So I've been going to George's since I was a kid really because of George catering swim meets i've been apart of. I remember eating those lil bowls of pasta before my event and that's when I started going to George's Pastaria. I was probably like 10/11 when I first ate George's and when I was 16 I moved from Texas to New Jersey and every 6 months I come to visit family in Texas, I HAVE to stop at George's before I leave. I don't think there's been a visit that I haven't been to George's! Their Ravioli is amazing but the one thing I always get is the Chicken Pasta Salad with Creamy Parmesan dressing and I always make sure to get extra dressing to dip my garlic bread in. Got a pizza to go for a break from Thanksgiving leftovers. The pizza was great. We've been dining in house and getting food to go for years. George's Pastaria does not take reservations. We were very disappointed that the front-of-house staff did not manage our visit well. We checked in and were told 20-25 minutes max wait (their words). 45 minutes later, after seeing at least three parties who arrived after us seated at tables that would easily accommodate our party of five, we left in frustration. We were not offered water or to purchase a beverage during our wait. My teenaged boys got up more than once to allow elderly patrons to be seated in the waiting area. When we we inquired about the problem, we were met with argument rather than apology. Unsurprisingly, we have left without dining. I live in the neighborhood with this restaurant and have always wanted to try it, tonight my husband and I were craving pasta and decided to give it a try. I call the restaurant to order for pick up, the girl that answered the phone was very unprofessional. I asked a question about an entree and she didn't know so she gave the phone to a guy who then answered, he was a super a**hole and my question and gave me an answer as if I was dumb. He passes the phone back to the girl who answered originally and I asked for a total of my order and said "hold on" and immediately seemed annoyed. I was placed on "hold" for 5 minutes. The whole time I could hear employees talking but no one was coming to the phone to give me a total. I then got hung up on. So rude. They call me back and the guy says "do you want your total or not". Rude establishment here, you want new clientele? Fix your standards in your employees. Annoyed. Beyond annoyed. I canceled my order that same night around 6:30pm. They called me 3 times around 9pm. I did not answer. The next day, they call me from a different number, I answer and the guy who called me says "hi is this jasmine" and I said "yes". He then proceeded to tell me how they had to throw away my pasta and pizza I canceled. And said that was very wasteful of me and that next time just to be more clear on what I wanted.... for them to call me 3 times the night before, plus another time the next day just to tell me that, is pathetic of them. Plenty of parking . Extra big lot . They give you bread with garlic and butter on the table . Those where delicious. I was trying not to eat so many pieces of garlic bread cause then I'd be to full . I order the chicken parmesan with pasta on the side . I was being extra fat that day so I ordered meat sauce extra meat sauce on my pasta . But let's get back to this chicken parmesan yo it tasted like the chefs was putting there blood, sweat, and tears in it . Well 4 or 5 I was thinking 4 stars but now that I'm thinking about it though what I eat was strong 4 stars you got to combine the whole experience right. So the other day we decided we wanted Italian food So with a quick search on the good old Yelp app I was determined to find somewhere with not only good ratings but that friends had gave good reviews on as well had been burned by just looking at the stars recently so I was damned if I was going to have another bad meal. So about this place the parking lot is huge so even though we went at off hours I'm sure there's always parking unless there's no seating lol. The restaurant was clean as well as the restroom one of my pet peeves so good job on that. Also the service was top notch. Prices are a bit expensive but you get what you pay for right and you get a plenty big serving size here so you will probably have left overs for another meal. We were in town with friends for some quick shopping and wanted to leave HOUSTON by eating at a damn good place...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! When deciding for a place to eat, the kiddo and I decided that we wanted some Italian at a place that made us feel like we were in Chicago or New York We were seated quickly and right away, you could tell that this place was family owned and operated (never did ask if it was though!). The food came out quickly and was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The marinara sauce has so much love poured into it that you cannot stop eating (...and you should...because the portions are HUGE). The best part was the people watching! The locals/usuals were greeted on a first name basis and the only thing that made us leave disappointed was the fact that we do not live in the area to make this a weekly eat. read more

My first time eating here, and 3 and a half hours later, I have stomach cramping and the runs....food poisoning? 4 hours prior to this meal I had the same protein bar I have as a snack everyday, so I know this meal was the cause. The salad was very disappointing (leaves and bland dressing - one cherry tomato) I didn't realize it was extra, since a side salad, soup, or greek salad were mentioned above that section of the menu....$4.50 extra. Altogether my dining experience was pretty mediocre. I was not going to write a review, but the stomach issues were the last straw for me. Service was very slow and the hostess was clueless. She sat me and my 4 and 7 year old down with 3 adult menus and three very large and very full GLAsSes of ice water. My 4 year old grabbed at the glass, and I sped to snatch it away from her, looking around to find the person who set them in front of us. I pushed the glasses into a corner. A very nice Latino man noticed the problem and rectified it, giving us kids menus and kids cups after about ten minutes. The food runner was also very kind. I am gluten free so I was excited about this place. I got a GF pizza. It was pretty good. Could use more seasoning in sauce I think. They were able to do toppings on half. They didn't have it labeled anywhere that it was GF, even on the receipt so I had to go back to make sure but it was. I also got the Rigatoni Campagnolo GF so they subbed the GF penne for the rigatoni. It's so good. They gave garlic bread for free... maybe cause pandemic/quarantine. So I live down the street from this place and I pass it twice everyday . I finally went in and ordered the chicken parm and had some Alfredo on the side . The portions are huge I have some for lunch today after getting full off of it last night. I've always wanted to try this place since I live not too far from it. It's been around for decades and I've never tried it, so I convinced the boyfriend to check it out for our late lunch. The garlic bread was delicious. The drink sizes are super generous. He got the lasagna and I got "Giorgio's carbonara". At first I was kinda bummed because the description said it only had linguine, scallions, peas, and bacon and I wanted some chicken as well or something. But the food came out and it looked spectacular and tasted even better. Each bite was delicious! Neither one of us were able to finish our meals. The customer service was exceptional. We were excited to try somewhere new for date night. The hubby was craving pasta so we decided to get some food from a 4 star pasta place.We sat down it and it took about 10 to 15 minutes for someone to get us some water . We ordered the calamari , chicken Alfredo and chicken Parmesan. Our calamari came out 10 minutes later but our food never did. We waited about 40 minutes thinking they were making our pasta from scratch. Then the waitress came out and asked if we had ordered!! I paid for the calamari and left.
