Ken is the best. He has fixed our GE Profile refrigerator twice. He really know his stuff. I just described the problem to him over the phone and he asked a few questions. Boom! He knew exactly what the problem was and which parts he needed to pick up in order to do the job. He came a few days later and fixed the problem. We had to use Ken through our home warranty. Ken came out and "diagnosed" the problem with our microwave in less than 5 minutes and did 1 test. He told us that it was either the control board or the magnetron and he would order both just in case. He then went and immediately told our warranty company it was a wiring issue and we needed a whole new microwave. We continued down that route and waited for our new microwave butting up against Christmas. We were in communication with Ken via text the whole process. He was extremely negative and honestly unprofessional. (see screenshots of text below) He then says he will show up to today 12/22 around "11ish". He then shows up at 10:25 with no heads up text letting us know he is on his way. Shows up again with an absolute terrible attitude. My husband greeted him outside with a "How's it going" his response was "This can't be over fast enough". Comes inside and immediately says he cannot replace our microwave because the stove top was at most warm. We put a towel on the stove and even went as far as wiping it down with a cold towel and put ice on it so it was 100% cooled down for him. The whole time he was rude and told us he could not do it after we gave him every solution to fix the minor inconvenience. By 10:32 he was back in his van and out of our driveway. We were able to completely rest our hand on the stove without it feeling too hot.( see pictures below) With no heads up- what are we suppose to do? Not eat breakfast? We have no microwave to go the easy route and pop something in there. He ultimately never wanted to do this job and by the looks of was never even capable of doing the job. He could not bend down to pet my dog, he could not get on a ladder, and he could hardly reach above the microwave let alone take down a whole microwave and replace it by himself. He immediately put it on my husband to do the job.He is lazy, negative, and extremely unprofessional. We are in contact with our warranty company and would never recommend anyone use him again. I recently moved into a new home. We had an issue with our oven and First American Home Warranty had Mr. Gilbert sent out to our house. He repeatedly made racist comments about our "Damn Chinese" oven. Then proceeded to absolutly destroy our guest bathroom with a stinky dump before leaving us with a still not working oven, making more nasty comments about the Chinese as he left. He promised to call back the next week with an update. After giving him an additional two days to call me back I reached out to him via phone. He didn't answer but wrote an immediate text back saying First American had been advised to find another contractor. Wildly unprofessional and racist. read more

Ken was sent to us for an Old Republic warranty claim involving our dishwasher. He was super prompt, came out within hours, super knowledgeable and very friendly. I think he could tell we were super worried about the dishwasher and made us laugh a couple times. Would highly recommend. read more

As the other reveiwer stated all started out well. Call insurance company as our stove was not heating properly. They referred Gilbert Home Services. Owner Ken called set up appointment and called prior to appoitment asking if he could arrive early. After describing problem, he agreed with me that it was the heating element. I wrote him a check for the $60.00 co-pay and that was the last we heard from him. He cashed the check right away and never responded to our phone calls. Left countless phone messages and never had a reply. Phone was never answered always went to voicemail. After 2 months finally got a phone number for the son who actually answered his phone. He stated that he would call back, which he did unfortunately I was on the phone with the insurance company and did not switch over. He never left a message or called back. Upon my many conversations with the home insurance company, Gilbert Home Services had been approved and paid for his work on our stove even though he never completed the work! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! What do you call a company that takes your money and you never hear from again? This company responded to another review that they couldn't get ahold of us and stated the insurance company couldn't ger in touch with us either, which is an outright lie! I had numerous phone conversations with the insurance company complaining about this company. read more

Dude comes out to look at 1 thing for our home warranty, finds another thing wrong to void it, then pitches that he can do the new replacement installation for us rather than attempting to help us get our appliance covered (not his job, I understand). Then he takes our $60 and reports our "item" condemned so the warranty company won't consider repair, telling us nothing about why or what he was going to do. It takes me 3-4 phone calls to figure this out. He could have just been honest about the entire situation and I would have left a better review, instead he wasted my time. read more

I've never written a review before, but thought people should be aware. Ken was nice enough on the initial visit. He showed up on time and seemed knowledgeable when determining the problem. I had to call him to follow up on the order several times only to be told that he had recently broken his arm so he hadn't been able to work, which I understand. Things happen, but I would have appreciated a call to let me know. He finally sent Mark out to install the items, but the issue wasn't 100% resolved at the end of his visit. Mark told me he would have to order another part, but that I would be "low-priority" so it might take a few months. I never heard from anyone, so I called a few months later, but couldn't get in touch, and finally got ahold of Ken before being told that Mark had closed the order that day. Ken said he would reach out to my Home Warranty provider and get back in touch, but he never called back. I called and played left several more messages before Ken finally answered and told me he was "sick." Too sick to use a phone? Ken told me to set up a recall with my Home Warranty provider (guess he never talked to anyone himself like he said he would). Thanks to Ken's incompetence and lack of communication, my oven is still broken and my Home Warranty expired. Thankfully I was able to get a temporary extension on my warranty, but I will never recommend Gilbert Home Services. If you choose to use them, I sincerely hope you have a better experience than I had. read more

This company was hired twice by my Home Warranty company. Both times they came out, they were 45 minutes late or greater. Upon asking why they run late, the gentleman became upset and stated that he will call my Home Warranty company and have them send someone else out. He then hung up the phone. I called my Home Warranty company and they stated that Gilbert Home Servicing told them that hey offered me another appointment and I declined. That never came up in conversation and if it would have, I most def would have declined based on their lack of time mngt and respectfulness. read more

I used this company through American Home Shield; even though the repair took a little while (due to ordering a part and a warranty issue), we still got the repair completed and for only our AHS co-pay. I don't even know where to start. Things went fine to get a service guy out to look at a leaking dishwasher, take our $60 deductible, spend 10-115 minutes and leave. Since then, I've got virtually no calls from either Gilbert Home Services (GHS) or Allied Home Warranty (AHW) since. It has become my responsibility to call them for part status and ETA on repair. When I talk to GHS I get one story but when I call AHW they say he reported something entirely different. I'm now on day 9, parts were said to have been delivered several days ago, AHW says the repair will happen on Monday (it is noon Friday) and I haven't heard from GHS to schedule an appointment - so I'm skeptical. When I entered a testimonial on AHW's site - they didn't post it despite claiming they post all testimonials. It did actually get GHS to finally call me (a week ago), tell me what was wrong with the dishwasher, what parts he needed, when they would arrive and when he would do the repair (3 days ago). Initially he got my wife on the phone and was rude and had a bad disposition attacking her verbally for the testimonial I had entered (this is what prompted him to finally call) ... she had no idea what he was talking about as she didn't know I had entered said testimonial. When I got ahold of GHS - he admitted that he told AHW he would submit his report the previous night (and didn't), that he didn't submit it the following morning and that he didn't get it done until 3pm that day when AHW called him about the bad testimonial ... but he still didn't see how I could be upset because he was angry at me!! I had requested AHW get another vendor to complete the repair as I wouldn't let him come to my house if the wife was home alone during the day - they refused to change vendors and now I'll have to meet with him when/if he completes the repair (I'll update you with that status). I think he was very unprofessional, failed to keep the customer updated on status of parts/repair and on any subsequent repair call to Allied Home Warranty (he is one of their "preferred vendors") - I will insist he not be assigned the call or allowed onto my property. I'm skeptical about the quality of the repair since he already is upset/angry with me that I told AHW I wasn't pleased with his service (so I'll also update you on the quality of work observed). read more

I'm hoping the warranty company will send someone else. I'll update if/when this problem ever gets fixed. Meanwhile I have no refrigerator. Fantastic........... So this is an update. Another guy showed up with the parts----but the original guy made the wrong diagnosis. Thankfully the thermostat was readily available so he just went out and bought it. Ken called after the previous contractor assigned to us through First American home warranty was totally worthless. He was able to come a day early, the same day he was assigned the issue. He knew what the problem was and brought the appropriate part to fix it. He had it done in an hour. He was terrific. read more

Guy is super nice but like other assigned by home warranty. Tells us the problem and the warranty company orders the parts. After more than a week of not hearing from him and he not answering our texts, I call him and low and behold he had already received our parts but had not contacted us. He told me that he had no time to come for the next two weeks out except for 7pm that night, and we had theater tickets. We did not want to go two more weeks without our washer so we had a friend come to the house. The next day when we go to use the washer, it is not working with the same problem. Again, super nice guy but not responsive or needs some help but bottom line is here did not diagnosis or repair our washer. read more

Mark was sent out to fix my refrigerator after another company couldn't figure out how to fix it. He was very professional and great with our dog. He had a great understanding of appliance troubleshooting and ran diagnostics to determine the issue. They understood we had been without a fridge for two weeks and worked to expedite the repair. When they came back with the needed parts Mark and his boss came out to finish the repair. They were both very nice and spent the time to verify the repair took care of our issue. I highly recommend this company - they are the best appliance repair company I have ever worked with. read more

This is the second time I have used Gilbert Home Service, the first was on a Saturday or Sunday and my Kitchenaid side-by-side freezer door would not shut. AHS sent him the call and I call him and even though he was in pain from an injury and it was the weekend, he got down on my tile floor and worked tile he fixed the door. Just had him come out again to trouble shoot my refrigerator. Very personable and kind. I would highly recommend him. read more

When it didn't work, as he suspected, he came back out and fixed the problem by replacing a part on our washer. He was really knowledgeable, very friendly, let me hover the whole time and ask questions, and overall is just a good dude. Highly recommend him. read more

This man is a crook! Hold on to your wallet and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING! He came out and didn't even examine my washer, just ran the spin cycle and reported to me that it was a major repair needed. After he cashed my service call check reported to the insurance company that the washer was not in need of repair. read more

They were sent by the home warranty company, response time was good. Checked the dishwasher found why it was leaking, said they would order the part, it's in Austin so I'll be back in two days and we will call you to set up a time. No phone call, I had to call them myself, we got the part approved by the warranty company so we will order it and be out in two days. This time they scheduled the time with me, when it was time for them to come they call me and say they had the part it was there and now they cannot find the part anywhere. We have to order another one and it will come from Dallas, we be out in two days. At the time they were suppose to show up I get a call they are running behind due to issues with the job before me. I understand that things do happen, they were coming just a little later in the day. They show up with the part and fix the dishwasher and all seems to be okay. It took two weeks to get this hose replaced on our dishwasher. I do not recommend this company. I would stay away unless you have lots of time to wait and wait and wait some more. read more

Not recommended. Owner doesn't care about customer service and that my refrigerator is still not repaired since December - leaking water all over hard wood floors (we continually have towels on the floor soaking up the leak) and now that it's been 60 days and we are still being told 'the parts are on order' they have cancelled multiple appointments, never communicated or kept us informed about the status of the repair - these were people AHS recommended/assigned for this problem plus another problem with a different appliance and I have requested they never be sent to my home again for any repair reason. If you have any kind of warranty program for your appliances and this guy/company is assigned - insist/demand they put someone else on the repair project especially if my situation is how they plan on handling things. Obviously by reading most of these negative reviews others are suffering the same thing. read more

Started out good. Ken came out and picked up our check and cashed it. Now it's been nearly 2 months and we are still 'waiting on a part'. AHS has been involved since this is their recommended repair company. I requested a tracking number for the part so I can check on it myself since Ken won't return my calls. I think he probably is working on bigger ticket items that aren't covered by a home warranty company and the $60-$75 aren't worth his time or trouble when he can make more money elsewhere. read more

Ok, If anybody needs their refrigerator repaired DO NOT CALL Gilbert Home Service. I called American Home Insurance two weeks before Super Bowl and GHS calls me the week before the game. It took him 5 minutes to tell it wasn't worth repairing the part, better If he ordered a new part and would have it done the Saturday before Super Bowl. I paid my $65.00 and off he went. I have called this guy weekly and I get the same crap each week. I'm driving and I don't have your paper work in front of me.. I called this afternoon and the same thing, except this time he preceded to tell me how long his work days have been and again I'll call you in the evening. Here we are in March and still no part for my Icemaker. WARNING, do not allow AHI to send this guy out for your repairs ask for someone more reliable.
