Since I was staying in Sacramento, I decided to take a short trip north to check out this buffet. It's somewhat in the middle of nowhere and connected to the Hard Rock Casino, which made it an interesting stop. I went with the full surf and turf all-you-can-eat, and there was a great selection overall. The big-ticket items included prime rib, New York steak, lobster, and crab legs. In addition, they had a small selection of Asian dishes, some fried foods, a salad bar, and a fairly extensive dessert section. The food was pretty good overall. Like many others have mentioned, the lobster meat was a bit hard to peel from the tail, but it was still manageable. The crab legs and meats were solid and satisfying. Each table had large buckets for shells and waste, which was convenient, and the servers were attentive about clearing dirty dishes throughout the meal. The layout of the restaurant was casual and spacious, with plenty of walking room even when it was busy. For the price, I thought it was a pretty good deal to have unlimited lobster and steak. I would definitely come back again. Funny enough, I noticed a lot of people bringing their own sauces, which is something I'll probably do next time.

My family had been curious about this buffet and it was a decent experience for a one-time visit. The "wow" factor that I expected for the price ($60 per person) just wasn't there. The lobster and crab were okay, with the lobster tails being a bit saltier than I would have preferred. The rest of the food at the other stations fell kinda flat and they definitely could benefit from a much wider variety of options. The dessert station was probably the best station after the seafood, although even then the quality was a hit or miss. I definitely left full, but not particularly satisfied. However, I do appreciate the incredibly attentive staff who frequently cleared our plates and offered refills.

This is the buffet at the Hard Rock Casino Hotel in Sacramento. It is only open certain times, and I was able to go there for the Thursday night "Surf and Turf" buffet, which goes for $30.99. While the price was certainly reasonable, I did have high expectations and unfortunately I found it to be just quite ordinary. They did offer unlimited crab legs. I had what looked like a nice slice of beef from the carving station, but it turned out to be very tough. The desserts were mostly quite unappealing. Nevertheless, there were a large selection of various items to choose from. It's a good way to fill up, but in my opinion it's really nothing special.

Came on Friday afternoon. I definitely recommend to come early as the line can get long. Restaurant open at 3. We got here at 135, no line. By 215pm the line start wrapping around the corner. This is definitely the place if you love lobster and crab. 57.99 pp and it was so worth it. You can get up to 2 lobster tail at a time. They don't care if you go back 10'times. Other food are ok. Ice cream lots of choices. Each table has a bucket for you to hold the shells. We got the $15 mimosa flight. They actually give you a whole full size sparkling wine bottle and a glass of juice. You have to make your own flight. It's very worth it. Definitely recommend.

I went on a Friday at around 5pm with my husband for the lobster all you can eat. It wasn't that busy and wait time was not long. Staff are nice. The buffet area is small. There aren't a lot of food options. For what they have, I think the food aren't bad. The lobsters, like every casino buffet, are over-cooked. All the different types of butter they have are flavorless. The tiramisu cakes and the cinnamon buns are really good. They're not dry. The cinnamon buns are soft and chewy. If I ever go back, it would be for the cinnamon buns, and I don't even care for cinnamon buns. Overall, I had a good experience here. The waiter came by often to clear the used plates. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough food options. After two plates of food, there was nothing else to go back for besides what I already ate.

The quality of food is like Hometown Buffet but the pricing is almost the same as Las Vegas Bellagio! Sure the AYCE lobster is justification for the pricing, but after about 2-3, I usually tap out. The crab meat was pretty enjoyable though. The food choices were mediocre - most were a little bland and not really enjoyable. Choice of entrees and dishes definitely needs a revamp.

Surf n Turf -- where is the snow crabs..barely any
    Annie X.

Surf n Turf is the worst! There were barely any snow crabs. The seafood boil was soooo dried! Barely anything else to eat.! Will not be returning to their buffet!!! It took them awhile to bring more out. Every worker just looks miserable! Not many food selections at all. I don't get it how you can be at buffet and still be hungry! Its a uhuh!

Missed Jackson Rancheria Casino's "Fisherman's Wharf Buffet" aka "Northern California's Most Beloved Seafood Buffet" - all you can eat lobsters, crabs, and other seafood (shrimp, clams, mussels, etc.). Sadly it closed down at the start of COVID (5 years ago) and never open back since! In need of a new lobster buffet. Youtube videos show this one and Koto Buffet at Red Hawk for the next available Northern CA's lobster buffets. Decided to try this one first, since Koto Buffet does not serve lobsters on a Sunday. Overall, was a very nice experience! Great customer service - very friendly and accommodating staffs! Love that you have a choice of lobsters in the half (just the tail only) and/or in the whole body served on your plate. Price currently at $57.99 per adult includes unlimited drinks (sodas, tea, coffee, etc.). A much smaller buffet place with limited items (e.g. no clams or mussels, 1 shrimp item, and 1 soup - clam chowder only) on the menu compared to Jackson Rancheria buffet. However, on the positive side, with limited items give you less distraction (from too many food choices) and more time to focus/enjoy only the best/favorite seafoods (lobster & crabs)! Will be back.

I have been wanting to try Fresh Harvest's Lobster and Crab night for a while, and finally got to go! Me and my friend went around 6:30PM on a Saturday night, and we were told we would have a 1 1/2-2 hour wait. Luckily, we got in after a little over 1 hour. The first thing I saw was their large dessert section, which I was very excited to try after getting their regular food. With the lobster, you are able to choose between the tail or a whole lobster and can get two at a time. Crab wise, you can get as much as you want. I was disappointed with the lobster as it was overcooked. I thought the crab was pretty impressive although many of the legs were hollow inside. I tried a few of the dessert options that thought it was one of my favorite parts of the meal. They had everything from cakes, fruit, ice cream, cookies, etc. With the price being $58 for the lobster and crab combo, I would rather go during their surf & turf night which is without lobster, as it's only about $30.

    Joey Y.

Meh. For the price. It's worth it only if you want lobster. There's nothing else to earn. Fried wontons. Rice. Veggie eggrolls. Pizza. Tri tip. Turkey. Ham. Those are the other options. As for lobster- only allowed 2 tails or 1 whole/1 tail at a time. They had rock crab and snow crab. Snow crabs frequently ran out. Whole lobster - often overcooked and hard. Lobster tail - of the 10 or so I had. They were cooked almost perfection. The mango sorbet is delicious and so were the cream puffs. Service. Food often took awhile to come out. Waiters did their best but just not quick enough. Had to ask for a pitcher to save the waiter time. Would I go again? If I'm in the area. Otherwise no.

SO disappointed!! I am a buffet lover! I was really craving a seafood buffet but wasn't sure I wanted to spend $57.99 for the crab and lobster but saw they had a $30 crab buffet on Thursdays so I thought this was perfect. They opened at 3 and we arrived around 4 There was no line and casino in general was quiet. The cashier was very nice and welcomed us when I told her that was our first time. Then everything else was downhill from there. The hostess tried to seat us in this most awkward corner at the end of a long table that butted up close to the nearby table of people when the restaurant was only 25% full. I asked to be more in the middle and even then put us as far from the buffet as possible. Weird. This is the smallest buffet I have ever seen! there is NO mexican food section?? even Sizzlers has a nacho bar. Selection was very sparse. If you are going to offer less items, how about make them be the best they can be? Alas no, even the salad bar was sad. The only item I liked was the polenta and ice cream but how can you F that up?. Everything was so dry! I took a pic of the chicken and dumplings that looks like it was from 3 days ago. The worst part is that an employee was manning the station and I thought does that look at all appetizing to you?? The chicken noodle soup had so much pepper that it was not edible. I looked all over nearby for a soup spoon and I had to ask. She says, its on the other side by the ice cream. Um, yeah that's logical. Lets talk about the crab! I thought it was be at least dungeoness crab but no it was the small Rock & Jonah crabs that are hardly worth fighting with. The pieces were so small and the pieces of meat just crumbled. No chunks could be pulled. I could not find the crab crackers and looked all around. There was the zippers but no crackers and very few was pre-scored. I asked my waiter and he says "they are located in the middle of the room.... unless you want me to get them for you?" Um yes please. I expected to at least have shrimp cocktail or a type of fish. Nope. Everything was pretty much frozen or from a can. Only other seafood was overly deep friend shrimp. Pretty awful overall. My husband still talks about how bad the sausage was days later. This was the first buffet I ever left not feeling remotely full. Typically I take one small scoop of everything and then go back to what tasted best. I only went back for the Polenta and fought with another round of crab just to try to get my moneys worth. Red Hawk is ten times better with a greater selection and quality of food for not much more $. I will not be back!

Arrived on a Friday afternoon at 4:15pm There are 2 lines, the one on the right is where you pay first, then you switch to the line on the left to get seated. Waited less than 10min in line Lobster & Crab buffet Lobster and crab stations are on the left when you enter Cracking utensils and butter are there also Crab: dungeness and snow crab Cut in half, Not too salty, cooked great - delicious! Lobster: whole, tail, and claws available 2 tails max per trip 1 whole max per trip Carving station for prime rib, ham, tri tip is located in the middle Prime rib was decent, enough to get your meat fix if you want a break from seafood. The au ju isn't too salty either Mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery Chicken wings were covered in an herb coating - pretty tasty Mac and cheese is mild - made with a white cheese, very creamy and a good classic base to add lobster and pepper to it for flavor(delicious) Apple crisp with vanilla ice cream - apple crisp could have been a bit sweeter but the ice cream balanced it out. The apple crisp has a good bite to it. They ran out of coffee and only had decaf available at 515pm unfortunately. Isaiah was our server, nice guy, didn't need to come around besides picking empty plates up, we're pretty low maintenance. Would definitely come back around the same time but not for awhile because we left stuffed to the brim!!! Side note: will be bringing vinegar and garlic mix for the crab lol butter is okayyy but you've never had crab till you've eaten it with vinegar and garlic. MMmmM Ambiance is casual, it's pretty loud, it's inside the casino and considering people smoking right outside you didn't smell it too badly inside near the food. The tables and silverware were also clean, as well as the bathrooms which are located right outside of the buffets entrance.

We came across three female lobsters with eggs, and although some people consider it lucky, it honestly didn't sit well with me. From what I understand, egg-bearing lobsters are typically supposed to be released, so it made me worry about long-term sustainability and potential shortages. Other than that, the experience itself was enjoyable. We requested a table with a view and got to watch the sunset while eating, which made the dinner feel extra nice. The prime rib was definitely my favorite. The crab was juicy and fresh, sushi was just okay, but the poke was surprisingly flavorful. I skipped dessert, but my boyfriend said that ended up being his favorite part of the night. I'd still come back again, but I really hope they become more mindful about the lobster situation.

We actually had a few family members back out because we were under the impression it was mostly seafood, but it turned out to be a full standard buffet with plenty of variety: pastas, salads, pizza, soups, prime rib, and more. Definitely something for everyone. Pricing was $60 for adults and $25 for kids 12 and under, which honestly felt fair because there's no way two tween girls were about to put away $60 worth of food each. I don't recall hearing about a senior discount, and if they do offer one, I wish it had been mentioned since we had two grandmas in their 80s with us, plus adults in their 50s and 60s. Me, freshly turned 29 however? I'll bravely shoulder the $60 burden. No problem at all. One thing that did work out nicely: parties of 8 or more automatically get an 18% gratuity added. Since you pay upfront when you walk in, it completely eliminated the usual family debate over who's contributing or covering the tip, which was perfect since I was treating. The restaurant itself is tucked pretty deep inside the casino, which is mildly inconvenient. It honestly reminded me of the old Fry's Electronics checkout maze where they'd route you past endless gadgets, gizmos, and candy before letting you escape. Except here, it's slot machines and gaming tables. After getting off the elevator, you walk a ways and then catch another escalator or elevator down another level or two. Maybe it only felt far because we were new to the layout, but give yourself a few extra minutes if you've never been. We were told reservations were required, though technically they aren't. There was a standby line for walk-ins, but it was easily 50 people deep while reservation holders were being seated quickly and given clear priority, as they should be. So while not mandatory, reservations are very strongly recommended. As for the food itself, the crab and lobster were salty but overall pretty good. There was one lobster that tasted a little "off" or muddy, but with buffet-style dining, it was easy enough to grab another. Fair warning though: lobster and crab are messy and take work. This is not a low-maintenance dining experience for the weak, lazy, or easily frustrated (LOL). The prime rib was solid, though not especially memorable. The mac and cheese was unfortunately bland, and the desserts were probably the weakest part of the buffet. The bread pudding was the standout dessert, and my sister swore the soft serve was surprisingly good. Overall, everyone genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves, and it felt like a worthwhile outing with family. We left full, happy, and glad we went. While I'm not completely sure it'll become a regular destination for us, I'd still say it was a fun experience and definitely worth trying at least once.

She stayed on top of refilling drinks, bringing any condiments or utensils, and was overall superb. The food, was fantastic. We got the bread basket, which came with bone marrow butter and an assortment of different breads. While the bone marrow butter was rich and tasty, the breads, while good, in my humble opinion, the best bread was the rolls you get complimentary, so you can save a few $$ that way. Ordered the Pork Belly Appetizer which was a little crispier than I expected, but rich in flavor. Everything is a-la-carte, and knowing the steaks were going to be large, wife and I split an order of Brussell Sprouts, and Cheesy AuGrautin Potatoes. Sprouts were crispy, and in a vinaigrette, absolutely great. The Potatoes were cheesy, and packed with flavor. As for the steaks, my 24 oz Bone in Ribeye ordered medium Rare was such a work of art, I barely wanted to cut in to it. I got over that feeling real quick, steak was tender, juicy and so flavorful. I ended up bringing enough home that I was able to squeeze 3 more meals out of it. My wifes Porterhouse, was just as beautiful, just as tender and flavorful. To Cap off the evening, Jaquie brought me a complimentary slice of Carrot Cake for my service anniversary and it was maybe the best Carrot Cake I can recall having (my wife agreed as she pretty much commandeered the whole slice after I had a few bites. Today, the prime rib was tough to cut and chew, even though there were a couple of big chunks of fat. It's usually pretty tender, and very good with the au jus and horseradish sauce. The asparagus was very fresh and was perfect. There were no substitutions for the dessert, and we didn't care too much for the baked berry dessert. The crust was hard, and not flaky, and not much berry filling on the inside, but the ice cream on top was very good. It's ice cream!

If you were looking to eat crab legs, I will say this place is a steal, for $25 a person you can…read moreeat as much Alaskan crab legs, that your stomach desires. There are plenty of food options here I wouldn't say everything is top quality but for $25 including all you can eat crab I think that's a great bargain. They don't have a lot coming out all at once so you may have to wait or come back to see if it's been replenished. They do have sushi here, but I'll be quite honest, not the greatest quality . Plenty of Chinese food options from calms , oysters, fried fish , beef broccoli, honey walnut shrimp, basically if panda express has it you can get it here. Most of the Asian food is mediocre as I would still choose panda express if I had the option. Service is friendly, definitely a more upscale looking Asian buffet than most I have been to. They even allow customers to purchase a to go box. I would come back here just for the crabs since I can't find anywhere else in the Sacramento area that offers crab legs besides the hard rock Casino, but that's twice the price of here.

We came here hoping for quality over quantity. The place itself is large--definitely outdated--but…read moreit looked decent enough, and the staff was kind and welcoming. It also wasn't very busy, so we wanted to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill fast once we sat down to eat. The sweet-and-sour soup was extremely oily and had an off taste. More concerning, nearly all of the food on the buffet was cold. The only thing remotely warm was the soup. When we brought it up, the server explained they were transitioning between lunch and dinner and offered for us to wait while they replaced the food. I appreciate the offer, but that doesn't excuse having a buffet--especially with seafood, poultry, and meat--sitting out cold. That's not just unappetizing, it raises serious health concerns. We chose not to stay and eat. Again, the staff was polite, but food safety and quality just weren't there.
