Cute coffee truck but they are closing soon to open an actual store which is nice. The barista was super friendly and chatty so shoutout! I got the seasonal pb&j latte with oat milk. Espresso was so smooth and absolutely perfect! I felt the flavor combinations of tahini and blueberry also worked surprisingly well and it isn't on the sweeter side at all. read more

My favorite coffee bar in Austin! And if you knew how many coffee bars I've tried, you'd be even more impressed. First, the coffee just plain tastes better. I get it, people are different and their tastes are different, but I still believe most people would find this coffee truly superior. Second, the specialty coffee drinks are creative and delicious. Sure, they can do you a regular cappuccino, a latte, or a cortado, and it'll be awesome. But try, for example, their miso caramel latte! I'm addicted. Third, the staff is super nice. They're always warm and friendly. Sometimes they work a little hard at it -- "And how's YOUR day going?" -- but better too welcoming than not welcoming enough. They have tons of options, including a 16 oz. size, every kind of milk (including 2%, oat, and almond), etc. etc. Prices are standard. Kolaches are available, though I haven't tried them. Could anything about Freewheelin' be improved? Yes, it could be closer to my house. Otherwise, no. Try it, you'll like it! read more

Freewheelin' is a little coffee trailer on Cesar Chavez. I got the Eastside breakfast sandwich that I'd heard about from others, and yeah, it totally lives up to the hype. I'd come here just for that. The drinks were great, too. I grabbed a matcha and a coffee. They've got some really flavorful, creative syrups if you're bored with vanilla and mocha lattes. When I went (around 9 a.m.), they were already out of a few menu items. Not a huge deal, probably just a supply thing, they had the sandwich I came to try, so that's what counts. And when they call your name for your drink, don't assume your food is ready, too. I did that and the guy was super nice about it, but your sandwich will come out separately. Just give them a minute, especially during the morning rush. read more

Meh, I wasn't impressed by this spot. Granted, I tried two of their matchas, which is always a hit or miss. Their coffee is probably a lot, but I probably won't be back to try the coffee. The matcha quality is definitely not the best, but the rose cardamom matcha was overpowered by the cardamom, where the matcha flavor was almost non-existent. Service is super friendly, and there are some picnic tables by the trailers to sit and enjoy your drinks. read more

Really cool coffee truck!!! It may be 90 degrees but I was craving a fall drink. Stopped by for a pumpkin latte. Really cute outdoor seating and fast service! They have a variety of cool drinks and I liked the pumpkin latte but wish it was a tad sweeter. Overall the coffee is really good though- smooth and tasty. The breakfast sandwich was also so so good. Cute little coffee truck with your basic coffee items. They have an additional seasonal menu as well. Service is as fast as the two-person crew can go which in our case was fast given that there was little to no wait in line. There are a couple of tables outside the truck and the adjacent Coral Snake had its outdoor seating open as well. Small parking lot but I mean it's Austin can't do much about that. This is an Airstream coffeeshop located in East Austin with signature lattes and a seasonal menu. All flavors are made in house and they use locally roasted coffee. I appreciated how much the flavors shine through in the lattes and they are not too sweet. I tried some seasonal items too like the strawberry matcha latte and pistachio affogato. Their summer menu will be available until beginning of September, then keep an eye out for some fun items coming for fall. It's clear how passionate they are while creating their menu. Very friendly staff, ample parking, only 3 tables with 6 chairs so more of a grab and go vibe. Tried the miso caramel warm I don't like things too sweet so I recommend half sweet or a shot of espresso added. Also, tried the iced burnt honey late which has chai vibes also good but a little sweet for me. read more

This is my little secret gem coffee shop. Never too busy. Coffee is made really well with all of the flavors made in house. They also make fresh pastries which I haven't tried but they sell out often, so I bet they are good! My fav is the honey & cinnamon latte 1/2 sweet. read more

Usually I place my order for a hot (or iced) vanilla latte, whole milk and then walk over to Granny's tacos. Literally next to each other. Anytime I have visitors out of state, it's freewheelin' coffee paired with Granny's. Great service (friendly and down to earth) , solid coffee, cozy set up. They give my doggo treats every time too. If it's busy, it usually can take a bit for your drink to be ready but I don't mind. I've had the matcha (I didn't love this one), regular coffee, regular latte - plus their pastries. I prefer this spot over a Starbucks, always. Local local local. read more

Parked on the lot of the Former Stay Gold and now Coral Snake is a vintage trailer that slings some great coffee and delivers some amazing kolaches. Freewheelin' staff are just so pleasant when you walk up to order. "How's your day going so far?", in a nice tone just resets your day before it ever begins with this team. The trailer has some small tables in the lot giving those of us a break from the hustle and bustle as cars pass on Caesar Chavez whilst you sip a delightful blend of their coffee under a large tree. Such a cute airstream with delish homemade flavors for the making of an incredible latte! They're open at 7:30 daily and have plenty of parking in the Long Play Lounge lot as well as benches to sit outside. Order a pastry - they make them all daily too! Situated perfectly next to Granny's Tacos, for you to go grab some breakfast tacos and then go grab your coffee to wash it down (or vice versa). Popped over as I waited for my tacos, and ended up getting the lavender matcha latte. SO good! The hint of lavender was just right and not too overpowering. Super friendly service and they had some other cool flavors like rose-cardamom and honey-ginger-cardamom. Definitely would like to go back and try some of the other flavors with a chai or maybe a coffee. They also had Treats for the dogs and Polaroids of them, so definitely worth grabbing a coffee and taking your dog for a walk all at the same damn time! read more

I had a delicious miso caramel latte that was $6 flat. Finally a place in the east side that still has fair prices making it possible to order an indulgent pick me up. The latte was perfect. Creamy, flavorful, not-too-sweet, iced, not watered down, and not overly milky. I had a warmed-up jalapeño cheddar kolache that was great. Idk where they source them from, but someone's definitely making them from scratch. Perfect kolache dough. Chewy, compressible fluffy dough with nice little bits of cheese skirt on the edges. We came to try this precious little spot to celebrate getting our marriage license today! Grant (the owner) was just delightful, so kind and warm and his business reflects that. This shiny truck is just off to the side of Coral Snake (formerly Longplay Lounge) and is tidy as a button. And the coffee was impeccable. My fiancé and I are both cold brew snobs, and the Freewheelin CB passes muster and then some. We are definitely coming back. I would recommend this spot to ALL my friends. read more

This little spot is as simple as they come. I arrived on my bike and the barista greeted me immediately with a smile. I ordered an espresso and sat down at their only option- a table with two chairs. Not that I minded this, I was able to watch the cars drive down the street while I finished my drink and noted that they probably didn't need another table here. It's a small airstream type of set up, nestled outside of another restaurant's space with a seemingly open outdoor seating area. Lots of space to hang out and work outdoors at this location (which works well given our current pandemic). There is no indoor seating, so keep that in mind for the hotter months. Not a ton of parking, but I went early in the morning and it wasn't too busy. Passed by it again the other day and there was a vintage market in the parking lot, so street parking only might be the case occasionally. The chai was heavily spiced, but blended well, so the flavors worked together to enhance the drink. The last half inch was undrinkable from all the spice remnants, however. Worth noting that all the items they serve in terms of food are served cold. I got a cold sausage kolache, which was a disappointing surprise, being out and about and unable to warm it up. Would I go there again? Sure, but just for the drinks. I heard someone else order a coffee drink with actual rose petals in it that sounded worth a try. Would I seek it out or drive across town specifically to get there? No. This is a nice if you're in the area but not worth the commute kind of place, at least for me. read more

Super cute airstream converted into a coffee shop! Enjoyed a rose cardamom latte and a kolache, and was entertained by dozens of Polaroids of pets while I waited. Definitely not the best coffee I've had in East Austin. The barista was very nice, but the coffee took forever to be done and no one else was there. Green tea and their mocha was not good. However, my husband said he liked their flavored cappuccino. There is one small table in their lot and they share tables with the restaurant, but all the tables were pretty dirty. Not a hang out place if you're looking for somewhere to sit down. read more

The lavender flavor was very forward and there was a hint of sweetness on the back of the tongue, so very accurate. I didn't get as much coffee flavor here so maybe double espresso if that's important to you. Friends also tried the seasonal coconut macadamia latte (they said it was nice, like a sweet nutty flavor). Really solid coffee spot with great vibes, I'd come back.
