Located in the de facto exterior food court of the Burbank Airport (right outside the entrance, where everyone stops before or after a flight to grab something to eat), George's has to compete against a bunch of corporate heavy hitters: Del Taco, McDonald's, Denny's, Panda Express, etc. It can't be easy for a privately owned spot, where the rent is probably sky high, and where there were precious few customers inside at the height of lunch hour on a Thursday (they all seemed to be at the other restaurants). That may account a bit for why the lady at the counter and the guy doing the cooking (I assume the owners) seemed to be in a sour mood. They weren't overtly unpleasant, but wouldn't win any awards for friendliness either. The space is roomy and well-maintained, with the usual Hellenic decor of fast-casual Greek places everywhere. The menu is fairly broad, with pita sandwiches, plates and salads, plus a large selection of mezze. The problem is, as others have mentioned, the prices are awfully high for fairly routine Mediterranean dishes that can be found all over the city. I had planned on getting a Greek salad with Gyro meat, but the $22 cost seemed kind of crazy -- and upon checking, the same dish at Joe's Falafel in Studio City is $6 less. Again, it may have to do with the rent, but nonetheless I didn't go for it. Instead, I ordered the Gyro Pita and a drink (also overpriced, but better). To be fair, the sandwich was generous, the veggies fresh, and the tzatziki sauce cool and tasty. The Gyro meat could have been hotter, but was freshly sliced, juicy and had good flavor. It was an enjoyable sandwich, and the atmosphere was fine. I should also mention that -- somehow -- this little place has gotten themselves a liquor license, and they have a full bar available. If I had a long layover, I might come out here for drinks instead of hanging at the airport bar. And maybe that's it. Maybe this isn't a place for locals passing by in their day-to-day and looking for a quick bite. Perhaps it's really for travelers coming and going from the terminals, who are already in the "airport prices" mode. If that's you, then you'll definitely get better food at George's than inside the airport or at any of the adjacent chains sharing the parking lot... and for that I wish these folks well. read more

Located in the outdoor food mall just outside of the airport on Hollywood Way. With a wide variety of traditional entrees, you can certainly find a dish you crave but at a higher price than average. For the cost, I expect a better quality. My favorites are the combination plates, I enjoy a little bit of everything. They're really pricey for what it is. You order at the counter and the super sweet lady brings you the food. Honestly, she only makes up for half of the price you pay. I ended up paying $34 for a drink and a rice platter. Times really have come to rough times. Overall, the food is actually really good. The chicken is a little dry, but the seasoning it has makes up for it. I got the beef kabob as well and man was it super juicy, but I literally got 3 pieces. Would I pay this much again? You know a place has amazing food when you skip all the Mediterranean spots where you live and drive 45 mins to get to Burbank to go to George's Greek Cuisine. Their food is always fresh and seasoned just right. I've had everything on their menu and you cannot go wrong with any item. My son the world's pickiest eater gets not 1 but 2 of their beef shawarma. I bring a chicken person mostly love the chicken plate that comes with salad and rice. They have the friendliest staff. Plus their restaurant is extremely clean and well maintained even after the lunch rush. I highly recommend this wonderful mom and pop spot. read more

I landed at Bob Hope Airport and needed to make a pit stop somewhere for lunch. I picked up my rental and noticed a strip mall right around the corner that included Panda Express, McDonald's... among other things. I'm partial to Mediterranean food, so George's Creek Cuisine was calling to me. I arrived at George's around 1pm. There were a few parties enjoying lunch, but I got there when no one was ahead of me to order. The wait to receive just a Greek salad felt a bit ridiculous. I did order the salad with beef shawarma, so I believe it was the making of the skewer that took longer than expected. That being said, it took almost 10 minutes for me to get my order. The salad was very filling and tasty. It was loaded with fresh, crisp veggies. The beef was cooked well although I didn't particularly find the seasoning to hit me with aromatic shawarma spices. Tasted like regular steak, which was fine. FYI - Their tahini was complimentary, but the tzatziki was not (extra $0.99 that I noticed on my bill). The tzatziki was standard, and I could've done without it. The tahini was honestly the star between the two sauces anyway. I doused my salad with it for extra flavor. read more

Stopped by for lunch and all the nearby businesses had a crowd so I decided to try this Greek restaurant. There were numerous photos showing all the food options. The pictures looked great but there's a reason the place is empty. Not much value as the prices are higher than normal (over $15 for a sandwich without fries) and while the food is good it wasn't very big. I saw this strip of restaurants from Hollywood Way, I didn't know how to access them. It looks like you are going into the airport but you turn into the parking lot before you get into the airport. $27.23 for this! When I pointed to this plate on the screen displaying all plates options, the lady at the counter did not ask me if I need to add drink (extra charge) and added anyway. She asked if I need garlic sauce on the side without mentioned extra charge as well. Portion is small, food in general was way below expectation with its price. They advertised $20 for a chicken breast plate. She asked if I wanted garlic sauce. I figured that was a part of the meal. It turns out she gave me two garlic sauces and charged a dollar each. The total meal came out to $24. the food is salty Over spiced the chicken tasted like rubber. The garlic sauce was not the best either. I think this is a rip off to charge someone $24 for a meal of such low quality. read more

Adjust your business practices. --original post below-- Wow. So the pricing is all wacky here. I ordered a falafel sandwich and the sign says its $13.99 or you can "Make it a Combo for $5". I opted for the combo but my total was $10 more...? I questioned why the price was difference than advertised and "Tony" who was ringing me up said it was his 1st day and didn't know why. He didn't adjust it to the menu price just offered to remove the item. Now it was VERY CLEAR Tony was a fake name and that it was not his first day because he was helping the cooks, on the phone multi-tasking like the manager/owner, all while at the helm of the register that did not seem first day foreign. I'm pretty sure its illegal to not honor advertised pricing. This was a sour experience that Tony made miserable. I will not come back here. I recommend that no one come here. read more

George's Greek was super tasty! It is right next to the Burbank Airport. Plenty of parking and the staff super friendly. Gyro plate was really good and it comes with two sides (options: grilled vegetables, rice or salad) and the portion is pretty good for the price. I had the Chicken Kabob with the Greek Salad and Grilled Vegetables. It also came with pita bread. The Cucumber yogurt, Garlic, and tahini Sauce you have to pay extra for. Overall, the food was delicious and we will be back. We will be coming back. read more

I definitely got food poisoning from this place. I'm Greek, (my dad is from Athens) so obviously I grew up eating lots of authentic Greek food. I ordered the gyro meat plate with the salad and rice. I also got a side of tzatziki. I should've known after the first bite of that tzatziki something was wrong. It had a very weird taste and nothing like how tzatziki tastes normally. Stopped by here before I headed to Burbank Airport for a flight. The food was tasty and I enjoyed the Pita. I feel like you are going to spend at least $20 so if you are looking to save $ compared to airport prices that will not be the case. I came to buy food but had to use the restroom really badly. I asked to use the restroom before I ordered and this woman who worked there asked me if I was a customer before she would give me the code to the restroom. When I came out of the restroom to purchase food, the menu's prices were higher than what I recalled from the last time I was there and I wanted a side with my meal. I didn't see anything desirable within the price point I was looking for so I unfortunately chose the spot next door. She says out loud in the middle of the restaurant "she came to use the restroom" and proceeded to argue with me after I told her that was not the case. Located right next to Burbank airport entrance. It's inside a plaza with free parking. There's plenty of outdoor seating and indoor. If you sit indoors there's a large TV for watching sports. And they serve beer/alcohol as well. Came here to grab a high protein meal before hopping on a flight. Ordered the beef shawarma (shaved beef) a La carte and it comes with warm pita bread, and a pickled chili. Was delicious, well seasoned, hot, and packaged well to go. The chicken combo plate also looked sizable. Great choice on a lark for us to try out. The staff was also super nice. She took our order and then came back outside where we were eating to ask if everyone was ok. This is a counter order place so that was nice of her to check on us. Tuesday evening had a few folks inside but no major wait and not crowded. Pics of food on the walls made it easy and helpful to figure out what we wanted to eat. There was a little bit of a wait for the food, but that's fine--probably a good sign that it's not good that's just sitting there waiting for someone to order it. The food does take a bit of time to come out but if you order ahead, you can eat it before your flight!!
