I came her in Fresno because my cousins mother passed away. We came after her funeral when she was buried. It was really depressing. Exterior was like looking at a hobby lobby, you heard that correct, it was huge. When entering, you get a massive dining hall with a large buffet in the way back with plenty of seats all around. Price per person was about $17 or so. The food quality was kind of average to me. Chinese food like orange chicken, mushroom roots, steam buns, cakes, ice cream pastries but just nothing compared to Las Vegas bacchanal buffet in comparison. The food was delicious, I enjoyed eating the teppanyaki noodles the most. The desserts were not great. A station where you can have ramen noodles was actually not bad. I enjoyed it. Overall, the atmosphere and the teppanyaki was my favorite. The other food was kind of low, the sushi for example had imitation crab, nothing really fresh. But it is an upgrade to most buffets I've been to. Service was great, the servers cleaned up played quickly so people can go up for more food. It is a place I would definitely try if you like teppanyaki or Mongolian grill places especially at the price point per person.

I will say for the price golden harbor buffet does offer an excellent amount of options that are appetizing. I did enjoy all the food we ate. The service however was poor to almost awful, our waitress never came to our table until we went to the front to ask her for beer refills. The environment in the restaurant didn't feel very welcoming either. I do understand that at buffets it can get hot but when I am sweating due to the heat in the place there is a problem. For the price and the food it is definitely worth a go but don't expect a great service or environment.

Review #835 2025-006 I've never been to Golden Harbor Buffet whenever I've visited my relatives in Fresno, except for 2 occasions in sadness (post-funeral receptions). Opened pre-COVID-19 5 years ago, GHB serves Chinese, American, Mexican foods with Japanese sushi. The restaurant is located on the west end of West Acres Shopping Center. The dining room is deceptive in size, hiding several private dining spaces, including the large room (seats 150?) that held my beloved Aunt's reception. I selected mostly Chinese dishes. I loved the Chinese Broccoli & filled 1/2 my plate with it along with Steamed Bass (last portion was slightly rubbery), Ho Fun (noodles were overcooked so they're broken), Braised Beef (last portion was a little dry) that I topped with some Chili Oil without dripping onto the Custard Bun (tasty bite of creamy custard) with a 2nd plate of specialty rolls, tuna & salmon nigiris, tamago sushi (fresh Sushi Boy-quality sushi), & bowl of Hot & Sour Soup (yummy but mild "hot" heat). Reusing my sushi plate, I went back for a 2nd round, adding fruits: Honeydew & Pineapple, Mango Pudding & Strawberry Jello, & bowl of Tapioca (mild, watery concoction with clumpy mini tapioca pearls; should be creamy & milky with vanilla/pandan, coconut taste). I washed down my lunch with a well-made Arnold Palmer. 2 stations I didn't try was the Pho/Ramen & Taco. Buffet prices are really affordable for the quantity & quality of food choices! I didn't expect 1 YOs to be charged (how much can they really eat); another posted prices pic 5 years ago & they remained the same -- wowza! Though I'm unsure of the actual price since my cousins took care of the bill. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We had 1 amazing server handling drinks order & clean-up for most of our lunch; for the turnaround, she was pretty efficient! If the website's prices are accurate, I can imagine Golden Harbor Buffet having parking issues on the weekends. I believe some of the entrees, sides, & desserts (there used to be a chocolate fountain) rotate, I would recommend trying this buffet if you're in the area, & suggest selecting hot foods that are freshly plated or mostly new, not less than half empty ones (been sitting awhile). Buffet Prices (January 2025): Lunch: Regular: $12.99, Senior: $11.99, Child: $2.99 (1 YO) , $4.99 (2-3), $8.99 (4-7), $10.99 (8-10) Dinner: Regular: $16.99, Senior: $15.99, Child: $3.99 (1 YO) , $5.99 (2-3), $10.99 (4-7), $12.99 (8-10) Weekends: $17.99 Drinks (soda, hot tea, coffee): 99¢ Dim Sum: Sponge Cake, Sticky Rice, Shiu Mai, Chicken Feet, Beef Louver, Honeycomb Tripe; Buns: Peach (actually looks like one), Taro, Custard, Twisted Roll Entrees & Sides: Fried Crab, Steamed Chicken & Bass, Braised Beef, Orange Chicken, Stir-Fried Chinese Cauliflower, Green Beans, Ho Fun, Chow Mein, Calamari, Potato Skins, Fries Soups: Shrimp with Vegetables, Hot & Sour, Seafood, Miso Fruits: Honeydew, Mango, Pineapple, Orange, Lemon, Banana Desserts: Puddings: Honeydew, Strawberry, Mango; Strawberry Jello; Ice Cream: Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Rainbow Sherbet; Ice Cream Crepe + Cotton Candy station; Rainbow Rice Crispy & Raisin Crisp Treats; Chocolate Cake; Tiramisu; Vanilla Roll; Tapioca; Egg Tarts; Sesame Balls; Fried Donuts

Mongolian Stir Fried noodles from their stir fry section, made fresh by choosing selections of meats and vegetables.

If your in the mood for buffet and not sure what to eat this buffet has alot of variety of food to choose from. I ate my money's worth of food since we hardly eat at a buffet. Left the buffet with a full belly.

Best all you can eat buffet in Fresno. Service here is good , I recommend getting water if it's busy because it will hard to get a refill. But food is really good quality food the cost of the buffet. Ambiance is like any other buffet lots of families and couples.

I'm giving you a four because of Sebastian and his great customer service. We did also speak to the chef on duty to give some feedback on how our experience was. Now to the honest criticism I've been here a few times and each time had some issues. This time around my dad says let's support the business. I'm not sure if business is a little rough right now or not but we definitely do like to support local as much as we can. We started off with 2 appetizers steak bites and mac and cheese. The steak bites were good. The barbecue sauce is not needed. The mac & cheese had good seasoning and flavor, but roux was not done properly cause it did have a grainy texture. We also ordered a bottle of wine to go with dinner. We did wait a while for our food to come out we did all order steaks, medium rare. Unfortunately, they were more medium than mid rare, al of the steak dishes did come with veggies and a baked potato that was fully loaded. I ordered their $22 special that was a steak with shrimp and a baked potato. The steak was well seasoned. I did like the butter that was placed on the top cause it did melt into it. The shrimp was good. They did pair it with a dipping sauce that had a spiciness to it. I tried it. I didn't eat it. I just had the shrimp with lemon. My steak was more medium than mid rare, but it was juicy full of flavor. I did finish it. I didn't have a chance to eat the baked potato because there was a lot of food on my plate. My daughter wanted her steak, medium rare, and she was disappointed because it was medium. She does like to have her steak looking bloody. I felt that the proportions on each dish was enough each plate average $40. The mac & cheese was $18 and so was the steak bites. Our bill did come out to $260 for four people to eat. That's including four dishes, two appetizers, a bottle of wine and one soda. A few things I do want to add they need to add some kind of tint to the windows because they're in direct sunlight that feeds into the dining area. We all know, Fresno is pretty hot during the summertime so we definitely need to make sure the air is running and there's some kind of shade to prevent the sun from hitting you directly in the face.

This place has been in my regular rotation since they opened and I have never had a bad meal here…read more The concept is a family style hot pot restaurant where you cook your own protein, vegetables or noodles in a flavored brother. You can pick between 1 and 4 different broths per pot. Each table has one cooking stove top, with the larger tables having two. The broths range from vegetarian to mild, to spicy to meat based. Everything is a la carte with the exception of some premade combinations bundling a variety of like items. There's various meat and veggie combos as well as a seafood combo. I always order the veggie combo which comes with a lot that's easily shareable between 4 people. It comes with various greens, mushrooms, cabbage, corn on the cob, cauliflower, and carrots. I don't eat red meat so I stick to their sliced chicken breast or the shrimp balls. My other favorite is the bean curd sticks which is a good meatless protein option. As for broths my two favorite are the Chinese Healthy Herb and the kimchi. I also like their salted crispy chicken appetizer (popcorn chicken). Steamed rice is also a must for me. They have a dipping sauce bar where you can make your own dipping sauce to accompany your hot pot. With the exception of the broth adding flavor, the meats and all the ingredients you add to your hot pot are unseasoned. It includes everything from soy sauce and fish sauce to garlic, fresh chilis, vinegar, and crushed peanuts. Whether you like to keep it simple, mild, or spicy there's a sauce you can create. The ambiance is pretty nice. It used to be a Chinese restaurant years ago and they did keep some of the things the same. They have 3 different TVs inside. The two larger ones on the walls each play a different Kdrama and the one above the register plays Kpop music videos. They do have one larger table that I think accommodates somewhere between 10-12 people (don't quote me on that) and another that can fit 6 or 7 people. Majority of the tables sit 4 and a couple sit 2. Depending what day and time you go, it can get pretty busy and you might have to wait a while. The staff is always friendly and helpful. At the end of the meal they give you orange slices and hard guava candy. Their orange slices are always so good too and a good palette cleanser at the end.

The interruptions are not a complaint I promise! Our server Renee was knowledgeable and had great recommendations! I definitely would be asking for her when we go back. I also had Orange Dreamcicle cocktail that tasted like a 50/50 bar and no it wasn't too sweet nor too strong it was just right.

I'm coming back to update my 1-star review after about a year. To be honest, I only gave this place…read moreanother shot because I had a gift card, but I have to say... it was a lot better this time around! I went during peak hours on a busy day, and seeing the place packed actually made me feel a bit more secure. I figured with that many customers, the kitchen and salad bar would naturally stay fresher since the food is constantly being cycled out. While I still think any establishment should keep things up to par regardless of how slow it is, the difference in freshness this time was really noticeable compared to my first visit when it was dead. The service was great, which is a big win for me because even in my last review, I mentioned the service was the one thing they got right. I'm really glad to see that's still super consistent here. As for the food, they had a lot of "trendy" meats that I've been hearing about. I think it's a cut that's been all over TikTok the Picanha cut? I might be wrong on the name, but I'd heard people talking about it and it was super good and very tender. The biggest improvement, though, was the consistency. I prefer my beef medium-rare, and last time I was here, almost everything they brought out was well-done. This time, every piece that made its way to my table was cooked exactly how I like it. I'm glad I was actually able to enjoy the meal this time!
