This place has got the best al pastor in Santa Rosa all the meats are good and I love how every bite of meat is edible unlike some other places where the meat is inedible gristle and fat. The barbacoa is some of the best as well you can't find too many places that sell barbacoa this place is one of my favorites. Well worth coming in to try. read more

This place is located on Dutton and West Third next to Dave's Market, and it's almost hard to find. The restaurant is small and unassuming. There are chairs lined up against the wall, but I don't know if you'd want to eat your tacos inside. My sister and I decided to eat outside at the one small table. This place seems more like a to-go sort of establishment (nothing wrong with that). I ordered two tacos - one carne asada and one al pastor - and then a chicken sope. The tacos were good. They're tiny and cheap, so load up if you're hungry! Al pastor was my favorite and I'd definitely get that again. My sister got carnitas and said they lacked crispiness. The real star for both of us were the sopes. Those things are AWESOME. They are the perfect combination of crunchy and chewy. The chicken was really flavorful and I'd order it again for sure. We were invited to neighbors for tacos, but it got canceled suddenly. Since we were already in the mood for tacos we pulled up Mexican restaurants in Santa Rosa. The reviews drew us to Freaking Tacos. We're so glad we followed this advice. Naturally we over ordered, but... We ordered three of each, and since there are five meat choices and a vegetarian one, we got three plates of 6 tacos on each. Oh my, did we enjoy our very late but delicious lunch. Reminded me of a taco bar in Zitacuaro, in the state of Michoacán. There you sit at a counter and there is a long grill right in front of the patrons. Small place to actually stop and eat. But the tacos are worth the stop. We got a wet carnitas burrito, 2 carnitas tacos, 1 al pastor taco, and a kids quesadilla meal for about $20. Stopped by here on my way home from a stressful day. Asked the cashier for a recommendation, and she suggested an al pastor burrito with avocado. I said okay, and I'm so happy I did! The burrito was delicious, full of goodies, and still not overwhelming! I got some salsa verde to go with it--really bright cilantro and garlic flavors with just a hint of spice.
