Gambi's catered our wedding in April 2026, and it is still the talk of the town. David and Spencer were absolutely fantastic to work with, communicated throughout the entire planning and implementation phase. They were always prompt to respond to any questions or concerns we had until every potential issue was resolved. OMG the food was OUTSTANDING! Guests stated they never had such amazing wedding food before. We never worried about how the appetizers or the main course was because we knew their food was the best in town. They did not disappoint! Since our wedding friends and family informed us they frequented Gambi's numerous times after and they are hooked! They had a few TV's on with different things playing to cater to different audiences. I like how there was no loud noises that would disturb or over whelm a conversation. The cocktail I had was so delicious and refreshing, we started with bread that came with an olive oil balsamic vinegar dip, so tasty. The food: we decided to share pizza, garlic fries and a cheese orzo. The pizza could have been baked longer as we did feel the cheese was not all the way melted. Garlic fries were so tasty but you MUST love garlic, as I do feel the garlic at some point tasted spicy because it was the highlight of the dish. This place is a must! If you have not tried this place you are missing out. Very clean resturaunt and the staff is simply amazing! Kudos to chef Spencer for creating awesome dishes. Don't let the location fool you. It is in a Best Western hotel on the first floor but once you walk in you are in another world, literally! The pirate themed atmosphere is off the charts! I'd never been before, but I was pleasantly surprised. The place isn't your typical Italian restaurant -- it's more of a mix between a sports bar and a sit-down eatery. TVs were on with the game playing, which gave it a lively, casual vibe. The food itself was actually good, and the prices were very reasonable, which made for a great overall dining experience. Yikes!! Some of the worst service and underwhelming food I've had in a while. No one else was in the restaurant for breakfast and we had breakfast with a party of 5. Here were some problems: -We got coffee and the server handed us 1 sugar pack and 2 cream packs each. We had no utensils. We were unable to stir coffee. -About 15 minutes in the server finally checked back in to fill coffee: still no utensils. -Server didn't write down the order. -They were out of hadhbrowns. -When food arrived, the server had still not given us utensils and brought only 4 of the 5 orders. -The server double checked that my husband wanted over easy eggs. He have him scrambled eggs. -It took the server 3x to bring salt and pepper, tobasco, ketchup and jam. -They put the ketchup in a cup on the wrong person's plate. -The last meal for the 5th customer came out super late. -Server forgot toast. -Steak and eggs was severely over cooked. -One breakfast was supposed to come with bacon or sausage. It was not on the plate and he totally forgot about it. -The avocado toasts was literally 2 slices of toast with avocado smeared on top. It did not come with the herbs or citrus as described. -I ordered a fried egg to go on top of the avocado toast. I was served a poached egg in a side dish. -The server checked back on and said, "Sorry my brain isn't working this morning and the cook is (insert ugly face)" Again we were the only people in the restaurant. I will never return and honestly the meal should have been comped. Absolutely terrible. I'm not even hard to please but please give me fucking utensils and basic breakfast, condiment and seasonings. Gambis has been a staple for me and my family, we've been coming from El dorado on vacation and always make a point to stop there. We used to go to the old somerset location in northwest Reno but they have since moved to a better location attached to the best western plus in sparks which in my opinion is way better. It is bigger and more lively. The food always hits the spot and we tried the new TikTok special the lasghetti. Also love the ribeye and penne Ala vodka. Service and price point is always 5 stars. The staff all knows us now which makes it more memorable and meaningful for us. They truly treat us like family. read more

Finally got to check out the new location, which is waaaay closer to my house and extremely convenient to get to being that it is right off the freeway. I loved it! Super spacious and Dave decorated it so well. Unfortunately the Bones is a fun party room now instead of a cigar bar but the menu is bigger and the hours are longer. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner. No more karaoke but DJ trivia is on Thursdays 7-9 and piano night on Fridays from 4-8 (if I remember correctly). The bread is worth the money. So very good. Really enjoyed the veal ravioli I got. It was a bit much on the umami flavor for me but I'd still come back for more! The cannoli is the best cannoli in town. Yeah, I said it. It's spiced cream and filled to order so it is crispy and not soggy like most places. All the wines are from Lido Bay, the owner Dave owns it and honestly I haven't had a bad glass from them ever. The staff is lovely and very kind. Dave and Chef Spencer are some of my favorite people. Always friendly and accommodating. They really know how to build community. I was staying at the Best Western. Gambi's is attached. We had dinner here our first night with my family. The service is outstanding from the hostess to our server Josh. The chef came out to check on us as well. The prices are welcoming. We all loved our food. I loved the marina sauce on my spaghetti. I am really picky as I make my own. Tried out Gambi's new location. Wasn't very crowded on a friday night so was seated right away. They did a great job with the decor making it feel its own vs. as a diner connected to hotel. Service was very good and attentive. Drinks were yummy as well! The food came out in good sized portions which is always nice as some italian places serve too small of portions in my opinion. The piraty theme is over the top and the food has always been first rate. My wife and I are on our third visit and each time we have had good results. The food is not only good but it's arranged with a good eye. I asked for the burger, no bun, double 1/2 lb cooked medium to perfection, added everything on the menu and they included bacon which wasn't on the menu. Super cute restaurant attached to a Best Western in a location that will not attract random diners. There were only a few tables on a Sunday night and we were sat right away. It took 15 minutes for someone to come over so I ordered food and water at the same time. We ordered a bread basket, 2 apps, soup, a side dish and an entree. Yes, this is an abnormal way to order but our group just wanted to share everything that sounded good. It took 40 minutes to start getting food and when it did arrive, I had to ask for utensils. Garlic fries and mozzarella sticks shows up first, both delicious. Next up was the tomato bisque that was extremely salty and the clam dip which was good chips were really greasy. Next up fettuccini alfredo which was the best dish served. The bread basket showed up last? I wanted to refuse it as at that point it didn't make sense. Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! Gambi's is the biggest little hole in the wall ever! Located on Nugget Avenue behind Denny's and inside the Best Western is by far one of the best experiences I have ever had! Walking in, it's a bit dark, creepy and bizarre as everything is pirate bound; however, Gambi's is by far the cleanest, most comfortable restaurant I have ever experienced. Our Server, Bryant, was a little busy with a convention; however, he was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. He made good recommendations and was very friendly. We really appreciated his recommendations and his experience with the restaurant. Plus, his enthusiasm:) We ordered the fish and chips which were phenomenal! Fresh, lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned. I also went with the potato puffs which were similar to home-fries but light and airy. The sauce wasn't tarter or cocktail but a delicious combination which added additional flavor. We also ordered some chicken wings. I am not a fan of chicken wings but these wings were absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked, amazing sauce and crispy. Definitely quality chicken and juicy! Located right next to the best western on nugget avenue. The inside of the restaurant? What a vibe! Loved the layout and the decor. We got fried calamari and tomato soup to start and they are definitely shareable appetizers. Ordered gnocchi and you get to choose your sauce. I had it with Alfredo which was tasty but very filling for my liking. If you're a cheese lover, this is down your alley! Also got the New York steak. Classic. Simple. No complaints. Did not that great of a service. Saw our server when they took our order and when they gave us our food. Didn't check in on us in between. There was a four top next to us who came in after and their server checked in on them several times. Our server seemed more attentive to whatever drama the host was enduring which is fine because we appreciate a good team morale, but still. We expected a pretty decent bill considering the amount of food and type of food we ordered, but our bill included a tab that was not closed out so i recommend double checking your bill is correct before paying. My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a few months. We saw the price and were hesitant to go, but the reviews made us want to try it. What we got did not live up to the expectations we had, nor did it match the other reviews posted on here. If I could give negative stars, I would. Most of the food was inedible. There are two things that could've been a misrepresentation of the food quality. 1) We did order pick up because we wanted quality food on a Saturday night, but still be at home to watch a movie. Ordering to go at a restaurant is never as up to par as it would be sitting down to eat. 2) The reviews for this restaurant are from people who have never had decent Italian food. (Olive Garden would be better than this place) We ordered calamari as an appetizer. It was chewy, lacked flavor, and smelled overly fishy, almost like it was ready to spoil. My husband got the linguine scampi. The first bite, the flavor was off. Very acidic. The shrimp was overcooked, chewy, and had that same strong fishy smell. There were only 3 shrimp for an entree that cost $26. My youngest son got the fettuccine Alfredo. It literally looked like someone melted a stick of butter on top of some fettuccine noodles and then drizzled some warmed heavy whipping cream on top. It tasted exactly like noodles with butter. For $20. I got the lobster ravioli. We had the same problem here as the linguini. The shrimp mixed in gave the whole dish a spoiled fish smell. The smell made it hard to want to eat any of it. My oldest son got the carne pizza, this was the only thing that was decent. It wasn't bad, but not something to write home about. Typical pizza you'd get at an Italian restaurant. We also got the chicken Alfredo quesadilla because we thought it sounded fun. I give this a pass because it's a little out of the box. It was very bland, but was at least we felt we could safely eat it, unlike the dishes with fish. For dessert we tried a cannoli. It tasted like it had been sitting out and stale. I'm not sure if they were having a rough night, or what was going on, but we were shocked at how bad the food was. After splurging and spending $160 we went to bed disappointed and still hungry. I will add a positive note: When we walked into the restaurant, I did think to myself it looked like a fun atmosphere to hang out in. We were treated that we are from different world. place an order right away after seated. Waited for so long for simple appetizer. No napkins utensils served. Food came after close to 35mins, coconut shrimp. We were expecting to serve plates and utensil, wasn't there at all. All we receive was platter of Coconut shrimp in table without any utensil or Napkins. I was completely blown away with the service. At this point. I went to ask for manager in Duty but never showed up saying person name David is busy. I ask for the name and walked away. My kids left was super hungry and went elsewhere to dine in. Atmosphere: Caribbean, pirates, reggae music, seating for large parties, lots of attention to detail, big furniture with character. Menu: Italian-forward but also offers lots of familiar favorites and a Buccaneer's' menu for the kiddos too. Food: Absolutely shocked us how delicious it was! They were out the clam dip, so now we have to go back for that.. Captain's mushrooms - just the right amount of spice, served with not too much cheese, in a buttery sauce. I wanted more, but that's an appetizer doing it's job. Penne ala Vodka - out of this world with tiny bits of veggies in the sauce, shaved parm, bacon in the sauce and perfectly garlicky. It was actually even better the next day (will order this again!). Linguine Scampi - good serving of shrimp in a lemony butter garlic sauce which was really light. Mermaid Tale - It was a good mix of sweet/sour. A bit pricey, so I wouldn't order it again. But its good for the theme, had to try it! Draft beers $5 - great selection of those and bottled, and the bar was beautiful. Cannoli - didn't have the ricotta texture I love, was much creamier. Kahlua chocolate cake - sized like a small bundt and covered in a caramel like sauce and ice cream. Rich and well sized to share. Not overly sweet! I had zero expectations of a restaurant attached to a Sparks NV motel being anything better than ordinary--but lemme tell you, this place was legit. Calamari was perfectly crispy with homemade spicy marinara, Caesar salad was delivered in a chilled bowl perfectly dressed, ribeye was flame grilled to a perfect doneness, and the lobster ravioli was perfectly creamy and melty. "In Best Western" as described by others but it honestly didn't feel like it to us. Atmosphere during lunch hours on a Friday was quiet and enjoyable even with other tables occupied. We went here for Valentines this Saturday and asked if we could be seated they said if you didn't have a reservation they could not accommodate us which I understood because it's Valentines day. So I asked if we could sit at the bar they daid yes go ahead so we seated ourselves and they said you can order food there. We weren't in a huge hurry just enjoying the night. We loved the decor and then once we were ready we ordered. We got our drinks right away the bartender was nice and personable and got us our drinks very quickly. Our food came out very fast and it was delicious me and my partner enjoyed it. The prices were a bit high so he choose a pizza and I got the Tortellini Alfredo fresh parm on top very tasty.
