I always enjoy Gators wings. I especially enjoy this Lake Baldwin location. It's nestled upon quaint shops and other eateries and gorgeous landscaping all the way around. I love just to sit outside and look at the lake also. The staff is always friendly and the food is always scrumptious. I had to take away one star because the waitress was supposed to bring me wings to take home AFTER we had eaten our dinners. Unfortunately, they came out BEFORE our food even arrived. Decent service, decent food - absolutely no complaints from me. We have come to this location in several instances to enjoy a few football games or grab a quick bite. We have never had any issues being seated or waited on. The wait staff is usually very nice and accommodating, with overall great service. We have never had any issues with food or drinks either. It's bar food, so don't expect too much. As someone who's default meal is boneless wings and french fries, I really can't complain. The wings are good and sauced just right. They give a good portion of fries. It's all good to me. I also really enjoy their spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer. I frequently go to this location since I live close by, and it is the only bar/restaurant that our kids enjoy themselves too. The food is ok, and so is the service. The main reasons why we go to Gators Dockside is the arcade, and often they will do the elementary school fundraisers, so we go to support the school. The kids always enjoy themselves here, the play in the arcade games and keep themselves very entertained. We always order a pitcher to share amongst friends and the lake view is good too. You never know what kind of service you will get, I guess it all depends on the waitresses mood... The outdoors area is nice, it's is airy and you can choose to sit on the bar inside or out, since thy have the bar top on either side. The desserts are ok too. Very solid sportsbar with a kitschy Florida theme (I wasn't prepared for all of the gator heads hanging on the wall, but now you are). It's a good kind of place to go if you need a menu that will please lots of folks or if you want a decent bite but didn't think to make a reservation anywhere else. This location has a pretty view of Lake Baldwin, but most tables won't get to take advantage of it. I came here on a busy Sunday towards the end of regular season football -- fun atmosphere, but not totally crazy if you don't care about the game. I've been to plenty of gators around Orlando and then we moved out to Mount Dora. We tried this one and it's the worst of at least 5 we've been to. We like Gator's grilled wings, but the customer service here is seriously lacking. We've been twice now for a football game and World Cup match. Both times we had to ask 3-4 times to get the right channel on and sound for the game. These were not FSU, UF, or NFL games, but other teams and no crowd at all in the place. Manager hides out in the back doing who knows what, while I had to track down and ask numerous times to put the correct games on. We'll try other options for sports in the future. read more

Went in a big group. Location is awesome and fun. Service was okay. The waitress didn't know much about the drink selection and we had to ask several times for kids menus. When this place originally opened it had amazing service but now it's pretty poor. From the hostess right down to the waitress. The service is slow which doesn't make sense because you see staff standing around talking and joking around with one another. I've been holding off writing this review in hopes that my times here will get better because I was a huge fan of gators up in Gainesville. Unfortunately, it's only getting worse. I'm hoping things will pick up and get better for football season. It just a shame because the location is so close. The wings are a bit small and I wouldn't recommend the boneless because 9 times out of 10 they're about 70% bread. The food is always ok and the drink specials are great. I have to say, it's been a long time since I've been into this bar, and the first time since it's changed to Gator's. It's clean, doesn't smell like a "bar" like the last one did, updated bathrooms. There is TONS of room, it's very spacious and the ceilings are really high so it looks even bigger. The bar was clean, open and organized. I didn't eat any food, only had a few drinks at the bar. I love the "open" window bar that leads to the outside so you can enjoy the views of Baldwin Park. Cannot beat the location of this place! Staff was friendly, and kind. Prices are good for that area as well. I'm giving them 4 stars until I return and order food, then i'll update my review with more details on what I think! American style wing joints/sports bars are all over, especially in Orlando but I am partial to Gators. The location is pretty accessible and located in great spot right by the lake in Baldwin. The beer is ice cold with a good variety and the option to get your own tower for tableside refills. The wings have a variety of cooking styles and flavors and you *can* mix sauces. I am partial to the grilled wings with hot garlic sauce. It's probably the best place to catch a game and grab a beer in the Baldwin area. read more

This is our go to place to watch football and/or get a very reasonably priced meal out. Food is above average for a sports bar, service is always excellent, so many TVs it's easy to see your game no matter who your team is (Go Vikings!). Though we do try to get there early is we have a larger party. The outside patio /bar is also a great place to enjoy the Fall and Winter weather. Great choice of draft and bottle beers, and family-friendly with games for the kids, family/ nights and a diverse kids menu. I went to celebrate my birthday with my family, I Had a bad experience. There was a chewed up straw in my drink after I drank a quarter of it I found it. It was a Sunday and the first weekend after they moved into the former Milliken's Reef, which had been our favorite port restaurant. It was a huge disappointment. We had to wait forever for our meals and when they came, they were cold and virtually tasteless and dry. The pork tacos were dry and poorly seasoned. Even the taco chips were stale. The pina colada tasted good but had absolutely no rum in it that I could tell. Maybe after they have settled in, the food will be better. As for now, it is just another over-priced sports bar where the emphasis is on the bar profits and big screens surrounding the entire interior rather than quality and presentation of good food. We like to go here on Tuesday when the kids eat free. the food has mostly huge portions, except for the boneless wings. Those are a bit small, so if you're wanting to share with your table, order more than you think you'll need. There are lots of televisions, on the day we go they're mostly set to cartoons. I have to imagine this is likely specific to the kids eat free day but it's a good way to have the kids wait patiently for their food. My kids also love the activity menus that are provided, in the shape of a hat no less. Also, on Tuesday, Hiccup the clown of Snip it and Friends comes in and provides free face painting and balloon animals, which my kids adore and always look forward to. (Of course, you should always tip this lovely clown for a job well done.) We've experienced some lovely staff and some super rude staff, but I'm willing to deal with occasional bad attitudes if my kids eat free. read more

I can't even believe what happened tonight. To start We ordered wings and fries, we noticed our food was brought to the table beside us multiple children and adults grabbed wings, they realized it was not their food and put the wings back onto the plate. The wings got returned to the kitchen and the fries stayed. A minute later the wings came back out to our table and I happened to notice they where the same exact wings that had been set and touched by the other group Of people. They remade our order after this, but when it came time to pay, they gave us a free 5$ desert. Forget the 50$ of wings that I ordered or the fact that you tried to get away with giving me wings that had been handled by other customers. In my opinion the entire meal should be comped. Almost can't even believe that this would happened. It amazes me a chain would try to pull that stunt. I would like to start off by saying I am 21 years old. I came here to grab a quick snack with my sister who is 16 because I am only in town for 1 day. I ordered an alcoholic drink which the server did check my ID. While I was eating the manger approached me in a very rude way and asked to see my ID and my sisters, she was only drinking water. My wife was not feeling her best this morning but since she was feeling better in the afternoon, I asked her to join me at Gators Dockside. I figured she could work on her studies while I met with a client. Unfortunately, my client was unable to make it so we chose to get something to eat there. As my wife was working on her studies I chose to get some food. I had not realized that they had changed bartenders while I was working on my computer. I noticed that the WIFI was unusually slow but since I was just checking email and working offline, it was not a big deal. When I spoke to my wife, I found out it made it hard for her to access her online material. I asked about the soup of the day and clam chowder is not one of my favorites so I asked about what he thought about the fried pickles and gator tail. To my surprise I was told that the portion of gator was not worth the money and to get the fried pickles. I have had the gator and the portion was appropriate in my opinion but I opted to go with his recommendation. That was the first time I had a server at ANY Gator's DOWN SELL their menu. I had already made up my mind that I wanted the Sauteed Shrimp Mac n Cheese. My fried pickles came up in about 15 minutes and I have to say... They were amazing. Usually you get wimpy pickles with a thick breading but the pickles I was served were nice and thick. The breading was a bit thicker than expected but given the thickness of the pickle slices, it was perfect. The breading was lightly seasoned allowing the flavor of the pickle to be the star. The ranch dressing to dip it in could have been a bit thicker but with or without the ranch dressing, they were good. Next up was the Sauteed Shrimp Mac n cheese and I was not expecting anything special but I like a pleasant surprise. The shrimp were a bit past the "Pop" but had a nice flavor. The pasta was just a wee bit past al dente and for a dish like this, that is expected. The cheese sauce had a nice flavor and was not overly salty. I was pleased with it but not blown away. While I was almost done with my meal, one of the managers, Mike P. came over to check on me. He was very interested in my feedback and not at all defensive. Mike and his other manager were candid about the reason for the slowness and it was understandable. Sometimes things happen that are beyond control and to be fair, this was the first time it has ever been slow. After my wife returned, I asked him to come over and let her inform him about the lack of service on one section of the patio. It affected 3 tables tables and he seemed genuinely concerned about that. He had a fire going on and needed to go handle business but it is easy to see that he is a very good manager. My wife ordered some wings but since she did not let me taste them or take a pic of them, they are not getting Yelped... lol But I will say... She picked every piece of meat off the bones... *wink* Overall, Gator's runs a tight ship. I have tried most of the food at 2 of their locations and have never had to send anything back. In all of my trips to this location, the service is CONSISTENT from where I sit and that is important. Their grilled wings, burgers and gator tail are MY personal favorites.... read more

If I could give a lower rating I would!!!! Came in once for some sweet Thai chili grilled wings and they were cold and tasteless. I complain about it and they said they would remake my order. When they brought out the 2nd batch of wings they didn't even grill them! Wings came out looking like raw wings dipped in sauce. They take them back and cook them and they still tasted like trash. I was too hungry to care so I still payed. Came in again on a Wednesday with some friends for some unlimited boneless wings. Food took a really long time to come out but I didn't mind too much since I was with the bros. But when everything came out, everything was straight up cold. Even the fries were cold. Not warm! not room temperature! Cold! I complain to the waiter and he was really nice and said he would take care of it and have another order of wings come out in 10-15 minutes. We then almost wait another 40m for the 2nd batch of wings to come out and everything came out cold again. We then asked the waiter to taste one of the wings and he wouldn't even eat it because when we gave him one of the wings, he could tell it was cold just by holding it. He then grabs a manager and the manager told us he would only charge us 50% of the full price. We agreed upon the 50% because we were soo hungry that we were still going to eat the wings anyways. But after a wing or 2 hoping that some might be a little warm or even maybe the fries..... nope! Still sht! So we didn't eat anything else on our plates and we called for the manager again to tell him that we won't even eat any wings even though we were starving and 2hrs had gone by. He was then really upset and pissy about it and making me feel really uncomfortable by the way he was handling the situation. He still wanted us to pay half the price of the wings even though we just sat here for 2hrs and didn't eat a thing. After insisting that we wouldn't pay he finally gave in and told us to have a good day and walked away saying "next time when we agree on something, I expect you to go through with it" Wasted 2hrs of my day! And I don't even feel comfortable going back in there because of the manager. All the waiters there were really nice! And still tipped our waiter! read more

Really disappointing meal. This is the second time we've been here and it will definitely be the LAST. Food is very bland with zero flavor without any creativity. Even my 7 year old was disappointed with a simple fettuccine marinara kids pasta. He only liked the smiley fries. They have great drink specials during the weekends so that would be worth the trip but don't expect to be wowed by the food. I had the shrimp po boy, that was all bread and my mom had the veggie burger (big mistake) that had zero flavor and was very dry. We asked for a side of sauce to give it more flavor. The prices are low, which makes the meal more digestible, but not worth the energy. I would rather pay a little more money for better quality food with more flavor and thought to it. read more

If you have been to any of the Gator's Dockside at all, then you probably know what to expect. I will say that the new Gator's Dockside in Baldwin Park differs a bit due to a better craft beer selection. I am just saying "better" not "awesome". I did see Fat Tire and a Terrapin selection. But I chose the 1.75 Budweiser drafts. My wife and I went to watch the Michigan/Michigan State game. We had no idea Florida/Georgia was playing as well. It was packed!!! We still did find two seats at the bar. Game on! We were watching the entire game at the bar, until with 3:00 minutes left, a manager changed the channel to a new football game. WHAT! WHAT!. Never change the game until it is over. Yes, we could turn around and watch the game on another TV, but we had been sitting there all day. The bartendar basically shrugged his shoulders at us and ignored us. I know it was not his fault, but he needs to communicate with the manager for us. Will I go back? Probably not. If you are running a sports bar, and you change the channel before a game ends, you simply have no business running a sports bar. If you don't know that simple rule, you probably don't know many other rules of the business. read more

I always feel like I've gone back to college and a frat party when I come to Gators Dockside. We brought a friend from Houston to the Stepford-Wives-ish Baldwin Park because he was craving boneless chicken wings. I think a boneless chicken would be a sacrilege, but it's what he wanted.... We sat on the patio which is a little quieter than inside the main restaurant. We had fried gator tail as an appetizer. It tastes like chicken with the consistency of calimari. The breading was light and flavorful. I had a side salad with ranch dressing, French fries, and 10 wings (buffalo, grilled, all flats). Houston Boy got 6 boneless wings with the hottest sauce available. A third person had the California chicken sandwich. We all complained that the fries were a little heavy with the salt. But everything else was good. My wings were a touch greasy to have been grilled, and the buffalo sauce was a little too light. That doesn't mean I didn't eat every one of them with my blue cheese dressing though. The highlight of dinner was Houston Boy's expressions as he ate the boneless wings with the hottest of the hot sauces. It took him 40 minutes to get through 6 wings. The struggle is real. He cried. He sweated. He said they were great, but the rest of us were too scared to try them. A good neighborhood bar with hot wings and lots of televisions showing sports. What's not to like? The only reason they lose a star is because the server seemed more into socializing with co-workers than bringing more water for our burning Houston Boy. read more

I love the Baldwin Park area, and I was excited to finally stop in at Gator's Dockside. Stopped in for a dinner on a busy Friday night. We were told we had a slight wait, so we decided to take a seat at the bar and order a drink while waiting. Gator's has some great drink specials. Specials that go on all day everyday. I noticed they had Bacardi specials 2 for $5, and they also had many great shot specials for $3. I am not much of a liquor drinker, so I went with a craft beer. There is a decent selection of craft beer here. Make sure you look at both ends of the bar. I only looked at the taps that were directly in front of me, and it wasn't until later that I noticed several other beers way at the end. We only had to wait about ten minutes to be seated. The menu is pretty good. It was a standard menu burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, and some dinner entrees. I went with a fish taco wrap and my dinner companion had a cheeseburger and a bowl of chili. The fish in the wrap was dried out. The burger was your standard burger. Our server was very nice but also very busy. My dinner companion ordered another drink while eating, but he ended up finishing his entire meal without a drink. When the server came back to check on us we could tell she just forget to put it in. She tried blaming it on the bartender by commenting on why he never brought it over. This restaurant was packed and very very loud. It was so loud and I had to almost yell to be heard. It is a great space, but since the layout is so open, I think noise will always be an issue. Don't come here if you plan on having a conversation with your date. Overall, everything was just average. Nothing really stood out as being great. I would come back Gator's again. I think the drink specials alone might bring me back. read more

I went to Gator's in Baldwin Park within the first week of its opening, and the service was shotty. We could tell the waiter was not extremely familiar with the layout, menu, etc. However, the wings are fantastic (as they are at every Gator's location we've ever been to). This location also has a much better selection of craft beer than the Winter Springs location we went to a few months ago. I had Bell's Two Hearted, and my husband had New Belgium Fat Tire. They also had Stone, Angry Orchard, and Sweetwater offerings. The best thing about this location (versus the previous restaurant) is its layout! The bar guests face the lake at Harbor Park, and the windows facing the lake are visible to almost every table. It's a gorgeous setting. They also revamped the outdoor seating to accommodate more of the sunset-viewers. Lastly, there are large TV's everywhere. You practically cannot miss a game if you go to Gator's! We'll definitely be back. This is by far the best hangout within Baldwin Park. read more

I waited to write this review after 3 visits here. The first time I ordered take out at about 12 Midnight, after leaving a party. I live in Baldwin Park, so it's great to have a place within walking distance that serves food so late. I've always been a fan of Gator's wings at other locations, especially their grilled wings. So I ordered them again from past experiences. When I got home, I noticed the quality of the wings were so so, as in smaller than usual compared to the great Gator's wings I've had in the past. My only guess is it was the end of the day and they gave me the runt wings from the bottom of the barrel. The second time was during lunch on a weekend. The place was pretty crowded and we were lucky to get a seat outside. I again ordered the grilled wings, with the hot garlic sauce. I'm not sure what happened, but I must have received the wrong order, because they weren't grilled and weren't hot garlic. I was so hungry at the time, that I just accepted what I received. The 3rd time I went, they finally got my order correct. I ordered grilled, hot garlic wings again, and I received grilled, hot garlic wings! Yay me! They were also the high quality wings I've had in other locations. Other than the wings, the service and location are great. I'll just agree with others, that it can get loud inside. So, with that, I'm going to give this place 4 stars, with hopes that my first couple visits were a fluke. We ate here yesterday for the burger Thursday deal and it was terrible. Our server was nice but the food took forever to come out (burgers on burger day!) and the place was empty! So it was confusing as to why it took so long. Then when our food arrived, some of it was cold and my husbands order was wrong after a super long wait. Then he had to wait (again) for a new burger. Quality of the food was not good either. Luckily it was $8 burgers so it wasn't expensive but it was definitely not worth it. I'm pretty disappointed in this Gators. Came in here for lunch one day. This gators dockside is very clean to compare to other locations and much nicer. It has indoor and outdoor seating with a great view of Lake Baldwin. They are known for the wings, but I ended up getting the swiss and mushroom burger. It was cooked to my liking, very juicy and delicious! It did not disappoint.
