This was our first visit outside of the the soft opening. My husband is from IL and loves the deep dish. We came for dinner Sat. night, and it turned out to be our last dinner out before the big shut down. Our service was great. We were in a small booth and were warned about the long wait (45 to an hour) for a deep dish, which we were aware of and were ready to order. With our drinks (cocktail, wine & beer), we each had a small Giordano's House Salad, which was very good and topped with shaved Asiago cheese. My husband ordered the pepperoni deep dish, and I ordered the Chicken Club sandwich minus bacon, with their Garlic Parm fries. Everything was really good. I asked for a side of ranch for my fries, but honestly, they have such a great flavor, it wasn't needed. Their restrooms have a unique water flow and blow dryer attachment above the sinks, as well as the foot pedal for a no-hands door open. No paper towel usage! Love it. Although they dont deliver to my part of town, it is always worth the drive for Chicago style pizza. Hot , deep deep dish and full of goodies. Given the constraints they do a nice job of supporting curbside pickup and you dont have to go inside. We ordered a Chicago Special w pepperoni peppers mushrooms and onions. This is the second time I've tried to get a take out order from Giordano's. The first time was not long after they opened, and I had to wait an extra hour for my food to be ready. I understand that being close to opening for the first time it was real busy so I didn't completely blame them. This time I ordered online 4 and a half hours in advance so everything would be ready when I showed up. For some reason things weren't ready. I had to wait about 40 minutes past my pick up time and when I finally got home. The food was wrong, a little cold, it was substandard in taste, and it was extremely underwhelming. It almost felt like the food had been sitting around for a while. The manager was very kind and told me he would comp one of the pizzas off of my bill. But they weren't busy, I could have ordered at the counter and gotten my entire order before the time It took me to actually get my order. This place has some of the whiniest bad reviews I think I've ever run across. One guy is upset because he encountered flies, in August, on the patio. He also was not happy that it was really hot that day. Come on Giordano's. Another reviewer's constructive critique is that you should drive 2 hours north to Middleburgh hts to experience good customer service. Sound advice. I'm on my way. I had a very pleasant experience. I ordered on line. I drove over 10 minutes before my pizza was supposed to be ready and it was ready. The nice hostess handed it to me and I thanked her and left. The pizza was good. Not over priced. We were in the area and saw that the place wasn't over run with people. I walked in and was greeted by an empty front. I could see employees; but none came to seat me. At first, I thought they were seating another party, so I waited.... For five minutes. Several employees walked by , not acknowledging my presence. I turned and walked out, disappointed and mildly irked. A greeter followed me out to my car and asked if everything was okay. I explained what happened, she apologized and said that there was immediate seating available. I decided to go back in. As we were being seated, she turned to a coworker and complained about how impatient we were. We were hungry so I decided to ignore the comment. I made plans with another friend to say our goodbyes before we move, so naturally we needed to do say our goodbyes over pizza, because you can't be sad when you're eating pizza, right?!? Nugget and I were early, you know we are on toddler dinner time. It was around 4:30 pm and the entire restaurant was empty, minus a couple in the back. We waited a few minutes, no one was at the hostess station. A few more minutes went by and then someone came out from the back. Once we were seated, I took a gander at the menu. Our server, Candy, came out and was super cheery. While we waited for my friend, I ordered drinks for the table and Nugget's cheese pizza. Why did we order his pizza first? Because no one likes a hangry toddler. My friend showed up and after looking at the menu we opted to order two pizzas (small deep dish pepperoni and a small thin crust spinach, artichoke, and feta pizza). If you're planning on order a deep dish pizza, make sure to order early because the cook time is at least 20 minutes. Nugget's pizza came out super hot. Once it cooled down, he dug in. He literally ate the entire pie in less than 10 minutes. Perhaps we have a future competitive eater on our hands? So by his standards it was good. Our pizzas came out 15-20 minutes after we ordered. Both small pizzas looked like they could feed a family of four. The deep dish was ginormous. I dug into the deep dish first. I'm still on the fence about deep dish. Hear me out. I'm a New Yorker. We like our slices thin, cheesy, greasy, and large. This was literally like a pie. Don't get me wrong it was good, but I'm still not sold on deep dish. Next, I tried the green pizza. It was good. Came here because I was out with the family getting some cigars from Don Rey Cigar, was recommended here because my brother had Giordano's in Chicago he raved about the pizza. We were greeted with a friendly attitude from a guy wish I got his name but he's light colored short hair about 5'10ish medium build he sat us quickly. That's the only reason why I gave it a 2 because of him... We had ordered the deep dish meatball, pepperoni & Canadian bacon pizza, damn I tell you looked awesome, had great cheese pull but other than that it was mediocre pizza this place is way overrated, for a pizza to cook for 45 minutes we should have had a steaming, piping hot pizza BUT it was not, it was lukewarm it seemed like it was sitting around awhile, our waitress only came by once didn't even asked "How was the food?" & the kicker to this it wasn't even packed, yes they had quite a few of tables filled but she wasn't the only server there & we should've had better service than what we had. This was my first visit to this location. My husband and I fell in love with the pizza in Chicago and I was super excited to find that there was a location in Columbus. We got there during the lunch specials, which was awesome! We both ordered the personal pan pizza, pepperoni for him and sausage for me. Plus a side of Garlic Parmesan fries. Everything about Giordano's is good. The food is great and everything taste as expected. I will also say that although good. I don't feel like its truly on the same level as the Giordano's in Chicago. But with that said, when you come here be prepared to wait about 45-1 hour for your pizza. That is how long it takes to make a deep dish, so that's technically not a long wait time. So if you order one it's probably best to get an app to satisfy your hunger for the time being. I took a family here to celebrate a senior photo shoot and Giordano's didn't disappoint. I had been bragging about them for months and my model's mother decided she would take me and my family there as a way of saying thanks. First of all, the fact that this is one of my favorite restaurants is funny since I'm seldom there, mainly because of location. Second, I don't deviate from my pizza choices because I'm a creature of habit. I always want sausage and pepperoni and if I add anything, it's pickles and onions. As a result, I'll order the Chicago Classic which is comprised of sausage, mushrooms, green peppers & onions, then ask them to remove the mushrooms. I love pepperoni, but I'm not hurting if it's missing in a deep dish. Besides, you can always have them add it. I've also had the Italian Beef sandwich which is a real winner and very much like the taste I get when I'm visitng sandwich shops back in Chicago. Finally, it wouldn't be a meal without wings as an appetizer. I've had them all and would eat each one again. I can't say that I have a favorite, but if I had to pick one, it would be the Dry Rubbed Ranch Wings. Any choice is a winner in my book. Yum!!! My boyfriend loves Chicago deep dish but it can be so hard to find. We have eaten at Giordano's in Chicago. I found this location to give a great food option when we were on a brewery trip. Perfect food to fill you up. We arrived early afternoon. The place was nearly empty. There was a large table of businessmen having some lunch and drinks and maybe one other table. Service was a bit slow. I knew going in deep dish takes 45 minutes so I was expecting that. However the waiter was not very attentive about drink refills and we had to keep flagging him down. When it's not busy there really isn't an excuse. The pizza however was delicious. We split a spinach pie. I even got a great cheese pull out of it. This stuff is filling, even to my boyfriend who can usually put down the pizza. It was cheesy with lots of spinach. The sauce is good and I of course add red pepper flakes and Parmesan on top. We don't have Chicago deep dish near us but enjoy it when we get the chance. If we happen to be in Columbus again we would definitely go again. read more

The waitress had keyed it in wrong. 45 minutes later, the right order came out. We were already done eating and had our pizza boxed up by the time theirs came out. I'll just list the pros and cons Pros: *Great tasting pizza compared to most mainstream places like papajohns/pizza hut/etc *Polite and friendly staff Cons:The silverware was not clean and had a ton of smudges and on it as if it wasn't cleaned *The glass of beer I had was okay but after the first sip I already noticed it was not a clean glass and had backwash in it or some weird gross mixture of food in it which I can only guess was someone's food that they spit back in their cut and somehow made it to my glass *The seats are very sticky which I thought was maybe cleaning product? or could've been actually sticky from other people *bugs were visible in that place and what bothered me alot is they have a rotating door which is very problematic for bugs to easily get in and me and my brother spent like 15 min swatting flies from our faces Overall it was okay but I wouldn't recommend it if you want a clean healthy eating atmosphere as not only is the glass dirty with someone's possible backwash or other foods but nothing was clean for eating. I wanted a nice pizza and relaxation. The pizza was good but we didn't like the crust. It was brittle and cracker like. The inside parts were real good. Our order took well over an hour. If you're any kind of fan of deep dish pizza you need to go to Giordano's! This pizza is heaven on a plate. Be prepared to spend some time here, the pizza takes awhile to come out, about 45-60 min, so you definitely have time for drinks and apps. I stuck with a simple pepperoni and I wasn't disappointed! The layers of cheese and pepperoni are amazing! The waiter will typically serve it for you - they're pretty skilled and making sure all of the cheese makes it on your plate. There's plenty of seating inside and outside, however it is located in Polaris so expect it to be busy all the time. As someone who lived in Chicago for a couple years, I would consider myself to be an experienced Chicago style pizza eater. While in Chicago, I only visited Giordano's once before I fell in love with a smaller, one location, pizza spot on the Northside. I'll leave that a mystery to you all but if you know, you know. While I've been in Columbus for a couple years now, I just recently made it to the Giordano's we have here in the Polaris area. My sister, her boyfriend, and my nephew and I came to celebrate my nephews 8th birthday for lunch. After putting my name down on the waitlist, we hung out near to the door for about ten minutes before a booth was ready for us. While waiting I took a peek at the bar area, snapped a few pictures of the giant "Eat Pizza" sign, and admired their bathroom. Seriously, you don't have to touch anything once you're out of the stall. The soap, water, and dryer are all hands free and they even have a lever at the bottom of the door so you don't need to use your hands. Attention to detail at its finest. I was impressed! Ok, ok, now on to our dining experience. Our server was quick to bring us water and take our drink orders. She also advised on how long the pizzas would take and broke them down by type. Obviously the famous deep dish would take close to an hour, but we appreciated the heads up. We started with the appetizer sampler and I got a ceasar salad. The sampler included wings, cheesy bread, mozzarella triangles, and bruschetta. I tried one of the mozzarella triangles and wasn't a fan. The bruschetta on the other hand was great! My salad was good too, I ate every bite. Eventually the pizzas came out. While my sister and her boyfriend went with a deep dish with all the meats, my nephew got the kids spaghetti, and I ordered an extra thin crust margherita. Everyone was pretty happy with their meals except for me. I asked about the thin crust being crispy before I ordered it and was told that yeah, it's a pretty crispy crust because it's so thin. Well folks, this crust was not crispy. It was almost like a tortilla. Super soft, flimsy, no crunch at all. I honestly thought it was under cooked, how else can a thin crust pizza be so soft? I had a couple pieces and decided to save the rest for later. I can say that once I reheated it at home, it was delicious! Overall, I would definitely come back. I've been to Giordanos multiple times in Chicago, as well as Gino's East and Lou Malnati's. I personally prefer Lou Malnati's, but Giordanos is still a SOLID option, and it's the only option that we get in Columbus, so yeah. Now, an important disclaimer: I've only ever carried out from this location, and I plan on keeping it that way. Here's why: This is the only Giordano's in the state of Ohio. And it's at Polaris. So it's gonna be busy. They don't take reservations. And oftentimes, there's a significant wait to be seated. Chicago style pizzas take a looooong time to make. We're talking close to an hour. So it's entirely feasible that you might wait an hour to be seated, and another hour to get your pizza. That doesn't sound fun to me at all. But their pizza is so good! So what should you do when you have a craving for a Chicago style pizza and don't want to make the 5~6 hour drive to Chicago? Order online, pick it up, and eat it at home like I do! Their online ordering system lets you order earlier in the day and select what time to pick up your pizza. Boom. If you live within a 30 minute drive of Giordanos, which is basically the vast majority of Columbus, you're probably better off carrying out than dining in. read more

"Yes, take out please." I say "I'm sorry you have to use the online ordering system for take out." "Really? I can't. I'm driving right now." "Sorry sir, take out is online ordering." "You honestly cant write, large pepperoni with tomatoes?" "Take out is online only, we are understaffed." * Unheard of! Now I'm not saying this or that, but being railroaded into online. In the full time of our conversation my order would have been taken. I have never ever heard of a pizza place risking losing customers over virtual vs talktime. I'm a huge proponent of Chicago style. This was AMAZING! I can't believe I'm only 2 hours away from this place. I no longer have to drive all the way to Chicago! I got the small for two people. Plenty! We got pepperoni, sausage and spinach. It was....no words! Please note! It takes about 45mins to make. Luckily, when we arrived there was a hour wait and they allow you to place your order when you arrive so When you get your table, the food isn't far behind. The service was immaculate! Bare bones version: they forgot to add me to the wait list so I never got seated. Thankfully after emailing with management we sorted out the kinks and I ended up giving them a second try. It just seems wholly unfair to hold a grudge against a new popular restaurant when they're trying to cope with an onslaught of weekend business. Second attempt: success. He explained right away that the deep dish pizzas can take up to 50 minutes so we were able to place our order for that first. Thankfully, having two kids in tow, appetizers come out very quick, and if you order a kid's pizza it won't take as long either. The appetizer combo was a nice treat while waiting for the pizza. I didn't particularly care for the cheese bread but all the others (boneless chicken wings with BBQ or buffalo dipping sauce, potato bites, mozzarella triangles) were all really good. And with complimentary wifi, I could stream a movie when the snacks and kids pizza lost their appeal. The pizza came out quicker than originally quoted. And boy was it good. I got the meat pizza: pepperoni, sausage, salami, and bacon. They didn't skimp on any of the toppings, there was tons of cheese and lots of sauce. The crust was crisp and held up to all the toppings. There's a lot more sauce than a normal pizza, next time I'll most definitely ask for light sauce. We ordered some cannoli before we left, and it was the perfect light treat after such a filling meal. Chicago deep dish pizza in Columbus. Unique style pizza with a menu filled with a variety of classic Italian favorites to the Italian beef sandwich, bruchetta, cannoli's and tiramisu. This restaurant is located on Polaris Parkway in a strip mall near a UDF with plenty of parking. Please, please plan ahead if pizza is on your dinner agenda. It takes a full 30 minutes to cook but another 20 minutes to prep. Once inside the staff takes your name and will text you once a table comes available. We were quoted 1 hour so we decided to explore the area, however, we were told to order our pizza in 45 minutes by calling their store number so the pizza would be ready sooner but 20 minutes into our wait we were texted. Hmm, very far off from the hour they originally stated but let's talk food. I ordered a sangria while we waited for our pizza. It was slightly sweet and had a few cherries and Orange slice as a garnish. We also ordered the calamari and the Italian beef sandwich. The server was attentive at the beginning and got our drinks and the calamari quicker then we expected. The calamari encompassed both rings and tentacles of the squid along with green beans, onions, peppers and lemons. Yes, fried lemons. Not a fan! It was not my favorite calamari but sufficed as we were hungry. We split the Italian beef and oh my. This was the show stopper. The sandwich had a crispy bread with deliciously seasoned beef that we topped with au jus sauce and peppers along with provolone cheese. Please order this, especially perfect for lunch along with a side salad like we ordered. $7.95 during lunch. So, let's fast forward to the second hour of our experience when our pizza was delivered to the wrong table. Oh, to make matters worst the pizza takes 45 minutes total from order to delivery to your table. What a horrible experience. The general manager, JJ, quickly got involved and made us another pizza and comp our check. Resolution solved, however, another 45 minutes to wait. We spent a total of 3 1/2 hours trying to experience the pizza and so sad about it all. We took the pie home and warmed it in the oven. It was crispy and filling. Too bad I didn't have pictures to send from my kitchen table. It was a bitter experience that I do not wish on anybody. We will be back but scared to do so on a Friday or Saturday when they are busy. Unfortunately it does not match the quality or quantity of toppings as the original Giordano's restaurant in downtown Chicago. We got THE SPECIAL - DEEP DISH Sausage, mushrooms, green peppers & onions. The toppings were 75% green peppers, 10% onions, 10% mushrooms, and only 5% sausage!! It was practically a Vegetarian Pizza !! I was extremely disappointed. I thought this would be my New favorite pizza place in Columbus, but sadly NO. The original location in Chicago is the best pizza I have ever eaten, so why can't the cooks in this Columbus restaurant maintain that quality and quantity of ingredients?? I will NOT be going back. I made the mistake of ordering the margherita pizza and it was the thin crust and it looked and tasted terrible. I have had frozen pizza from the grocery that was better than this. read more

Finally. Actual Chicago pizza. A few things to know before you go: 1. They appear to be understaffed 2. Chicago pizza takes time to cook. This is not fast food. 3. It's worth the wait. Delicious!!! Went in a Sunday for lunch. We ordered the pep/sausage pizza. We shared wings and an Italian beef sandwich while we waited. The garlic parm fries are delicious. Get cheese on the Italian beef. The pizza arrived hot and oozing with cheese. Crispy pie crust. Leftovers did not survive the night. We will return! read more

I do not like anything from this place. Their pizza is mediocre. Sauce has no flavor. If you get a super thin it's really not. Spent $60 on a medium and a large extra thin and they put the cheese over the toppings which is something I don't like. I like my pepperonis crispy. But the flavor of the pepperonis was horrible. The sausage is decent but the sauce is so bland that I don't like anything that has it on there. I also tried their mozzarella wedges and somehow it was gross. The breading tasted old and stale and I ate it fresh. I tried the meatball sub and the flavor of the meat was gross and dry. Tried the Alfredo and I swear it just tasted like mayo flavored noodles. No salt no seasoning. No flavor. Chicken wings were rubbery and soggy even when I asked for extra crispy. This place is just bad. Don't eat here if you Iike flavor. read more
