I have been to multiple locations, but this one is officially my favorite! I've been here twice in the last month, and both times my server, Daimyan, has made it a truly personal experience. This location was a little off from where I needed to go but well worth the drive. I'm hooked to this place. To pick my entree and what does in it and then to watch them cook it is the best. I prefer this over other grills and it's a decent price. They are all structured the same. I would have given a 5 star rating but I walked in and was ignored for 2 mins, he thought I was an employee, hah. Then I get to the food and they don't have scallops....boooooooooooo. the guy that took our order was nice and was very considerate to ask for any food allergies. However whenever we we're getting our food, there was shrimp all in the salmon and i had politely asked if there was another bowl that we can have considering my boyfriend has a shellfish allergy to which the girl behind the counter said they didn't have any more in the back to give. It was 2 1/2 hours until closing time, i just don't believe that. She didn't even go back to check. Also I had just gone back to put chicken in my bowl (because i forgot) I was told by the same girl that i wasn't allowed to do that? I was just in that section 30 seconds before i had even moved? and there was absolutely no one behind me. The cooks also disregarded my bf's shellfish allergy and had cooked our food close in proximity, we were finding some of my toppings in his bowl and he couldn't eat his food at all. I just ordered a medium Mongolian steak bowl to go. I usually build my own and it's ok but the app was messing up so I just ordered one of theirs. When I open it it's almost entirely rice with a layer of meat and veggies on top. The rice was very dry and I couldn't taste any seasoning on the steak. My first bite of steak was so tough I spit it out. My second bite was so bland I barely choked it down and threw the rest in the trash. read more

I've come to this place a few times and each time we decided to take our food to go. The smell alone in this place makes me feel sick to my stomach. We went last night and I couldn't get past the mildew-wet towel-sewage smell. This isn't the first time I noticed it, last night it was really bad. The food is good and the area where you make your bowls are kept clean; however, the smell alone is enough to turn you off. Why am I giving 5 starts to a place where you prep you're own food? Because it's just awesome!! I have been to Mongolian BBQ before, but it was always secondary to a buffet or a sushi restaurant. This place is Mongolian BBQ only and it rocks! You start by picking from more than 8 proteins and then add as much as you want from 8 different spices, throw in some veggies, pick a sauce (or three) and choose a noodle or rice to put it all on. Once you pass your mix off it's cooked up for you and served in a great big bowl. I was pleased with the freshness of everything, the service, and my awesome ability to mix together yummy ingredients. I just wish we had a place like this closer to home :( read more

Where to start is really the question. So many options, it could be overwhelming if not so fun. Great family outing not only for the food, where we moms can sneak in several servings of vegetables, but sitting next to the grill keep the little ones entertained as well. I went to this restaurant for the first time for lunch with my husband. The husband has been here on numerous occassions and loves the place. The place is okay, nothing spectacular. Good price for the amount of food. You pick your own meats, spices, sauces and they cook it for you. My husband noticed they took down the board which makes suggestions on how to make certain bowls. The service was good. Our waiter was very attentive. The only downside was the area where the food was stored was not clean. I'll probably come here again when I want some cheap eats. read more

hubby and i went to genghis grill last night... i must tell you it was amazing!! the food bar was stocked, meat and vegetables were fresh! had so many choices i went crazy!! the chef cooked the food great. it was less than an hour before closing time and the restaurant was clean, waitress very nice! will return soon! read more

This is by far the worst experience I had at any genghis grill locations. I went in for a to go order then when I got home there was hardly any rice. When I called the location and ask to talk to the manager, a man named, Anthony answered and I told him that I had barely any rice. His response was so condescending and rude, "Well sir, are you aware that the regular size bowl only comes with 6oz." How was I suppose to know that. Anywho I then proceed to ask for corporate number since he was unwilling to help me or accommodate me. Oh wait he wanted me to come back in to get more rice but he would charge me for more rice. Then I get put on hold then he comes back to tell me he pulled my ticket up and then goes to say that my server gave me free drinks. I got a water and a Sprite but guess what that's not my fault she didnt charge for the drinks. I just want my meal to be correctly portioned with the amount of chicken I got. Then he gives me corporates number and goes on to say that if I call corporate he will have video pulled up of me getting free drinks. So he is using scare tactics to scare me into not calling yeah right. I would like an IMMEDIATE RESPONSE and some action taken on this incident. read more

Last time I went to this place I think I got food poisoning from their squid, that was back in 2011. I was really sick for a couple of days and probably should have gone to the hospital. I used to go to this place quite a bit with a colleague from work & liked their beer mug deal. With the deal you got to take home one of their tall beer mugs for free. Over the past few times that we went I did notice that their food quality was getting worse & worse so I'm staying away & probably should have stayed away the last few times that I noticed this. One of the best discoveries I made in Texas! I came here with my family and we all really enjoyed Genghis! It's not your usual order and receive type of restaurant... You make your way to the back and put a bunch of random meats, vegetables, spices and sauces into a bowl and then they cook it for you! They also give you a menu so that if you have no idea what you want you can just throw the ingredients listed on the menu into your bowl. So cool to watch them cook your food! Not really a place that I would re-visit. Maybe my expectations were too high or maybe it was the fact that they didn't have any nuts to add to my bowl. Who eats stir-fry without a cashew, peanut or almond on something? Anyway, the food was ok but I so missed the nuts to add some crunch to my meal that I really disliked the food. I was with 3 other people and each of them was kind of blah about it too. Definitely a great concept they just are missing some key ingredients from their selection. So my brother-in-law has been telling me about how great this place is so we finally went today and it was delicious. What more could you want? You walk in grab a metal bowl, you then fill this bowl with as much meat, veggies, and spices you can, pick a sauce(sweet and sour, BBQ, teriyaki, etc..) and a choice of different rices or noodles then you give it to them to fry up on a GIANT frying pan! you can even watch them cook it if you'd like. The service at this particular restaurant was nice and friendly, but we also went around 2pm when it wasn't busy at all. If you like Asian stir-fry, I say give GG a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

The food is good but the bowls are a bit overpriced. I normally go to HuHot but I was in Dallas and decided to try this place. I was under the impression that there was a bottomless option but, to my disappointment, there was not. Our server was good and apologetic about the missing bottomless option. There wasn't much beef on the buffet line and I got enough. However, I would've liked more but I didn't feel like waiting for them to replenish it. I prefer the bottomless option because you can try different dishes and sauces. I'm not sure what happens if you make a dish here and you don't like it. Do they allow you to go through again? I do like that they have egg which huhot does not. I think that should be pretty standard at any mongolian grill. All in all, the food was good, the restaurant was clean for the most part, and the service was attentive but I will not be coming back here unless it's someone else's idea or unless they bring back the bottomless bowl. read more

I like the concept and great selections. Cons: the food area was messy and the various selections were mixed with each other. My first bowl fell because the trays don't sit right on the tray lip but they were very nice about it. It was obvious we didn't not like the drinks we were served (tasted like cough syrup) and waiter never offered to fix the situation, $13 dollars down the drain. read more

I love this place. The options are amazing so I never get bored. You basically go down a line and choose your raw meat from many different options, then veggies/fruits, then sauce and other things. they cook it all for you and bring it in a large bowl (S, M, or L). I have been here 10+ times and it has never failed me. Its not only delicious, but I find it fun to essentially make it yourself (because you choose everything one by one). This Ganghis Grill is my FAVORITE one. I live closer the the Ganghis at NorthEast mall but I take the drive just because I love the business and employees at this ganghis. The food at Ganghis is delicious I could eat some everyday! The waiters here are very friendly and the cook helps you choose things if your a first timer. This place its a great place for a date. You get to have fun making your own food and it taste delicious. You can put as much food as you want on your bowl. Don't be shy stack it up high that way you'll have enough food. Don't worry it's okay to get a little messy. I always get the medium bowl and I get full off that bowl and sometime have to take a to go box from how much food it is. But this Ganghis is the BEST on in the dfw area. It's a must go! read more

Went here this afternoon 9/09/18 ordered a to go bowl. Restaurant wasn't busy but this regular size bowl took 30 min to prepare. Longest I've ever waited for a Genghis Grill to go order. Especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy at all. When they finally finished they placed the order in the to go bowl and no server brought it to me. I was shocked to see five employees just standing around talking with each other. I picked up my own to go order from the counter and none of these employees ever noticed or responded. Finally I walked over and asked if I could at least get a bag to put it in. Someone at least gave me a bag. But they put zero condiments in it. Won't recommend this location and only hope management takes a more hands on approach here. Workers standing around and neglecting service speaks volumes about customer service here. read more

Cool concept but extremely confusing. We were first timers and have no idea on how anything worked!! Nobody even explained anything to us when we first walked in. We were wandering around the restaurant trying to figure out what to do until we were so confused we had to find someone to point us in the right direction. Nobody explained the food menu to us, when it came to the sauces I thought they were sauces for the side, I picked out three sauces I wanted to try and turns out the sauces were poured all over my food while it's cooking... I wish I knew that!! But nobody explained anything to me I even had to ask the lady if she was the one to put food in our bowls or if we served ourselves.. anyways my food was ruined drenched in all of the sauce to the point I couldn't even eat it. Recently my daughter, son-in-law and I stopped for a Saturday afternoon lunch. Having never been there before we were given instrucions on how to fill our bowls. We were all grossed out by the raw meats in open containers..can you say "cross contamination". After attempting to choose a spice and sauce that sound like it would go together, yes they have charts but when people are waiting on you to make a choice it is hard to pick the right combination. We waited for our food to arrive at the table wondering what we had just done.. After a couple forks full and trying each other bowls we decided that the food tasted like something that we would have cooked at home. Our waitress Britney was great. She's the reason for the 2nd star to be honest. When I went to get & fill my bowl there were no labels for any of the meats or vegetables. The person giving bowls had to be asked what meats were in which compartments. The spices were a major mess. The labels for the spices were mixed up and not all of them could be seen. The tongs this Genghis had were the WORST I've ever used. They were hard to use because they didn't come together and they were like spoons in shape. If I would've filled my bowl the way I should've been able to - it would have taken more than the time it should've taken. Handing in the bowl in was another bad experience. The cooks were not attentive (like I'm used to experiencing at other Genghis Grills). When I handed in my bowl I wasn't asked which 2 starches I wanted. I had to tell them. When I asked if they had eggs I got a nod and had to talk to the guys back when I asked for the amount of eggs I wanted. I asked if he got it/heard me & with his back still to me - I got another nod. The food was just OK. It is usually excellent - at the other Grills. I will not be returning to this Genghis & I wouldn't recommend it to others. read more

Food was pretty good and the way you get your bowl ready was interesting and fun, but it's a little too pricey for the amount of food you receive. If you've ever heard of Ton's it's the same, way cheaper and they give you free Icecream, just a cheaper looking atmoshere. My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary last night. I was looking forward to it because I had eaten here several times before about 5 years ago. We both got small endless bowls. For my first bowl, I had the baby scallops, the marinated fish and the squid. The scallops tasted very fishy and were extremely soggy. I'm guessing that going there on a Wednesday maybe wasn't the best idea because the turnaround would be much lower than on a weekend when they expect more people. After having my food cooked, it tasted burnt. Like the grill wasn't being cleaned enough. My 3rd bowl was terrible, I didn't eat it at all, after asking if they could please not cook the vegetables that long, I got broccoli which was almost raw (which was great for the texture) BUT somehow the cook STILL managed to burn my broccoli. Our server's name was Zak and he was very friendly and helpful. A few hours later, my stomach started gurgling and I ended up in the bathroom half the night with terrible cramps and cold sweat, with what I am assuming was a mild case of food poisoning, I knew the scallops tasted TOO fishy. I am very disappointed because not only were the prices a LOT higher than 5 years ago, but now I also got sick after eating there. I'm sad to say that I won't be going back here ever again, even though I love stir-fry. read more
