I wanted ice cream and was introduced to this little spot. I walked in a felt a little overwhelmed at the beginning, as this establishment has so much to offer. Lol, so this is in a good way. There is variety from a sweet tooth craving to a salty or savory food choice instead.. there is a very small seating area(inside) that you can utilize in the case that you don't want to eat on the go. The owner is very nice, as he was running his business this particular day. Be aware of the additional charges on "all tenders" per the sign posted at the register. Awesome service. Nice little ice cream shop that also has food. Very cool little environment. I use to go as a little kid. I'm 40 now and I took my son for the first time. He loved it. I think I'll get a hot link or chili cheese fries next time I go too. The ice cream is very good. It's very creamy and not icy at all. I got cookies n cream on a sugar cone dipped in chocolate with nuts. There was an actual whole cookie in my scoop. My wife got an espresso chip ice cream that was absolutely delicious. I'll be back! Never seem to be able to find someone to help me every time I've needed it. Then when I finally get someone to help they are extremely incompetent, but for my last visit when a gal walked up in the middle of my issue being discussed with 2 other associates and solved my problem within 5 seconds. My parents first started coming here when they were pregnant with my older brother. Now its like a family staple. Have been eating here since as long as i can remember and i love everything on the menu. My favorites are their roast beef tortas! Their banana splits are amazing, their matcha with boba? The best! This is my first time here at Gleasons since I was a kid, so well over 15 years. I remember coming here and loving the ice cream while the adults favored their loaded hot dogs. I'm very pleased to find out they're every bit as good as I remember! My grandma loves her food and I love mine. I grabbed the asada fries with mild sauce and man, this is comfort food at its finest. The mild sauce had a really lovely flavor, and everything came out hot and fresh! Lighting fast service with an amazing cashier, and a wonderful cook! The lady has the nerve to get rude with me saying we have a lot of customers ahead of you. If you cannot handle your business with the 2 employees you have then hire more employees you rude idiot! Everything is very reasonable I had the 99cent tacos beef and chicken they weren't the best tacos but they're not bad neither and we had chili cheese nachos that were pretty decent, They also do a super burrito 4.99 that I intend on trying my next visit, they have a bunch of flavors of ice creams, slushies, and shaved ice and the also do fresh donut's at 1pm. Many years ago use to be an old fashioned ice cream parlor that had excellent service. Use to stop at least once a week on my way home for one of their screaming sundaes and hot dogs. They just don't make them like they used to anymore. Left the Stockton area for about 10+!years. Just moved back and had a craving for one of their hot dogs. They used to be opened until late in the evening so I stopped by around 3:00 p.m and they were closed. Looked as if they hadn't been open in awhile. I'll try again next time I'm down town. (07/26/16) I don't frequent this place as much as I should for ice cream, but I'll definitely try to when I'm craving the ice cold creamy goodness from now on. I ordered a (homemade) chocolate dipped waffle cone with mint chocolate chip and cookies n creme. At first glance of the mint I wasn't sure if I'd like it bc I didn't see a lot of chocolate in it like Thrifty's or Leatherby's. To my surprise it was good! Maybe not as good as my 2 faves but I won't need to think twice ordering it. The overall flavor and creaminess made me forget it didn't have that much chocolate chip. The cookies n creme was good as well. So my go-to combination is in no way compromised here. The main lady helping everyone was really nice. Friendly greeting and a nice send off as well. The BEST Banana Split in Stockton! Banana Split (***** $5.29) The Banana Split is made on a 4" x 6" Styrofoam plate on which a flattened Waffle Cone is shaped into a "Waffle Dish", I guess. If you order the Split the "traditional" way, a scoop each of Strawberry, Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream is placed on the Waffle Dish. Bob brought me back one scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, my favorite. One scoop I must caution you is large, I'd say at least 8 oz. 8 ounces of creamy, icy, vanilla beanie goodness that is!
