soups that came with each meal were the best part of the meals. My wife said I should mention the unappetizing sewer like smell, so I am editing this review. We have had an inordinate amount of rain this week but I don't know if that was a factor in the strong odor. This is a very old part of downtown. We had lunch around the corner about a week ago at the Korean BBQ restaurant named Yeo-Bo's. They had more spice and flavor in their food than Francisco's did. We love the Hill Country here in Texas and Kerrville has plenty of good restaurants, but today, that was not a category I could put Francisco's into!! read more

To begin the restaurant was very eclectic and interesting. The collection of art on the wall, in addition to the historic building, make for a great atmosphere. The food was delicious! We had the fried oyster nachos as a starter. It sounded bizarre but our waiter sold me on it. I was glad he did!!! The chipotle sauce were fantastic. I also had the cilantro lime shrimp and the Mexican chocolate bread pudding. It was all delicious!!! The server was attentive yet did not bother us constantly. Sadly, I write this review for poor service. I wish I could be writing about the food and atmosphere. My wife and I walked in for dinner around 6:00 p.m. on 10/8/16 and we were treated with absolute disdain. We were looking for a good Tortilla Soup and found this restaurant on Zomato. Upon entering the restaurant, the first words out of the hosts mouth was, "May we help you?", not, "Welcome to Francisco's, two for dinner tonight"? I said, "we are here for dinner". The server went, "oh, okay, one moment". Please understand, explaining a persons actions is difficult, and the verbiage used does not reflect the rude demeanor of the host. Being taken back by our reception, we asked the staff if we were not dressed well enough, as they had a reluctant attitude towards seating us. We were dressed very casual and comfortable, as we are traveling across country from Washington State. After being seated, they took an inordinate amount of time to bring water. We decided to leave.... Perhaps, clean t-shirts, jeans and tennis shoes were too simple for Kerville, TX. As a born and raised Texan, I am shocked to be treated with such disrespect. Food at Francisco's is always good. Especially love the salads - and the blue cheese dressing has chunks of cheese that make it outstanding. Also - if it is not on the menu - ask for the chicken spring salad - has fruit (strawberries and other fruit) in the spring mix lettuce. The daily specials for lunch are dinner are very good - not typical Tex-Mex food because it is never greasy and corn tortillas are steamed, not fried. My son and I dined at this restaurant last night. It was such a disappointment. Our salads had warm lettuce, my chicken breast had no flavor and my son's fried shrimp was also bland. The food was worse than hospital food. PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE WHITE TABLE CLOTHS. I live in Dallas and I know I am used to better restaurants, but one should expect more from a place that "appears to have it together". This place is getting three stars mainly because of location, which is in the main shopping district of Kerrville. My husband and I ate outside and the weather was perfect. Our server was nice enough. We both ordered the specials. Hhubby had salmon topped with some kind of sauce. The salmon was cooked correctly, but the sauce and sides were nothing to write home about. I had a rib eye that came with a flauta, beans, rice, and guacamole. The steak was overcooked and everything was bland except the guacamole, which was strangely exceptional. Incredible food! We drove up here after seeing other yelp reviews for lunch on our way through Kerrville. The outside has a gorgeous seating area well appointed with pretty plants. The first thing we noticed as we walked in was how beautifully decorated with art the interior was. Our three kids spent the whole time looking at the paintings! As we were seated, we began to glance at the menu and the list of different salads/ sandwiches offered for lunch. The waiter saw our three kids and proceeded to tell us other things they could make for them that weren't on the menu. He smilingly told us he'd work with us on whatever they liked. They ordered quesadillas with chicken and cheese, and our youngest wound up getting the black bean nachos with sour cream and guacamole. My husband and I ordered the lunch specials- the chicken chalupa and the tilapia fish tacos. My children devoured their food and were excited that the waiter also served them fresh fruit alongside their meals. My chalupa came topped with very moist shredded chicken in Mexican spices with refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, sautéed peppers, and cheese. It was wonderful! I also had a cup of posole soup that was fantastic. My husbands fish tacos were also great. They were lightly breaded and crispy with cilantro, fresh cabbage, and a sauce that was excellent. He had a small cup of the tortilla soup that was the best tortilla soup we've had. I wanted to beg this place for the recipes we had just tasted...and should have since we are hours from here! I will continue to crave this place--both food and atmosphere were great and though a nicer lunch place, my kids were treated like they belonged there.
