I wanted to find a place near where I live to do my acrylics. I found this nail place and it was new so I thought it would have been a great place. The first time I went in, I had to wait about 20 minutes because there were only two ladies. The owner, Liz, and another lady. Once I started getting my nails done, she was rushing and every time someone came in for a wax, she would stop what she was doing to me and went to help them. I waited about 30 min sitting in a chair halfway through getting my nails. Once she was buffing my nails, she kept looking at her phone and her yelp reviews. It was very unprofessional because if you are doing someone's nails, you put all your attention on customer service. One month later, I decided to come back and this time, some other lady helped me. It was a different woman. I got a nude color with a matte finish and every time she put on a coat of polish, she would rush and would not let the nail dry. The picture below is an air bubble that I popped and wet nail polish came out! The inside of the nail was not completely dried. Idk if she didn't see it nor she didn't want to fix it. The painting wasn't done good. She told me to wait about 15 to 20 so my nail can dry. I got done about 2:38 got basically kick out at 245 after putting oil and clean some of the polish on my fingers. My polish was still wet. And got ruining while driving home. Hmm... I don't write reviews often, but when I do that means THERE IS A REASON TO THAT. DO NOT COME to this nail salon. The price for the full set of acrylics is $37 on their menu (that's what I saw when I was choosing my pedicure options from their menu). When I called in and asked about the price before coming the lady said it would be $47. Already the first a little shady sign. Anyways, $47 worked for me too so I asked for ombré acrylics with the simple (really, a couple of rhinestones and a sticker) design on two nails. I showed the picture to the girl who was going to do my nails and she said that she could do it. Apparently, she neither could do ombré nor she could do the design. I did the pedicure too which cost $29. After I was done they told me the full price was $129. Excuse me? Huh?? Apparently $47 somehow turned into $100 for my acrylics. I asked the lady to explain and she said that the design was complicated and they charged additionally for the ombré, coffin shape, and for the length. I didn't know that ombre which was DEFINITELY NOT an ombré but rather plain white nails with six rhinestones in total would cost me around $50 EXTRA. The manicurist could not do the ombré, the design I requested, and the nails turned out to be extremely uneven on the surface. So I paid $100 for white plain nails and a couple of rhinestones. :( I'm addition, I called them in advance before coming and when I came there (right after their called me back) I waited for HALF AN HOUR before they actually sat me down. I decided to check out this new nail salon to see for myself as the reviews were mixed. The place is nice. Very clean, good atmosphere and good selection of colors. My pedicure was very relaxing and I would say an overall 4. My only complaint would be that for $40, the final product should be flawless. I have polish on my skin that was not removed and left on my toes. As for my $45 powder dip, I would give that a 3. My opinion is that for $45, the final product should also be flawless or you shouldn't have an inexperienced person doing this service. The ladies were very courteous, don't get me wrong, but my nails had clumps of product that she tried to clean up afterwards and I still had some left over. I also ended up with a crooked nail that is peeling due to the attempt to clean up the product. wow! 5 stars to glossi nail bar! I was able to be serviced and helped by Liz! she was doing 2 clients at once but never did I feel like I was being neglected or forgotten about! She put so much detail and thought to my nails! The ladies working there are so nice and genuine although there's only few it makes for a good atmosphere because it isn't over crowded and cramped! The store recently opened but I hope they stay open! This will be my new nail salon from now on! I have gotten the best results here!!! This is my second time to Glossi nail bar because it's close to where I live and I can't travel too far to SF Richmond for my usual nail place because I am a preggo now. My first visit was pleasant as the nail beautician took care of my dip powder nail nicely and had the color I wanted. But this time when I asked for my color for Pedi they couldn't find the color for me and persuaded me to try another color that wasn't on the swatches. I am a very picky person for the exact color and since it wasn't on the swatches I couldn't imagine what it would look like on my toes. I was planning to do a regular mani and the staff persuaded me to do gel nail as it would last longer. But hey, my gel nail got chipped after 2 days. I can see why people say customer service is horrible. This has actually been my worst set. Upon comments from my nail tech cousins they did a bad job. Liz did my eyebrows and full set gel and I AM VERY HAPPY with the outcome. I also need to mention that I appreciate Liz's honesty. The phones were always ringing. Alot of walk ins and she did not hesitate to let people know that there was only 3 technicians and appointments were recommended. I was pretty excited that Glossi Nail Bar opened in Colma. My friend and I decided to try this out for a pedi/mani because they were offering a 20% discount. We got there around 6pm and we were told that the wait time would be 15 mins. I ended up waiting for 30 mins and one of the ladies had sat me down on their massaging chairs while I got prepped for a pedicure which turned out okay. There was leftover nail polish on the side of my toes. My friend ended up waiting for an hour just to get her gel manicure. There were 3 other people getting their mani/pedis but an hour was too much. The lady who did my gel manicure was sweet but the work was sloppy. The edges were not clean. She had trimmed my nails but did not clean my cuticles and it just looked awful. The next day I noticed in daylight and saw brush strokes on my gel manicure. My gel polish started chipping! I couldn't believe it. I've never had this issue before and I've had a gel mani from numerous places in the past. It wasn't worth the trip to go back and wait for another 1-2 hours to get these chipped nails fixed. My friend and I left around 8:15pm which was later than we expected since we got there at 6pm. The only thing I liked was that this place is really clean and well decorated and the older nail technicians were really sweet. Maybe it'll pick up once they hire new staff but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. Came as a walk-in before COVID was implemented and they gladly took me in. They were very cautious as COVID was starting to become more serious. They were all masked and did heavy safety measure before COVID instructions were in place. As soon as I walked in, they told me to wash my hands before sitting with an employee for service. In the circumstances, I was very comfortable and was pleased with the service. I do have to say this place is pricey but for my recent experience still pleased with outcome of service. My acrylic nails were beautiful and lasted for several weeks pasted the amount predicted. I was although very disappointed with my pedicure. I asked for a white gel pedicure and after several days there was discoloration on the polish.
