Ordered this for lunch and was surprised by how good it is. I ordered Pasta quattro formaggi with mushroom and bacon. The pasta noodle was good. The sauce was so flavorful. Cheesy, rich, balanced. The bacon added make it that much better. The only complaint I had is it was delivered 45mins late. But it was worth the wait. I'll give this a 4 stars -recommended! Ps. I saw a lot of reviews saying that a lot of people got food poisoning. The rude guy from the restaurant answers the phone and screams at me. WE ARE CLOSED!!! Call Doordash and get hung the phone up on me. The money was taking out of my checking account. This is blatant stealing from the customer, between DoorDash and the merchant. This has happened to me before with this same restaurant, but on the seamless grubhub app. I wanted to give this restaurant another try. After the way, I was treated by the restaurant and DoorDash, I will NEVER give my business to either company. My firm used to order lunch from here regularly. However we have moved our ordering platform on to seamless which fresh basil, unfortunately, does not use. I LOVE the pastas here! It got me through my long runs and I looked so forward to lunch every time I had it. My favorite was by far the gnocchi. On some days delivery does take a while which is something to keep in mind, but it is always worth it. Each meal comes in a box and has a garlic knot and parmesan on the side. The garlic knot is warm buttery deliciousness that is perfect for soaking up all of the sauce still in the container at the end. I'll definitely have to make my way to the actual store sometime soon as marathon training will begin shortly. But to the management--- PLEASE join seamless!!!!! read more

****NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD**** (This is only the second establishment I have ever wanted to go under). ****FOOD POISONING**** Really annoying when ordering on seamless and restaurants give you a delivery time frame and they do not keep to it. To top that off, after calling the restaurant to inform them that they have exceeded the maximum estimated delivery time, I am met with HORRIBLE customer service (SUPER RUDE). The lady who picked up the phone did not apologize, only gave me attitude and a "we're really busy today" (then learn to hire more delivery people - it shouldn't be that hard. OR tell the truth on seamless for your estimated delivery time: 60+ minutes, instead of 25-40 minutes). Other restaurants at least offer to quickly call the delivery guy to figure out how much longer the food would take, but this one clearly doesn't value any repeat customers. Don't support such a terrible establishment that cannot deliver on their promises - if you cannot run a business properly, maybe you shouldn't be running a business at all. This is exactly why I hate tipping before you receive goods/services. I'd suggest instead to put $0 in the seamless tip box, and write in the delivery instructions: "If you come on time, I will tip you 20%+ in cash, but for every 15 minutes you're late, I will deduct $0.50-$1 from the tip. These people REALLY need more incentive, and seamless' pre-tipping isn't helping the matter. ***UPDATE*** Eating the food actually gave me food poisoning - which it appears isn't the first time this has happened (looking at other yelp reviews). Just like the other yelpers, I ordered for lunch. I haven't been to the location and I only ordered once, but my experience was so flawless that I feel confident giving a 5 star review. I ordered through seamless and it arrived within 20mins tops. The delivery guy was friendly on the phone and in person. I'm used to delivery guys calling and saying "food downstairs" like some sort of illiterate caveman, but this guy used full sentences and actually said goodbye before hanging up. (These are big factors, people.) I got my food and I was immediately impressed with how nicely packaged it was. My plate was on a sturdy cardboard tray and had the utensils, free freshly baked roll and a little cup of Parmesan cheese nicely packed within. I ordered the baked cheese tortellini with bolognese sauce. I take my first bite of this magnificent deliciousness and I moaned with such joy that my coworkers got a little creeped out. It was fresh and flavorful and definitely left me stuffed with only half. I saved the other half for the next day. Can't beat a two-fer deal! Definitely became a new lunch spot. read more

I've never been to this restaurant but have tried it exclusively on Seamless for some of those desk dinners where a little carb can go a long way. The first time I ordered Fresh Basil, it was intimidating to see my food arrive in a giant cardboard container, almost like I've ordered a meal for 3 and walked through the office hoisting it to my desk. For health reasons, I often try to order the lighter options on the menu for dinner. The grilled chicken breast is a great option to get the side joys like the garlic bread, which I love. For days I want more pasta, the calabrese is a light aglio olio with cherry tomatoes, without being overpowering with the garlic and saving the heavy bloat from eating cream/dairy based sauces. The pasta modo mio, chicken breast ruggantino (hearty) and chef's special veggies with olive oil and garlic make it a great cheat office dinner while still getting your nutrients and macros in balance. read more

YIKES!!!!! the first time I had fresh basils was from the Lexington Avenue location about 5 or 6 years ago. I ordered for delivery a couple of times. Spaghetti bolognese. It was always delicious and fast. Tonight I was craving pasta so badly and was too lazy to cook so I decided to order some seamless and was so happy to find fresh basil on my "pasta" search list. I was happy because I had forgotten all about this place (moved to 3rd ave now?) The delivery was ridiculously fast..literally 12 minutes from the time I placed my seamless order to my door. The food was piping hot!!! As food should be imo. I ordered spaghetti bolognese and linguini carbonara. Damn.... the linguini carbonara was so oily and had zero flavor. Tasted exactly like butter and flour and milk melted together. That's it. Spaghetti bolognese was horrible as well!! The meat was very very minced... like a beef minced mixture for use as a filling of a ravioli or a jamaican beef Pattie. This dish smelled like (vomit). Sorry but the smell is the best way to describe how it smelled. Like tangy vomit ragu. I am an oinker and It takes alot for me to complain about food. It really is that bad. Ugh... is it really so hard to make acceptable , flavorful food?? If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I'd first like to point out that if you look at my Yelp history, the majority of the places I have reviewed, I've done so because I had a great experience and wanted other people to enjoy the same thing I had. It's not often that I write a bad review but I couldn't hold back on this one. I'd like to note that this review is based on delivery experiences only- multiple delivery experiences over the course of the last 5 months. At least once a week I spend (well, my company spends) around $200 per order. I order on seamless so everything is written out in black and white. EVERY. TIME. They screw up my order. EVERY. TIME. On top of the fact that I always order by 10:30am because I know that they'll take at LEAST an hour and a half longer than their delivery window indicates, they rarely make it to me before 12:30pm and almost never manage to include everything that was ordered. And every time I've called to have them send over the items that were left out (which is every time I order since they leave things out EVERY time), the men answering the phone have been extremely rude. And then it takes another hour or two to get the missing items delivered. The only reason I continue to order from this place is because one of the higher ups at work likes one of their soups. Though I've never understood why. The food is meh. Not terrible, but not great or even good, and it's way overpriced for what it is. Save yourself the trouble. Skip this one. read more

I usually had good or decent experiences at Fresh Basil's but the past 2 times they would make ADJUSTMENTS to my seamless order and charge me EXTRA despite the fact i didnt make any adjustments that would warrant an EXTRA charge... for example I ordered the chicken breast parmigiana and I asked for no cheese on the chicken. if ANYTHING i should get a discount but obviously that never happens but instead they charged me 3 extra dollars and said adjustments. THIS COMPLETELY BLEW MY MIND! I called to complain and they apologized and took it off because it obviously didnt make sense. Another time it was similar to this i had on my seamless order no salad please because the entrees come with a salad and i rather not waste the food and throw it away since i wasnt in the mood for a fresh basil salad. they charged me 3 dollars again for an adjustment. That was ridiculous i got that taken off but after complaining to 3 different ppl on the phone. Fresh Basil actually refused to take the charge off so I had to call seamless and complain and they took it off for me. But honestly thats a little ridiculous. In the past I ordered from fresh basil all the time because it was decent quality for extremely low prices. Ive ordered their chicken parmigiana and had Alfredo pasta it was all delicious. There is good quantity for the price too. This was one of the few places i could count on to fill my stomach without breaking the bank. Fisrt caveat: I only ordered from here, and did not step into the restaurant, so this review has nothing on service (except on the delivery guy) or ambiance/decor. I ordered the salmon wrap, which is made with avocado, arugula, a cilnatro sauce... and let me tell you, it was a mouth's delight!! Amazing!! I will be getting this again and again. It comes with a side of pasta salad that can yield no complaints. Also got a side of sauteed vegetables - a GIANT helping that filled the entire tin, very garlicky (yum!), with broccoli, carrots, zucchini, artichokes, asparagus, string beans! AWESOME. The delivery was quicker than what the seamless web said, so I was surprised when the call came in in less than 30 minutes. I did NOT appreciate that the guy called me on his way in - I hate it when delivery guys do that. I actually do come down straight away when they call, so I hate waiting around in the lobby for delivery. The packaging was in this big sturdy box, which probably helps to avoid spillage, but I found perhaps a little wasteful? But I am not expert on recycling, perhaps it is all the same. At least there is no plastic bags involved. Those are the environment's pigeon! Delicious food; good portions; fast delivery, and reasonable prices for midtown E. Four stars! Italian and Mixed Cuisine When my client used to pay for lunch, I used to order from here everytime I was there. This place is really good for lunch, even though it is quite pricey and I didn't have to pay. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the portions were just perfect. The prices are good, the food is mediocre, and the delivery is way too early. When I order off Seamless Web for Noon, it has come as early as 11:08AM (???) but averages a 11:30AM delivery - by the time I'm hungry, the food is freezing cold! I've tried a big majority of the menu here (my office has them on the Seamless Web every day) - my opinion of the best are the Blackened Pork Chops when they're on the specials list, the beef barley soup, and the Chicken Caesar Salad. I used to like the 1/2 chicken, but its quality, taste, and cooking doneness varies drastically day to day. Too much left to chance! All of their pastas are good... but if I wasn't on a diet, I'd eat their Lasagna every day! Complaints? Their salads are SOAKED in dressing. I asked for dressing on the side and they never listen. They really NEVER listen to special instructions - it's as if they have everything made already. They also send their delivery people with like 20 boxes to balance. Have they ever heard of bags??
