Absolutely love this salon! My nail tech was super kind and was able to give me exactly what I wanted

This is my second time coming to Gloss. They do a great gel manicure and a relaxing pedicure!

I always had great experiences at Gloss Nail Spa until my most recent visit on 12/27. Unfortunately, after the last visit, I don't plan on returning. I'd booked a gel manicure and pedicure like I usually do, but had a tech that I'd never worked with before. She rushed through the whole service while continuously stopping to answer her cellphone. No scrub, no hot towel, no lotion. Little attention to detail. It was dark and rainy that day, so I didn't notice until I got home that the polish wasn't applied very neatly and the color was uneven. In less than a week, every single nail started peeling or chipping. Honestly, I could've done a better job at home and saved the money. I sent an email to the email address provided on their website to try to ask for a do-over since I was really disappointed. I even mentioned that if a do-over wasn't possible, a discount on my next service would be very appreciated. Unfortunately, it has been two weeks and I haven't heard from anyone at the salon. The really poor quality service that I experienced last time combined with the lack of response from management makes me not want to go back. read more

I took my mother-in-law here as part of a girl's day. The place is very well designed and calming; such beautiful place to relax. Certain elements of the pedicure "experience" were okay/could improve; the leg and foot massage was brief and not very good. Despite this, the polish job was done well and lasted a full two weeks without chipping. I'd gladly go again given the atmosphere and overall quality, especially since the pricing is very reasonable. read more

I couldn't wait to write a review. This is the cleanest, prettiest nail salon I've been to in a while. The ladies here are all super sweet and the owner is very accommodating. Came in for a full set of gel x and a pedicure for me and my mom. My nails came out so beautiful and Natalie did such an amazing job. She was quick and very talented and it's the best set I've gotten in a long time. She did exactly what I wanted and was very gentle. Our pedicures were great too! This was my first time here and I have now found my new nail salon. I drive all the way from Upland too so that shows you how good the service is. read more

I really wish they wouldn't make appointments at 6pm if they were gonna rush through them and not pay attention to detail. I get wanting to leave work.. but maybe don't take GelX appointments an hour before closing if it's going to compromise the quality? I've gotten my nails done here a few times now, theres always been small imperfections that i've chosen to ignore because I always feel awkward bringing it up. This time though, I spent $155 and didn't get the shape I wanted. I asked the nailtech to make the extensions pointier, like the photo reference I showed, she got frustrated and made the left hand pointier (still not what the photo showed) but did the right hand super quick resulting in all the fingers on the left to have a point and the right be round. A few nails vary in length with one side shorter than the other. The shape really bugs me, but the design is beautiful so I'll definitely give her that. They're nice and the place is pretty, but they rush, don't compare length and size finger by finger resulting in varying lengths and sizes. I'll be back just on a weekend when I can go in the morning. read more

Spot on nail art! Customer service can be hit or miss.

I got a pedicure that resulted in a super painful ingrown cuticle on my big toe. It was the day before my wedding and was so uncomfortable in my heels and very distracting. My mom got a manicure and she had three bleeding nails after specifically asking them not to cut her cuticles. She also asked for French and the girl completely ignored her again, and started putting the top coat on. My mom just said forget it. It was very frustrating. As far as I can tell, no massage is included in the service. Wouldn't recommend. read more

MAN oh MAN! Finally a nice clean amazing nail salon close to where I work. I don't always get manicures and pedicures but today I had an hour to kill and felt like a clean up and I stumbled upon this place on accident. Boy was I pleasantly surprised the decor and the atmosphere just scream clean and the chairs massage you. Sign me up! Over all this place is ok. It is cute and clean. Last time I went I got a gel mani and regular pedi. Unfortunately, 2 days later my nails were chipping as if it was regular polish by day 3 they were lifting and peeling off getting stuck on anything and everything until literally the were coming off. I did email and message them but never heard back. I was expecting a gel mani to last at least a week not 2 days. read more

I don't know why I keep coming back here. The manicures and pedicures are reliably low quality and also over priced. The techs are rushed because of how busy the place is. Some of them also give outright painful mani pedis because of how rushed they are. I think folks come back just because the decor is nice. I will be searching for a new place to get my nails done. The nail artists were very friendly and professional. My nails were so beautiful when they were done. I also had my eyebrows waxed and I seriously have never had a better shape on my brows. Best nail shop around! I used to go to the Gloss in Silver Lake for years and was so bummed when I moved further east. How happy I was to discover that they opened one up near me!! I've been a few times since the spring and everyone I've seen has done great work. People are always asking me where I get my nails done so if you're looking for a solid nail shop- nail art, dip manicure, acrylic- this is the spot! Super rushed mani/pedi - I got the natural one where it's supposed to come with 8-10min massage and the whole thing took last than 40min. "Natural" part was a lotion that came in a small sauce cup. I don't recommend this place. read more

This was my first time here and my nails looked nice but the dip chipped off after 1.5 weeks. I've never had it chip before and this place only dipped my nails 2 times, where other places do 3 coats; that could've been the contributor to them chipping. If I do go back I wouldn't do dip. read more

I am new to the area moved here from Austin Tx. and was desperately seeking a nail salon. My coworker mentioned Gloss Nails in Pasadena. My very first experience was horrible. Things that I ordered manicure, pedicure and eyebrow waxing wasn't being applied as the person next to me getting the same thing done. The first few times I think maybe it's the nail tech, but as I would continue to go the treatment kept getting worse. My observation I was being treated differently and wondered why. If I'm a paying customer sometimes ordering deluxe pedicures why was having to return to nail salon for them to redo my pedicure because the person didn't do it properly. I then realized it was happening all the time and to embarrass to mention it to my coworker because she is White and maybe wouldn't understand what I was experiencing at her favorite nail salon. So I stopped going and took my business elsewhere. Until..... yesterday 5-13-22 Friday. Some coworkers were going to meet for an early dinner in Old Town Pasadena and with Gloss Nails being so close to the restaurant I decided to give them another chance. I called made a 3p.m. appointment. With parking and currently in a leg boot due to foot surgery I arrived 3:05 so five minutes late. It's a bit difficult to walk in the boot a long distance as I explained to the receptionist she asked me to sign in which I did. I was the 2nd name on the sign-in sheet. They were busy people were leaving and coming, but as walk-ins (no appointments) were arriving they were being seated taken into the salon area. I was never called to go inside the salon area I was standing in my walking boot for at least 30mins. One receptionist (the Asian one) as there were two receptionist, one Asian and one American. The Asian receptionist left out of the salon to pickup food and returned and I was still there standing. As the American receptionist was going on her lunch break I asked when is it my turn she replied your next. No one ever came to sit me. I left and called and talked to the Asian receptionist and explained I was the black lady standing there for so long and no one ever came to sit me as they were taking all the other customers inside the salon area. She said oh we are busy, I replied yes I know but they're were 2 open seats when I left and she said oh sorry I don't know. I said but you saw me still standing there when you returned with your food and never once talked to me to even ask me had anyone checked on me or anything you just left me standing there. I then proceeded to tell her that it's said that your establishment is Racist against Black People. She then said but you were last on the list and I said No you are lying I was the 2nd name on the list and your establishment have treated me this way many times before but today was obvious why the horrible treatment is that you're Racist against Black People and I will let it be known. My Black community please do not go to Nail Gloss Pasadena as they are Racist. They left me standing with a leg boot on for at least 30mins and never once checked on me and kept sending everyone to get serviced except for me the only Black person in the salon. Do not get your nails done here! Not only do they not respect appointment times and will have you waiting over an hour but their quality of work is mediocre at best. It's so busy because they overbook that the nail ladies rush to get your mani/pedi done. The front desk girls are rude and they are way overpriced. read more

This place is cute but DO NOT let that fool you. I have been here several times, and usually the experience is alright, but today was my last time. My nail technician rushed through the entire process. I got gel extensions and the entire thing took only 25 minutes which is outrageous for $65. It seems like she may have been rushing in order to get to the multiple people who were waiting even tho they had schedule an appointment. Because of the rush, I ended up with nails that are uneven, one hand's length is shorter than the other, and the color is poorly done with the edges smudged and painted unevenly. And to top it off, she was very rough with my hands the entire time due to her apparent rush. I have never written a yelp review before, but walked out feeling so upset with my experience that I felt it needed to be shared. I would recommend finding a shop that puts more care and time into your experience, especially if you are going to be spending the money on nails! You shouldn't have to feel like you have to compromise on quality in order to help the shop get to their waiting customers. read more

I saw that this place was fairly new so thought I'd try it out. I brought my two daughters and had appointments at 4pm but didn't get seated until 4:30pm. I had gels on and Jenny soaked them for removal but it wasn't coming off. So she filed down the gels and filed so hard that it caught some of my skin. Then she used a machine to remove it and thinned out my nails. My manicure was the worst I had ever received, nails were filed unevenly and my skin was raw, bleeding, and painful. My younger daughter had Natalie and she didn't even put a base coat on her nails or give a hand massage. Natalie painted the wrong color on one nail and didn't remove it. She just painted over the wrong color to try to cover it but we could still see it. My older daughter had Melvin and he gave a nice manicure and hand massage. My younger daughter and I were so disappointed in our manicures and I paid full price. Never returning to this place. read more

Made a reservation. Arrived well in time and I had to wait one hour. After 30 mins waiting no one was really taking care of me so I asked how long was the wait. The receptionist went to talk to the other employee and she came back saying that one of them was almost ready. I said ok and from that moment the receptionist avoid staying at the entrance,rather started to talk with clients. It seemed to me that she was avoiding me. My first time visiting this salon, and absolutely loved it. They make you feel safe during covid times, you're required to wear masks, they take your temperature as soon as you arrive and all the tools are sanitized and cleaned and sealed for each use. They have plastic dividers between you and the girls doing your toes. They wipe down everything before you sit down and make sure everyone washed their hands before picking colors. All the ladies are so sweet, I had Ann (pedicure) and Tanya (manicure) and loved them both! The salon is super chic and cute and super clean. Highly recommend! read more
