I ordered a breakfast burrito that had the galbi meat, rice, spinach and other veggies, cheese, and eggs. This sucker was the size of my arm. I wish I came with a bigger appetite, so I could finish it! In spite of the size, something was missing for me. The taste was subtle...where I was expecting it to be sweet. Most times quality is greater than quantity, but I was still glad to see the portion of that meal! Our waitress told us her favorite thing on the breakfast menu is the chicken fried steak. I have officially made this place my eggs Benedict home after my first experience and believe me, you'll make it yours too. I ordered the breakfast burrito with galbi meat, which is a korean-style marinated rib eye. it was $9.50 for a HUGE burrito that came with hashbrowns on the side. it also included egg, rice, carrot, green onion and spinach in the burrito w/ salsa and sour cream on the side. i think they forgot my sour cream, but the burrito was still excellent and very tasty! i would highly recommend cutting the burrito in half because they're huge! i had to take the 2nd half to go home! all dishes were around $9-12 and if you want to be fancy, they have a crab benedict that my friend really enjoyed which was a bit on the pricier side! their salads are also huge, but also really yummy. for their mango chicken salad my friend ordered, it came with a lot of mangos and chicken and dressing on the side. i also heard they make mickey mouse pancakes/waffles for kids here! so bring your kids. as for the adults, they service mimosas during brunch =] parking wasn't too bad - they have a parking lot/plaza parking. for their customer service, it was on point! the waitresses were also super friendly and attentive even with the whole place pretty filled. overall, a great breakfast joint to go to! would definitely recommend people to come here for brunch if they are in the area! read more

We were looking out for some good Breakfast/Brunch places close by and came across Gangnam Cafe. The menu looked good and we decided to give it a try last Sunday and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we've made. The restaurant is spacious and brightly lit with seating arrangements inside and out. We took a seat inside close to the window since it was a bright and sunny day. Our server got us started with the menu and some COFFEE which was just perfect. I opted for the VEGGIE EGGS BENEDICT and it was heavenly. The eggs were poached just right, the English muffin how hot and buttered well and the Hollandaise sauce was creamy and sinful. And to add to this, it was filled with loads of fresh avocados and tomatoes and served with some hash brown on he side. On the whole, the dish obviously turned out to be amazingly delicious. I'm so glad I tried it. My husband had ordered for the VEG. OMELETTE which was yummiliciously cheesy and well spiced. We also got the best partially thick PANCAKE which was So Good - nice and fluffy. Got a hankerin' for some chicken friend steak and hash browns this morning, and this place sure didn't disappoint. Probably the best chicken fried stead I've ever had. The batter was crispy and just substantial enough to withstand the deluge of savory gravy that had been generously ladled atop it. The meat was incredibly soft and juicy. They bring out a knife with the plate, but I never touched the thing. A fork was more than sufficient to slice into the tender, gravy-sopped goodness. My wife ordered the crab benedict. It was drenched in hollandaise and looked delicious. There was a generous helping of crab and the sauce was well balanced. The only complaint I had was that the dish was served luke warm. Not sure if this was a one-off, but definitely made me less enthusiastic about the dish overall. This was a nice place to have breakfast and I look forward to trying their lunch menu. I think that the food were slightly pricey. I liked that they have about four booth seats. The bathroom was outside and had to get a key. The place was clean and had ample parking. We ordered the chili omelette, crab Benedict, and the Mickey Mouse pancake (see pics above). My friend ordered the omelette and she liked it, but thought it was pricey. My crab Benedict was delicious and the Hollandaise sauce was closed to perfect. The hash browns was golden brown, crispy, and fluffy on the inside. The crab meat was okay. I wish it had more lump white meat. What stands out was the claw meat. I don't think that was ideal for crab Benedict but overall it tasted good. My 3 1/2 year old son loved the presentation of the Mickey Mouse pancake. Slightly crooked but okay for him for right now. He ate the whole thing. We would come back for this pancake. It was also a good deal for $5.95 because it came with scrambled eggs and 2 slices of bacon. Eggs Benedict for lunch? You betcha. It took me a while to find the actual place because there are so many other businesses around the place and it doesn't really stand out saying "Here I am." The inside of the place looks more like a cafeteria then a restaurant. Tables and chairs and plain, walls are bare except for pictures scattered around the walls. The booths to me felt a little low. It's a small space and the vibe doesn't really call to you. However the staff were great. There was a new waitress training today and she did great, the owner (I'm guessing) was the one training her and she did a great job showing her how to describe the specials. I then had my order taken by another waitress who was very friendly. I knew going into this place that I was going to get Eggs Benedict, no matter what time of day it is. I decided on the salmon Benedict. My plate arrived about 5 to 7 minutes later and it was a huge plate of food. At this point I'm almost jumping in my seat I'm so excited. I added some pepper and tabasco to flush down one of the biscuits. I wouldn't recommend this dish if you're a fan. The gangnam scramble is listed as a specialty but it wasn't very special. It was bul go gi (marinated steak) almost stir fried with carrot, bell pepper and some eggs. I could taste the bul go gi barely and the rest of it just tasted like nothing. I dumped some ketchup and tabasco on my hashbrowns and kind of used it to help the scramble. Overall it was very disappointing to say the least. My GF's crab benedict was actually really good. I guess they're better at benedicts so if you're gonna eat breakfast, get one. She liked that they used real crab. Her hashbrowns were just OK as well. Now I love sourdough toast and that's why they're getting 2 stars instead of 3. The sourdough toast was cold and then they put on the butter/margarine. Basically ruining the toast all together :( Sadly I wanted to like this place but I won't be back. I'd rather go to Min's or another established restaurant. We were in search of a good breakfast while passing through the Concord area and stumbled across this place. In short, simple american cafe type feel with Korean influence. I had an odd burrito, the Galbi. Which had egg, marinated beef (galbi), rice and some greens. It was decent but very odd. Everyone in our party had traditional American breakfast dishes. Long story short they were nothing to write home about. What was worth wring about was our waitress, she was either high, drunk or both. It was solidly OK. It looks like it's part of an office building but easy enough to find. It's called "GN café" on the signs. It was pretty busy but we found a seat easily. Service was quick. For my daughter they had a reusable sippy cup which was actually nice, it was better quality then the throwaway ones we usually get, plus it had handles for her to hold. It's also the kind that can be completely cleaned so you know you aren't getting a moldy sippy cup. My daughter had the Mickey Mouse pancake, which comes with some fruit and a side of egg and bacon. It was way too much food, so if your kid is older it's worth ordering, but a two or three-year-old isn't going to eat that much so consider just having your kid share your plate. The adult entrées are pretty big too. I had the breakfast sandwich, I can't say it was fantastic and sadly I like the breakfast sandwiches at the Kaiser Hospital cafeteria better. The bacon was weirdly chewy, there was a lot of butter in the bread but it still tasted kind of stale, it had cold spots in the middle. My hashbrowns I asked for crispy and they came back pretty mushy. My husband had the Kalbi omelette and ended up not really liking it. Said it was a good idea in theory but the execution just left something lacking. I think for regular breakfast, like omelettes and scrambled eggs, it's just fine, but I don't know that I would make a special trip up there just to eat there. After our trip down to east bay this is the first place that I wanted to write about. Best chicken fried steak ever. I have some requirements for a chicken fried steak. Shouldn't need a knife. Gravy that doesn't taste like flour Meat that doesn't taste like freezer Breading that tastes like some sort of herb or spice. This one hit all four. It wasn't enormous, but I wasn't left wanting afterwards. Tasty gravy, tender meat, well cooked. This was a winner. My wife got the crab benedict. It was delicious. There is no such thing as too much crab. The plate could have stood for a little more especially given the cost. However, the egg was perfectly cooked and the hollandaise was velvety and delicious, but there was a lot of sauce. French cooking has heavy sauces because the kitchen would be so far from the dining room that they didn't want the food to get cold. I think modern times don't require that much sauce, as delicious as it was. I was also impressed with the service. The dining room was full and there were maybe 2 and a half servers. Ours did a masterful job of making sure we had everything we needed and anticipating things we would need before we do. Our glasses were never empty. Great work. My wife and I used to like this place a lot even during SIP. Good is always good and quick . However, we came today and be seated and it took more than 30 minutes to be serviced. The excuse they have is short of hand . Ok if that is case, why don't you limit the seat and ask us to wait the line? While we waiting for service. This place has a nice homey diner kind of feel to it, and their menu reflects that well. Wonderful breakfast items that had me purring in anticipation. I decided on the 3 egg crab omelette which came with toast an hash browns, while my companion cat had a mix breakfast plate with pancakes. Our food arrived very quickly and was nice and fresh! With the first bite of my omelette I was put in a wonderful mood! The crab was wonderful and there was so much! I definitely loved this. The presentation was simple, no fancy garnish or set up, just the good food, on a plate. Simple. Price here is very affordable, and the service was very friendly and fast. DH and I were recent first-time customers at GN Cafe in Concord ... and we'll be back. We discovered it when doing a search for restaurants in the Oak Grove Road area that serve breakfast. Reviews looked good so we decided to give it a try. Out of the way spot ... or at least for us. Feels like a local diner with its booths and counter seats. However, the tables and chairs in the center of the room give a different vibe. Great breakfast menu. DH liked his scramble and hash browns. His whole wheat toast was "marshmallow" in texture which seems to be the norm these days. I had two scrambled eggs, two slices of french toast, and two pieces of bacon. The eggs were not scrambled well ... the whites were still visible. But tasty, nonetheless. The french toast was delicious and came with a generous sprinkling of powdered sugar and cinnamon. The bacon was perfect for me as it was quite crisp. (Some people might have found it overdone.) We both felt the coffee was a notch above what we find at most diner-type restaurants. On the downside, there was only one server and that meant service was quite slow. Fortunately, we were not in a rush, but it could have been a problem on some days. I wanted to like this place--honestly I thought it was going to be a little bit more Korean in there. I mean, there are definitely hints of it with the karaoke machine in the corner, the ajumma with a chefs hat walking around, the galbi meat in different forms (omelettes, sandwiches, etc.), but aside from that, it's a pretty typical cafe with Mexican people cooking your food and poor service. I had poor service because our waitress asked us twice what we wanted to drink. She also got our order wrong--very simple breakfast order, how do you mess it up? My son got the Mickey Mouse platter and the pancakes came out looking like Mickey Mouse with random fruit on top. Customer service - I came in with a party of six. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken promptly. Our waitress kept our glasses full and was very accommodating of my dietary needs. Food - the food was really good. I ordered pancakes and eggs. My brother teased me because most of what I ordered was totally off menu. I don't eat pork so after talking to the waitress about my alternatives we settled on swapping out my bacon for a beautiful fresh fruit salad. I also requested chocolate chips in my pancakes which they were able to do. I'm lactose intolerant as well so she brought me lactose free coffee creamer and nixed the butter on my pancakes. I was really shocked when my food came on three different plates their pancakes are enormous one is more than enough. Ambiance - the shop is clean not the chicest place but I'm there for food and family. Value - their plates sit around the $10 to $12 mark. For the quantity of foot it's a really good deal we took home a lot of leftovers. Overall - I like this place a lot I really don't have any negative things to say about it. This little place is a gem. It is hidden away behind Concord Costco. The service is unbelievably friendly just look at this picture avocado toast everything super generous and so fresh and color for the tomatoes were delicious avocado perfect poached eggs perfect.
