We drive over 30 minutes to get cane juice from here even though there are a handful of cane juice places minutes from our house becuase the cane juice from Fresh Canes is that much better! It's super addicting, fresh distinct cane sugar taste, like what I remember getting from street vendors in Hong Kong from when I was visiting as a kid. The owner is super friendly too and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in his quality ingredients and process. The place is more modern than most vietnamese fruit store. Nice decor&no sights of boxes of fruit. The man behind the counter is super friendly. Possibly the owner. I decided to get the half&half as most place offer that. It was refreshing but definitely didnt have that authentic natural flavors of sugar cane& coconut. Super excited that I found my new favorite spot for a sugar cane fix... just wish it was closer! I stumbled on the listing accidentally while looking for lunch spots in the area. Immediately after eating, we headed over so I could imbibe. The menu is super straight forward and I love that they map out the customization process so that ordering was simple. I also loved that they let you sample some of the options ahead of time before making a final decision. To drink, I got the sugar cane with watermelon juice. You could add a variety of toppings and other flavors, but I wanted to get it as straight up as possible. The sizes are pretty massive, and even their regular was more than enough. A large might be good for sharing, or if you have the bladder of Paul Bunyan. The people working there are super friendly (and patient!) so feel free to ask a million questions. Was craving sugar cane juice and heard good things about their drinks so I decided to give it a try. Upon arriving, the two people that helped us out were very nice and let us sample a few choices. I think the guy helping us out was probably the manager or owner and he made sure we were satisfied before making our selection. The interior was very modern and appeared to be pretty clean. I got two drinks, the Half & Half (coconut & sugar cane) with fresh coconut and just Sugar cane with fresh coconut. Both drinks were pretty refreshing! The Half & Half wasn't too sweet and I would definitely recommend it if you think plain sugar cane is too sweet. I should have added the kumquat flavor to the plain sugar cane as it would have added the citrus taste to compliment the drink better. I got these both in the 33 oz. cup. The total of both drinks came out to almost 14 dollars, but in my opinion was pretty worth it! Would definitely come back and try the sugar cane juice with the kumquat flavor! One of the best discoveries I've had in a while, I just wish it was closer to West Covina. Upon entering you are greeted with a recorded "welcome", something I'd expect in a Japanese place. The owner was super friendly and knowledgeable about the products he says, gave a sample of most of them but ultimately I settled for cane/coconut. My wife preferred the cane/kumquat variation. I've been coming here for the past 2 years now and boy, does this hit the spot every summer! Fresh Canes is located on the border of rosemead and el monte. It's hidden in the corner of the plaza so it can easily be missed. Sugar canes are so refreshing especially during the heat waves in Southern California. My go to drink here is their sugar cane with kumquat. The sugar cane isn't too overpowering sweet yet it does hit the spot when I'm craving some sugar. My boyfriend however, since he doesn't like kumquat, gets their 50/50 drink which is half sugar cane and half coconut water. I love his drink too especially since the coconut complements the sugar cane well! It also makes his drink less sweet compared to mine so I like to alternate sipping them. Their drinks comes in two different sizes- I usually get the large and save half for another day! Don't forget to get a stamp card from them! Highly recommend this place! It's in an older strip mall full of Vietnamese restaurants and shops and it's easy to miss (I did!). Fortunately, it wasn't too busy inside and I was able to chat with the owner. He explained how he presses the sugarcane juice fresh every day and he gets the coconuts from Thailand. He is even going to try to grow his own sugarcane here in So Cal! He gave me samples of the sugarcane juice on its own and then mixed with kumquat juice and coconut water. All three were so fresh and delicious! I decided to get a regular coconut with ice to enjoy then and a large kumquat without ice to take home. He advised me to refrigerate the one I was taking home since the juice will spoil quickly in the heat since there aren't any preservatives. The sugarcane juice is still refreshing and the cups seems to have gotten bigger. However, I do agree with another review where a lot of ice is added to each cup which probably adds to how quickly the juice gets diluted. So freshly juiced with freshly cut canes vs freshly juiced with frozen canes. I thought I wouldn't taste any difference so I decided to buy a plain cane juice from this juicery and one from another juicery to take home and do a taste test with the family. 5 family members, each had two cups and did a blind taste test. Winner was this place. Comments were "It just tasted sweeter" and "You can really taste the cane flavor." So I've had plain, half & half w/ coconut, infused w/ kumquat, and infused w/ watermellon. They put just the right amount where you can taste the infused flavor and still have you taste the cane. They have new flavors, drinks w/ no ice, and different container options (25 oz, 33 oz, half gallon, 1 galloon, and many more). I come to Fresh Canes every once or twice a month. My favorite is just the original sugar cane juice with no combined flavor. I do come to try their diverse menu of flavors such as sugar cane w/ coconut, sugsrcane w/ watermelon, and sugar cane w/pina colada (pineapple & coconut). I'll eventually try everything at some point! Price is a little bit more higher than the other typical sugar cane juice but what you pay here has a good quality compared to the other sugar cane juice places. Money well spent here in Fresh Canes to quench your sugar cane cravings. Customer service is great and I got to meet to Jason, the owner of Fresh Canes. He's a nice guy and he gave me a sample of their sugar cane juice infused with coconut when I asked if it was possible to get a sample for it. I don't know if samples are limited to certain drinks so please, ask before making any assumptions! Not only that, I also got to sample one of their experimental drinks which was coffee with sugar cane juice. It was a very interesting and fun experience despite my short time there. At the end of my time there, Jason gave me a Fresh Cane's shirt out of the blue. It was very nice of him to do that so thank you Jason! I appreciate the short and meaningful conversation we had. Taste is consistent and ingredients are fresh and prepared daily. It's just really good, and healthy for you too! It's definitely pricey compared to juices you'd normally get elsewhere, but the uniqueness and fresh factor makes this worth it. He's improved the flow by juicing everything beforehand. The ingredients used to be juiced after each customer order, but the waits can be pretty long especially with how busy it gets. Now, this problem doesn't exist anymore!
