What a cute place! The place is right under an apartment/condo. Parking - it shares a small parking lot with the grocery store in that lot. Keep in mind, it says that parking is only 90 minutes. I didn't realize this and we were there for about 2 hours and nothing happened. We went for brunch on a weekday so maybe it's not busy and they're more lenient on parking. Service is awesome! They're so nice and attentive. Since it was real slow they just let us hang out there for 2 hours and just kept coming by every so often to check on us. Bathrooms are small and clean. Food was delicious. Had the ube latte, hot (no espresso because espresso is an extra $3.25!!) and it smells amazing! Before even taking a drink it smells like a sweet shortbread cookie. The smell blended with the taste of the drink was great. I would've preferred some espresso, but I couldn't get myself to pay that much more for espresso. Was seated right away and the menu has a ton of options. I noticed this place kept popping up on my For You page on TikTok when they had their grand opening. I knew it would be super busy if I went ASAP due to their social media presence so I waited a while before visiting. We finally decided to pop in for a Sunday brunch and the weather was pretty warm (80s) so we were hoping they would have AC. When we got there, there was already someone who was at the podium, ready to seat us. Unfortunately the inside was not air conditioned but at least it wasn't as warm as sitting outside, so we decided to sit inside. We were sat at a booth right near the door before the host started seating other people. We did notice that a party who arrived after us decided to sit outside. It wasn't too long until we were ready to order so we patiently waited for someone to take our order. Our menus were closed and even placed at the edge of the table to indicate we're ready to order, but no one came. The party who came in after us and was sat outside had their order taken before us and the waitress didn't even notice us for some reason. We were actually sitting there for at least 10 minutes until we had to flag her down. We ordered the Chicken and Waffles, Fun Size order of the Tres Leches French Toast, Garlic Fries, and 2 iced waters. Our ice waters were brought to us right away but we noticed there was barely any ice. I'm not sure if the server just didn't put enough ice or because it was warm in there. Or maybe both! But it definitely wasn't air conditioned which didn't help cool our drinks down. When everything came out, the person who brought our food seemed a little confused when giving us our food. Before putting down the French toast, she walked away with it and said "sorry, one second" before coming back to give it to us. When I asked for a side of mayo, she didn't seem to understand what I was asking for. She had to call over a younger server to help us. The Chicken and Waffles were pretty good. The waffle had great flavor and the fried chicken had very crispy skin. I LOVED the garlic fries! It was a large portion and I could see that the garlic and Parmesan are mixed together before mixing with the fries. The garlic Parmesan was actually so good that I was eating it alone when we ran out of fries. I was extremely disappointed with the Tres Leches French Toast. I understand I got a fun sized portion which is a half size portion (1 slice cut in half), but I feel like they type of bread they used was just a regular slide of white bread. On the menu it states that the Tres Leches French Toast is made with brioche bread and "tres leches cream". But if you take a look at the photo I added, it just looks like a slice of white bread with condensed milk drizzled on top. Extremely disappointing. The menu has the standard fare, with a larger section for Mexican food, which I appreciate. I ordered my standard breakfast fare, the breakfast burrito with chorizo. My wife is on a "Canadian Bacon" kick lately, so she got the 2 eggs + meat breakfast, with a special substitution of Canadian Bacon. Hers came with 3 bacons. It wasn't too salty, and balanced the eggs very well. Hers also came with toast and some crispy hashbrowns. My burrito also came with crispy hashbrowns as well. I have to say, the hashbrowns really were the STAR of the dishes. Beautifully made, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It didn't have that stale aroma, that some places get. My burrito on the other hand... when it came, it looked REALLY nice. And totally packed with stuff. But I don't know exactly why, it started dripping CONSTANTLY. It very quickly wet the bottom of the burrito, and made eating it a race against time before the entire thing disintegrated! We went during their soft opening and they seem like they are running things well already. The staff are welcoming and attentive. Food: Crab Cake Benedict with Hashbrowns: 4.0/5 My choice for brunch today was the benedict. It comes with 2 crab cakes, avocado & poached eggs on an English muffin, topped with hollandaise sauce. I lean more on savory foods for brunch and I love to try and compare different benedicts from all my brunch places that I go to. This one was quite good. Their crab cake benedict is interesting because I see that most of the meat itself is just imitation crab versus the actual crab or even crab in a can. This perhaps makes it more affordable. Personally, I would prefer the crab meat, but I can't say I'm complaining too much about the imitation crab because it is quite good. The different components are seasoned well all around. My one note is the hash brown. For me, this really does need some additional seasoning and ketchup. Most people may differ in preferences and opinions, but this is just how I like my potatoes. The eggs were nicely poached and of course, had the runny yolk upon cutting into it. Gardens' Gate Scramble with a side of pancake: xx My friend's choice today. She got this and a pancake on the side. The pancake does come with an additional $2 upcharge, but you do have the option to choose either toast or tortillas without the additional cost. This item comes with scrambled eggs, ground beef, onions, spinach, mushrooms, topped with swiss cheese and avocado with the choice of hash browns or country fries. Seems to be one of the leaner options, higher in protein, and balanced. I didn't try this item today, but she liked hers with some ketchup on the side. The pancake was nice and fluffy, good thickness, beautiful light golden brown on both sides, and worked well with the maple syrup, butter, dollop of whipped topping, and a sprinkle of that powdered sugar. Country Fried Steak and Eggs: xx My other friend's item that she got today. I didn't try this, but from her review, it was very filling and the gravy was good. This item comes with 3 eggs of any style, country gravy, and baked biscuits. She chose sunny side up eggs with hashbrowns today. I did end up getting a spot in the parking lot of the supermarket. People do go in and out of there enough. It took around 10 minutes for me though. Of note, there is a connecting parking lot. Kind of sketchy because the small building itself is currently not occupied. Small lot, however there's another lot for a business that is no longer there that people were parking at. I believe there are signs that say parking is allowed there. We came today to try out this place for the positive reviews. No wait for a table on a Saturday. Our server was Daniel I think? He had braces. He was very nice. We ordered the French toast breakfast platter and a kid's meal. From ordering to receiving our food, it took OVER AN HOUR! We weren't communicated why it took so long. Several tables around us were waiting an hour too. Had I known it would take over an hour to get our food, I would have left. My kids were starving and kept asking why it was taking so long. We were seated at 12 and didn't get our food until 1:20pm. There were parties that arrived after us, who got their food and ate their food and left, even before we got our food. We never got an explanation what took so long or anything. Pretty unacceptable IMO. Food: the French toast breakfast platter was ok. The original French toast was good. But the cinnamon French toast was just a piece of dry cinnamon roll with powdered sugar and syrup. The croissant French toast was a croissant lightly dipped in egg I think? It was dry also. We didn't finish the entire platter. I would recommend you skip the French toast platter. I still ended up tipping 18% because our server was a nice kid, but a visit from the restaurant manager to explain why there was a long wait and apology would have been nice.
