We purchased my daughters prom gown here and that was fine, the sales person was very nice. However, the problem came with the alterations. ABSOLUTE RIP OFF. they wanted to charge me $315 to hem the gown and shorten the shoulders. Of course, they did not tell me the price until we were done with the pinning. When I picked up the gown, the alterations were not complete, despite them calling me to tell me they were complete. This is two weeks before my daughters prom! I did not know the dress wasn't finished until I got home, almost 2 hours away. Every time I called, I was on the phone for half an hour and basically got nowhere. Nobody could solve my problem. I ended up finding a local seamstress who did all the alterations for $55. DO NOT HAVE THEM DO YOUR ALTERATIONS. Almost every conversation I had with the young girls who work there was completely condescending and rude. Not the way I expect to be treated when I'm dropping almost $1000. read more

I went to this store looking for a special occasion dress and immediately felt unwelcomed as soon as I walked in the door (should've just turned around and walked out, but for whatever reason I stayed). After standing upfront for 20 minutes twiddling my thumbs waiting for assistance to look at the dresses (apparently I'm not capable of doing this by myself and needed an escort) a girl finally makes an appearance.... The only positive comment I have about this place is that there are LOTS of options to chose from, but you'll probably end up breaking your arm trying to search through the severely overpacked racks. Anyways, as I was looking I felt incredibly uncomfortable having not only the useless sales girl following me around but an older gentleman (assuming he's the owner??) following me and watching me like a hawk. And also telling me what dresses I can and cannot look at on racks... never have I ever felt so uncomfortable at a store. I went back to try on a few dresses because I obviously still needed one for my event and didn't like how the first one looked so I didn't bother leaving the dressing room. But before I could change the sales rep barged in and demanded I stand in front of the mirror....mind you this wouldn't have been a huge deal to me if the dress was actually zipped up and the sales representative and the old man didn't see my butt..... After the embarrassment passed and I made it back to my dressing room I could hear the gentleman telling her to "keep her eye on me." I couldn't get myself dressed quick enough. Keep her eye on me for what exactly?? I gave no indication that I was in there for any intention other than to purchase a dress. After the obvious racial profiling I left the place quickly and in tears due to his behavior. NEVER will I ever return here. read more

I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. All employees are rude and favor the tiny girls over those are a bit bigger. Makes customers uncomfortable and humiliated. Needed to return items more than once and they made it as hard as possible. They sell used items (shoes, jewelry, etc) but at original prices. I spent $350 on my daughters prom dress and then they charged me $360 for alterations which included a hem and a bustle (ridiculous that alterations cost more than the dress) and when I picked it up it was all wrinkled and hadn't even been steamed (as I was promised) so I asked them to steam it and waited for 45 min. to have the girl return a wrinkled dress to me. I swear they never steamed it. They told me it was the material. Really? Then they told me that I should get a steamer a d steam it a couple of days before the prom! Isn't that what they should do! Come on-I dumped almost $700 at this place and I leave with a wrinkled dress. Oh-did I mention there was a weird stain on the chest of the dress that I could see and another worker could see, but the girl said I don't see it and packed it up. This place is a rip off and the girls working could care less about the product or the stores reputation. Get your dress at an establishment that cares about their clients and the quality of their garments. read more

Overcrowded, very inexperienced staff, the racks are so ever rowed with dresses, that it makes it almost impossible to look through them. Fitting/dressing rooms way to small, not adequate area or lighting to walk around and get a feeling of the dress (in our case, Junior prom) very disappointed!! read more

I went to the Liberty tree mall location and purchased 3 dresses, all the same but different colors. The manager who helped me never mentioned that these were final sale, and also never asked me the "wear date". She checked me out and made up a wear date which was 3 days from purchase. This date was a Tuesday night, how would I even wear 3 dresses in 3 days and on a Tuesday night to boot? Also, I did not receive a receipt, the printer was down. I went in to return 2 of the dresses, and was immediately treated terribly. They would not let me speak to a manager on the phone....and they called mall security. I was in there with my 2 year old, trying to return dresses....the whole experience was terrible! Do not shop here! PS does anyone need to buy a dress? I have two for sale! read more

Had a great experience here shopping with my daughter for her Jr Prom. The saleswoman , Cathy J was phenomenal. Super helpful and friendly, not pushy and made the whole process an enjoyable one. Great selection of dresses, only wish we had a different person helping us. Wilma was sooo pushy and rude! Barging into dressing room without even asking if my daughter needed help. We didn't even have time to look at the dresses on before Wilma was asking do you like it or not and unzipping it. It is seldom that I leave reviews but for this particular experience, I must. I am SO impressed with not only the selection here, but the service received at this store. My little sister is the definition of a PROM-ZILLA. Not only does she have a hard body to shop for, she is extremely particular and a bit of a diva. Also, we were dress shopping for an event just 4 days before it was held (imagine the stress!!) We arrived at the store around 1PM and was greeted by a sweet young lady. She helped us with the sizes and introduced us to my sister's fairy godmother, Donna. Donna was an absolute gem to work with. She helped my overwhelmed sister every step of the way and not once was she without a smile and a soothing voice. She helped bounce ideas and was extremely creative with picking accessories. We didn't leave the store until around 4 PM and Donna's attitude never changed. To be honest, we would NOT have found a dress, in such short time, without her. Thank you SO much!!!!!! read more

i had originally written a review on here because i worked there and the manager FORCED me to! but now that i dont work there anymore, i HATE this place. you cant find any dresses first of all. i cant sort through the racks because theres about 100 in one spot and side note the bags smell like fish:). also, if you dont look like a model with perfect features and pounds of makeup they treat you like crap as an employee. the manager is currently 19... also! they hired another manager and that day she laid me and a few other girls off without even knowing me or my work ethic. unfortunately, i have to go back there and finish paying off my dress. they probably wont be able to find it though because my friend waited 50 minutes for them to find her $850 dress that she PAID for. ridiculous. read more

This review is meant for the Gllitterati at Liberty Tree mall. This review has no reflection up on the Maple Street location (the women who worked there were very nice and pleasant). I would rate 0 stars if I could. I told the attendant what my friend and I were looking for. She completely Ignored what I said and gave my friend dresses that she clearly wasn't interested in. She kept pushing more dresses on her when I could clearly see she was upset and extremely uncomfortable. I believe prom dress attendants should be supportive and not pushy at all. I even overheard her asking another party to put a deposit down on a dress when they were clearly not liking that one either. I am infuriated and deeply disappointed because I had high hopes that this store would be so much better. Thanks to the attendant at this store, my friend's confidence was crushed and that is 100% not the way you should feel when shopping for prom dresses. We will be goIng to The Ultimate in Peabody where we had better luck with understanding and supportive attendants with excellent customer service. read more

Very impressed with this women's store. I took my 15 year old daughter to Glitterati last night for a gown. The owner and staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. We walked out with a beautiful dress and a pair of earrings. I will definitely be coming here again for both pageant and prom needs for my daughter. read more

Please don't even bother to go here! 2 daughters have bought prom dresses here. The first one (4 years ago) was sold a dress that was too big, our seamstress told us it fit wrong and the alterations would cost as much as the dress because of all the beading. She urged us to exchange it for a smaller size. After a battle I finally convinced the manager to let us exchange it which is against their policy. Last year with my next daughter, I knew a little more about fit and when the sales woman tried to convince her to buy the wrong size I refused. You could see it didn't fit right. They didn't have her size in stock and they told us they could not order it. They said it was an "exclusive" and we would not find it online. Lies! I pulled it up on my phone while we stood there. They tried to convince her she looked much better in a different dress. We decided to leave and order the dress she liked on-line when suddenly they decided they really could order it! Fast forward to this year. Same daughter went with friends just to look (without me) and again high pressure sales woman, Aurora, tried to convince her to get a dress that was the wrong size because they didn't have the proper size! My daughter said she didn't want to buy a dress without her mother seeing first and Aurora actually made fun of her! She then said the dress probably wouldn't be there if she didn't buy it now. Also made rude comments about the girls shopping at another store. These people are all about making the sale and will try every trick in the book to pressure teens into buying any dress. They don't know or care how a dress is supposed to fit, and the alterations can be very costly especially on a beaded bodice! Also they have a lot of stock but not as much turnover which is why they refuse to order. They want you to choose from their inventory, some of which are many years old. Recently I brought my beautiful niece to Glitterati to buy a prom dress. She is junior size 11/12. The experience did not go well. We were told dresses for "her size" were upstairs and we would need to wait for someone to bring us up there. I wasn't thrilled that we were being relegated upstairs but I was OK with that until every smaller girl who walked in after us was quickly given a dress stylist and whisked away to find their perfect gown. Strike 1. We took the elevator upstairs. The elevator was cold. It made loud creaking noises and jolted to the point I thought we would be stuck in there forever. I was relieved when the door opened but quite surprised to be in what I can only described as a dimly lit over glorified attic. Strike 2. As we looked through the small rack of dresses my niece said to me, " These are all last year's dresses." Sure enough when we took the stairs down to the main level my niece pointed at all the new styles and she was right. Not a single one was upstairs. Strike 3. Buying your dress for the senior prom is a big deal. It's a right of passage. Facebook pages are dedicated to who is wearing what. The average gown is $400 to $700. It should be a fun and exciting experience. Glitterati obviously only wants that experience for girls who are a size 4. Shame on them. read more

I heard really good things from my friends who said this was a great place to get nice prom dresses. I did my research, looked online and finally decided I'd give it a try. So, my mother and I went on a 2 hour drive down to Danvers in order to see if I can possibly get a good dress. Upon getting there the lady was looking at us really funny and seemed annoyed by our presence. With that she hands us a list of dresses other girls from my school purchased and sends us up to the third floor where "someone will be up there to help us". We get up there and there's absolutely NO ONE there and we have never been to this shop before so we assumed that we had to wait for someone to come up before we could start try things on. We probably waited 20-25 minutes waiting on this person to help before we just got up and looked at somethings on our own. I am not a small person and they had a large variety of 0-6 dresses while the 12-14 dresses were pushed towards that back and there was no variety! My mom and I realized that it was not worth the disrespect nor the 2 hour drive down there so we took our shit and left! You would think if people are willing to pay 300+ dollars on your dresses at your store you'd have a bit of respect for them. I guess not! read more

Seeing the reviews, and knowing that my daughter's friend bought her dress at this store, I was feeling adventuresome and headed down from New Hampshire for prom dress shopping with my daughter. We arrived late in the day, and quickly realized we had a wait for the dressing room. We decided to stay to satisfy our curiosity rather than come back on a less busy day. The store is huge. Upon entering, customers are accosted with the overstuffed racks of plastic covered gowns. It was a bit overwhelming to see. I thought to myself, "if one can't find a dress here...one can't find a dress anywhere." We were instructed to only pick 3 dresses, and get in line for the dressing room, the attendants will find more gowns for my daughter as she tries them on. We did this and after waiting for an hour, we decided to take another look on the racks to help fill our waiting time. We did find three more which I brought to the girl and she added the dresses to our initial 3. She did ask us not to pick out anymore, and we obliged. Still having time to wait, we went next door to grab a quick bite to eat at Dunkin Donuts. Upon arriving back to the store, we had another 20 minute wait for the dressing room. After a 2 1/2 hour wait, it was finally our turn for my daughter to try on her dresses. The attendant took us upstairs to the 3rd floor dressing rooms. Up there is usually where the semi-formal dresses are kept. Again, tons of semi-formal dresses. But since they were so busy, they were utilizing all the floors. Up to this point, we really did not have much for customer service, but we did not pay attention to this. It was a very busy day, and I figured those in the dressing rooms were getting service. The attendants were busy bustling back and forth for the customers trying on dresses. Going up to the dressing rooms, my daughter was allowed to bring up three of the dresses she picked out, and told that someone would come back down and bring up the other three. Once she was in the dressing room, not one person checked in on her. the other three dresses did miraculously appear, but I have not idea when, and no one told her they were there. She tried on 4 out of the three dresses, and was sorely disappointed in the look and style. As I struggled with hooking the back straps for each dress, no one offered to give assistance, no one commented on the dresses, no one offered to look for a different style (which I was expressly told someone would be able to help with)...mind you we are now 3 floors up, all the prom dresses are on the first floor, not easy to pop out to look for more styles...no one offered to help with tailoring suggestions, no one paid one bit of attention to her at all. With two dresses left to try on, my daughter called it quits. She was not necessarily in love with the dresses, and it was obvious no one was going to help her out to find more on the floor which is the procedure with this store. I gave this store one star because even with the size and selection of the gowns, the experience and customer service just was not there, These gowns are pricey....this is not Macy's where you can sale shop and coupon the heck out of a dress. This is the third formal dress shop we had been to this week. The two other stores were very busy as well. President's weekend, guess the time for all high school girls to get an early jump on prom shopping. The other two shopping experiences were so much better. One store we went to, Madeline's Daughter in Portsmouth NH, had only two attendants, but those two attendants did more for their 20 or more customers than the multitude of attendants did at Glitterati. Remember when I stated, "if one can't find a dress here...one can't find a dress anywhere." Well, my thought was wrong. Because my daughter did find dresses she loves at the other two stores, and the dress selections and the size of the other two stores were much smaller. She found the dresses with the help the of the stores' customer's service. She did not care for the dresses she tried on at Glitterati, and did not have the opportunity to try on other choices due to the lack of customer service or the opportunity to go in search for herself. She was expressly told that someone would go back a search for her. Glitterati does have a large inventory of dresses. If you are looking for customer service, perhaps go on a day which would have lighter traffic. Maybe you will have better luck. I forgot to mention, that when we called to set up an appointment, they do not take appointments. With a day like yesterday, they should have. Many customers left after a long wait without a being served. The wait was just too long. Upon entering, I overheard a mother and daughter talking about how they had been there since 10:am, and they were just leaving at 3:15. Take a look at the other 1 star. Be sure to take that review in consideration before shopping. read more

To make a long story short, I went in pretty much ready with guns a-blazing looking for a refund and expected for it to be a super difficult process given the circumstances but the owner was super understanding and helpful. I took my daughter here tonight to shop for a prom dress. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL staff! We were never greeted upon arrival. We were never asked if we needed any help during our hour long visit. We found the dressing rooms on our own (I helped with taking dresses off hangers and zipping my daughter in dresses). Not once did anyone ask if she needed a different size and then when leaving, walked past the managers at the front of the store and no one said anything as we exited. Buyer be ware, if your going to spend $400 on a dress, take your hard earned money somewhere where your business will be appreciated. read more

I spent around $700 in this store buying shoes, jewelry, and a dress. When I got home, I had two right feet and an 8 1/2 and a 7 1/2. I had to drive two hours there and two hours back to return the shoes. Then, they were supposed to fix the hook on my dress and did such a poor job that I had to pay to get that fixed later on as well. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

I would like to firstly say that I have been a regular customer of Glitterati for the past year - consistently buying full price dresses for all my events and special occasions. I would also suggest this store to all my family and friends UNTIL my recent trip to the store. I am extremely disturbed by the unethical business practices of this store. I went in to buy two dresses and the manager who was extremely rude and unprofessional decided to change the sticker price to a significantly higher amount. He made a snark remark suggesting that because I had purchased full prices dresses before that these dresses would be more expensive for me. I am appalled at this store and the service that I have received. They were extremely rude to my mother as well which I will never tolerate. If you go into their horrid store I would only say prepare to be ripped off - they are unethical, pushy, and a bunch of liers. read more

February 2, 2016 was the fourth time I've purchased a prom dress for my two daughters at Glitterati. This was the first time for this daughter. Was it busy, yes it's prom season it's like Toys R Us the week of Christmas busy. However, the staff handled it with grace. My daughter and I never felt like a number. Sarah N. was an amazing sales clerk. She made us feel like my daughter was the only girl in the store looking for a dress. She worked with my daughter for 3 hours finding the right dress for her. She even put her hair up with elastics to give the dress right feel. I needed to call Christopher the owner this morning when I realized the check out clerk accidentally put the town the prom is in on the receipt vs the school (two high schools in the same town). He was amazing, he worked with me to verify that my daughter's dress was not double sold, he was pleasant and courteous. Problem fixed! Happy daughter very happy Mom!!! The personalized customer service is what keeps bringing me back to Glitterati. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but I had such a good experience here that I had to share it! I live around an hour away from Danvers but the drive was totally worth it. I recently bought a prom dress from Glitterati after looking for the longest time that was also within my budget (under $300). I went to The Ultimate in Peabody first, which was much more disorganized than here; I'd definitely say that going to The Ultimate was a waste of time. The dresses at The Ultimate were also more expensive than Glitterati (everything there was $300 and up), plus the majority of dresses there were in poor condition. I was unsure about Glitterati when I drove up to it, since it looked so small, but I was pleasantly surprised. There were so many beautiful dresses in stock at really good prices! The dresses were color coordinated, which I liked. Everyone working at Glitterati was kind and professional. I found the perfect dress within my price range and I couldn't be happier! Plus, you get a free dress bag if you follow Glitterati on social media! I went around 5:00 and it wasn't crowded. I wish I knew about this store for junior prom! I would recommend Glitterati to anyone! read more

I was so excited to go prom dress shopping with my mom and my best friend. I walked in to see a very small and crowded shopping area with girls pushing us out of the way. I was told my dress size would be on the third floor. When I got to the third floor, I encountered yet another small and crowded area. I was not greeted on the third floor and had to guess where my size would be. I started looking at the dresses in my size, hoping to find my dream dress. Instead I found that the store had no variety whatsoever and was all over priced (I had seen the same dresses or similar ones at other stores at least $100 cheaper). There were teenagers and even mothers forcing their way through the aisles, forcing me to squeeze closer to the racks. After looking at the racks for 15 minutes, I finally found a dress that I kind of liked for a kind of okay price. I was then greeted by a very rude employee asking me why I had put one of my dresses on an empty rack for a second while I went to answer my phone. She then took my dress and my piece of paper with my information on it and from there, I had no idea where it went. I had told my mom that I wanted to go because of how poor the dress selection was and how the employees did not assist me at all. This store was a waste of my time and I will never be going back. We checked ahead to make sure they had a dress we wanted. We took a trip to the Danvers (3 hours from home) location to try it on to ensure it fit. They couldn't put their hands on the exact dress but we confirmed the size from the designer fit. They told us the designer was no longer making the dress but verified they had one in Danvers and one in the Salem store. We didn't have time to visit another store so we ordered the dress online. We received an email telling us they canceled our order due to the designer no longer making the dress. I emailed asking why they wouldn't send the dress from one of their stores. I didn't hear back so I called the store two days later and left a message. A gentleman did call me back stating they were looking for the dress and would call me back with an update. I called and left another message a day later and never heard back. A week after we placed our order we never received any other correspondence. They have the worst customer service. We don't have any shops like this in our area and I had planned to refer them due to the selection of dresses but they can forget my recommendation, and we will NEVER return. read more
