This is our first dinner visit to this restaurant. It's in a small complex so there was limited parking available at the time that we arrived @ 4 pm-or so - not the end of the world . The decor is pleasant and modern with plenty of tables and booths. Friendly staff greeted us and walked us to our seat immediately. The menu was extensive but not overwhelming. Several nice choices and pictures to help understand what the items are. We ordered wonton soup, crunchy fried egg noodle with seafood toppings, scallion pancakes & soup dumplings. All the dishes were well done & the taste was simply amazingly authentic. The fried egg noodles in particular was among the best I have tasted over the years. Two combinations resulted in a satisfying experience for us: reasonable priced items & outstanding taste and flavor. I called to put in an order for pick up and was told only 15 minutes. I decided to get the Tonkatsu Ramen. I asked for soup dumplings but I guess the lady that makes them was not working that day so they did not have any available. I got the shumai instead. Food was ready when I got there. It was a pretty busy place. The entrance was a little small. They were pretty busy for a Tuesday evening. I got back to my hotel and got ready to eat. The shumai came with a good dipping. Sauce. If you haven't been here, do yourself a favor and go! It was our first visit and we'll be back. We started with appetizers of spring rolls and pot stickers. Both are excellent. The spring rolls are fresh, not greasy, with a nice dipping sauce. The pot stickers had a light dough wrapper, which is delightful. We had the pork version, which was tasty. Our two entrees were Pan Fried Sliced Noodle with Shrimp, and Sweet Sour Chicken. The noodles are very fresh and tasty, as is the sauce. The only negative to this dish was the shrimp was overcooked. The Sweet Sour Chicken presentation was different than any I've seen before. Instead of chunks of chicken, they were more like two inch thin slices. I didn't care for this style, but the dish was still tasty, just not for me. I'll order a different dish next time. Service was flawless. read more

Tonight was our second time here and the food was just a good as it was the first time. I had the hand sliced noodles and my husband had the general tsos chicken with chow mein. We also got the pork bao, veggie spring rolls, fried dumplings and crab rangoons. I like how they bring everything out as it's ready so you get to try a little at a time while it's fresh! We were there this Sunday and they were very busy, there was 17 of us in our party and the guy at the bar had a horrible attitude! we waited a while to be served and they never came back to offer us water or pick up our plates or offer a napkins. Been wanting to try this place for a while but we live in Rio Rancho so we don't always come to this side of town, but finally made our way and it was an 11/10!! Chill ambiance and even though it was a packed house on a Sunday afternoon the service was excellent! Little to no wait for appetizers and food. We got soup dumplings, potstickers, spicy wontons and waffle fries to start all amazing & fresh! Soup dumplings with the chili oil were life changing for me! If I lived closer I would legit come every day even just for appetizers! Our family of 5 spent $95 BUT it was a ton of food still with plenty of leftovers to take home and it was worth every penny to taste that quality fresh made food and not the processed cold food from a chain. I've been wanting to try Fun Noodle Bar for their pulled noodles and delicious looking broth. I got the beef noodle soup in spicy broth and spicy baby cucumber. I had high hopes for them, but were a little disappointed. The soup wasn't as flavorful as I expected. No rich beefy umami flavor. I added my own extra hot chili oil because I like my noodle dishes spicy. The cucumber dish was old and had turned translucent and mushy. Flavor was ok. The service consisted of taking my order, bringing my order and then my bill. No smile, no check in after my meal arrived. Nothing. No "thank you" or "come again" as I left. The door is right by where the staff hang out, so it's not like they didn't see me. The restaurant wasn't that busy either. Maybe about half full. I've always wanted a I try a noodle place and brother-in-law introduced this place to give it a try! First impression was positive because we got seated right away. Decor is modern with Asian accents on the walls. The seating was a bit cramped, but they were able to accommodate a sling for our car seat. We ordered appetizers Jalapeño Bombs, which were not spicy, and Takoyaki, which are octopus balls. Two of my favorite things combined: fried goodness! For entrees, I ordered the Spicy Beef with dry Youpo Noodles, hot! Emphasis on the "dry" because there wasn't much sauce and was served with cooked bean sprouts. The beef slices and noodles were a bit dry altogether, but unfortunately it felt like the Youpo Noodles weren't cooked all the way! I drenched them with my SO's Spicy Beef broth, which helped a little. Next time I'll ask if I can order the beef medium-rare because they were a little tough for my liking. My #4 Spice level was good (1-5 spice level). I wouldn't order this again. Although, everyone else's orders tasted great. My BIL's noodles with vegetables were tasty. Service was a bit spotty. At the beginning, it was a good pace until they forgot my SO hot sake. We had to inform another server because ours went missing once the lunch rush died down. A friend and I have a kind of "eating tour" where we try out different restaurants and we are both ramen fans. So, we tried several around town. First, let me say the staff were kind and considerate, we were served fairly well, and the restaurant is clean and well maintained. They weren't busy, at all, and so we would expect the service they delivered The food, I had the black black garlic ramen, and the black garlic oil gave a good taste, the base broth was kind of weak. I know that a good tonkotsu takes around 24 hours, for that umami, which it lacked. I have sampled quite a bit of ramen, both in the city, and other places, so I've sampled authentic ramen. My dining friend agreed having the basic pork ramen. Also, the nori had an off taste, and I didn't stir it in. It's a a good restaurant, the staff is friendly, and the ramen is ok.. I'm a ramen snob. If this restaurant is the closest, and a a crave, is a good place for pop in, have a quick bowl and good service. read more

Wow - the Burq's first fresh cut noodle house - awesome. Ironically i just ate at one of these in the Bay Area this past week and guess what?? Albuquerque wins. The service here was beyond friendly...like sit down in your booth and walk you through the menu - friendly. A little odd but we welcomed it ;). For a town full, and I mean full on Pho houses...this is a nice left turn in the noodle world. Our appetizers (squid balls and fried bon dumplings) were both excellent. The squid balls aren't for everyone but they're good...just tying and shut up about it. Our main meals were also perfect. My chow mien was perfect - delicious with a nice chew to the noodle - big flavor...unlike other renditions. The wifie's ramon was also excellent...again but flavor and perfect noodles. If you're a noodle person, you'll love this place. I'd say...it was "FUN"...howie...but then again, we had the squid balls...you didn't. ;). read more

Visiting ABQ and craving for Japanese food. Was planning to go to Magokoro but it's closed (sign in door say staffing shortage) so I chose the closest Japanese restaurant. It's disappointing. The black garlic ramen is okay. I like the broth and the noodles but not the pork chashu. The shrimp and pork shaomai is very disappointing. It doesn't look the same as the picture. It's not even served in a bamboo steamer. They probably just copied picture somewhere. The picture shows 4 shaomai in bamboo steamer but they serve 6 small pieces in a plastic plate (menu say serve 5 pieces). There's only tiny bit of shrimp and no pork meat, just what looks and tastes like stuffing. I told the server it doesn't look like the shaomai in menu and it doesn't taste like shaomai. She talked to her boss and came back said, yeah it's not the same as picture but it's shaomai. read more

This was my second trip here, totally lucked out with a window seat to the kitchen so I could see the noodle action up close! Not something you see every day...at least here in NM. This was one of the best pad Thai dishes I have had here in the ABQ metro...on the spicy side, fair warning. My other half enjoyed his noodle dish as well. I saw a lot of advertisements for this place and decided to try it! This place has a great interior design and the food is delicious! The service was fast and our server was friendly. My partner and I got popcorn chicken, steamed dumplings with pork and youpo noodles. The popcorn chicken was okay, it didn't have any seasonings but it was breaded perfectly fine and cooked well. The steamed dumplings were yummy as it seemed that the skin was homemade. The skin was a little thick at the top of the dumpling but that is my personal opinion. The actual dumpling was delicious and I would definitely order it again! The youpo noodle was so good! It was so spicy but it was so good. It is definitely one of the spiciest dishes, I am assuming, on their menu. The noodles were really good since they are homemade. Fun Noodle did not disappoint. They have an easy to use and easy to choose options online ordering system. My order was ready right on time and I was just inside the entrance for all of 3 minutes. Hair in my Tofu with vegetables. Not even my hair color. Serious EEW factor. For the vegans, I found a piece of meat when I looked to see what else didn't belong. First time ordering food from this restaurant. I'm wary of trying them again. The hair was in my second bite. It was wrapped around some veggies and tofu so I didn't notice it until I felt something weird in my mouth. As I pulled it out I realized the hair had gone between 2 teeth.
