My gf and I have gone there three times, the first two times we had horrible service and so we complained online and they said we could come by any day at any time and they would take care of the whole bill. We came in tonight and the first woman manager was nice and our server Angie was amazing. The first manager left half-way through the time there and a new manager, Jeff, came in and treated us way differently than all the other people and was super rude to us from the first time he talked to us and he cursed at us and was treating us as lesser than the tables that were all white next to us (we are an interracial couple). I went there on 2/4/2022. I ordered fish and substituted fries for mozzarella sticks. when I left the restaurant and got on the highway I opened my container and noticed it was soggy underneath the fish and it had no type of flavor at all. Do not sit in area near doors to smoking Patio. Every time the door opens the stench of the cigarettes is so nasty you will loose your appetite. We were able to move out by the front window and it wasn't as bad. Food was good and service was good. We don't go out as much Amy more, but nice to see their service is on a good cycle. Tonight was our first time ever eating at Gators Dockside although I've heard about them. I'm very particular about my wings so I don't try many places. Jake our server was great and make suggestions regarding the menu. He was very attentive and made several trips to our table to make sure we were okay. I was super excited about going here since it had been about three years and I used to love this place. I walked in with my boyfriend we got seated immediately and we noticed there was no beer list. It was very warm day so course that was what we were drinking. There is a sign on the door letting you know when you first walked in that they are short-staffed. I really appreciated them letting you know that up front. The server was fantastic very friendly and very attentive to everything we needed. The food was good for it being a mid-end restaurant. Only complain I had was the hostess was kind of snooty and irritated when we asked for a table instead of a booth. This is one of those restaurants you have to come back to because of the atmosphere and the food. We ordered the nachos as our appetizer and the portion we got was way more than enough to share with 4 people. My husband and I shared the Gator Platter which has a half rack of ribs, 5 wings and fried gator tail with 2 sides and garlic bread. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the crispy wings with chipotle honey bbq sauce had the perfect kick of spice! Surprise, good vegan meal here!I wasn't too hopeful of getting a good meal here. Being allergic to animal protein, I am vegan. When I am out with family, it can be hard to find a meal I can eat and everyone who is not Vegan wants to eat there. I don't usually like to eat pasta but I don't always want a salad because most places like this don't offer great salads. When I asked the waiter, he told me they didn't have a black bean burger or any kind of hot Vegan meal per se, but he recommended the shrimp pasta sans the shrimp and they could add in all kinds of veggies.
