This spot is pretty good for rolls. I haven't tried the classic rolls yet, but the special rolls are good. My favorite roll is the Blonde Bombshell, which I think is a pretty unique roll with the carpaccio sauce. The sauce reminds me of vinaigrette, which might sound strange but I thought it was pretty tasty. Other rolls I would order again (and recommend): Ultimate Shrimp Delight, Fantasy Roll, Fire Dragon, and Flaming Roll. For appetizers, I liked the salmon collar and the tempura appetizer, but the shrimp in the shrimp tempura was reeeallly small. There's also no mushroom in the tempura appetizer, so the menu is kind of misleading. Skip the chicken karaage (it was dry and just not that great). read more

Had a late lunch here around 2pm on a Saturday; it was completely empty but soon after filled up only about 30 minutes later. We ordered the chirashi, bay island baked roll and the fusion salmon belly nigiri. The salmon belly nigiri was my absolute favorite, as it melts in your mouth! It's lightly torched with a dollop of pickled wasabi on top each piece. The bay island roll was delish and very filling too. It had a good amount of baby scallops on top and very saucy too (which I love). My partner enjoyed his chirashi as it had a little bit of everything layered atop some sushi rice and furikake. The sushi recommendation keeps popping up on my Yelp recommended/sponsored but haven't had a chance to try. My brother and I were craving sushi one day and he chose this spot and I'm glad we found a spot that satisfied our sushi craving! Fast, spacious and delicious. The interior is modern and the wall art is amazing. The rolls and appetizers came out very quick and they definitely do not skimp you on the ginger here when you ask for it. We ordered an abundance of rolls from their extensive menu and devoured it quickly, rubbing our bellies to sleep at the very end! I love coming to eat here, ordering through door dash is a bit different and not always great. Not at any fault to the restaurant but I think orders sit sometimes and things like tempura get soft and soggy. The staff is always super accommodating and friendly, food comes out quick and is always fresh! We came with 3 children and my sister- we were sat immediately. Drinks came quickly as did appetizers! I enjoyed my dining experience here. They had a pretty extensive menu with a variety of lunch options that don't break the bank. I tried the Hawaiian Poke Bowl with sauce on the side and it was delightful. The portion was just right and it came with an orchid flower. The fish tasted fresh and the salad was refreshing. The spicy garlic ponzu had the perfect amount of heat and livened the salad. The service was excellent. Out waiter was kind and cheerful from start to finish. I asked for low sodium soy sauce and he brought it out right away. We were provided with water without having to ask for it. The restaurant was spacious and inviting. We came here at 8:09. They close at 9. Immediately upon walking in one of the servers / chefs says hello and asks how many we have. We said 6. Another server rudely goes "can we even serve them, aren't they too late" as if we weren't standing right there. The other server says we're good as long as we order by 8:30 (fair). Every single table in the restaurant is empty but they decide we must sit at the only table that is currently dirty thus delaying the ordering process. The server we eventually got was nice but they were out of rice (WHAT??) and forgot the food of one of the people at our table and didn't realize until we flagged them down. Just had lunch at Ginza Sushi with my friend before work today. My friend had been here once before and this was my first time. There were plenty of parking spots open upon arrival and there was no wait line, just one other table when we arrived. We treated and seated immediately. Our server was very attentive and gave us time to look through the menu. Throughout lunch, our server checked back with us about 3-4 times, filling our tea cups and water and asking us how we were doing. Great service. I got an order of their salmon belly fusion sushi and a bento with shrimp tempura, California roll, and chicken teriyaki. My friend got two orders of salmon belly and an order of hamachi fusion. We both loved our meal and had a peaceful lunch while we were catching up about life outside of work. Food was freshly made,delicious, and portions were fair, so I would recommend both orders if you're looking for some good sushi and bento. Would definitely come back again! read more

The portions of fish are pretty good for the sashimi, nigiri, and on top of the rolls. The presentation is decent also. Unfortunately the rolls are not good. The specialty rolls were more rice than anything and I LIVE for the center of the rolls. So the Sexy Lady roll was mostly rice. The Fantasy was too sweet and the shrimp tempura was cold and soggy. Maybe it's the kind of spot you need to go in person for, especially for something with tempura in it. We haven't had a good sushi spot since our regular spot got taken over by a different owner. It's just too expensive to waste money on food that isn't good. A $19 roll that has almost no spicy tuna is too disappointing. read more

The interior is tastefully designed, with subtle lighting that creates an intimate dining environment. Coming to the rolls/food, we happened to order the following: The house salad along with miso soup followed by Orange Blossom, Sexy lady, Sexy Victoria, Johnny Roll and Bianca roll. It could have been that particular day but the Sushi rolls didn't taste authentic and looked to be overly filled/packed with thick rice. We took a bit to get through them though usually we are very quick in finishing these one after the other. Hopefully it was one off day and maybe it'd be a much better experience next time. That was just the food though. The service was off the charts good. We asked for the popular ones, the spicy ones, crispy one's etc and were given appropriate responses to each of those in helping us decide in what we ended up ordering. We used to order here on a weekly basis. They had some of the best sushi in the area with awesome Salmon Kama, Salmon Belly Fusion, Johnny roll, and bentos. Friendly staff who knew me by name and food was consistently good. Even when they were slammed with evening orders, they would call to let us know things will be a bit later than usual or apologize for late orders. Ordered today and first clue to the change was the person taking the order did not know the menu items. After a bit of time, finished the order and told me to come in 20 minutes. I sent my wife to pick up in 25 minutes just in case. After 30 minutes she didn't come back yet so I called to check in. She waited a total of 45 minutes before getting our food. There were 2 others ahead of us who seemed pretty annoyed and had waited awhile. One other person came in after and got their order before ours. Not a word of apology for the 45 minute wait. Then they crammed 2 sushi rolls into one container that burst open because it was so overfilled. All the sauce ended up on the container instead of the sushi. No longer friendly staff and it all seems to be new people we don't recognize. Not sure if new owners or just stay turnover, but place has gone downhill. Food is just ok now, prices have gone up significantly, and this recent order experience was very upsetting. Huge disappointed for one of our previously favorite go to spots. read more

My friend wanted Japanese food for lunch so we came here. This place is super close to where I live so it was a great choice. We met for an early lunch and were the only customers in the place except for takeout orders which they seemed to be doing a lot of. But service was great and so was the food. I definitely will be back. I had the lunch bento box with mixed tempura and chicken teriyaki. The chicken was really tender and flavorful. Most places have really chewy chicken but this was not the case here. The tempura was a variety or veggies and one shrimp. Most places give two shrimp but overall everything was tasty. Flaming Roll -- it was flaming (lit) and cool to look at. Unfortunately, when I opened the foil all I could smell was smoke and it left a smokey burnt taste in my mouth AND the fish was over cooked. Such a bummer. This roll had shrimp tempura, tuna, albacore, and tobiko. Obviously I didn't want to waste it so I forced myself to eat it all, with the help of water. I like baked sushi rolls but this was not it. I'd probably stick to my Lion King. Food came out in a decent amount of time. Staff was attentive. Not to be entirely too bias, but most sushi hot spots are either in downtown San Jose (NE corridor) or Campbell. We arrived on a Monday shortly after Ginza opened for dinner service. Seating was practically immediately. We ordered the Caterpillar Roll, Orange Blossom Roll, Tuna Tartar, Hamachi Delight Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, a side house salad, and miso soup. The bill came out to $100 which isn't too bad considering all that we ordered. The fish tasted fresh and still cold from the refrigeration. I also appreciated how the rice ratio wasn't too dominate -- it ruins the sushi experience if there's too much rice and not enough toppings. Our servers were really sweet and refilled our waters and hot tea promptly. The restaurant isn't big but has enough space to accommodate most group sizes. Although we ordered it for our daughter I ended up eating most of it because it was too spicy for her. Hamachi collar: 4.5 stars. This is a star dish. Moist and yet crunchy that just kind of melt in your mouth. It's so good that I ate most with just lemon and completely skipped the ponzu sauce that came with it. Order this and you won't regret it. The rest of the rolls tasted good with flavors. Not super memorable for me. The bay island roll was a backed roll. I didn't care too much for Mayo but the scallops were moist and delicious. Then, luckily I came across Ginza sushi on yelp. Because of the great reviews, I decided to check it out, and I am so happy I did! Now I come here at least twice a month.
