a plate of noodles and vegetables

I've been wanting to write a review to this place because they have been my holy grail during the pandemic LOL. The Mongolian Grill near my house is closed but Gengis Khan is open.. and I need my Mongolian grill fix here and there. LET ME TELL YOU A BACKSTORY (really quick) I have been eating Mongolian grill at the Burbank mall since I was like in the 3rd grade, and I'm going to be almost 30 soon LOL SO, if there is any place that can somewhat replicate the same taste and flavors it's definitely here. I've ordered here in person about 2 times and through Postmates twice as well. The service is wonderful, the cashier in the front both times I went were extremely kind and the cooks, well the cooks, I always applaud them because they are the ones cooking for us and using a lot of energy throughout the day in front of the hot grill. As far as my Postmates experience goes, the drivers have both times have been wonderful and bring the food right away so it's always hot and the noodles are not too soggy when they arrive (but I'm not too picky about this because it's delivery and I know it's not going to be the same as eating it right away). Portion wise, they are really good about packing in the food for you and the amount of food you get in the end is ENORMOUS. I'm sure the Burbank mall Mongolian grill would NOT pack it this much for us LOL, honestly. So, for that, I definitely give them 5 stars for giving us such a large portion. The ONLY reason I am putting 4 stars is because sadly, the flavor (although really good), I actually still think the one in the Burbank mall has a bit more flavor in it. BUT MAYBE IM BIAS, idk, I have been going to that one for like 20 years+ LOL. Look, all I'm saying is, if you need your fix, this place will definitely do it for you, AND they are extremely kind here (the Burbank mall service is a bit lack luster, definitely their cooks are the stars there). THANKS FOR READING Y'ALL

My review is based om Service, clealiness and quality. Service: Superb! Handsdown above and beyond. Sharon was phenomenal and a true example of understanding, compassionate, accomodating and professional. I normally prep my own food because I'm quit particular. When we paid we started prepping our bowls.. Naturally" for mee I started backwards- as I normally do. Mind you this was the first time at the establishment for me and I didnt know the rules per say. The owner approached me and asked how she may accommodate me after seeing I was struggling and changed my mind and needed to go elsewhere. Instead she was compassionate and attentive to my needs. What a beautiful reminder of great humanity. Cleanliness: the place is SPOTLESS! I MEAN SPOTLESS!!! I would eat off their counters! And no one is standing around. Quality: FRESHNESS! you can just see the freshness and quality. Xoxo Ryobi-Shayne

Looking for a quick lunch? Look no further! I've seen this place when I pass by since I work out next door. The last time when I was hanging out at one of those tables, I saw a lot of people in line for lunch. I looked this place up on yelp and didn't see many reviews but made a mental note to try it out one day. After leaving the gym, I decided to take a quick peek at the menu, it was probably 1:45pm by this point and I saw a man getting food here and I was greeted by Drew who asked me if I had any questions. Ruby was close by, cleaning the area and was very polite and explained to me how it worked. You fill up your own bowl with meats and veggies then the chef will load up noodles and sauce for you and cook it right there in front of you! Nothing is sitting under a heat lamp! The bowl is 10.99 before tax. I will definitely stuff it next time because the meats shrink after it's cook. I did get very full after this lunch and thought the noodles in the sauce was tasty! If you don't want a typical lunch like Panda Express or blaze then give this place a try! They also do take-away which is what I did but you still go through the process of loading up your bowl on the tray. Not sure how people with allergies will do here since it seems like it's all cooked on the big stove.

    Literally so delicious!

I had a terrible experience here and have to leave a one-star review…read more I have a serious allergy to many types of meat. The place was busy with about fifteen people in line. To be considerate, I let every single person go ahead of me so I wouldn't hold up the line while they cleaned the grill. I waited patiently until I was the very last customer with no one behind me. When it was finally my turn, I politely explained my allergy to the female cook and asked her to clean the grill before cooking my bowl. She immediately got an attitude and said "the grill's clean." I told her I had just watched her cook fifteen meat-heavy meals on it and again asked her to clean it. She said okay, finished the remaining orders, then grabbed my bowl and dumped it straight onto the dirty grill without cleaning it at all. She barely cooked my food for thirty seconds while everyone else's got several minutes. Her attitude was rude and nasty the entire time. When I pointed out she never cleaned the grill, she just said they were busy. I was so disgusted I walked straight to the trash and threw my entire meal away. I didn't even bother asking for a refund because I couldn't deal with her horrible attitude anymore. The male cook also speaks almost no English, making it hard to communicate special requests. The owners need to seriously retrain or replace their staff, ignoring serious food allergies is DANGEROUS and completely unacceptable.

LONG over due review. I have featured this restaurant in my Food Reviewing Dungeon Meshi panel that…read moreI hold at anime conventions for their hearty traditional Mongolian stews! Unique, traditional Mongolian dishes with wonderful service. It's so cool that you can see that the restaurant is a hub of culture and community as well. SoCal Mongolian community loves Arag. They have karaoke nights and other events that support the community (I think an attorney who works with the Mongolian community does events here too), so that's always a plus in my book. Love all of the traditional decor and knick knacks here as well as the M-pop and music videos that they play on TV too. We managed to find free parking nearby, so it is possible. For our later lunch, we got the: 1) Mongolian Hot Tea: -This was a salted milk tea when I had it. Very unique and the slight saltiness with the sweet milky taste is refreshingly different from other places. Definitely a bit of an acquired taste but I like it whenever I have it. 2) Deep Fried Flat Dumplings (Khuushuur): -Comes with 3 pieces, it's deep fried dumplings with your choice of protein in a crispy dough shell. We got the lamb offal since it's the most unique one that they had. I don't usually eat organ meat but this wasn't too iron-y or ammonia tasting like other times I've had organ meats and was seasoned to perfection. No weird texture either. -Every culture has some form of dumpling/hot pocket-esque food that is delicious and super easy to eat. This is a popular street food in Mongolia and you can easily see why. Moist delicious seasoned meat in a crispy dough shell? Say no more. -Comes with a small side of their slaw salad. 3) Smoked Stir-Fried Noodles with Beef Brisket: -This was our "main" entree with carbs and protein. -It's smoked Tsuvian (actual name of the dish) with traditionally prepared hand pulled and pan fried noodles, made with beef brisket and julienne carrots, zucchini, and homemade salted chives. -It's a simple dish you can find in many other cultures but the seasoning, the way the noodles are prepared, makes it delicious in it's own way. Perfect for those who want to try something new, but don't want to dive off of the deep end so quick. 4) Steamed Soup/Bituu Shul: -This is a traditional sealed soup with tender mutton, slow cooked in a sealed pot with wild herbs, garlic, and ginger. -Super unique dish and very eye catching. Seeing this on the menu I had to get it. You can drum the top of the dough with your spoon like a drum. Pretty fun! -It's a very flavorful broth soup that has a strong flavor of lamb and herbs. Perfect for a cold day or if you're feeling a bit under the weather. The dough pieces make for nice "pasta like noodles" for the soup. Lots of lamb meat pieces in it too. Definitely recommend, but next time I want to get borscht too since it's one of my favorite soups. A must for unique and delicious food!

Lovely family-owned business that is now takeout only, ordering at the counter is fast and friendly. While waiting you hear customers coming in for their usual orders or the phone that is always ringing for new pickup orders. Yea you can call ahead, but the food was prepared quickly (5-10 mins) both times so far. Salt and pepper tofu was bang on, crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. The seasoning was perfect, creating an addictive motion of piling on garnishes every time you reach for a new tofu. Classic garlic green beans, a solid vegetable dish that leaves you wanting more. Mongolian beef was well marinated, and so, extremely, tender. The mix of textures in the sweet, savoury sauce made for an once again, addictive eating experience. Love the variety of sides for the lunch special, will definitely be back for more. I've used the word addictive twice now, and it truly is the best way to put it. Authentic comfort food that haves you yearning for more, I'm glad to have found this gem and hope that I won't run out of menu to try.

Fuji itself was probably like 40-50% occupied and there was plenty of parking. For $37 (and 20% for seniors on Mon/Tues), I thought it was pretty worth for the amount of food we ate. - Korean rib (grill): thinly cut, tender, and nicely marinated (even when you don't ask for any special sauces). so yummy to eat it fresh off the grill - snow crab: i prefer eating this hot than chilled, and it hit the spot! meaty, sweet crab. they refilled this often - cajun seafood: not too salty! includes mussels, shrimps, thin corn cobs which I actually prefer - crawfish: nicely marinated and tasty but dry meat ); parents said the last time they had this here a month ago it was better - salmon sashimi was also restocked and tasted fresh - Fish maw soup/chowder: both were tasty as well - matcha ice cream: yummm - lots of fresh fruit options: blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, cherries even Other selections are standard and not bad. Dim Sum is unique but usually not done well so I didn't even bother. Chicken feet isn't bad tho Bathrooms could be cleaner and service was slooow. We maybe saw our waiter like 3 times? He only cleared our plates once and he never offered us water refills, which we had to actively flag him down for. It wasn't busy as it was a Monday and we were the only table in that seating area (lower level by the Mongolian grill)

The fried chicken was room temperature, the fries were mushy, the salt and pepper calamari was chewy and cold. The crab legs were the only item that was good, it wasn't overcooked, perhaps that's the benefit of the food not being hot in the buffet. Dishes were cleared but drinks were not refilled.
