    Chicago style deep dish slice

2.5 stars. I haven't had Giordano's in ages and always been a Giordano's fan. We came here for dinner. We had the brushchetta (okay didn't have much of any basil and huge slices of mozzarella needed more acidity) and fried calamari/veggie appetizer (weird it even had fried slices of lemon too; the fried banana peppers were tasty) and one stuffed Chicago classic (decent). The service was really slow like a turtle and the hare story, I believe they were really short staffed. Our waitress covered two rooms that one night we were there and we even had the hostess serve us our food to and bring our check. Overall nothing impressive and food was just eh not that great anymore.

Found out about this restaurant in Oswego after learning it has a couple locations around. It has a…read moreclassy casualness about it. Neat Kitchen And Bar is still a lot more casual though. A happy hour always helps. The food can get pricy but there's a few things at okay prices. Coming here was actually kind of hard because of where it actually is. It's kind of hidden from the main road. There's only one way to get in here and you have to make the correct turns. Has a bar with a good amount of seats at it. Rest of the inside has plenty of tables. It's $7 for cocktail specials at happy hour. The best one of these we got was the Caramel Harvest Spritz. Has a sweetness to it. This is made with apple cider, soda, and Wheatley vodka. It's $14 for the B.Y.O.B. Burger. We added $1 more to get the veggie patty. Looks a lot like a typical burger. These come with a side such as fries. Have to say it turned out pretty good actually. It's closed Mondays. There's another location in Westmont.

Neat Kitchen is exactly what Oswego's dining scene has been missing. We finally have a non-fast…read morefood, non-chain restaurant that's actually worth sitting down and dining at. While it's not overly fancy, more of an elevated bar-food concept, it still exceeded all of my expectations. They've also done an incredible job remodeling the space that used to be Prohibition. The ambiance is warm and welcoming while still feeling cozy and refined. The drinks are fantastic & honestly, I'd come here just for cocktails and appetizers with friends. My group ordered an Old Fashioned, a Manhattan, and I went with the Golden Cider, which was like a fall-inspired Moscow Mule. We all loved our drinks and would definitely order them again. For an appetizer, we shared the mussels (a family favorite). The portion size was impressive & easily more than what you get at most places & the sauce was absolutely delicious. The accompanying bread complemented it perfectly. I'd absolutely reorder this. For my meal, I went with the Shrimp Po'Boy since it's not something you often see around here, while the others in my party tried the Wagyu burger and loved it. The shrimp on my sandwich were perfectly battered and fried, and the sandwich itself was enormous with great flavor and portion size all around. Service was great as well; our waitress was friendly and attentive, and we had a wonderful overall experience. I'm genuinely so happy that Oswego finally has a solid local dining option. I highly recommend checking out Neat Kitchen whether for a casual dinner, a night out with friends, or just drinks and apps, it's a fantastic addition to the area. I wish I did a better job at taking photos but we were all so hungry and excited that I forgot lol
