My son turned six this week, and when asked where he wanted to go for dinner, he said Gohan (because he's a big fan of the robots). I'm not a huge fan of the place, but my mom took us all out for a movie and dinner. When we got there, we told them it was his birthday three days ago, and they said happy birthday and then asked for proof. I said, 'No, what do you need?' and the lady said we needed to see a copy of his birth certificate or passport. I'm sorry, but I don't carry around birth certificates or passports. I completely understand that people lie about their birthdays for a free meal, but this is a six-year-old kid who will only eat two slices of pizza. So, for anyone who wants to celebrate a birthday at Gohan, make sure you bring your proof. We definitely won't be back. read more

We were hungry and we new where to come! 25.99 for all you can eat of so many choices! The baked oysters are huge, and really tasty. Crab legs, shrimp, sushi and even sashimi, many different Chinese foods, salad bar. Mongolian style grill. Beverages included. The desserts really are what they need to work on still!! So not great. We searched for an AYCE after the morning's disappointment with GWL's breakfast. Gohan has so much variety and everything was constantly fresh. Staff were constantly working to ensure food was prepared, refilled, and that tables were cleared and cleaned. Some places go heavy on sauce or have a greasy oily taste in their fried foods--not here! They fried to perfection. If you're looking for mediocre tasting food, this is the place for you. I don't know how you screw up cheese pizza, but this place figured it out. The coconut shrimp is basically walnut shrimp without the walnuts. Chicken broccoli, black pepper beef, coconut shrimp, and fried chicken was just ok. Kids agreed the orange chicken was lacking, Mac & cheese was dry, and the noodles tasted bleh. The only thing they agreed was good was the garlic bread. $180.xx (including a $20 tip) for 6 of us. Totally not worth it, but it was our first time here just to try it out. The one positive thing I can say about this place (thus the 2 stars) is that their staff is great. Third time and I guess I'm slow because I'm realizing its not that great. Plus it seems like some items are going down hill. Firstly since I don't do the expensive crab legs meals I like to the cooked shrimp but everytime after the first visit the shrimp is chalky tasting - so bad that the cocktail sauce can't mask the nasty flavor. As usual (normally get there within the first hour of service) much of the food is dry and over cooked as if its just left overs from the day before. Susi is not labeled so you have no idea of what is in it so its really hit or miss. This last time - all misses. Two serving areas of fried non- oriental choices. "Chicken nuggets" tasted like fake battered scallops. Also be aware that they automatically add *% or more to the bill as a "tip" really. We serve ourself, get our own drinks. This is my go to place oysters! If your a crawfish lover like me then you will not get disappointed. They have cajun flavor, spicy and sweet fish sauce. I was in a time crunch, so I quickly opened Yelp and saw this place had 4 stars and decided to give it a shot. HUGE MISTAKE! I should have taken more time to carefully read the negative Yelp reviews because they are very true. I suggest you fully read this review for the sake of your stomach, time, and wallet's life. The food is absolutely disgusting!! Four people costed around $112. Insane price for generic and disgusting food that is not even worth 3/4 of the price they charge. The chow mein was extremely mushy and lacked flavor just like the rest of the food. I had to drown the chow mein in soy sauce to make it more edible to me. Don't even get me started on the orange chicken. It was absolutely atrocious and I couldn't even swallow a bite of it and ended up spitting it out in a napkin. This place does not know how to properly season food as mostly everything I tried was insanely bland and the food itself is very low quality. Once I saw that they had fried frog legs as one of their options, I completely lost my appetite. The entire restaurant has a nasty and fishy odor. I was so disgusted by this and their bland gross food that I ended up skipping the actual foods and went directly to eating fruits and dessert which were also surprisingly very mediocre and low quality. The only impressive thing about this place is that they have a little AI robot machine continuously going around the restaurant with bowls of fortune cookies people can grab from. I would say this technology is their only redeeming quality but there is no point in having innovation if your food completely sucks and is a HUGE disappointment. Quite frankly, they should sell that machine and use the money to hire better chefs who can actually cook and season food properly or invest in better quality food. The fortune cookies and fountain drinks also sucked. How is that even possible??!! The food was terrible, got food posioning. Came for my birthday and was expecting my experience to be good. First off, it is not optional to tip, nothing wrong with tipping yet forcing a 8% tip is too much. The cashier was pretty unfriendly as well. DO NOT EAT THE SEAFOOD!!! Firstly, the decor is awful-- everything is grey and dull. The designated lobby area is far too small and poorly designed, leaving everyone packed like a can of sardines upon arrival. They add something to their white rice either oil or butter, giving it a strange greenish/yellow tint and whatever they added to it didn't even give it flavor. Their sushi contains the fake salmon and who knows what else. It was unappetizing. Cups were filthy. And the dessert was SCATTERED to where you have to go on a scavenger hunt to find your options. With a total of 3 options for dessert --an espresso square, fried dough, and chocolate, orange, strawberry, or vanilla cups of ice cream. Cheap, garbage options for $25 a person. As far as food selection goes, there is fried rice (with mushrooms...), chow mein, fried fish, more fried fish, more fake fish, stale macaroni and cheese, and 99c store pizza. So I wanted to try this place out. Yelp reviews have this place at 4 stars. This place has to be good right? First impressions, this place was clean. The food selection for lunch time was plentiful. Now some items that were decent. The chicken skewers but without the wooden skewers were pretty good. That was probably my favorite. I'm trying to remember what else was decent. I can't even remember. Now their sushi. Not good at all. Mushy, and the cucumbers were literally transparent. The only time cucumbers are transparent is when they are cut and left inside a refrigerator for a period of time. That tells me some of their rolls are premade and placed in the refrigerator to keep up the stock of sushi. Some sushi fish was really firm and not soft. I don't understand the four star rating. The important thing is the food. Their sushi shows good preparation and style, more Japanese sized, with balance and good quality. Other food highlights are their spicy fried chicken (reminds me of a major chain), cajun shrimp boil, Dungeness crab legs, cajun crawfish, one hot table full of Chinese food as well as buffet offering of pasta and simple pizza. The food options are great, with the standard Asian buffet options, a Hibachi grill, sushi, salad, and dessert. The food is pretty good and we enjoyed it...I read some of the bad reviews and pretty funny these bad reviews expect Michelin star food from an a.y.c.e. buffet. It's a buffet, it's not Gordon Ramsey...the food is still good though so give them a try. The place is neat and clean. I just really hope they're here to stay. We frequent this place often. The food isnt the best but it is one of the only chinese food buffets that we know of. Our son turned 5 this week and he wanted to go there fo dinner. We were met with attitude about needing to see his birth certificate for his birthdate. We had the two paying adults and our son doesnt eat more than a peice of pizza and some water melon. They straight asked my son for ID ..hes 5.... I wont be showing my sons birth certificate for him to eat free where they over charge for what their food is really worth anyway. We went to applebees instead where he was treated to ice cream. We will never step foot in this establishment again. read more

They measure by weight/by the pound by either 1) non-seafood, 2)mix of seafood and non, and 3) seafood-- for the pricing tiers for takeout. If I could give this restaurant a higher rating I WOULD BREAK THE BAR!! Gohan has exceeded my expectations of a buffet and as a general public area. Extremely clean, bathrooms are stylish and sanitary! Tables are clean, every plate and piece of silverware I used was clean and without water marks! Service was prompt and polite and any questions we had were answered clearly and in full. Staff does an amazing job with food prep and presentation. I want to try everything but alas, my stomach is only so big! Prices are great considering the wide array of dishes and flavors. The robot waiter is very cool as well! Minds his own business and can detect costumers. My sister and I are literally never telling our family how good this place is so we never have to bring them with! Just kidding, I am telling everyone about this place. I was excited when they started building and now I am even more excited to come back as a first timers. Everything was amazing, so many different flavors and spice levels. The Cajun spice is not over powering, I can taste what I am eating. Kimchi was so flavorful and very well marinated! I'm literally sitting on the toilet with diarrhea typing this review on my phone. Came here for dinner around 4pm. Diarrhea culprit #1 crab legs At most buffets, the crab legs are usually in demand. No one around the legs today and i may know why. I tried cracking with the tool, but the legs only bent (videos uploaded with captions "rubber crab"). I tore a piece of meat out and it didnt taste right. I've never had stale crab before, but i think that's the best way to describe these. I didn't want to eat the legs anymore, and i couldn't open them anyway, so 5 legs went to the garbage. I think i did later patrons a favor here. Hopefully they replenish with a fresh(er) batch. Diarrhea culprit #2 sushi/sashimi sushi tasted like it was sitting for several hours. The tempura parts were chewy. I'm accustomed to eating low grade sushi, like from the deli at supermarkets, but the sushi today was worse than the worst supermarket sushi i can recall. They also served salmon sashimi bits. I'm a sucker for salmon sashimi. It didn't taste great, but it wasn't bad. I found pieces of scale, then i found a black string-like piece. I didn't inspect too closely, but i hope it was a blood vessel and not a worm. I stopped eating the sashimi after that. (if anyone is still reading, and is curious, i'm off the toilet for now. it's been cleaned) Diarrhea culprit #3 oysters there were only about 6 oysters when we arrived. i took 3 that looked most intact. the oysters didn't taste weird, but they were rubbery, i assume from the baking. i don't know how long they were sitting there, but i suspect very long. the staff did not make the oysters a high priority. we stayed for about an hour and it was never replenished. so it's likely the oysters sat around for hours. they tended to the awful pizza (note: i'm judging by looks. i didnt actually try the pizza) 3 times during our dinner. i undertand why they would want patrons to eat the pizza and not the seafood for cost reasons, but they could at least make it look palatable. non-diarrhea related, we had to pay $13 for our 2-year old. she probably ate about $1 of food, if that. i don't think we'll ever return to gohan. i don't like buffets anyway, but my MIL does. even she thought the food was bad today. i hope our experience today resonates with her and she never asks to go back.
