Truly a hidden gem within the suburbs of Aspen Hill/Rockville. There's a reason why this place has all the accolades that it does - it doesn't disappoint! I've been here multiple times and have tried almost all of their sandwiches at this point. None of them have ever disappointed - they're all SUPER good. The best of the best, in my opinion, are the roast beef & cheddar, french dip, my thai, chipotle bbq beef, and the newly-added aloha chicken. Around $13 each, they come with chips to complete your meal. Sure, it's a little more than your average sandwich, but it's because the quality here is UNREAL. Along with the sandwiches, I've also tried the wings. They're crispy and tender, and the old bay and bbq flavors are SO good. Highly recommend. The staff are super friendly, and this is truly one of the few bar spots that I enjoy dining at. The spot is decently sized. There are many 15 - 20 small tables in here that can fit 4 people, along with roughly 8 bar seats. It can get tight, especially during prime meal hours. Because of that, I've typically gotten to-go, which doesn't hurt the quality of my meals at all. Parking is tough - it's in the same plaza as the Big Greek Cafe, and the parking lot is super small. Only 1 car can get in and out of the lot at a time. There's a small parking lot around the back of the building, just be sure to not park at the plaza across the street. Full On sits tucked away in a small shopping center amongst other restaurants and businesses. It's right at the intersection of Norbeck and Georgia Ave. The parking can get pretty tricky as there is very limited parking. I also didn't see street parking, so you may have to get creative. I honestly didn't expect that much from this place, but was pleasantly surprised when the service and food were outstanding. To start, I ordered an apple cider sangria and my friend ordered a stout. I've never had an apple cider sangria before and thought that it'd be too sweet, but it was actually really good and just the perfect sweetness. Out of the three sangria choices (white, red, or apple cider), the apple cider was the least sweet. Naturally I went for that one and I'm so glad I did. I think it may be a seasonal drink though, so get it while you can! I saw a lot of other people get it too. For appetizers, we got wings with mumbo sauce and spicy thai. The wings were a decent size and the sauces were sooooooo good. I personally liked the spicy thai more, but both were fantastic. For food, I ordered a club sandwich on a gluten free bun, which also came with chips. They roast their meats in-house! The sandwich was a good size, meat was flavorful, and the garlic mayo worked so well with everything inside the sandwich. I was blown away by how much I could customize the sandwich and was encouraged by Tia (our server's) enthusiasm for making my sandwich to my liking. Which brings me to my next point...the customer service was excellent. Tia made sure we were taken care of and made us feel at home. Her cheerfulness and enthusiasm just made our dining experience that much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend stopping in for lunch if you get the chance. Although small, this place is perfect for a date. It's cozy and the noise level (even at full capacity) is kept at a minimum so you're not yelling across the table to talk to your friend/date. I tried them for carry out. I had the chicken salad sandwich. The flavors were spot on. However, there was too much mayo. I upgraded from chips to onion rings, which was a good move. My wife chose the turkey avocado. I liked the herb mayo- not too heavy on this one. She subbed out the pepper jack for Swiss cheese. I like their flexibility. The turkey was high quality, and the portion was generous. I would have preferred a hard crusted roll to the soft crust they use. On this one, we upgraded from chips to a salad. When I'm looking for a sweet carb galore, this is my go to spot. I'm a vegetarian so a proper sandwich is difficult to come by. I've been going here for years because my parents live down the street and I will say that Cauliflower sandwich has gotten better with time. I think they added cheese? Not sure, but damn. Tonight we had a great date night at Full On. We walked in and were surprised to see how small it was! Thus, we had to wait about ten minutes which wasn't a big deal since they have a bar. Most of their beers are a can or a bottle but they had Some of my favorites on draft. The atmosphere was right up my alley with beautiful plants in the window and a rustic/brewery feel. My wife, who is VERY picky, loved the Ruby because the turkey was carved by them, not deli turkey. Not very thick like my sandwich, but she doesn't like thick sandwiches so perfect. Gosh I've been dying to get back here! Was planning to be in the area so I checked in with the yelpers to help find us a spot to eat. It was a Sunday, and there was a wait. Before you ask, no - they do not take reservations...it's just not that type of space. In fact, let's talk about the location. They are located in I guess what you would consider a small strip mall...maybe. Basically they are connected to about 5 or 6 other businesses. The parking lot, as they mention on their website, is super cramped. You kinda have to hang around and stalk your prey (the owner of any car you're waiting to move) or just go park across the street. For us, we decided to stalk. Once you enter the restaurant you are greeted with about 4-5 waiting chairs, and some pretty cool staff who are rocking and rolling with hungry guest waiting to eat. The wait wasn't that bad, but we also weren't starving...waiting with your stomach growling makes waiting seem longer, right?! Anyway... That glorious moment when our name was called and we were seated. We both ordered the house sangria that we equally loved. I got the cauliflower sandwich....let me tell you, first bite I was all in! Everything from the bread to the amazing cauliflower concoction that was filled between those lovely slices were my tastebuds oasis. I pulled the sandwich back and stared at it with what felt like dreamy eyes thinking to myself this...this is my true love...she's been here all this time, in Rockville waiting for me! It's always fun finding new places around town to grab a beer and some great food :) We actually found this place because of the Yelp Hidden Gems game, so I held off on writing the review until week 1 had ended so as not to spoil week 1. After our first visit, my fiancee and I made a point to come back the very next day with a couple more friends. Full On is just the place for that, with a menu that is vastly sandwich-based and tons of great local beers. Everything is made in-house, including the chips with every sandwich. There are only 4 beers on tap, which was a little disappointing, but all 4 were very different from one another when I visited - something I assume was done on purpose. After trying all 4 of those, we switched to a couple bottles for more variety. One thing I liked was that all the beers were from the mid-Atlantic region and are relatively local. Over the 2 visits, we tried the spicy chicken, chipotle BBQ pork, and the turkey avocado sandwiches, along with some wings (Thai and Buffalo). The BBQ Pork was my favorite, but all the food and sauces were delicious. The staff was also incredibly friendly. My phone was dead on my first visit, and without my asking, they offered to charge it behind the counter for me (I had a cable, but no power USB converter for the wall). The owner, Julie, also stopped by and talked with us for a while, even discussing the possibility of having our wedding rehearsal dinner catered by them. Our servers between the two nights, Jesse and Sean, were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable and never left us hanging. They had good suggestions for beers to try as well. Other employees stopped and talked with us too (specifically about the Hidden Gems), but I didn't catch their names. Parking was a little bit tough, as many others have mentioned, but either park a little further away or wait for a spot to open up. We were lucky and got the last available space both nights we came by. Pricing wasn't bad either, with beers around $6-6.50 and sandwiches in the $9-12 range. Such a great comfort food place. The reviews are true... the grilled cheese crab cake sandwich is the go-to. I've tried a few sandwiches, and this is definitely my favorite! All the flavors work so well together. The meatball sandwich is good, too! The crunchiness also adds texture. Adding onion rings to this sandwich is... just do it. It's $1.50 extra, though. All sandwiches come with chips and dip... which is their own recipe and so, so good! Overall, this is a nice place to go to for eats at any time of the day. However, parking really sucks. You just have to be lucky that someone's leaving. They also show the major sport game on (there's only one tv), so it's a good place to grab a drink and watch your teams play. read more

This is a new restaurant, I believe owned by the same people who own Dogfish Head. I was able to try the pork roast sandwich, roast beef sandwich and french dip sandwich. They cut their own meat here. Cut in the morning, gone by the end of the day, I believe. So at least you know the meat is fresh. The roast beef cheddar was my favorite but I think it's because I enjoyed the added touch of coleslaw (could use more cheddar though). The other two were so-so. The french dip dipping sauce was good but the actual meats on all the sandwiches could use more flavor or maybe just some sodium, lol. It would also help to either add more meat, or serve them on smaller bread because the ratio ended up being majority bread each bite. It takes away from enjoying the meat that is already lacking. As I was writing this review, I got a text that said the crabcake grilled cheese was really great from 2 different people. I guess I'll have to go back and try that. They just opened this week so this review might not be relevant by the time you read it. Every good new business makes changes in their opening month. Our server was really nice, and she checked up on us quite often to make sure everything was okay. Parking here is the worst though. The place next door brings in a lot of business for their non-existent parking lot... I also find it pretty weird to have a bar but close at 10 on weekends... What fun is that? haha **Update** Returned to try the crabcake grilled cheese. It was definitely better than the other sandwiches that I had tried here. Pretty decent sandwiches! Boyfriend and I got the roast beef and horseradish and the french dip. Loved the kick of the horseradish on the sandwich. The roast beef was yummy, moist. Loved the bread on the french dip - thick and squishy, and holds up for dipping in au ju. Meat on the french dip was pretty good, and but I think the real flavor comes from dipping. The sandwiches come with homemade chips- maybe I just wasn't in the mood for chips - and these were good chips - thicker cut home made chips, but I just didn't really feel like eating them. Kind of over salted for my tastes too. Spacing could get a little cramped, but I loved their contemporary rustic look. Parking can sort of be hard (if you go to big greek cafe next door, you're familiar with the lack of parking.) But I definitely want to come back and try more sandwiches like the turkey and avocado! Great place for sandwiches and beer! I recommend getting their Crab Cake Grilled Cheese, which was very scrumptious! However, there was too much remoulade when I got it. Better to ask them to lighten up or put it on the side. I've also had the Roast Beef and Cheddar sandwich (and requested avocado for $1 more). This was good too. However, the spicy Chipotle sauce was a little too spicy for me. It also had coleslaw in the sandwich. The sandwiches average about $11 and come with chips made in-house. I wasn't a fan of the chips. It was a little over-fried, but did taste better when dipped with the bbq sauce. You can substitute the chips for onion rings, coleslaw, or salad. They also serve salad, soup, and wings. Their Tomato Bisque was pretty good and creamy. If you have a small appetite, the sandwiches are enough for two meals. It's a little out of the way from everything, but definitely worth going to if you want a solid, delicious sandwich. They also have a great selection of beer. U normally pair a beer with a burger but the sandwiches delivered by this place really rocks. The wings also go well with the myriad of beer offered on tap and bottles. We had the Tomato Soup, Roast beef sandwich , Thai wings and Caesar Salad. I found the Thai wings to be little on the western side with a hint of a spicy kick which is how I want my wings. Good sandwich place. My kid likes the ham and cheese alot. Adult staples are Turkey and Cranberry, Reuben, Spicy Chicken and Aloha Chicken. The salads are tasty as well. I would like to see them use a little less salt in the chips but that is personal preference for less sodium. CALL AHEAD for takeout or else be prepared to wait 30min at dinner time if you walk in.
