This used to be my local sushi spot as they offer dang good sushi and apps - I'm quite partial to their grilled squid to start off the meal as well! Unfortunately as other yelpers have mentioned, the service does not match the performance their cuisine has. In my several visits to Fumi, the staff gives either apathetic or depressed demeanor which should not be your first experience before tasting their awesome dishes. Also, make sure to check your takeout order before leaving the restaurant... the staff will be more prone to have you repurchase or pay an up charge than work with you. I just wasn't super impressed with this place. I wanted to check out a new sushi spot for happy hour so I stopped in on a Tuesday a little after 4pm. I sat at the bar, and was greeted immediately. They have a pretty good happy hour, offering $2 off any roll and $2 off a small hot sake. I ordered the hot sake, which wasn't very hot and tasted a bit watered down to me. I really wanted some white tuna so I ordered a Surprise and White Tiger roll. The rolls had a nice presentation and didn't take long to come out. The reason I'm giving less stars is because both the rolls I had lacked flavor. It's almost hard to explain honestly. I felt like they were both bland, with too much spice I wasn't feeling. I even asked for a side of eel sauce to see if that helped. The fish wasn't the freshest, but not horrible. I did order a second hot sake and asked if the server could somehow warm it up for me. It took her a pretty long time to bring it out and it was hotter, but still didn't taste great so I didn't finish it. Overall it was a blah meal to be honest, right down to the hot sake. read more

I've been a long time take out and delivery customer and the foods always been fantastic. They also are able to tweak and substitute our meals for my picky wife. Just tonight we decided to go with our family for my wife's birthday and the owner was very welcoming and personable, coming by to wish us a pleasant dinner and even sang to my wife. All the other servers weee busy chatting it up. Made sure I asked the server if it was still happy hour she said yes. Due to Covid I always had to order sushi to go. Sushi is one of those food that doesn't taste as great on the go. But their sushi was decent. Loved the tempura veggies and shrimp (not one bit soggy but that's probably because I'm only 5 mins away). I've gone to other sushi places nearby and I've been pretty disappointed. Seems since the hostess Red as she was called left the service has gone down. Even the sushi chefs are all different, guessing they had a change of ownership. Maybe it was different because it was a Tuesday night, either way service has gone down. Service all night was slow, rarely seen our waitress. My wife and I ordered appetizers (Mixed Tempura & Japanese Egg Rolls). The mixed tempura came out at the same time as my sushi bento. The egg rolls came out much later. The tempura had a good assortment, they were hot and tasty. The egg rolls came out hot as well, taste was ok. My wife ordered Iron Man roll, same as before, tasted good. My sushi bento was good as well. My order came with miso soup, good flavor but on the salty side. It also came with a salad, but with the latest lettuce scare I skipped it. Tonkatsu Ramen noodles were soggy clumped together and the Ramen eggs or boiled green. When I called them I was put on hold for eight minutes I called back someone said hold on and then another person picked up my call and basically asked What the issue was. When I told her that someone else had already gone to talk to somebody she was like yeah so what was wrong with the noodles? She did offer to remake the dish if I drive down to the restaurant however there is no way that I'm driving down there to interface with someone with such a bad attitude. Service - 4 stars Service was good to fair - we had a large party (Birthday party ). She was very attentive to the needs of the table. Few times had to ask several times for refills, but all in all service was good. Ambiance - 2 stars Extremely hot temperatures- the restaurant was a bit to hot for me, maybe they could have adjusted the thermostat so the guests would have been a bit more comfortable, if it were any other occasion we would have left due to being uncomfortable. - I want to enjoy dinner and relax , either the AC could not keep up with the outside temperature or they decided not to adjust to a more comfortable setting, nonetheless it was a bit of a negative for the dinning experience. I've been to this place twice and had good experiences both times. Last time I got the Orange Crush and my wife got the Lion King. Both were good but my wife really loved hers. We also got the Yakitori Chicken and a California Roll to share. All were good. The service was good and staff were friendly. We were seated promptly. Ambiance was okay. No complaints here. The food here is great. The service is friendly, a little slow during dinner hours to be expected. The prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean. Mediocre, at best. We stopped in Monday as a las resort to fulfill the sushi craving as most were closed due to the holiday. The place was quite large but nearly empty and the wait staff was friendly. We ordered the following : Miso soup : underwhelming and really lacking flavor. Steamed Gyoza: the only thing that were ordered that we really enjoyed. The filling was flavorful and the dipping sauce was really good. Omg volcano roll: completely lacking flavor , except the charred flavor on top. Sweet 16: the fries tempura on the outside tasted like funnel cake, it wasn't enjoyable at all. Rasta roll: tasted OK but the " seared " tuna on top was literally just torched and the taste of burnt food was overwhelming . Lion king roll: flavor inside was okay, but again, burnt , torched topping. Overall the only thing I can recommend is the gyoza. read more
