2+2+2 breakfast and a side of corned beef hash. Breakfast for 2.
    Rebecca G.

This place is always busy on the weekends. We don't go here a lot but I got a hankering for potato pancakes and corned beef hash so we went here last Sunday. We went later, after the after church breakfast crowd, so we did not have to wait for a table. I think the key to not waiting is to go really early or really late. I don't really like eggs so I went with the side of potato pancake and a side of corned beef hash. My hubs got the 2+2+2 breakfast and chose the potato pancake so I could have two (one to eat there and one to take home for the next day.) His eggs were done soft like he likes and like he requested, and his potatoes were well done, again like he likes and like he requested. Not many breakfast diners do his eggs and hash browns the way he likes them, even though he requests it like that every time so I have to give them props for that. They really listen. Also, the melon on the side was perfectly ripe. The times we have come here I always look some of the omelette combos but I always end up getting potato pancakes. They do have a lot of varieties of dishes though so I think everyone would be able to find something good.

Proportion size is enough are for two people!! We definitely left with left overs

A nice little hard-to-find spot for breakfast on US-19 southbound. If you can't find something on that vast menu I encourage you to get new glasses. After quite some time examining the choices I settled on the Polish Sausage Skillet, and I was stunned by the sheer size of the offering. It is indeed a portion that is large enough to satisfy two people. Although the taste wasn't through the roof it was quite tasty. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. Easy to recommend Garden Grill.

    My feta spinach omelette

My friend invited me out for breakfast. I'd not heard of Garden Grille (GG). It was in a hidden strip mall I'd never seen before, wen though I've driven by it thousands of times. When I entered GG it looked like I had gone back in time. It was a restaurant frozen in the 1980s. Nothing was updated at all, & I assumed the food would be just average. I ordered a feta-spinach omelette with country potatoes. The omelette exceeded expectations. The spinach tasted very fresh, the feta was generous & flavorful, & the omelette was cooked perfectly. I found it to be a really satisfying breakfast. So GG may be frozen in the 1980s, but the food is on point in 2020.

Corned beef hash, home fries, poached eggs garnished with fresh fruit

The last few times we've come have been good but not as great as they used to be. The food doesn't seem to be given as much attention in preparation, it lacks flavor from time to time, and the service is hit or miss. We visited this morning and they were jam packed, barely a place to sit, running out of coffee cups (the waitress had to take an unused one off our table to give to the table next to us.) It was quite noisy too. As usual we were the youngest people in the place. We were able to be in and out within a matter of 40 minutes despite how busy they were. My corned beef hash looked kinda like they dumped it right out of a can...barely cooked...so I mixed it up with my scrambled eggs right away otherwise I'd gross myself out. My toast was odd in texture and had WAY too much butter on it. I finished my orange juice pretty quickly but was never offered a refill or a water. I'm not saying it's declined so much that we won't return, I'm just saying I don't think this is the 5 star establishment that it used to be.

On my first visit, I ordered the mix & match gyros and specifically requested no onions because I have an onion allergy. The receipt even said "no onions," but when I got home, both gyros had onions on them. Lacked flavor. I decided to give them another chance and ordered two burgers. Unfortunately, they were just as bad. The burgers were bland, had almost no seasoning or flavor, and didn't taste fresh. They also weren't very warm by the time I got home, so I had to reheat them in the microwave. I don't mind giving a restaurant a second chance, but after two disappointing experiences, I just can't recommend it. The food lacked flavor, and the mistake with my allergy request makes it hard for me to trust them with future orders. Front staff also bland, no smiles, no politeness. Nothing, bland just like the food here.

We walked in and were sat immediately and our server Paige was super nice and made great recommendations we eventually settled on the chicken biscuit to share, the corned beef skillet and the lumberjack breakfast. The corned beef skillet was the best thing we had today which was well seasoned, tender and full of flavor, the home fries were okay and the over medium eggs were perfectly done. The lumberjack breakfast was Huge but just okay, not good not great. The homemade biscuit was very mealy and dry, not flaky and buttery like a good biscuit should be. The owner came out and apologized for the biscuit being what I described as a "disappointment" which it was because as I explained to my server, the owner and the other kitchen manager, I have been all over the world eating great food and this doesn't measure up. The chicken biscuit was also very okay. We ended up leaving 3/4 of the food we ordered on the plates to be thrown in the trash. The ambiance was exactly wheat you would expect from a diner on a Sunday morning that attached to a mall, busy, kinda loud and people everywhere. I really wanted to like this place but it's a NO for me.

Predatory worker compensation structure - Be aware…read more We recently dined here and noticed the tabletop signs explaining a mandatory 20% "commission" added to every single bill. When speaking with our server, she informed us that management classifies the waitstaff as 1099 independent contractors, meaning they receive a $0 hourly base rate from the restaurant and rely entirely on this mandatory guest fee for their paycheck.I have a physical copy of the check showing this automatic fee. While the sign claims this "supports our team," classifying standard restaurant servers as 1099 workers instead of W-2 employees is a massive red flag that contradicts federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines. Independent contractors set their own hours and operations; servers do not. Furthermore, a restaurant cannot legally leave a server's direct hourly base wage at zero by relying entirely on automatic service fees.We love supporting local staff, but we want our money going to businesses that respect basic labor laws and compensate their employees legally. Hopefully, public pressure will force management to fix their payroll structure. The server said the restaurant was on the verge of bankruptcy and had to make changes. Sadly they chose to break the law. On that note the service was lovely, the food very tasty. I asked to sub corn for flour tortias and she was able. We don't directly live in the area, and its been a while since we've been here. Its always good, with good portions and not a chain. Its so unfortunate.

A lot of the restaurants are closed for lunch though, which is how we ended up here. It's a lot larger than it looks. There's a really cute covered outdoors area in the back with a stage for performances. There were only a few diners there for lunch on a Friday so it was easy to grab a spot. I got a skinny strawberry margarita, it made me happy to see a skinny version of a flavored margarita on the menu. It has a sugar rim and was delicious. It's on the sweet side and I'd definitely get it again. I requested it without soda water. For my main I got the salmon bowl. I wouldn't get this again, but it's because the base is mainly fried wontons. I thought it would be a scattering of fried wontons but nope, it was a hefty portion. I didn't eat most of the fried wontons because I'm trying to be healthy. It's a delicious dish, just not for me. Service was great, but we were an easy table because we were chatting the entire time.
