4 words: BEST CHOCOLATE CROISSANT EVER I have literally been trying to get to this place for the last year-and-a-half and finally managed to on a day off, recently. Loved the chocolate croissants and apple turnover. I've been in search of a good Bakery and this place is no joke for it is truly authentic. Baked goods are outstanding here. A really fresh reliably delicious spot to buy a bag of goodness to go along with Saturday am coffee. We love the madeleines, apricot danish and almond croissants but it's all good. Todays scones were a bit dry but they're usually exceptional. read more

Absolutely, a must for all your fresh bakery needs. I don't even know where to begin because everything here is to die for. Think hot fresh buns that will meet your cravings! Mocha croissant, apple turnover, blueberry muffin (my least favorite actually), lemon blueberry scone, pistachio bun, cinnamon bun were all the ones I had devoured. I was most surprised with the lemon blueberry scone because I never like scones. They are usually hard, dry, and tasteless, but this one from Frogs, I had to order another! Even the sourdough was is a highly recommend from me. The sourdough isn't too pungent and had a nice bounce to it when you tried to pull it apart. I live across the street from a Paris de baguette so when I came here i wanted to see how they would compare and I am blown away. Not only are Frogs prices more reasonable but they're pastries are sooo much better. Finally I found an almond & chocolate croissant. Idk so many places make this two breads separate. I've always felt they were a perfect combination. Also, I've never encountered such wonderful customer service. I was in awe and I will be coming back. read more

Only by chance today (Sunday) I walked by Frogs Bakery booth at the Riviera Village Farmer's Market while waiting for table at a nearby restaurant. Quite possibly the best croissant I've ever had. We were turned on to them by friends of a friend and boy are we glad we listened. I drive from Long Beach to get croissants I will try the other breads soon though. I would suggest getting there early on a Saturday morning to ensure you get your choice. read more

Frogs is so popular the Saturday Irvine Farmer's Market and there's a reason why--their pastries are DELICIOUS! The zucchini muffin and almond croissant is decadent and freshly baked. The buckwheat loaf was also my favorite and I'm excited to try their other bread loaves. read more

Came across this bakery at the Playa Vista Farmer's Market and my wife and I were super impressed with their chocolate almond croissant! I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, the croissants I got were beyond stale. Not sure if these are 1 or 3 days old... They are super greasy and the "layers" are hard to pull apart. Heads up! They sell out quickly. Was there by 9am and there wasn't many choices left. BUT what I did get was delicious! Butter croissant - the most buttery, delicious flakey croissant I've ever had! Amazing bakery making their products with organic flour. Perfectly baked items from flakey croissants to quiches and various other breads, muffins, tarts, scones etc. Very small bakery counter/lobby creates folks having to wait in line. Recommend going on the early side else they may run out what you are looking for. Once you start to know their products, you may want to place an order for pick up. My current favorites: Chocolate/Almond paste (Marzipan?) croissant, Apricot/Custard croissant, Lemon Blueberry scone, any of their quiches.... or seasonal bakes. If you go to the bakery, ask for Eliza who is usually at the front counter on the weekends and on some week days. She knows her products and can make excellent recommendations. read more

Vegan pastries, fresh and as delicious as the classic French original version. Service slow, I had to ring the bell a couple times before I got any service as they were in the back of the bakery working. I wanted hot coffee or tea as stated on the menu, but there was none available even though it was very early in the morning yeah, ambience is zero it's just a tiny walk up at their production warehouse, but there are a few outdoor tables in the parking lot to sit & eat. read more

By the time we arrived here at 11:30am, everything was sold out, but lucky me they had one tray of almond croissants that they were able to pull from the back. I bought only 3, as I wasn't sure if I would like almond croissants. But as I took a bite on my way home in the car, I regretted not buying more. They were absolutely delicious!! Man oh man, do not sleep on this place. Such delicious French pastries (my weakness) and a wide array of options with the perfect amount of butteriness, flakiness, and flavor. The lady who helped me was super sweet and helpful and the location has great parking with outside seating. They have scones, cookies, but they also have unique flavors for buns (pistachio, cinnamon) and CROISSANTS! (Almond, almond chocolate, chocolate, plain, raspberry...). If I lived closer I'd be here way too often for my health, but I'm super glad I can stop by when I can. Yummmm. Oh AND they're organic?!! Take my money. read more

I'm in my 60s and grew up eating rye breads all my life. I love rye bread. Last night at the South Pasadena Farmers market, I picked up a Frog's rye bread. I've been buying incredibly delicious baked goods from Frogs, but never loaves of bread. This rye bread is by far, the best tasting rye bread I have ever tasted in my 60+ years. Woke up early just so I could get here and get a lot of items that sell out quickly and the lady (Eliza) is so nice, sweet and patience while I'm deciding on what I want. Nice to still go places and see that customer service is top notch. So not only is the pastries delicious and have you coming back, but the customer service as well. Highly recommend. read more

Love this place. Had them at Torrance Farmers Market , then I found out about their bakeshop in Crenshaw Blvd. Location is a little bit unusual compared to those pastry shops. It's mostly for pick up and just pastries. What I do is buy my favorites and go to my favorite coffee shop for some lattes. read more

Can I give these guys 6 stars?! This is my favorite bakery in the South Bay. Why? Because they're friendly, they make great pastries and they're ORGANIC! I love that I can count on them to use quality ingredients because its so important to know where your food is coming from. This has become my favorite mother/daughter excursion, every Friday morning, first thing. We get croissants, turnovers and sourdough bread and enjoy them with our tea and coffee. Not all at once... although I have been tempted at times. I hope they stay open forever! read more

I could have sworn I reviewed this place but I'm clearly wrong. I've been visiting Frogs on a regular basis since I got everyone I work with hooked on their almond croissants! (Hehe) No one has been able to find anything that compares with theirs. It's the almond cream they come back for and I agree that if you like indulgent richness there's no other pastry they offer you should try. This is a walk up and order from a window place in a driveway with 3 auto repair shops. Easy to miss as you cruise down Crenshaw. I love that all packaging they use is made from paper. They only have about 4 or 5 parking spots, but no one stays here long so it's never proven a problem. If you want something more sedate than the almond croissant but solidly good, they make a great plain croissant that would probably turn a normal sandwich into something special. They turn that perfect croissant dough into a great cinnamon bun sprinkled with sugar if they have any left when you visit. Mom likes the scones and the muffins, but I haven't tried yet. I tried a Nutella pear turnover when they made that the monthly special but it was lacking in much filling and didn't knock me out. They don't offer a lot of savory choices. The spinach cream cheese tastes weird to me. I'm used to some blend of hard cheese like parmesan rather than something creamy and it doesn't really work for me on a textural level. I tried the ham and cheese last time and it was good, but the spinach one would be my preference if they didn't use cream cheese! (Hint hint) Based on the quality of everything they make here, the prices are profoundly reasonable. Not sure why everyone else's prices keep rising and Frogs defies that trend. This is a GREAT bakery! I'm so glad I found them! And everyone I work with is glad I found them!! xD If I could pull the stick out and order something other than what I order every time (croissant) I'm sure I'd have a lot more to rave about! HIDDEN GEM... On the outskirts of the South Bay. Wholesale, French, and organic bakery which hits the trifecta!! You have to go in early for the best selection because they do run out. Staff is super friendly and you can also pay by Venmo in addition to the usual. Although there's a couple small tables in the parking lot, this is a grab it and go place. We are here in LA for 4 days and we went to get this amazing pastries for 3 times! Very fresh and very delicious. Highly recommended.

The pastries are excellent and fresh!! The 3 stars or maybe it deserves less is the service. I've been here 2 times and no one is there to help. The first time there were employees arriving to work in the morning. So I waited and thought once they're settled they will come and help me. The guy in the kitchen saw me and I also thought well someone is coming. No, didn't happen. Finally after a while a girl came out to help. She's super nice but I just don't understand why so many people there see customers and don't acknowledge them or let the customer service girl know. Another time I went there was no one there. I made the bell ring multiple times by walking back and forth through the door and nobody ever came. I love the pastries and when the girl is there she is phenomenal but what's going on with the employees that just walk by, see the customers, and completely ignore them. read more

My favorite local bakery! The taste of their pastries is authentically French but the sizes are American :) Croissants are delicious. I love how they have a variety-- plain, pistachio, raspberry, mocha-- and they are all very good. They also have an incredibly satisfying pistachio bun. This place is small because it's an offshoot of their industrial warehouse/kitchen, but I'm glad they have opened this small window to the public to buy pastries! Check it out, you'll be back regularly. I wish they have a loyalty program because I'm always there and it's good to earn points for future goodies! Parking lot is small but I always find parking since people leave quickly. If you can't find any, you can do street parking on Crenshaw. read more
