I always feel rushed and in the way while trying to decide what I want to order. You line up, order, and pay at the counter. There is barely room between where to line up and the tables. I've been there twice and had hoped to make it a new local spot to treat myself. The food I ordered was mediocre *except* the potatoes, those are great. There is some free parking which is easier to get on the weekdays and a few metered spots close. It's not somewhere that I'll be frequenting.

Breakfast was great! An easy, five stars. The main employee which I assume is the owner was great and had a good attitude. We were wearing USA soccer jerseys and he was very excited. We were going to the game. We would recommend everything that we had. The signature croissant French toast was absolutely amazing as well as the bacon hash. The breakfast tacos were also great. You get plenty of food. It was all delicious. Atmosphere was chill.

The location and the vibes made the place perfect spot to come for weekend brunch. Could easily imagine beach stop right before or after brunch, or simple stroll at either the marina or Abbot Kinney. No wonder why it's extremely busy during weekend brunch to lunch time. Plenty of seats both indoor and outdoor, some of which could accommodate bigger crowds. The menu was long with bunch of selections available so you might take some time to prolly make up your mind. We went for one savory and one sweet dish. Starting with the Biscuits Benny, serving scrambled eggs with biscuits/scones, cubed potato wedges, fried chicken and obviously gravy sauce. I loved the well-seasoned wedges and tender chicken with nice crispy coating, but the gravy sauce was just not for me. Tad too thick and made the overall meal felt heavy paired to it. Got the Chocolate crepe for the sweet dish, but sub the strawberries with peanut butter at extra charge. Nothing special to call out from the crepe batter itself. Toppings were obviously yum cos nothing could go wrong with Nutella and PB. Would consider this bit pricey being close to $15.

We came to Fratelli cafe do breakfast on a Friday late morning. Food was exquisite, matcha and coffee delicious. The owners and staff were amazing. We will definitely come back.

2-Stack Buttermilk Pancakes, Biscuit Benny, Pistachio Latte

A Yelp find that I have been wanting to try for a few weeks now and finally made it happen. Ordered the Biscuit Benny with a side 2-stack Buttermilk Pancake. The second meal ordered was The Chicken n Waffle with a side of 2-Scrambled Eggs. Pistachio Latte as well. The service was straight forward. The ambiance was one of a trendy Breakfast/Brunch spot. The environment however was a little uncomfortable for us as we arrived. It's like we walked in and the music stopped the record scratched and all eyes were on us briefly. Made more uncomfortable by the fact one of the hosts (Jose) kept bumping into me as if the place couldn't fit the both of us at the same time. After the second such bump, I had to ask him, was he ok. He apologized and feigned not to notice. However (afterwards and to his credit) he seemed a little more vigilant toward us ensuring we were well throughout our dining experience. So, (initially) not a very welcoming crowd for certain. Food arrived and I was really looking forward to it due to the delectable appearances of all the photos of past patrons. Our meals arrived together and looked perfect. And they were well put together meals just lacking flavor in certain areas. The Biscuit Benny's Gravy was thick, and textured the way I like for a Gravy over a Biscuit, just lacked flavor. And the Fried Chicken it covered was lacking, flavor wise, as well. Nice and crunchy however mine was a little tough due to an over cook. The Buttermilk Pancakes were well cooked just lacked Butter. Initially I assumed they were buttered when prepared but if so, not very much. The Home Potatoes however were the star of this dish. My guest even ate several off my plate as well. Very flavorful standing on their own. Over all solid meal that looked great. Prepared fresh and very eatable. The Chicken and Waffles were a definite solid as well. Just lacking flavor on the Fried Chicken, but the Waffle hit all markers. I'd say this is very much so a delicious safe place to consume breakfast or brunch. Reasonably priced (we were just short of $85 for our meals and a tip). Initially for us coming in, it didn't seem so welcoming but by the time we were to leave, things seemed somewhat better, and we felt better about it all, at that point. May be we will return and explore more menu items in the future. We'll see. Gratitude and give thanks Fratelli Cafe and Staff for the experience.

Great breakfast experience. We had gluten-free French toast, a breakfast sandwich, and a 2 egg plate. Everything was cooked well, served extremely hot, and tasted great. Service was very friendly and helpful from the moment we entered. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Fratelli Cafe was a nice vibe for breakfast with friends! Very diverse menu with both sweet and savory options! The strawberry matcha might have been the best I've ever had. The prices were also pretty reasonable and the owner and employees were very kind and attentive!

What's not to love? This is one of my favorite spots Los Angeles. The food is always fresh, the coffee, Matcha, tea, pastries are divine. If you haven't had the spice mocha yet, I highly recommend it. But this review is really a huge thank you. DoorDash completely made a disaster out of my order and delivered it to the wrong place and then argued with me about it. And you all took such amazing care of me and I am so grateful. Thank you so much to Sivan and Lior for writing a wrong that wasn't even their issue to begin with. I will now be ordering solely from your app. My cupped salad was amazing and my iced matcha was perfect!!!! Thank you!!

Came to have breakfast with some friends. At nine am on a Sunday there was plenty of open parking. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted and helped to an appropriate table for our party even though it's order at the counter. I liked getting to look over the menu at the table then ordering when ready. I got the sweet and savory (waffles w eggs, sausage). I also got the spiced mocha. The food came out quickly and accurately. The food was good, although I didn't really taste the pearl sugar in the Belgian waffle... It just tasted like a regular waffle instead. Still pretty good though. My eggs were cooked perfectly and the sausage was good. The coffee was beautiful and also tasty, although it was more coffee than mocha. Overall food and service were really good and the place was clean and well laid out. They did multiple times try to clear our dishes even though we weren't ready yet. I felt rushed to get out. I'd try it again though. Maybe it's a better place for take out.

We went to Fratelli Cafe today for breakfast/brunch and I had forgotten that it used to be Cafe Buna which we loved! We were greeted warmly and looked at the menu before ordering at the counter. The restaurant looks very similar to the way Cafe Buna looked but has a much bigger menu, including a lunch menu on the back. My friend had an egg white scramble with potatoes and toast and I had the Fried Chicken and Waffle. We both had lattes and we ordered a chocolate croissant. My friend said the scramble was just okay. The waffle was very good but the syrup was way to sweet and runny and kind of ruined the waffle. The fried chicken was a relatively small portion but was pretty good. It was basically two fried small thin sliced chicken breasts. I did need to add a little salt to the chicken to give it more flavor, but overall the chicken with the waffles worked. The lattes were strong and very pretty. The croissant was the best part of the meal and I'd come back for that any time!

I came here for brunch with a friend, and we were sat outside. Thankfully they have large umbrellas out there shading you from the sun. The set up is that you go up to their counter to order your food, they'll give you a number to put on your table so they can find you to bring out your food to you when it's ready. I ordered a hot chai tea, the choco croissant French toast, and a side of turkey sausage. The chai was good, and so was the French toast, which had banana slices and Nutella drizzle on top along with a side of syrup. I'd never had croissant French toast before, but it still tasted like classic French toast. It was good, just a bit pricey in my opinion for a meal of French toast, a side, and a drink.

Cool looking busy place with indoor/outdoor seatings and enough parking spots. I got eggs benedict with steak and a chocolate/strawberry crepe. The portion was pretty good, surprisingly the steak meat was tender and not chewy at all. All ingredients felt high quality. Good price to value ratio. I would come back to try something else. Service was on point, the food was ready very quick. The only down side to me was seatings that were criminally close to each other like few inches apart. It was rather uncomfortable. Also, the wind was hitting my legs, I was sitting next to the door. Overall a good place if you find a right table lol

Avoid this place. The head server thinks his brash, sarcastic attitude is pleasant, but he's just rude and takes pleasure in being so. Also, after the cashier rang me up, he insisted on charging me more just because he didn't like that I ordered à la carte. It's lucky this place is in a prime location for tourists, because the food certainly doesn't make up for the vile management behavior. Stay clear for the quality of the food and rude management. read more

Nice neighborhood place for coffee and breakfast. Service is very nice and friendly. I had a vanilla latte and blueberry lemon scone and it was so good I basically scarfed it down!! Had takeout brunch from this place for the first time recently on a Sunday morning. It's a cozy little restaurant and fills up quickly on the weekends. Their online ordering system works well. We had a Jacksons Omelette, the Biscuit Benny, a Sugar and Cinnamon Crepe and a variety of pastries, including the big cinnamon roll and a couple of the small cinnamon rolls. The big cinnamon roll was more like a Kouign Amann and it was better than the smaller ones. All the food was well prepared and tasty. The people working there were courteous and friendly to deal with and the food was ready to go at the promised time. I'm sure we will eat here again. read more

Number #1 I loved the music playlist. We cleared off our plates. Yummy! The Beegees omlette , and the Californian omlette delicious! The sweet potatoe fries delicious! Good size portions. Coffee was nice, spicy mocha. Parking situation is good and free. The atmosphere was very nice and decorative taste was enjoyable. Clean and plates cleared out when done. The bald gentleman and all the staff were all extremely attentive and friendly. Smiled ! I have worked restaurant and they were fast in service even though there was a large group of 20 or more and the other tables were all taken. Impressive. You order at counter then sit with number, that probably expedites things. My only small suggestion is to get new bench seating covers or use some strong cleanser to remove some of the old stains on seating . But overall I'd go again . Very happy to have tried this place today. Good restaurant prices too! read more

Ideal place for healthy options they have a good large menu for breakfast ideas also a little bit for lunch, we all try breakfast dishes and they were ok, what I like is that the food in the plate is a good amount nothing huge, Staff was very nice, helpful, resourceful and fast, we order a bunch of other things that were good like the shakes, I love they were not sweet, outside they have a nice area with tables and they are dog friendly, thanks for that. read more

Absolutely loved this place! The restaurant is super cute and beautifully designed, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. I came into the store and Sivan and Samir were there to greet me! It was my first time there and im really picky when it comes to my coffee and pasteries. They were super sweet and ending up answering any questions that i had about the menu. The service overall was amazing and the vibes of the cafe were cute and a huge bonus because its only a 5 minute walk to the beach! Stopped by this spot after finding them on Yelp and wanting to try a new spot over our usual brunch go to's and unfortunately left pretty disappointed. First the good: The rootie tootie juice was great. You could taste that its freshly squeezed and it was well balanced and overall a delight. Secondly: the speed of service was impressive. We got our meal within 7 minutes of ordering. It was towards the end of the day but it's always nice when food is expeditiously served especially when you're hungry. Unfortunately those were the only really good things that came out of our visit. We both ordered iced lavender honey lattes and despite the young woman at the cash boasting the syrups were home made, the drinks were horrible. I literally could not even take more than a sip from mine. Upon leaving I saw that their machine is a lavazza. If those are the beans they're also using - no wonder the drinks were so bad. No speciality coffee shop uses lavazza beans behind bar. They're one of the darkest roasts on the market and exported, meaning they've sat on shelves for months. On top of that the food was just really lackluster. My partners Turkey sausage side was burnt and my huevos rancheros order was on top of the hardest tortilla I've ever had and was so impossible to cut - I had to request a steak knife! Furthermore both of our plates came with DEEP FRIED potatoes. Like no house made breakfast potatoes - just deep fried basket potatoes. I would understand this from a fast food perspective but any good brunch sit down restaurant should be able to spend a few minutes cooking potatoes on a grill. On top of all this we weren't checked in on once. Said steak knife was requested from a busboy cleaning a neighboring table because no server came to see how we were doing. Ultimately, the prices don't reflect the quality and lack of service in our opinion so we sadly won't be retuning. We ended up going over to Paisitas for a real coffee and regretted not knowing they also had a brunch menu because our meal felt like a complete waste of menu. read more

i love this place. i probably order grubhub every other week for sunday breakfast i've been in once and you line up to order and it's packed and busy on a sunday but you order within 10mins and grab a seat outside or inside. the food is solid and their menu has lots of options--i love the steak hash and bacon hash. the chicken and gravy was a little under seasoned one time and then crazy salted the next time-- so i always stick to my fav hashes. the manager or owner when i went was steering the ship so well and keeping his staff on task in the friendliest way. you can tell he cares about his customers and the staff! it's very very clean and organized behind the counter. read more

Came here for lunch on a Saturday and it was a little busy. The staff is very welcoming. You order at the front and they delivery your food to your table number. My friend got the "F that" bagel sando which looked good but it didn't have really any flavor so she wouldn't have gotten that again. I ordered the Chicken Club Wrap which was alright but didn't blow me away. I also got the Berry Excited smoothie which was good but I should have added some sweetener to it. Unfortunately I did get sick 30 minutes after eating and was throwing up all night..... The inside was kinda small and the chairs were hard & uncomfortable. We experienced quick and friendly service here, which was a plus. We decided to sit on the patio, but unfortunately, there were a lot of gnats that kept flying into our drinks. We eventually moved to a different table and were able to enjoy our meal, but next time I'll definitely choose to sit inside instead. As for the food, it was great overall. I ordered an omelette and it was really good. My adventure partner had the bacon hash skillet--he expected hash browns but it came with country potatoes instead. He still enjoyed it and thought it was tasty. We also shared the French toast. It was decent, but nothing special; if you're a fan of French toast and don't expect much, this is the spot for you. read more

Came here for brunch. It's a cute spot. Ordered the shakshuka. It was watery and didn't have much flavor. The potatos on the side were good, though could've used some seasoning or something to dip them in. The vibe was a little frantic - cramped seating and got bumped into constantly. Different people were checking on us, and kept interrupting our conversation. The people here are really nice, it just overall was not a pleasant dining experience. read more

I really wanted to like this new cafe in my neighborhood. I ordered the Green eggs and Ben ($18) which is eggs Benedict with spinach and bacon. The bacon was chopped and basically all fat, way undercooked. And the hollandaise was gloopy. Very disappointing, especially for that price. My family enjoyed their meals so I'll give Fratelli Cafe another chance. I just won't order the Benedict. read more

Located in a strip center on West Washington in Marina del Rey, is a nice little breakfast and lunch cafe. Dog friendly and with a large selection of treats from light breakfast to one that will keep you until dinner time. Great coffee, good service, tasty bakery and pipping hot skillet delights. Get there early, as the place fills up. Their Steak Hash is excellent. By the way, I miei amici, they have Lavazza. Quanto e bello? read more

A favorite!! We visit the Venice area for a month each year and have discovered Fratelli! The food is great and a personal favorite is the Signature Croissant French toast. Amazing! So happy they opened another location! They is parking & are only a few minutes away from the beach. There was no wait time on a Sunday afternoon. Which is lovely compared to the other location. Came in on a rainy, packed morning and assumed the food must be good. It wasn't. Staff was nice but aggressively upsold everything ("best burrito," "everything here is amazing"). I ordered the asada breakfast burrito. It came panini-pressed and smashed flat, with broccoli and broccoli sprouts inside -- completely wrong for a breakfast burrito. Flavorless and awkward. Then there was the muffin. I was talked out of a blueberry muffin into a cranberry one. It wasn't a muffin -- small, flat, soggy, squashed, no muffin top, no structure, no flavor. Just a sad little puck. Side of cubed potatoes was dry and hard. This place is busy because of hype and salesmanship, not because the food is good. Won't be back read more

Fratelli Cafe opened up their second location in the Marina recently. Established in 2008, their newest restaurant occupies the space where the CoffeeRoaster cafe used to be. We sure missed this cafe, especially post many workouts at Studio MDR Pilates. Yes, many other places have opened, but none have compared. We had a great morning repast there last week. They cater to every possible dietary need. The French Toast was yummy. So many egg dishes to choose from. We had a vegan, a vegetarian and 2 meat eaters with us and everyone was happy! I loved my shakshuka! Highly recommended. Plenty of parking! My only complaint is that my coffee wasn't strong enough which is okay for me because I usually only drink my own espresso upon awakening ;)... I am hoping it improves for those customers who will be ordering it! Welcome to the Westside! We will be baaack ;) read more

I don't really use hot sauce and I drowned the tenders in Cholula just to make it halfway edible. Literally we could have waited for the AMC chicken tenders and they would have been better, which is horrifying. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion. So many places we could have gone today that would have been a different experience, but it will never happen again. Know that they automatically add an18 percent tip and not just on parties of 6 or more.

Everywhere I ate, I would be set aside like a discarded salmon skin, or even like chopped liver some might say. I would cry after every dinner out, because the very people who fed me, did not care about me. Life was a spiral of nightmarish service, and absolute resentment for the Los Angeles dining experience. I had multiple attempts because of the life I was living, the services I was being provided. This all changed when Bridger was my server yesterday at the Bacari PDR, on June 20th 2026. A god give day I will never forget. His graceful and swift movements, his keen attention to detail, and his genuine interest in me as a customer shined through the dark clouds of ill service plaguing our city. Bridger was the most extraordinary service worker I've ever met in my life, and because of this I have new reason to live. First, we arrived around 9:15 a.m. after seeing that the restaurant opened at 8:00 a.m., only to find out that opening had been delayed until 9:30 a.m. Honestly, that wasn't a problem at all. We waited outside, and when guests started arriving, we got in line and ended up being among the first few parties seated. The food itself was good, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. My issue was with our server, Nate. I understand that everyone has bad days, and I also work in the hospitality industry, so I try to be very understanding. However, the service felt extremely cold, detached, and uninterested from the beginning to the end of our meal. I'm not expecting over-the-top friendliness or a formal introduction, but there was virtually no warmth, no engagement, and no sense that he wanted to be there. Throughout our visit, an older gentleman working on the floor (possibly a busser or food runner) showed far more hospitality, attentiveness, and genuine care for guests than our actual server did. After we had finished eating, I ordered an orange juice while waiting for some pancakes to-go. I was asked whether I wanted the juice for here or to-go, and I specifically requested it for here. I then waited approximately 30 minutes. During that time, I received my check, paid my bill (including a generous tip), and watched multiple tables that had been seated after us receive their drinks and food while I continued waiting. My server walked by several times, looked in our direction, but never followed up or asked if we were still waiting on anything. Eventually, I flagged down another server, who was very kind and immediately looked into the situation. She returned and explained that the orange juice had apparently never made it onto the screen. However, I had taken a photo of my receipt, and the orange juice was clearly listed and charged. The issue was never the $10 orange juice. Mistakes happen. We all make them. The disappointing part was that nobody simply acknowledged the mistake or offered a sincere apology. A quick "I'm sorry, that was my mistake" would have completely changed the experience. One additional observation: I was told that cash is only accepted if you have the exact amount. That's perfectly fine, but I think that policy should be clearly posted at the entrance or on the restaurant's website so guests know beforehand. Again, I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, and I genuinely wanted to leave a positive one because the food and atmosphere were enjoyable. Unfortunately, hospitality is about more than just delivering food to a table. Based on this experience, it seemed that our server either dislikes working in customer service or was having a very bad day. Either way, many other staff members we interacted with demonstrated the warmth, energy, and hospitality that guests hope to experience when dining out.

Cashier Sivan is the worst employee I've ever encountered. Condescending, rude, and incompetent. I saw her stealing money from the register but I guess that's just a reflection on the owner since he chose her to run the restaurant. Do t come here and save your money. Go to Noah's bagels. read more
