We had a really great experience here at Golden Corral. What started off as a negative experience quickly turned into an extremely positive one because of the outstanding customer service from Frank. At first, we didn't even know Frank was the general manager. He was out on the floor collecting plates while my wife and I were sitting at a booth. He noticed I hadn't eaten my enchilada and kindly asked, "What was wrong with the plate? How can we improve? What didn't you like about it?" That immediately showed me he genuinely cared. I explained that the enchilada just wasn't to my taste and felt dry, like it needed more sauce. I also mentioned that the sauce on the grilled chicken didn't sit well with me personally. Instead of getting defensive, Frank listened carefully and responded professionally. He thanked me for my honesty and said he appreciated the feedback because they are always looking for ways to improve and make the customer experience better. I also told him that one of the best things Golden Corral has is the steak and chicken bar, and that's one of the main reasons we came there. Again, he listened and acknowledged everything respectfully. I then mentioned that it would be great if they offered Menudo. Frank immediately replied, "We have Menudo, and this is what we can do for you." Not only did he make it happen, but he personally went the extra mile for both me and my wife. That level of customer service is rare nowadays. That's when Frank introduced himself as the general manager, and honestly, it made complete sense. You can clearly see he cares about his job, his customers, and the success of the business. Golden Corral needs more managers like Frank. Frank understands something important that many businesses overlook: if customers are leaving food unfinished on their plates, there's usually a reason behind it. Instead of ignoring the problem, he acknowledged it and looked for ways to improve. That mindset not only creates loyal customers, but it also helps reduce waste and saves the company money in the long run. My wife and I truly appreciated the professionalism, care, and effort Frank showed us. Because of him, we will absolutely continue coming back. Thank you again, Frank. I'm NOTTTTTTT at all a fan of buffets. Buffets scream lower quality tasting food, usually poorer service, and usually overworked employees. I have never been to Golden Corral and it was selected by my boyfriend who loves GC for quantity reasons. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Sherrie was our server. Sherrie walks around with a huge friendly smile, is quick to offer extra likes cinnamon flavoring for coffee, check if we needed anything we couldn't locate, and pick up and bus all the tables. We felt beyond welcomed and it was a homey feeling, like we were at a friend's house! I am a huge fan of menudo. I decided to try the menudo was actually shocked. Don't get me wrong it isn't completely like an abuelita was in the kitchen making it, however it was edible. It had a clean smell and not a barnyard smell. This is an accomplishment that surpasses most "authentic" Mexican restaurant, and I experienced it at a buffet. The only thing missing for me was tortillas and fresh cilantro and onion.. Butttt we don't complain over here .. so I'd rather not have cilantro and onion over tasting cow ass.. I walked over to check out desserts and happened to catch Alicia F doing temperature checks. This alone would have sent me over the roof happy. Food quality and cleanliness coupled with customer service bring me back to places that have mediocre food time and time again! It is not my favorite buffet, but the service was good, the food was what I expected and we were full when we left. They fit the bill but it was extremely crowded, a lot of the food was precooked, packaged and fried as needed. It was hard to get to the drink station because of the number of kids. I had mashed potatoes and gravy, pot roast, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. All were delicious. The variety of food made it hard to pick, I knew I would be full. Where hungry people come... My first time here. $15.99 for senior citizens (not bad). My husband comes here all the time and wanted me to check it out. We came for breakfast at 8:45am Sunday morning and everything was freshly made and there were only 3 other tables occupied when we got here. It was very nice, very clean with a great huge selection of food to enjoy including omelets made to order, desserts and drinks, and I really enjoyed the salad bar too. Service was prompt and friendly (always coming by to check on us and take our empty plates away). It's now 9am as I write this review and it's starting to get packed. A friend wanted to go for her free birthday meal. We had done this in the past, and not had a problem. However, today the cashier was insistent that I pay full price, not the senior discount price as I had previously, since we were getting a buy one, get one free. This just didn't sound right to me. Breakfast and lunch switch over is at 11am. Lunch and dinner switch over is at 4pm. Heads up, they stop cooking 30 min before closing. So plan ahead. FRIED CHICKEN : I heard that the chicken here was the best on the menu. Unfortunately, I disagree with that because the chicken is flavorless. It reminds me of school chicken wings. It's very basic/mediocre. There's barely any seasoning. The batter is very thin and a little off which doesn't go well with the chicken. I had it when it's fresh and hot. I just don't think this chicken is for me. RATE : 1/5 SCRAMBLED EGGS : I kid you not! This was actually one of the best dish on their menu! Went here during dinner on a weekday. Parking was good and there was no line at the register. Dinner was about $23 and I just got a water cup. They have a host that will ask how many in your group then you walk you over to your table. The establishment is clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful. I heard that the fried chicken was good here so that was the first thing I looked for and I had to wait a couple minutes for a new batch because everyone got them haha. Then I got some chicken pozole and steak. You can ask how you want your steak cooked but I just asked for whatever they had ready. I had to wait for the chicken to cool because it was freshly cooked. The chicken skin was tasty and the chicken meat was good also. My steak looked like it was cooked medium which is how I liked it and the pozole was good also. The okra and the potato wedges were eh because they were just warm and a little hard.. I feel like it would've tasted better if the heat temp was higher maybe? Out of the desserts, I really liked the carrot cake and ice cream. I'm not gonna make this one too clever or interesting. The breakfast was fantastic! My only regret is that I'd forgotten my latex glove! The selection and quality was quite good... a couple things were too salty, but there were so many other options that were just great. The corn beef hash was delicious and that's kind of what I had my heart set on anyway.... The table service was excellent. It's been many years since I went to an American buffet like this. I decided to bite the bullet and head over solo. There were a ton of options, and most did not disappoint. Nothing bad stands out in memory. The steak wasn't the best I've ever had, but that's not really a bad thing. I mean you're at a buffet... And most oddly to me, my most memorable dish here was the mashed potatoes?? How are they so good? I kid you not, I have googled "Golden Corral mashed potatoes" since eating here - unsuccessfully. I swear they must break up chicken skin to put in or something. I salivate every time I think of those potatoes. The staff is all super friendly and helpful. The drink options are interesting and fun. The dessert is not a sad compromise like every Chinese or Japanese buffet I've ever been to. And... I can't think of a single complaint. Made a catering order for thanksgiving and wow the prices are amazing. I've never had this buffet before. I made the order online which was super simple. Ordered the roast pork and turkey dinner. Each dinner comes with a half tray of mash potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, a whole dessert I'm talking about whole pumpkin pie and a whole carrot cake. Those were my choices I selected. Another half tray of stuffing with cranberry sauce and your choice which I chose Mac and cheese. I came in to pick up and the place is clean and nice. I didn't get to walk around but picking up was a breeze, I had like 5 large bags which they helped take to the car. Food was good! I did have to tweak the gravy a little with my own seasoning. Also Mac and cheese was basic but still did the job! Stuffing was too mushy not much people touched that. Overall the roast pork was tender and seasoned really good, little bit salty but that's just from all the dry rub. It was like a steak. The turkey was cooked well and still kept juicy and moist. I gave every from convenience, pricing and food taste a 7.5/10! They really came through. Plenty of food too! Only thing I would change is if we can pick all sides. I went here with a friend on Black Friday recently around 7pm and there was a long wait. It was about a 20 minute wait in line to reach the counter. Once we were seated, they advised us to have at least one of us at the table the entire time so that the workers won't get confused and think we left. When I walked through the buffet and looked at the options, I felt like the variety could be better. This is an American food buffet which has options like pizza, pasta, enchiladas, fried chicken, steak, icecream, and cake. All the food was good, BUT it was all cold which I wasn't a huge fan of. I'd recommend this place if you're ok with eating cold or lukewarm food. It's also a good place if you love fast food style items. I'd say my favorite item I got was the enchilada and the steak that day since those were still lukewarm. I also think it's cool how you can watch the chefs cook the steak too. read more

Went here for lunch on opening day, which was a mistake. It was busy, and they couldn't keep up. The line for the fried chicken never went down, and they were still transitioning from breakfast to lunch. What I did try was very good, and the salad bar was nice. I was ready for lunch, I have to say I took little portions of the offerings and didn't get seconds of anything. The fried okra was the size of peas, and I really wasn't impressed with any of the other selections. I wish I had stuck to desserts. I had apple cobbler with ice cream and carrot cake. Those were to my liking and I would have had some of the other dessert options if I hadn't had time limitations. The place got more crowded as lunch patrons poured in. Came here on a Saturday morning with my brother right before the transition from breakfast to lunch. We waited in line for about 10-15 minutes and then about 5-10 minutes after paying to be seated. The seating area is an okay size, but the wait to get your food wasn't. If you're in the "main" line, it'll take about 5-10 minutes to get your food. Especially if people don't know how to wait off to the side if they're waiting for something specific so the line can continue moving. The transition from breakfast to lunch was chaotic. The food area was semi clean and they had music playing, but you couldn't really hear it with all the people traffic. Food choices were a minimum and a little disappointing. I felt they could've had more "fresh" options versus most food coming out of a can (i.e. green beans, corn, carrots, etc.) We didn't have much interactions with the staff at all, but that wasn't a bad or good thing. Although, they did take long to come clear our used plates. Overall, I will not be coming back unless there's an upgrade on food choices or if the birthday person (a child) is choosing to come here to celebrate. read more

I was soooo excited when Golden Corral opened up in Fresno! I follow a few food YouTubers who talked highly of this buffet. I went on a Thursday night and was shocked at how affordable the prize was for dinner. I believe it was only 22.99$ for dinner which I think is pretty affordable compared to other buffets around town. We were seated quickly and the staff were super friendly. Our server greeted us and asked us for refills and cleaned up our dishes promptly. He also checked in with us throughout the night and asked us how the food was. I appreciated the care and attentiveness. I was also surprised to see there was a dedicated staff member in the ladies restroom cleaning up every stall after it was used. Now on to the food. Most of the food was average however there was nothing (except for one thing) that was gross/disgusting tasting. The best food there IMO is the fried chicken, beef brisket, hush puppy, and cornbread. Other honorable mentions include the mash potatoes, clam chowder, and baked potatoes with all the toppings! The area that needs improvements are the desserts. The only thing I truly enjoyed were the chocolate chip cookies. The carrot cake was really bad, tinkering on disgusting. It had not flavor and had the texture of a dry chewy sponge. The service was super friendly and helpful, the place was being kept up by the servers, constantly tending to the tables and removing unwanted plates. We went for late lunch at 3pm but waiting in line took up 30 minutes so that allowed us to sample the dinner menu. I wasn't really impressed with the difference in itrms, they had a grilling station serving up tough overcooked steaks and replaced a few side dishes, that's about it. You have to understand where you're at to give this a proper rating. This is no fine dining establishment. You prepay before you sit, and no it's an all you can eat spot. The price of admission is worth it in my opinion. They are not charging Las Vegas prices so you should t expect Las Vegas quality Buffett. Lots of the items here are decent, but I believe they are popular for their fried chicken.
