The hot pot was good, but would not get the bbq skewers again they were all overcooked and not very flavorful. We arrived around 8pm and it was still pretty busy. Their complimentary chicken feet & crawfish were pretty good they also gave us peanuts as well. After filling out what we wanted on the menu they gave us our food pretty fast. The hot pot skewers are pretty small have small pieces of meat on them. The presentation of the eggplant and oysters were pretty nice but they tasted just ok not amazing. You get free unlimited drinks and at the end we had some watermelon and ice cream I was pretty full when we were done but was pretty disappointed about the bbq skewers they were so hard to chew especially the squid. I highly recommend the clams for hot pot they gave us these big clams that were pretty tasty. I also recommend them pork chops ribs and beef hot pot skewers. I also really liked the squash and winter melon. Next time I think I'll just stick to hot pot

Really fun and yummy skewers! We did the BBQ all you can eat option where we ordered a variety of meat, vegetable, and seafood skewers to try. My favorites are the grilled oysters and the grilled egg plants. Love the amount of garlic they put in them and just makes the food taste so food. I only really had lamb skewers before so it was really cool to try a wide variety of skewers and also bbq items. Also love that they have a variety of soft drinks that are included like soy milk or soda. Great spot to go with a group of friends and fun ambiance in general. The staffs were very helpful and service was really good. Our food also came out pretty quickly.

Staffs were friendly. We ordered their skewers to go. If you want spicy, all your skewers will be spicy. This is close by Grand Street Station B & D trains when you get off. The short ribs have bones in them, just be careful when you eat them if you order short ribs. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5

Coming here was a pretty rogue move if I'm being honest. Rarely do I visit a place that specializes in bbq skewers. However, this place ended up being quite good! The garlic eggplant and grilled fish appetizers were cooked to perfection. The mussels and scallops were also amazing. Only hit or miss are the skewers - some were overcooked while others were just too greasy. Ambiance was what you would expect from a place in chinatown. Service was very friendly and they let you grab infinite coconut milk and other bevs from their fridge.

I visited Funny BBQ for the first time to try their all-you-can-eat skewers and hotpot, and it ended up being a really solid experience. I went on a Wednesday and the service was good. The prices are very reasonable, especially with the large variety they offer. They have a long list of skewers, plenty of hotpot ingredients, a modest appetizer section, and even a fridge of drinks you can grab from. We tried a little bit of everything and definitely didn't leave hungry. The skewers were pretty decent--not the best I've ever had, but definitely flavorful and great for the price. The hotpot ingredients were fresh, and there were more than enough options to keep things interesting. They also offer ice cream for dessert, which is always a win after a big meal. The best surprise? They gave us a $15 gift card at the end, which was a really nice touch and makes me even more likely to come back. If you're craving skewers or want a casual, affordable hotpot night, Funny BBQ is absolutely worth a visit. I'd return whenever I get a skewer craving.

Takeout - Dry Hotpot, Fish Fillet, non-spicy

One of my go-to spots for lunch takeout. The only thing I get is the dry hotpot ($11.92 cash) and it comes with a side of rice and pre-cut slices of orange. Idk any other restaurant that gives you fruit for takeout, but I think it's a nice addition! For the dry hotpot, you can choose your protein and the level of spiciness. I usually only get one protein (either fish fillet or beef) and they give a decent amount of meat, and I get non-spicy. Even though I get non-spicy, it's still pretty flavorful. It can be a bit oily sometimes though. I love the variety of vegetables and other toppings that they add. I tried to show all of them in my picture, but here's a list of what was in it: - Fish, cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, bok choy, bean sprouts, lotus root, seaweed knots, wood ear mushroom, fish tofu, tofu skin, tofu puffs, spam, rice cakes, ginger & scallion. There's cilantro placed right on top as well. And there's one other thing in there, but I'm not sure what it is... maybe thinly sliced white radish? I thought there's usually a quail egg in there too, but I didn't get it this time. Maybe they forgot or maybe they've removed it from the dish entirely. But in any case, it's A LOT of food. PRO TIP: Get a stamp card! Buy 9 dry hotpot/Malatang, get the 10th one free!

Food (2/5): The food was definitely subpar here. The meat quality was low after it finally came over an hour later. Also the sauce options was minimal and while the other ingredients were decent nothing tasted particularly great. Service (2/5): Main issue was that they barely checked up on us and the sliced beef took an insanely long time to come. We waited over an hour and by the time it came we were already full on vegetables, tofu and the meatballs which are the cheap ingredients. When it finally came the beef was also super fatty with little meat parts. The lamb was also very chewy. Not sure if delaying the beef and lamb was a cost saving policy. Ambiance (3/5): The place is not the cleanest or most modern but one plus is that the private rooms have karaoke with decent selection of songs. Issue was that our room's power kept randomly turning off including the hotpot machine. The karaoke machine also needed to download songs which took a while and when power turned off it reset. Place could use a renovation.

I went here for the first time for their all you can eat hotpot and skewers. It was a pretty good dining experience overall in terms of the taste of the food. We got a good amount of meat skewers and hotpot ingredients. The service was okay. I think it might have been a busy Saturday night when we went. In addition to skewers and hotpot, they have ice cream for dessert and an assortment of drinks. They even have a space for karaoke that is out in the open. The basement space that we sat has a lot of Hello Kitty items on the walls.

Amazing food. Service is good as well. Location is easy to find. Had blast dining here.

Love visiting this spot with my friends because they have a spacious interior and delicious mala soup noodles. Everything is also really worth it, and we love getting the skewers combo. The tomato beef mala soup with clear noodles are packed with flavor and so many other ingredients. The beef skewers usually always tastes great but this day we visited the beef tasted extra beefy. However, everything was super good and the service and music here is amazing!

My favorite skewers usually come from a cart in Flushing... I am so happy I no longer have to go out of my way to Queens just to get my skewer fix when I visit the city. Very spacious seating and no wait when we went in on a Sat night. Very attentive waiters and happy to explain things to you. We ordered the 20 skewer combo that was $30 and a side of their cold tripe salad (~$12-13). The skewers were perfectly seasoned and you could sprinkle more cumin/chili powder that is on the side. I like the containers they give you for your used skewers. The two of us were pretty full after this (disclaimer, we did snack all day). We did notice there were AYCE options for the hot pot or skewers. Although nothing can beat eating skewers straight off the carts, this place satisfies the craving perfectly. The menu was quite large, so will definitely be coming back to try out more!

While a bit on the pricier side, this was one of my favorite meals during this New York visit. And so much is actually included with the meal. They have a whole pot of crawfish, chicken, and oranges on the side that you're free to help yourself to. As well as a drink fridge (alcoholic drinks not included) where you can just load up on whatever you want, whenever you want. This was especially nice since you didn't have to wait for the waiters every time you wanted a drink. And they have a little ice cream fridge that you can help yourself to too. You order food through checking off what you want on a piece of paper. And they bring it all out pretty quickly. I love that most things come out on a skewer so you can just stick it in the pot and take it out easily whenever it's ready. And I love that they provide a bin for all your used skewers to go so you don't just have a bunch of loose sticks around your table. There are so many choices, and unique ones at that, and the quality is pretty good! And even more points for providing aprons and storing our bags for us so that they were out of the way and didn't have to smell like hotpot.

My friend came here a few times, and wanted to introduce me to Funny BBQ. She normally orders the 20-skewer combo ($30) when she comes in a party of 2, but I wanted to try the limited time combo menu. I ordered the Mala Tang Combo with fish filet and rice noodle, mild spice ($18.99). The combo includes 10BBQ skewers, a drink, and white rice. For skewers, I chose lamb, beef, beef tendon, shrimp, squid, and QQ sausage, with mild spice. I liked everything other than the squid because i felt that it was a little tough. I probably could have gone with medium spice for the mala. The bowl was filled with a good portion of ingredients. They did not skimp on me! It was good. The restaurant is spacious with a bathroom. Be careful when sitting on the bench because there might be some oil/food on it from the previous party. I would definitely come again if I were in the area and were craving skewers! maybe even try their hotpot and other items.

The beef soup is clear and light and the noodles have a delightful texture, with a slight chew and good bounce. There's a good portion of braised beef as well. Tender but a bit fatty for my taste, but given the portion it's not going to kill you. Lamb burger ended up as overkill and will be consumed as leftovers but a quick sampling let me know that it's gamey and fatty with strong notes of cumin. Not a bad thing, but something to note for people that might not generally enjoy lamb or cumin. Black pepper beef rice bowl was solid too. Spice wise, you can calibrate accordingly but I'd recommended at least their regular spice level. Decent amount of tenderized but still chewy beef. Both dishes came with a salad of celery, carrot, cucumber, peanuts and seaweed strips in a light sauce. Couldn't quite figure out the sauce but it was lightly tart and refreshing. Space is clean and modern. Neutral wood, well lit. Service is friendly enough. If you dine in, you order at the kiosk and they'll deliver to your table. We had leftovers that they graciously packed up. Solid choice. I hope they stick around as they do bring a different cuisine to the area.

The Ahi Tuna was the perfect and proper color it should be. The flavors were SPECTACULAR-WONDERFUL!!! NOTE: WAGAMAMA has added to their menu, since my last visit, so you now have a RAMEN SELECTION, and other yummy additions. I was too full from my spectacular Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl to try the Korean bbq Chicken Wings ($8.95) but, I will definitely be back to try them!! I'll post menu photos so you have an idea of the delicious food choices. (April 2026) My very first delicious bite of Ahi Tuna had a heavenly garlic flavor, it was wonderful, and the sweet green seaweed with rice only added to the wonderfulness. Vertical slices of cucumber, onion and scallion, also add deliciously to my wonderful Poke Bowl. Toasted sesame seeds, too. SIMPLY MARVELOUS!!! Remember to be sure to mix the poke bowl rice as you eat, so that you mix the rice with the yummy sauce that may accumulate at the bottom of the poke bowl. I usually eat a little while, THEN, mix the rice. This was so good, I had to eat, eat, eat, before I could stop to mix. LOL. That sweet green seaweed was so yummy!! A lovely mix of flavors...the garlic, the sweetness....I LOVED IT ALL SO MUCH!!!! When was the last time you enjoyed a dish so very much that you felt like standing up in the restaurant and telling everyone: THIS IS SOOO DELICIOUS!!!! Well, I felt like that, but I didn't stand up and tell everyone, but I did tell the manager, who happen to come to the table to ask how everything was. And I let him know how much I was enjoying the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. He explained why and how the tuna was so flavorful. We had a delightful brief foodie chat. What a joy!! The service is very nice here. I like the atmosphere too. And the music, which is cool; it does not interfere with thinking, or having a conversation. I really like it here . The women's rest room was very nice, and clean, with a Dyson Hand Dryer, so no paper towels on the floor. Yay! Helping our environment, too!! And I like the black and white wall paper, too. See my photos My last visit I enjoyed the Pad Thai, and the same non-alcoholic beverage, " Asian Mint Limeade", from the MINDFUL DRINKS area on the beverage menu. ($9.50) (April 2026). A nice treat! It does have a light carbonation (bubbles). This visit my delicious meal was from the BOWLS SECTION of the food menu, it was the AHI TUNA POKE BOWL ($17.95) (April 2026) With warm, and hot weather on the way, I know I will be enjoying this AHI TUNA POKE BOWL again...and again! I remembered i liked my experience going to one in London in 2024 and decided to go. I love how attentive the wait staff are, a little too attentive. A waitress, she had long hair and a nose ring, approached me when I was just glancing her way during eating. I didn't need anything, but I appreciate the favor. That same waitress gave me my receipt too early like she wanted me to leave ASAP. This was right before I asked to look at the desserts after I finished my meal. A "Would you like some dessert?" would have be appreciated. Cedrick, my principal waiter, was phenomenal. He decided to take care of me after no one was at the hosting desk for 5 minutes after I arrived. I had the chicken potsticker ramen and it was delicious! The potsticker was seasoned very well: my favorite part. To drink, I had the Asian Arnold Palmer and it was a cute drink! Only downside is the sweetness was not even distributed through the drink, even after I mixed the drink. Even though I had an issue with the service, I saw how caring they were (he looked like a manager now) to a family that came after me with organizing their seats and getting a baby chair. I just wished they gave me the same respect instead of rushing me out the door.

We were guided toward the back, past white marble tables with beautiful mustard colored velvet chairs to the long countertop facing the open kitchen. We scanned QR codes to pull up the menu, and despite no omakase noodle offerings to be found, decided to stay because the menu options they did have sounded too good to pass up. Of course they had classic shio and miso ramens, but they also had a duck tsukumen, a red snapper ramen, a black truffle ramen, and the dish I set my sights on-- the uni mazemen. There were also lots of appetizers and a long list of high end onigiri featuring proteins like scallop lemon shio, A5 wagyu ponzu, and bluefin chutoro on offer. This place was the real deal. Our group shared the tebasaki wings-- so crispy and so flavorful, I could have inhaled a whole plate of these. The salmon, ikura, and apple appetizer that was served in a glass chalice was superb but even better was the bluefin tuna avocado sashimi with wasabi. That one was a winner across the board. And then my uni mazemen, which really stole the show. There was a very generous portion of uni that mixed with the savory sauce and al dente ramen noodles perfectly. This dish was rich, unctuous, and fresh and definitely delivered in value, though it was double the price of most other noodle bowls. Uni is a delicacy. Having just returned from a second trip to Japan I can say this place is really as good as any restaurant I visited in Japan, and it's right here in Murray Hill. These Murray Hill bros are lucky.
