My roommate and I live near this place and were excited to see a restaurant open in this old building. We ordered the tteokbokki and og kimbap and they were both excellent. I drive up and down this street every day and have been waiting for Gogoma to open. I finally got the chance to dine in and I honestly have only great things to say. The service was amazing, super friendly, and welcoming but most of all the food was absolutely delicious. I've been to a lot of places like this (분식) and I have to say this is easily one of my favorites. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. It's was refreshing to have a fresh kimbap as the ones I'm used to are always premade. I'm really happy this place is so close by because I'll definitely be coming here a lot. The curry was tasty & the chicken was done well. The spam kimbap was decently good, had wanted to try the spicy fishcake but it was sold out. We got the ttokboke & it was really good, it does have a kick as you eat so get a drink super close to csuf & we enjoyed our meal while waiting for our kid's practice. Pleasantly surprised by the food at this Korean snack shop! it's a cute, spacious, boonshik restaurant for all the typical quick bites. My favorites were the original gimbap and curry katsu. Friendly staff, clean interior, and a little section of Korean snacks that has better pricing than Hmart! We weren't too hungry and had left over gimbap and it didn't spoil the next day so u know it was made fresh! Reheated the gimbap with egg and some truff hot sauce and it was soo good! Had a serious kimbap craving on a road trip and was so happy to stumble upon GOGOMA. Even though the kimbap is pre-made, it's absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful ingredients and really well executed. The service was incredibly friendly and impressively fast. They're located in a converted old Taco Bell, which is surprisingly cute, and they have a lovely patio for outdoor seating. Would absolutely go back! read more

Cashier greeted me with a smile and asked if it was my first time. I appreciated her friendly demeanor. She asked me to look at the menu and to feel free to ask her questions. I ordered the OG kimbap, spam kimbap, and Korean Caesar salad with anchovies and a side of chicken katsu to go. Food came out fairly quickly. Spam kimbap was so pretty with the checkered design. It just had egg, spam, and rice. The egg texture was weird to us. But maybe others are used to this style of egg, but we don't prefer it. The egg was super creamy and soft so maybe dairy was added to make it that way(??). We enjoyed the OG kimbap overall, which was presented really nicely, but it also had the egg with the super soft texture in it. I'm glad I tried the Caesar salad, but I don't think I'll order it again. It's a preference thing, but the dressing was a tad too much for me. Maybe it would have gone well with rice because of the savory anchovies and nori. I like the self serve water, barley tea, and anchovy broth station. That's a really hospitable gesture. The restaurant has 6 tables total and I saw a big group leaving when I came in, so it's easy to move the tables around to accommodate a larger group. They also have some little snacks and drinks to purchase on the side. I'm looking forward to when they expand their menu and offer catering. I would return to try other items. read more

The dumplings were perfectly fried and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kimchi was fresh and had the perfect amount of spice. The chicken katsu was cooked perfectly. It was crisp and on a bed of fluffy white rice with caramelized onions. It came with pickled daikon that gave a freshness to the dish and I appreciated how the spicy curry sauce was served on the side since I ordered it to go. Spice level was great! I honestly could have done spicier, but it gives it a nice kick with great flavor. If I lived closer I would come here all the time. read more

Gogoma is such a pleasant addition to the community. As an indecisive person, I appreciate the simplicity of their menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the Crispy Bowl and the Korean Cesar. The chicken katsu was tender and juicy on the inside and just the right amount of crispy on the outside. As for the Korean Cesar, it's my favorite salad! I can't describe it in a way that'll do it justice. Just try it. I spoke to the owner and it sounds like they're opening a convenience shop inside the restaurant in the near future. We are local and got excited when we saw a new Korean restaurant in the area. Waited months for Gogoma to open and the food didn't not disappoint. We have been back for a few times since their soft opening. It's great for takeout and quick bites. The portions are generous with reasonable pricing. Taste is on point and freshly made to order. We love all the gimbap flavors. Very thin layer of rice and a variety of fillings, just how we like it. The bibimbap bowl and katsu chicken are great as well, even better than most popular Korean restaurants. Please keep up the good work since most restaurants have poor food quality after they are in business for awhile. We hope more people will enjoy the food at Gogoma as much as we do. Flavor is great! Not many offerings, but the 4 we tried had distinct flavor, so it's really enjoyable. It offers ice water and hot fish broth to go with the meals - the subtle flavor of the broth is just right to counter the spicy condiments for the bowls. This place is finally open for business! After countless weeks of driving past, a few days ago we saw something which looked like people working inside. Time for a visit, try the grub. Admittedly, this was our "plan B". Now that the weather is more soup-friendly we actually made another local mom & pop place (let the reader understand) our "plan A," but they were closed, so we came here. This is exactly the kind of place we like to support: locally owned and operated. And one we have waited expectantly for over a long span of many weeks. We were very encouraged to see what appeared to be a couple of ajumonis (아주머니들-- plural of ajumma) working in the kitchen, and we ordered this and that. A coupla bowls, some gimbap, etc. Food was good. The bowls, basically California fusion bibimbap, well-executed and tasty. The side of curry to go with the crispy bowl was a great addition. The gimbap was tasty but should have been rolled more tightly. It was a challenge to eat with chopsticks. Will we return? I would say yes, but maybe after giving them some time to tweak things, figure out what seems good to them, and so on. I would encourage they consider adding some diced well-aged and sour kimchi to the spicy pork bowl. These days everyone loves kimchi. Seeing the "early taco bell" architecture live on as a Korean fusion cuisine place is great. Brilliant location as well, considering the other Korean business they share a parking lot with.
