If I could give it less than 1 I would. I placed a catering order in advance and their website makes it clear that it would be handled. So the day arrives, nothing. I call the location and she says they do not have the items I ordered for catering in stock, claims only got the order this AM. Guess what I have the original order, not my problem you do not know how to manage your business. Allegedly she tried to call, yea no calls on my phone. Then she wanted to substitute the 115 plus dollars of food for box lunches. Awful service! Will never place a catering order again let alone go there. I had a wonderful breakfast at Fratellos deli right on Superior and East 12th... I went in needing something quick and healthy. I was greeted very warmly and I ordered an avocado egg white and spinach omelet. I watched them prepare it quickly... I was very pleased with the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Stopped by David's Deli for lunch recently and had the salad bar along with a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. Mimoza, the owner, was very friendly during my visit. The salad bar is excellent - she even has sliced green olives, which I like on my salad, but can never find. There were lots of salad dressing options. I found a new favorite lunch spot that is closer to my office than other options. The broccoli cheddar soup was yummy. I will be back to try some sandwiches! Recommend! read more

A regular customer, I'm usually here at least 3 times/week getting either breakfast or a lunch sandwich. There's not a huge menu, but it's appropriate for the deli's size. I'm a particular fan of the breakfast wrap, which...at $3.99.. is a better deal than Subway's breakfast flat AND it's a lot bigger. Lunch sandwiches range from $5-7 depending, but I've never been dissatisfied with anything I've ordered. Prices are consistent with real delis in the downtown area. Staff seems efficient with their use of time and counter space. The only times I have to wait longer than 5 min is when there's lots of people in line, which can happen at any breakfast or lunch rush. Every time I'm in there, either Freda or Jerry (the male cook) is always wiping or mopping if it isn't crowded. They also seem sanitary; I've never seen either of them not wear gloves while preparing or serving food. How they serve their in-house customers and prepare occasional catering orders is beyond me. A very effective team. Above all, staff is always courteous to me. Often they crack jokes as I wait for my breakfast wrap to come out of the toaster/grill. Their kindness isn't lacking, either. Once during a sub-zero cold snap this recent winter, there was a homeless guy in the deli getting some coffee. He was keeping to himself, not bothering other customers..avoiding them, actually. I saw Freda dash into the back room and come out with some pink gloves that someone had left. She walked over, handed them to him, and said..."They're not much, and they're pink...but when it's below zero they'll help with frostbite." That's the kindness and customer service I appreciate seeing. read more

I've gone here a few times for lunch during the workday. Great sandwiches, salad bar is good. Good selection of greens and toppings. The guy who makes the sandwiches is well suited for the pace of the job, keeps track of multiple sandwich orders while he's toasting, slicing, spreading, stacking, and passing. And keeps up a good conversation about sports teams. I usually dine in and watch the (few) Cleveland pedestrians. Hard to find the entrance. It's around the corner from where it says "David's Deli" in gold letters on the glass. I don't think that window even touches the restaurant. read more

I brought a friend for my first visit and then returned a month later with my sister-n-law and since the remodeling the place is so cozy. This was my second trip to David's deli. It's located on the corner of 12th and Superior in the Eaton Center building. It's a little hard to find the actual entrance which is either through the building or on E 12th. Great little place for a sandwich or a bagel for breakfast. This morning I had the everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. The bagel was very good, which is surprising because it's tough to find a good bagel in Cleveland. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and they can accommodate any kind of special order you may have (I added tomatoes and onions to it) Atmosphere is nothing great, but I took it to go. Prices are reasonable and they have free wifi. The baked goods look delicious, but I didn't have any. read more

I work in this building, so many a lunch has been eaten here and quite a few breakfasts as well. They are just under new management, which seems to be working out quite well. The crew is largely the same, with the same basic foods present--however, they lost the soda machine and have instead gained a pizza warmer... I think a soda machine would have been a lot better, stocked with some local sodas. But hey, it's not good for you anyway. The food is on the high side of medium price wise. But it is VERY high quality. Things are made that morning for the lunch specials, the veg on the cold sandwich line kept cold and crisp, the soup is served piping hot and always very flavorful and hearty. They have a wide variety of items they can prepare right in front of you. The typical deli staples like Ruben and Turkey Club are very tasty and some of my favorite items to order--when I'm not ordering the daily special, which is always awesome. The people behind the counter are very friendly and can take a joke or two after they get to know you. They also do large orders for food if you need to feed a meeting or something similar. Just give them a call ahead of time and they can accommodate your needs. The free wifi is very nice but again, I have 4G on my phone that is easily 20 times faster than it... But it is nice to use on a laptop when your taking a lunch. read more

Decent food. Overpriced and I found the staff to be very rude. The lady with three teeth it works the register is especially nasty. i've seen them drop dirty dish towels on sandwiches and they don't really wear gloves. That being said the turkey chili is good. If you want great deli food just go across the street to Al's deli - it's amazing. read more

Food is great. Both breakfast and sandwiches. However the cook is extra rude. The african american guy to be exact. The only way i can describe him since i didnt care to further ask him anything. He has a nasty smartmouth attitude everytime i have been there. Who knows if he miserable with his job or life in general but he should definitely be doing something else. I expressed the dissatisfaction just for the cashier to try to inform me "oh hes new im sorry"... Not that that should even matter but i responded with a "no mam he most definitely is not new because he had that same funky little attitude when i was here a few weeks ago but thank you. Was downtown today and wanted to grab a turkey sandwich for my lunch later. My cousin recommended David's Deli. I'd never been there and decided to try it. I walked in and was greeted by a very friendly cashier/hostess. After looking at the menu I told the cashier what I was ordering. She directed me to order with the cook and that I would pay her after I got my turkey club. No problem until I ordered a turkey club with the cook who got pissed and told me it was breakfast time. I was baffled by how rude she was, which I'm sure she saw from the look on my face. Again I have not been here before, there was nothing posted indicating what time breakfast or lunch was served, and the cashier didn't give me any indication that I couldn't order a sandwich and the deli case was already set up to make sandwiches. I stood for a second trying to decide if I wanted to order a breakfast item instead and the cook shaking her head in obvious disgust said "I haven't even sliced the turkey yet". A man came from the back and asked me if I had been helped and the cook decided to make my turkey club still skating her head because it apparently was that much of a problem. I haven't even tried the sandwich yet because it doesn't matter how good it may or may not be, I will never visit this deli again or suggest it to anyone I know. With all of the problems we have in the world who would have known that a turkey club could ruin someone's day!! I'm still amazed and out done with how rude she was.
