Very cool trendy spot. LA vibes for sure. My friend saw some celebs here one time. Glad we came on a Sunday for lunch after church! It was a fun experience. Tried a lot of things while we were here bc why not! My favorite things I had were from the bakery: goat cheese scone & chocolate croissant. Top tier pastries. We also were big fans of the cauliflower side dish. Great flavor. I don't typically go for cauliflower but this was nice. Fries were also pretty good. The chicken dumpling soup was also really good. Definitely more of a chicken noodle soup though. Still delicious but felt like false advertising maybe? No big deal I ordered the pastrami Reuben, and unfortunately it came out like 20-30 mins later than everything else. By the time it came, everyone else was basically done eating and I wasn't even that hungry anymore. Tough! We asked a few waiters to check on it and it still took a while. Sadly, wasn't very good either. The slowness probably made me less interested in it anyway. I think it has fennel on it, & I'm not a fan of fennel. Oh well! Street parking wasn't too bad for us, but street parking is always hit or miss. If it weren't for the slow service, I'd be all in on this place. Very fun cool spot! On top of it I knew I wanted Lox (shoutouts to DBlock) but I wasn't sure what kind since they have a bunch of options. After talking to Elias and having him describe the differences I decided to try the Pastrami Lox (Gravlax). Perfect choice with that bagel. Add cream cheese and pickled red onions and the meal was Heavenly. I also wanted an iced coffee. After asking for a recommendation Elias told me about the Salted Mocha which was right up my alley. Twas okay. We got the Meatball Sandwich + Italian Sandwich. My friends enjoyed the contents of the Italian Sandwich, however the bread was tough to chew. Ordering was interesting as you have to grab a ticket and then wait for them to call your ticket number to order. We waited for about 30 minutes to order on a Saturday around 1 pm, but the food itself came out relatively fast. 20% gratuity is included already. The inside and outside patio is cute though and it's nice to sit in the sun while you eat! I wouldn't order the Salted Coffee again but the Honey Latte was okay. Had such a good fish dip toast here this morning and drip coffee. I was initially confused by the setup inside since there were two ordering counters. The staff were super kind and helpful explaining how to order. The outdoor patio is huge and they brought my coffee and food out so quickly !! I loved the design inside and outdoor ambiance. The management of this establishment is extremely lackluster, weak, and all over the place in the worst ways. The menu is seemingly impressive on paper with a ton of promise, but $22 for a Banh Mi sandwich, for example, when it was most definitely the weakest one that I have ever indulged in my life, speaks much to the whole vibe of the cafe across the spectrum of pledge and delivery which brings immediate disappointment. Also, $25 for a salmon roe bagel?.... Really? It most definitely rests on the location and soaking in tourism to Venice than worthwhile merits from the food, system, or service. Even for the Westside by the beach, these prices for what you try to enjoy are comically absurd. You order your items, take a number to a table that you find for yourself, and overpay for fairly simple food handed from a perpetually new employee seemingly every instance since the management must be on some tax write-off crusade to introduce and show the exit to "employees" quicker than any anecdotal measurement. If you patronize this establishment, it's wholly and only due to seeing other transplants to our city cruising through "hip" places in entitled belief that overpaying for simple food, when little of it is fresh beyond bread items, along with seating yourself, is a status-bringing activity as long as others of that ilk see them too. There are a zillion fantastic, local places to indulge in our wonderful city that employs locals, delivers wonderful cuisine and service on their own merits, and treats Los Angeles as a largely working-class place than this depressingly distorted perception that it must be a perpetual front and flex like everywhere is Bel Air or Bev Hills shown on reality TV. Some gluten free and vegan options. It might be a little overwhelming when you first enter because there's a lot of different things, lines, products going on but be patient. Take a number! First line us just for coffee and pastries/bread. Last two lines past the refrigerated cases are for ordering food and everything else. Pick up drinks at the end if it's to go. All kinds of pickled stuff, fermented, smoked fish and salmon, pizzas, sandwiches, cold cuts, egg breakfasts dishes, mezze platters, olives, salads... so hard to choose!! They have amazing jams, seasoned salts, granola and other nuts that are packaged to go. I got the seasoned salts when I grill my fish and it's just perfect. Plenty of outdoor seating and covered areas. You'll be surrounded by olive trees, wooden tables and benches, sunny and shady areas. So relaxing. Service is quick and efficient. The ordering process was annoying and confusing. None of the menus they had out were the correct menus for the day (it was all a catering menu for 4th of July). Staff had to get us a menu after we stood around trying to figure out how to order.
