Cool little spot to grab a slice of NY pizza on Crenshaw. I stopped in recently for the lunch special. For under $8 I got two slices, one mushroom/one cheese, and a large Coke. The syrup tasted bad so I asked the guy there to exchange it for a root beer. Pretty good value and the pizza was tasty. Definitely not the best pizza I've had recently- but it satisfied my cravings. This pizza is the best pizza i have ever had. NO joke. dead serious. i have been coming here for over 15 years and it never gets old. i hope this place stays open forever. This place has been here forever and the pizza has been great for forever. I use to come here when I was in college and now I take my 3 year old son here. My son is a picky eater but he ate almost his whole slice. The pizza has stayed the same and is really tasty. The best deal is a slice of pizza it is like 3 bucks. The slice of pizza is huge you get a lot of bang for you're buck. I will definitely be stopping back by very soon. read more

I love this pizza and the chicken wings are my favorite thing to eat from here. The pizza taste freshly made with genuine toppings not fake cheese. The crust is soft and moist not like your ordinary Pizza Hut or dominos. I don't feel super full after I eat pizza from here my stomach feels light. Not like the Pizza Hut after feeling guilty and heavy. Sounds weird but it's true lol. I recommend trying it. read more

i have been coming to what was known as Bonello's ever since i was 7 or 8 years old. i am now 30. my cousin introduced me to this place as it use to be a treat for me if i did well in school. i remember the slices being HUGE! and the flavor. as the years went by they changed up a few things. little things but it had no major effect on the quality. such as using cornmeal vs flour on the pizza to help it not stick. my review however is now on the "Gigi's" portion. i was there this weekend and yes they now offer a lot more than before such as wings, which are ok at best taste like frozen tyson chicken wings, and a plethora of other offerings. one of the family favorites have always been their sandwiches. Meatball and Sausage subs. they were always made on their house baked bread. and it added a unique flavor. they now offer a medium and large option for the subs. however they now use from french roll or steak roll bread. it really takes away from the orginal flavor profile. as that roll is made by someone else and it has a different flavor. it also gets soggier faster than the original house made bread. now i got the medium size i am not sure if their "large" is still made on the house baked bread but i was dissapointed with the medium meatball and sausage sandwich. i think if i order it again i will ask for the house baked bread. so my 3 stars is for the sandwiches. but for the pizza & garlic bread and spaghetti i give it a 5 star. Best pizza in the South Bay! I just had their Hawaiian Pizza and it was the best pizza that I had in a while. The taste and balance of the toppings were just right. The crust had a nice crunch to it too. I now have a new go to pizza spot! I can't wait to try some of their other items on the menu during my next visit. read more

I love mom and pop shops! I would much rather take my business to them. Their pizza is simple and delicious. They take credit cards which is helpful and they seem to be very clean. It's right in front of a community college so around lunch time it can get busy. You can all ahead for pick up which makes it easy for people that don't have time to wait. We ordered The Works and with all of those toppings you would think the pizza would've had alot of flavor but Hell Naw it totally lacked flavor and it barely had any cheese and sauce SUPER DRY. 6/29/17: The signage now says Gigi's Pizza, haven't tried It yet. This pizza was a pleasant surprise. I've lived in New York state and have never found pizza here that compared. Anyway, I called in an order for 2 slices of mushroom and picked it up 5 minutes later. The crust was absolutely perfect--thin, but not too thin, super crispy on the bottom and slightly chewy--but not tough--on top. Toppings were in the correct proportion, although they were stingy on the mushrooms. Next time I'll order extra. (For the absolute best mushroom pizza--in this area anyway--try Lamppost in RHE.) The sauce was a little sweet but that was ok. In the last couple of weeks I've had pizza from Grimaldi's on Rosecrans and Il Fornaio on Rosecrans and frankly, both sucked, such a disappointment. I'm thinking maybe the prior business was an ice cream stand because of the lack of seating but I didn't mind, got it "to go" anyway. It's really a 3.5 star place (not for the food but because of lack of indoor seating, the fact that they close on Sundays and don't deliver) but I bumped it up to 4. read more

I used to attend Calvary Christian Academy...and ever since 2nd grade my whole family has been going to this pizza place. The owner.....Mr. Bonello is soo sweet....he always takes time to talk to us...especially since back in the day like 8 yrs ago...he called my parents my grandparents so he's been nice ever since..lol. This location is good, but the set up of the whole restaurant is awful. It's only outside seating. I didn't mentioned that it was raining that day I ordered a slice of pizza and spaghetti and meatballs, but so what. I think they should really consider having inside seating. As mentioned many times through many yelp reviews, it's cash only. I feel like that bad form. Yes, there's a ATM machine, but if you take out money that's basically adding 2.50 to your already overly priced meal. My friend ordered before me and got a slice of pizza, and when she got it, she kindly asked for a fork and knife, and I shit you not the worker replied "What do you think this is, (pulls out a rolling cutter and cuts it in 2) that's all I can do". They clearly had plastic forks and knifes. This guy was just being a prick. About the food, the pizza was pretty good, but the spaghetti and meatballs was pretty pathetic. I feel that most pizza places don't size up to their pasta dishes. The meatballs in the spaghetti were like rocks, and the marinara sauce tasted like they bought canned tomato sauce and spiced it up with some typical basil, salt, and pepper. This place may very well have the best pizza in the entire South Bay. It's owned by a real family that moved here from New York. Two brothers run either location (there's another one in Torrance on Anza). The pizza is awesome. It's not the soggy kind of NY pizza, it's similar but the crust is a little crispier. I think they just generally cook their pizza longer than most places. However, don't let this sway you. It is DAMN GOOD. If you're going there for lunch, get the 2 slices, salad, and a soda combo. Like many others here, I have first hand experience with New York pizza growing up in Jersey. Normally I scoff at places on the West coast that call themselves "new york style" as it is usually just thin crust loaded with artichokes and mushrooms, WHATEVER. This place is the real deal. The second I walked in I felt like I was a kid again, felt like I should be leaning my bike up against the wall outside. The two guys behind the counter just had the feel of New York too, could have gone to school with them LOL. The pizza lived up to the feel and the look, and was 99% dead on to real New York pie. The only flaw is the slices, too small! I almost couldn't fold them to eat them right. The crust was perfect, crispy on the bottom, soft on the top, the perfect layer of cheese, and pepperoni, and grease. It figures that I finally find the perfect new york pie and it's while I was traveling on business 400 miles from home. I took a whole pie, ate half for lunch and took the other half back to the hotel for dinner. Yes it's cash only, so what, not having to pay card processing fees lets them keep offering awesome slices at reasonable prices. As close to N.Y. style pizza as you're going to get in the South Bay. Not bad if you ask me, not bad at all, but I should say I am more of a deep dish gal. There is nothing like a thick piece of buttery crusty bread topped with sauce and cheese to make me happy, but if you want a change of pace this is a good go-to crispy and thin slice.
