Gigi's Cafe is worth the hype! We visited for lunch on a Thursday and found it pretty busy. There was no wait to order on the electronic kiosk, but I would order ahead next time, just to speed up the process. The interior was tiny - basically just the kiosk and counter, no seating. However, there was plenty of (dog-friendly) outdoor seating out in front. I chose the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread, and my friend got the Sriracha Hot Sandwich. The food did take a while to come out, but it was well worth the wait. Both sandwiches were top notch! The chicken cutlets had the perfect thickness and the Dutch Crunch was fantastic. I also got a refreshing Arnold Palmer to wash it down. Will happily return to try more of their menu!

We picked up a few sandwiches and ate outside on the patio. It is located in a very nondescript area, but a lot of people came by on foot or car, so you could tell it was a hidden gem. I was very impressed with my sandwich, the bread was fresh, crisp and perfectly toasted. The turkey was really flavorful and great ratio of toppings and sauce. My dad got a chicken sandwich and also loved it.

Still a great spot if you're traveling to the airport or just happen to be south of the city. If you come on Saturday there is no bathroom, but I love adding pesto to their burritos and they do not skimp on the cheese and avocado. Still a burrito for 2 or 3 in my opinion, but it kept me full the majority of the day.

I was in NorCal for a business trip and was looking for a quick lunch option. We found this sandwich place, not thinking or expecting much, but wow did it blow us away. We've been in a sandwich phase lately, and this definitely hit our top 3. You walk into the store, and there are a few iPads to order on. They'll text you when your order is ready. We ordered 2 sandwiches for 3 people (which ended up being plenty). We got the tech bro and the chicken churri. We got there right before the weekday lunch rush, which was great timing for us. My husband loved the tech bro, but the friend and I thought the chicken churri was more unique. All in all, 3 very satisfied tummies. Prices of sandwiches were reasonable given the size. We'll be back next time we're in NorCal!

For some context, my experience to Gigi's was on a cold, windy Saturday. Gigi's is located in an office building and I imagine this is a much different experience on a sunny day or during the work week. It's nestled in Burlingame my a lovely trail around the bay and hotels in walking distance. I was meeting my friend and happy to see there was ample parking. To my surprise as you walk in you are immediately welcomed with a tall partition and a couple of kiosks. There were no employees visible and no indoor seating... and it was chilly. Here are some general notes: * mostly a breakfast burrito and sandwich spot. *affordable and generous servings *the breakfast burrito with bacon and a hash brown. Very small and sparse pieces of bacon and additional hash brown was also lacking. Overall tasty and huge portion and I like how they grill the tortilla. *no restrooms on Saturdays, we had to sneak into the restroom in the hotel next door *Staff at cafe was kind and may have been the only one working when he handed me my burrito Additional thoughts: I'm sure this is amazing spot on a sunny and warm day to sit on the patio or stroll and eat your burrito. In our case it was chilly and we contemplated eating in our cars. If you do come on a cool day m, wear extra layers. This is really best as online pick up or if you're working in the building when there are restrooms available during the work week.

Came here on a weekend and split a sandwich with my friend. They have self service kiosks to order at. Good sized sandwich, they have a good amount of options to choose from. Love the outdoor seating area they have. We walked off our lunch along the water after we ate. Highly recommend!

It's sad that Gigi's is starting to lack in service as of recently. This is the second time that I have ordered sandwiches with avocado and the sandwiches ended up not having it. Thankfully after the first time, I made it a habit to check the sandwiches for avocados and for a while they did a great job. They forgot avocados on all three of my sandwiches today. This is disappointing because I come here a few times a month from SF just for their sandwiches. Update: I appreciate Gigi reaching out. I do truly love this spot and am willing to chance on no avocados again to try this place again.

BEST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER EATEN. I am someone who thinks sandwiches are usually something to rave about but these are something to tell your friends about. The service is amazing and the staff are so nice. The cafe is quaint and a little hard to find but the best spot around! My husband got a vegetarian sandwich and was going on and on about how fresh all the veggies were on his sandwich. I got the tuna melt and mine was so delicious and warm. Highly recommend visiting!

Was craving a sandwich so I stopped by Gigi's Cafe after seeing her place pop up on my FYP on social media. Gigi's Cafe is located at the end of the street on Anza by Embassy suites. There's plenty of parking and an outdoor seating area if you want to have your lunch there. Gigi's Cafe is a women-owned establishment serving deli sandwiches, homemade pastries and drinks. When you walk in, it's a pretty small place with three ordering screens. The area where your food and drinks are prepared is closed off. I ordered the Chicken-Churri sandwich which had breaded chicken, arugula, provolone cheese, tomatoes, thin sliced red onions, mayo and a chimichurri sauce. And an everything but the kitchen sink cookie. The sandwich was a decent size and so well neatly prepared and packaged. Very impressive. The breaded chicken was cooked nicely and not dry at all. The chimichurri sauce reminded me like a lighter version of pesto but in a good way. The flavors blended well together and the sandwich was so filling. The everything but the kitchen sink cookie was good. It was soft and not overly sweet. What I also really appreciate about this place is the amount of love and care that goes into everything they do. You can truly feel it in the atmosphere. One detail that especially stood out to me, and makes me want to keep coming back, is an option on the ordering kiosk called "Gigi's Lunches with Love." It's reserved for people who may not know when their next meal will be. With everything going on in the world, it's refreshing to see a place that leads with kindness and compassion. It's a very touching and heartwarming gesture. Definitely go and support this place. There's so many good options to choose from. Truly a hidden gem.

Came here before and I'm glad to see that it is still popular! Their sandwiches are simple, yet special at the same time. While their specialty sandwiches are out of this world, I opted to make my own sandwich. I got cold turkey sandwich with lettuce, onion, light mayo, cucumber. While it seems light, it was pretty delicious! No thrills, just a basic sandwich and they perfected it! The turkey is light and not dry at all. It was still moist even hours later. Sometimes people do too much mayo and I asked for light mayo and they did it just right. The sandwich was a great size! I didn't feel stuffed afterwards. The sandwich was made to go and it was packaged well! Definitely try this place out if you haven't already.

The sandwiches are made to order - so there's a short wait time. They have soo many options to choose from! The hot gurl sandwich was amazing - crunchy chicken, saucy salad, fresh veggies and a good ole Dutch crunch. Note that there's no indoor seating, so if the weather is not to your liking, it would be best to take it home.

Outdoor seating only! That's okay though because you get a really nice view overlooking the water while you eat. Huge portions for every item. They're supposed to be known for their sandwiches but my favorite was the rise and shine breakfast burrito which had hash browns, bacon, and egg. There's a great chipotle sauce in the burrito. I also really liked my mango coconut pineapple smoothie. The sandwich for me was solid but nothing too special!

When I was working in Burlingame, Gigi's was my go to place for both breakfast and lunch! I'd get myself a breakfast burrito or a pastry + coffee in the morning, and for lunch I'd switch it up depending on what their specials were. Great desserts and smoothies as well. Their place is very clean and organized. No matter the time of day, they were always so kind over the phone and in person. You always feel like you're visiting a friends house or something! Just had the chicken parm and blazing buffalo sandwich and they were sooooo delish! The bread she uses is soft and easy to eat. We had the rasberry oat bar (not over sweet) and chocolate chip cookie and they were top notch...I was so full but glad I made room for these desserts. We will be back!! read more

I first discovered this place from a Yelp elite event, and the food was so good it's now on my list of favorite sandwich spots! I only wish the location wasn't as out of the way, or I would order from them more often. The Thanksgiving dinner sandwich is super unique, and incorporates all of the quintessential thanksgiving flavors (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, fried onions). While it may sound heavy, the addition of fresh arugula actually balances it out really nicely. And the sandwich is large enough to last me two meals. My husband is a huge fan of the egg salad sandwich, and their BLTs are great as well. Finally, I love their Thai tea! It's not too sweet (so many restaurants make it so sweet you feel like you're drinking sugar), and is a refreshing accompaniment to your sandwich. read more

It's a perfect cute location very hidden but cozy especially the outside patio sitting. We were staying at the Hilton and my fiancé would not stop mentioned this place about wanting to try it out and it was walking distance from the hotel. Sooo, we finally went and OMG!!!! Wow! Nice find. Would love an indoor sit down spot but we managed the windy patio. Rents are sooo stupid these days. I am not too hot on the computer screen ordering but we managed. (I get McD screen nightmares) Dang the food was the bomb! Who can do a tasty sandwich...Gigi can! Bread to die for, just enough mayo, light fresh lettuce, tasty meat & cheese. We tried the breaded chicken, pastrami, salami, egg salad all great! We tried some potato salad not moms but good. Coffee yum. Shared a fruit bar thing...homemade over the top. Tasty food for a lunch meal. By the way take your food the lawn area and take in the view of the bay to get the whole adventure! Life is good! read more

Read about it in the paper today and went a tried it. 5-STAR ALL THE WAY, the bread, ingredients, appearance and most importantly taste! it's got it all! We had 3 items; 1. BAE Sandwich, (bacon, Avocado, Egg Salad) OMG DELICIOUS I LOVED IT!!! 2: HeatedTeriyaki Chicken Sandwich OMG WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!! 3. Hands down the best sandwich I've ever had. I was about to leave San Francisco and decided to look up a place where I could get a sandwich. Picked the closes place and was regretting my decision to stop there when I saw it was an office building. I went ahead and order anyways because I was starving. Best decision I could have made. The sandwich was so good I wish I would have tried it earlier in my trip. I'm planning on returning to San Francisco soon so I can have that sandwich again. 10/10 recommend this place. read more

Wanted to find a healthy egg based breakfast that didn't include a side of hash browns and toast. Did a Yelp search and it led me to Gigi's Cafe!! Inside an office building amongst various hotels, Gigi's really is a hidden gem! On a clear day I'm sure the view of the bay is beautiful! Had the Veggie fratata which comes on a bed of spinach. My son (8) said "it was awesome, give this place a 10!" Plan to come back and try one of their sandwiches or breakfast burritos. Thanks again Yelp! Ps Open during covid. Such amazing cookies! I ordered a variety of different cookies (oreo, aloha, red velvet and m&m) and I was so impressed. The cookies are giant! They also find that perfect balance of sweet and flavorful. My fav was the Oreo cookie because it was basically two incredible cookies in one! We got these cookies delivered but would easily drive 1.5 hours to pick them up in person! I highly recommend Gigi's Cafe for any of your food needs. I can't wait to try the sandwiches! :) read more

The smells when you walk in the door are amazing! You know you're going to get some great food! I got the turkey avocado smash sandwich! It was a great sandwich, I enjoyed every bite. It was so big too, I was able to eat it for lunch two days! I also got a chai tea latte, always one of my favorites- but sometimes hard to get a good one! Not too spicy, lovely amount of sweetness, and perfect warmth for those windy/chilly days. It's in a great location! Just a short walk from whatever near by hotel you are staying in. Take your food and go sit by the bay and watch the airplanes land and take off. The service was great! Answered all my crazy questions about chai tea. Told me if it wasn't what was going to satisfy me, they would make me something else. Next time, I am getting one of those cookies that stare you in the face while at the register! read more

My first DIY dinner kit! Thanks to @yelppeninsula for posting on Instagram with a promo for DIY Chicken Parmesan Kit. It included a breaded raw chicken breast, rigatoni pasta, marinara sauce, bread (for garlic bread), chocolate chip cookies, and condiments (fresh parsley, shaved & grated Parmesan, olive oil, garlic butter). Dinner comes with easy instructions. As I boiled pasta and heated marinara and combined them, I was able to bake chicken, garlic bread and cookies in my air fryer/baker. I added steamed spinach and sweet bell peppers. Dinner was done in less than 30 mins. I also got the coconut cake and carrot cake...and the flavors are delicious and the coconut cake and frosting is very light! And, since it's Tuesday, I got the special soup...Pozole (chicken and hominy in a mildly spicy Mexican style broth). Great little family run restaurant that focuses on inexpensive hearty fare. Discovered this gem on a whim! Was starving after a wedding in SF and decided to stop by here for a pre-dinner snack. It was takeout only. The sandwiches we got: turkey avocado smash and Chipotle is my life sandwich. They were super big and SOO good. We weren't able to take a photo as we were starving and couldn't wait to dig in. The workers were super sweet too. If you're in the area I would def recommend to stop by! The location is next to what seemed like a lake and there were people walking their dogs by. I think it would be a nice location to have a nice picnic. read more

I used to go here weekly when I had a client in burlingame. Great sandwiches and cookies. I think they even gave me a free cookie with my first sandwich there. Unfortunately I'm rarely down that way, but I'd absolutely go there if I was waiting for someone's flight to get in at SFO. Easy to get to from the freeway and plenty of parking. read more

Love everything about this place! I've only started ordering from Gigi's during COVID-19; however, I wish I started sooner. The food is great, menu selection is great, price is great, and the employees are great. Such an unsuspecting spot, with the most amazing food. In the lobby of a corporate tech building, you'll smell Gigi's before you see it. The sandwiches are INSANE, with every bite better than the previous. The bread is perfect - crunchy but soft, and they do not skimp on their ingredients! Traveling thru San Francisco and found this place online. These were by far THE BEST DELI sandwiches we have ever had. They were ginormous, packed with huge portions of meat and veggies and flavorful sauces. The bread was very fresh. Love love love Gigi's!!! Best sandwiches in the bay!!We discovered this hidden gem a few months ago and have been going at least once a week ever since. Every sandwich we've had has been incredible- some favs include Blazin Buffalo, chipotle is my life, tech bro, chicken parm. Meet the Business Owner: Teresa G.

Teresa is the Chef & Owner of Gigi's Cafe. In 2017, the Burlingame local opened her Woman Owned business at the age of just 24! Her smile, warmth & delicious homemade food brings the customers back for more. The Le Cordon Bleu Alumni graduated youngest in her class at age 18 in 2011. Her Baking & Patisserie Degree took her all the way to Miami in 2012. She worked under celebrity Chef, Andrew Carmellini, at The Dutch in the W Hotel South Beach. She eventually made her way back home after a few years in Florida. Teresa continued her baking career at Il Fornaio in Burlingame & then as the Pastry Chef at the conference center at Oracle HQ in Redwood Shores before she decided to venture on her own in 2017. That's when Gigi's Cafe was born.

I stopped by Gigi's Cafe after hearing about it for a while, and in having had numerous colleagues stop by this cafe along with family and friends, today was finally my day to see what Gigi's Cafe has to offer. I went with the BLTA, and honestly, it hit the spot in a really satisfying way. The sandwich was stacked generously with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, and creamy avocado on toasted bread. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced, and the textures really stood out; the crunch of the lettuce, the richness of the avocado, and that perfectly cooked bacon. It's one of those simple sandwiches that's easy to get wrong, but they absolutely nailed it. The overall vibe of the place was super relaxed. It wasn't crowded at all, which made for a calm, enjoyable experience. Big bonus: parking was easy, which is not always a given in Burlingame. I love small businesses and this establishment is definitely a place I'll come back to eat. I would've loved to have met the owner, Teresa, but she wasn't there on this day. Yayy, I love the good serving of food that they have. Like huge sandwiches, that's kinda messy because they are reallly huge and I have like kinda small mouth. But anyway 10/10 for that. would definitely comeback read more

I came here since my hotel was 5 mins away. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! The food was tasty & everyone was welcoming. I would definitely come back if I stay near by. read more

Yummy. It was quick and a light on the go brunch. I would've tried a heavier sandwich if it was later in the day. Try the thanksgiving one for me guys! read more
