I am a Columbus transplant from spending my first 50 years in Chicago, so I have had my share of Giordano's. In Chicago it's my favorite, here I think it is as good as it is back home. I've only eaten in the restaurant a couple of times and have nothing negative to say, service was good, friendly, what else do you want? We live out of their delivery area, yet they still will deliver to me, that's service!! I don't understand some of these reviews, people say they loved it and then give them a 3-star rating?? Then there is only who whined about re-heating it in the cardboard?? As if cardboard is different here? Take it out of the cardboard like a normal person. I love giordano's pizza read more

I did not know I had one 2 hours away but this was by far the best experience I've had ever. He was very personable and he shared his story and I understand why he was selected. The deep dish, Chicago pizza had tons of sauce and loaded with gooey cheese. After just one piece, I was about to pop a button. lol However I also ordered the thin crust spinach feta pizza, which was also a good choice, but I think my favorite was the Parmesan fries. Literally, I just could not get enough of them. The restaurant has lots of window seats, which I enjoyed, spotless, restroom, and courteous staff. I think I psyched this place up in my head as I have been wanting to try it for so long. Arrived around 4:30 on a Sunday, the place was dead. Plenty of seating, we were seated and had drinks right away. We were advised to order the pizza first then come back to the sides and apps. The pizzas take a bit to cook due to the depth and toppings. We had an Italian salad and a meat deep dish. The salad was great, fresh and the house dressing was tangy and refreshing. The pizza had ample amount of toppings and cheese! The classic string and ooze as a slice is lifted was beautiful. When we went to heat it up the next day, the crust stuck to the cardboard. It was fantastic! Nice workers. They had our order ready ahead of time since we had a big group. The worker cut the first slice of deep dish and we were amazed watching the thick cheese stretch a foot in the air and thwack back in place. Long before franchising, I can remember Giordano's original restaurant on the south side of Chicago. In a tough pizza town, Giordano's helped raise the bar on both stuffed and thin crust pizza. As their popularity grew, they began to franchise. Most were quite good but not all of them. Driving through Columbus, I saw a Giordano's and decided to stop there for lunch. To cut to the chase, this franchise was excellent. In as much as we had a long drive ahead of us, we opted for a thin crust pizza instead of the more popular stuffed. Simply put-pizza was outstanding. Reminded me of the best I've had at various Giordano's over the years. Service was spot on and we were happy to get drink refills to go. We went to the famous one in Chicago back in 2022 and decided to try this location here in Columbus. It's just as authentic as the windy city one. We used the online ordering system and everything was a breeze. When I went to pick up, the workers were nice. We got the Special Deep Dish. Like all deep dishes, this had a healthy amount of cheese. 10/10 cheese pull. We shall see how the food is ...but right now, not too impressed. Got here early enough so we could try the pizza and make it to a show. Well, 20 mins sitting in restaurant, they still can't "find your server." An employee takes our order and tells us it will be 45 mins to make the pizza. (That's why we came early...oh, and we are literally the ONLY customers in the restaurant) So, now we are pressed for time. Hope the pizza changes our experience. Right now they are at 1 star... Seriously the best thin crust around. We drive 30 minutes to pick up this sausage and cheese pizza. It's crispy and saucy and delicious. Garlic cheesy bread is out of this world. This is it. Right here. The one, the only. The best! Giordano's is the best. Now granted, if you are from Chicago then the best pizza that you know of is your neighborhood pizza place. That's just how it goes. However, Giordano's is a local chain. And there's usually one nearby. Chicago is obviously known for deep dish pizza. But, what most people don't realize, is that people from Chicago rarely eat the deep dish pizza. Chicagoans like thin crust pizza. Fact. The deep dish is good as a treat once in a while, but you're always going to get a thin crust. My personal favorite, and the only thing I ever order from Giordano's, thin crust sausage and green pepper. Nothing fancy. That's it. Perfection. Like I said, Giordano's does do a good stuffed deep dish. A very good stuffed deep dish. On the rare occasion that I do get it, I typically get sausage and spinach. Can't go wrong with that either. Would I go back? Yes. I always do. In fact a few locations have popped up in a few different cities around the country and I seek them out too. This one on the Columbus, OH area does not let down. Giordano's is one of two places that I need to hit every time I'm in Chicago. It'll never let you down. And no matter what location you go to, you're still getting the same high quality Pizza. This is some great pizza! I am traditionally a thinner crust, New York style pizza guy so this is a different experience for me. The crust is done and has a crispness to it, even on the bottom. It is heavenly, cheesy goodness! The service was great and they had awesome recommendations for appetizers and I loved every one of them! Don't sleep on the fries and ranch! Terrible experience for our first visit. After being seated, I started my stopwatch and waited over 15 minutes before we were approached by our waitress. She asked if we were helped and we let her know we were sitting for 15 minutes before being approached. She was unapologetic. The restaurant wasn't busy, only about 1/3 full at 4:00 PM. The pizza is worth the wait! Know what you want in your pizza and be ready to order when you get there. That's the best advice I can give you besides giving this place a try. My husband and I sat at the bar to watch the games. We ordered our pizza when asked what we wanted to drink. They do tell you there is about 45 minutes wait on the pizza which is typical. You can also get thin crust. It doesn't take as long and it's very good too! Decided to do the sample platter and it was delicious. Well, I didn't have 45 minutes to kill so we went with the lunch special. The Caeser salad and pepperoni pizza. In town for a baseball tournament. We had a party of about 25 people. We were promptly seated which was surprising to begin with. Check off one box. One waiter handled all of us. This was our first visit outside of the the soft opening. My husband is from IL and loves the deep dish. We came for dinner Sat. night, and it turned out to be our last dinner out before the big shut down. Our service was great. We were in a small booth and were warned about the long wait (45 to an hour) for a deep dish, which we were aware of and were ready to order. With our drinks (cocktail, wine & beer), we each had a small Giordano's House Salad, which was very good and topped with shaved Asiago cheese. My husband ordered the pepperoni deep dish, and I ordered the Chicken Club sandwich minus bacon, with their Garlic Parm fries. Everything was really good. I asked for a side of ranch for my fries, but honestly, they have such a great flavor, it wasn't needed. Their restrooms have a unique water flow and blow dryer attachment above the sinks, as well as the foot pedal for a no-hands door open. No paper towel usage! Love it. Tip: During our wait, I went down a couple doors to The Suisse Shop to get some treats since I don't get to this area much anymore. read more
