I've been here several times and only been in Texas for seven months. That right there should tell you how good it is! The food is very good. The brisket enchiladas with mashed potatoes (my brothers favorite) is INSANE! Never even heard of this till I came here. My favorite is the Chimichanga! I ask for it without the sauce under it (just seems weird to have an Italian sauce under it, plus I like it cheesy not saucy) and with no onions. I get the chicken which is tender, juicy and seasoned perfectly. The queso is to die for! We almost always get an order of queso AND brisket nachos to take home for lunch next day. They ALWAYS give us extra chips and salsa. Koe (not sure on spelling) is the BEST waiter there! Some of the other waiters are not that attentive to the customers. Only ONCE I was disappointed in both the food and the service. The service was very slow and my Chimichanga had peas and carrots in it and was watery..odd...must have been a different cook on shift. I like going around 4:00 p.m. so not so crowded and food always good. As for atmosphere...well they leave a lot to be desired there lol. The bathroom is eh. It is kinda a hole in the wall and small. My husband and I go to Frankie's whenever we can now. It is fantastic and not run of the mill. I have had a different dish every time and never haveI been disappointed. The favorite is Pork Stew Chili Relleno Stew, PERFECT! Ya gotta go, just don't expect El Fenix...Dos Charros...etc...etc.....yucks. Absolutely love this place! From the brunch to margaritas... queso that's like butta' and everything in between, we keep coming back to Frankie's! The staff is great and location is perfect to get to from Garland, Rowlett, Wylie and more. Only downfall would be that it is kinda' small and so popular that it gets crowded fast- but as folks mentioned below, they do everything they can to get you seated quickly. read more

VERY surprising Mexican food place! Very laid back atmosphere. We've passed by Frankie's several times during prime time and always noticed a line of folks out the door waiting to get a seat. Whenever you see a place like that, you know it's better than good. On the other hand, if you ever see a place with a "Help Wanted" sign out front...keep on driving by. Today, Saturday at 2:30, we made it a point to have a late lunch there. Surprisingly, it was busy, but we immediately got a table in the room to the right of the bar. And we were promptly brought our drinks, chips and salsa which is excellent...not too spicy. Lots of great sounding dishes to be found on the menu. We ordered the spinach/jalapeno queso as an appetizer...very good! We watched the delicious looking plates coming from the kitchen to see what others were having. One gentleman had a sizzling steak that looked and smelled fantastic. We overheard him tell the waiter that it was the best he'd ever had - this 'ol boy looked like he'd had quite a few in his time so I took him at his word that he knew what he was talking about. It was a tough decision, but we ordered the brisket enchiladas (four on a plate) with an extra plate so we could split them. I broke tradition for the first time ever for my first visit at a Mexican food place in that I traditionally order the chili relleno. But this time, those brisket enchiladas screamed out for me to try them first. Two of those enchiladas filled me up (with a lot of help from the generous portion of queso). They were excellent! A definite "wow" factor. The friendly waiters always kept busy making sure our tea glasses were filled as well as the salsa. They were professional and very appreciative that we were there. The brisket enchiladas are well worth the trip back to Frankie's! But the next time we go, I'll give the chili relleno a try and let you know by updating this review. Frankie's been in Sachse, TX for a little over two years. The owner(s) and management are doing a great job with the kitchen and the staff because everyone was friendly, happy to be there, accommodating, professional, and service first orientated. Keep it up Frankie's and yall will be there a long, long time. I highly recommend Frankie's as being well worth the drive from anywhere in Dallas or Collin County...Even Grayson County. read more

We showed up last night at 9pm, which was when they closed. We were starving and had our heart set on Frankie's because the food is amazing and the staff is always friendly and attentive. They welcomed us in and told us we could get enchiladas which was fine with us because they are awesome! We also had chips and queso which was plenty! They never rushed us, just went about their business of closing and cleaning while still refilling our drinks before our glasses were empty. Very gracious staff. We are so happy we found this little gem of a restaurant and HIGHLY RECOMMEND you visit for their amazing Sunday brunch. Get there early because it fills up fast! read more

I would say Frankie's is slightly above average, there wasn't anything bad or wrong, but I didn't think anything was so great to earn more than 3 stars. We will go back and enjoy it, but they didn't stand out as amazing, the salsa is not very good. read more

We LOVE the brisket. Anything with brisket on it, brisket quesadillas, brisket tacos, brisket sandwich. Wish they sold it by the pound. Everything else is good, too. We especially like the caldo de pollo because it had nice big chunks of chicken and veggies that haven't been cooked to death. The broth is flavorful. It's good, healthy eating. And the taco salad -- julienne veggie heaven. The service is very good. One pet peeve -- they always try to seat everybody in the least desirable spot first, like right next to the kitchen or right by the bathroom, or on the patio if it's really cold. Just say "no" or even better, don't follow them when they head towards the patio. The drinks are your standard issue day-glo green margaritas. Not bad, but not top shelf either. Good news is that it's nearly always happy hour! You can't beat the food and drinks at the prices they charge. One of our favorite places to go that's close to home. read more

Decent Mexican food. Love the freebie appetizers they bring at the beginning (not sure what they're called) and the salsa is ok, food is hit and miss. It's an awesome place. The staff is wonderful. The owner is a great guy. We drive 40 minutes from Dallas because we love it so much. We usually come in with the whole family (around 10 or 12 of us) They're always packed full. Somehow they always manage to get us seated right away or a 10 minute wait at most. The food is awesome. Definitely get the queso... It's addicting. Also, their salsa is HOT (beware!) Try the brisket! Brisket anything - tacos, nachos, enchiladas, quesadillas. Was glad to see Frankie's move into the building on Hwy 78 that we have affectionately known as a local Mexican food hot spot for years..... but our first visit today was a big disappointment. The food was extremely salty; so much so, I could only eat half of my meal and didn't enjoy that. I was hoping this location would not fall into the dreaded "chain" syndrome we see time and time again..... you know the one - the original restaurant has good and sometimes great food and the second, third, etc. just falls short. Unfortunately, this one follows that course. The location in Richardson, which I believe is the original location for Frankie's, has far superior food. It's the same menu, just different chefs. I did pass this info on to our waiter and I hope he passed it on to the cooks. The old adage still rings true.... "Less is More." read more

Great food, kinda highly priced for what you get. The guacamole is super overpriced for the amount you receive. They have a couple of vegan and vegetarian options and are all very yummy! Large menu, great variety. My only other complaint is that for the fajitas, the vegetables that come with it are 95% onion and 5% bell pepper which is pretty disappointing. Honestly I saw all the great reviews and decided this was a must try . I live in Woodbridge and close good Mexican food is hard to find . My expectations may have been a little high , however I was pleasantly surprised with what they had done on the inside , a little dark but overall very welcoming and cozy . The good , the service was quick and accommodating , the chips and salsa were excellent , the food came out quickly and appearance was good . The bad , I ordered the combo fajitas which should be a staple at any Mexican restaurant , the beef tasted like sausage and had a strange texture , almost like store bought package fajitas . The chicken was a little dry and very bland . My friend ordered Victors special , the beef enchilada was bland , the chicken enchilada was almost a pureed like substance , and the cheese enchilada was so so mainly because they charged $ 1.75 to sub queso sauce instead of chili topping !!!!! For the money , $ 27 bucks plus tip and two waters , I think I'll be making the extra 10 minute drive to Chuy's or Pappasito's . read more

Service was bad from the start. We ordered queso and placed the rest of our order. They forgot the queso and I had to remind them so it showed up just before 'the main corse showed up. The chips tasted stale but the salsa was good. I ordered Chipotle enchiladas which come with beans and rice. Enchiladas were bland and flavorless. The others in our party ordered combo fajitas for two and chicken enchiladas. I tried the beef fajitas the beef was just ok. Nothing special but I make my own fajitas at home and judge all fajitas by my own. So most do not compare. BTW, the flour tortillas taste like store bought. The chicken enchiladas were good according to my friend. All in all it was good but nothing special. I was expecting the food to be much better after reading others reviews. read more

No WONDER its always packed!! I Needed some Mexican to go on a Friday night and I was in and out in about 20 .... Now at home just "YEEEES!" about their beef chimichanga! My GOSH it is so good! This visit to Frankies, I had the pork stew chili relleno which is a cheese relleno on top of a bowl of their pork stew. It was delicious and I could come for just the pork stew next time. It was next to perfection. Service was very good. This experience was a 5 star visit. It was incredible. My friend had tamales with the same pork stew and was second to none. Great job! read more
