    Frozen Thai Tea

A charming Thai spot in Green Lake! We happened to be in the area and popped in on a whim. Our friends raved about their portion sizes and Pad Thai, so of course we had to try! They were right. The Pad Thai we got was HUGE! The leftovers lasted us multiple meals. Super yums! Super solid! We got an order of Crab Rangoon Pockets to start and ooo. These were the "crabbiest" crab rangoons I've ever had. I was left questioning if they used actual crab. To wash everything down, we got a frozen Thai tea. A fun twist on a classic drink!

Pros: very flavorful delicious food, authentic Thai cuisine, fun and welcoming vibe, good customer service Cons: too salty, too flavorful, high sodium, you will get very thirsty after the meal, street parking can be challenging at times, but it won't be an issue if you don't mind walking a little bit.

The food is definitely worth the hype! I came here with a group of 5 and we ended up going family style with 5 entrees and a few appetizers. It was definitely more food than we could all eat and ended up with plenty of leftovers. We got the chive pancakes (deep fried and YUMmy. Not like the Korean or Chinese flat pancakes), fish sauce wings, and vegan spring rolls. All were solid choices to start off with. The bha mee hang bowl, BBQ pork, wonton, and soft boiled egg was my favorite dish out of all of them. Salty, sweet, and savory. Tom yum gao lhao bowl with egg noodle was also a stunner. I would not get the pad thai from here. They use like angel hair vermicelli and the flavoring was weak. The steak garlic fried rice was mediocre, good but nothing special. Their cocktails come in fancy, photo worthy cups - we were ooh and aww-ing at the table next to ours drinks. Service was fantastic. The ambiance was lovely, it was very loud and hard to hear anyone. It's a solid spot in a great location next to Greenlake so will definitely be back in the near future :)

Came here on a weekend and was able to get seated right away. The decor is very nice inside and it's quite a large restaurant. The location is also great, as you can walk around Green Lake after, if you wish. My husband and I decided to share 3 different dishes and dessert. We ordered the roasted duck with egg noodle dish. This was my personal favorite because I thought the noodles tasted great and the duck was cooked well. The New York steak garlic butter rice was also amazing. It came on a hot stone plate and the steak was well seasoned. The third dish we got was the pork belly that came with Chinese broccoli. The pork belly had some spice and was very crispy. We finished with the mango sticky rice. The presentation was beautiful and I liked the black sticky rice. Overall, this place was great and I'd highly recommend coming here.

WHAT A VIBE! Very casual, upbeat restaurant for all your Thai cravings! Waitlist via Yelp when you check in. Parking is primarily street parking. Baked crab with glass noodles was served in a clay pot. Tasty and well seasoned. I do wish there was more crab to the dish. Tom yum moo was served with three different types of pork. The broth was tangy like tom yum but creamy at the same time. Kao Soi portion was HUGE! Definitely can feed two easily. Curry was on the blander side but you can request for a spice rack and doctor it up yourself. HIGHLY recommend the vinegar brine from the spice rack. XO noodle is a non broth dish served with seafood and egg noodles.

Most of the time I eat in Greenlake Village, it feels like some higher power has decided the area would be just too overpowered if it had the lake, park, AND good food. I've been burned aplenty, and so I went to Gao Lhao with tempered expectations. Well, the neighborhood might be starting to shake off that curse. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the eight-or-so dishes my group ordered to share family-style. Standouts for me were the NY Steak with Penang curry (elite sweet and savory combo) and the crispy pork noodles. The yuzu almond salad was also a nice lighter addition to the lineup. I'm firmly in the phone-eats-first camp, but you'll notice I didn't abide by my own rules here for the most part. That says something! Only minor ding would be the NA drink options. even a regular (non-slushy) Thai Tea would be a welcome add. Looking forward to coming back!

I really struggled with how I wanted to rate Gao Lhao as I had some amazing bites, but then so many mediocre ones as well. It almost feels like a 3 star spot that is almost 5 stars. Went for a dinner on a Sunday night around 8 PM and the spot was PACKED; we ended up waiting 20-30 minutes, so would definitely recommend a reservation if you're in a rush or want to eat during normal meal time. Whole Fried Pompano: The dipping sauce was incredible and the fish skin got a nice crispy crunch from being fried, but I was pretty confused by how to eat this dish. Maybe it was user error, but there were tons of bones and unlike with steamed fish, it was very difficult to remove them. In spite of the flavors and fresh herb accoutrements, I just can't recommend this due to the eating experience: Crab Claypot Noodles: Very minimal amount of crab, just 3 tiny bitty claws. It's mostly just thin, glassy noodles that in themselves were just okay from a texture perspective, I like a bit more of a chew. Very ginger forward and the flavors were not bad, but not anything special. Crispy Pork Belly, BBQ Pork, Pork Wontons, Onsen Egg Bha Mee Hang: The noodles and the gravy are a 5/5 bite, but unfortunately the protein was just okay. The skin on the pork belly was crispy, but both pork options ate very chewy / overcooked. Pork wontons were fine, but cold and I wanted them to be a bit fresher.

I am a fan of Isarn and Kin Len Thai Nite Bites. So when I heard about their new Chinese fusion restaurant opening in Greenlake, I could not wait to go and try it. Unfortunately, my first try (during Mother's Day) dining here did not go smoothly because we ordered two really awful main dishes-- Their flavorless Beef Hot Pot and some gooey, noodle concoction that tasted awful and looked like some kid made it on their toy stove. I've blocked it out and can't remember the name! Other than these minor missteps, the rest of our food tasted good, service was attentive and friendly on a busy night. Our drinks were refreshing and overall we had a fun time. What I noticed though is how good their Happy Hour menu is and how I feel this would be the best time to dine here again.

Another gem in a great location! I almost always crave Thai food and my favorite place in Seattle, Kin Lin, is not always the easiest to get a seat at come dinner time. My partner and I decided on this place because it was close to Green Lake which is a great location. The parking is a bit difficult because of the busy area but parking a few block away usually isn't that hard. Green Lake being so close was also a great thing because we needed to wait a bit for a table. They have a huge menu with many items I have not seen before. The service was also very quick and friendly. I opted to try their boat noodles which was very rich and very good. This was my first time trying boat noodles and I was very happy with this choice. The portion was also huge and I left very full with plenty of leftovers. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we will happily be back

They helped store our cake and let us eat in-restaurant :))

Really fun place to eat with the nicest staff. I've been here twice - with my brother then for a friend's bday and had the same positive experience each time. I've really enjoyed the apps here esp the chive cake but the entrees I've tried are more misses in my book. The boat noodle was a little gritty and the pang xie mian (lobster noodle) was a little mushy and gloopy. But the fried rice is great! When isn't fried rice great though. Also for the bday, they were super gracious in letting us store an ice cream cake and then brought out extra dishes and a knife for cutting.

    Jiaxin G.

Food: the food came out quickly enough and was fresh. The chive cakes are soooo tasty! They actually taste just like what my Indonesian grandma used to make when I was young. Even the slightly sweet and sour soy sauce that comes with them tastes 99% similar. It's nostalgia on a plate, I experience my the best part of my childhood again this afternoon. Pad kee mao with beef is surprisingly fragrant when it's served. It's so basily, with every bite full of savoriness, sweetness, and spiciness (I chose medium spicy btw). Each bite of the soft yet perfectly cooked rice noodles is nicely chewy, and coated in the flavorful sauce. It's a hearty carb feast if you just bike down to greenlake. Service: we all the staff ladies we met were extremely friendly, yet you don't need to make lengthy small talk like you do at some places. Very introvert friendly and comfortable. Ambience: I'd say this is a place that's great for dining alone or coming with friends, a partner, or family. Definitely worth a second visit, and I want to try more dishes

I came here with some friends to finally try the Thai food I'd heard so much about. I really liked the lighting and seating layout of the restaurant, it created a pretty cool, modern ambiance that made the whole experience feel a bit more elevated. I ordered the Pad Thai, which I enjoyed! It was a bummer though that they had already run out of Pad See Ew by the time we arrived :/ but the portion sizes were super generous, which is always a plus! So I only ended up making it about half way through my plate before having to ask for a to-go box lol. I also decided to try the Boozy Chrysanthemum Slushy. While it was very pretty in presentation, I personally wasn't a fan of the taste :/ It had a stronger bitter/herbal flavor? than I was expecting, so I ended up tapping out and couldn't finish it, which was a bummer... I think having ingredient descriptions for the drinks on the menu would definitely help set expectations a bit better lol.

    Jeff W.

Hype deserved. Everything was delicious, service was friendly and prompt, and the vibes are awesome here. Cocktail list was plenty and creative. Super unusual: a really lovely waiting area since they don't take reservations. We loved the noodle bowls, fish sauce wings, steak fried rice. Happy hour every day til 6!
