Our celebrating party of 11, divided into two groups, arrived separately. Thankfully the request to be seated together was welcomed and accommodated. Buffet payment, drinks and price per person, is paid before being seated. Staff is quick to clear finished plates and bowls while dining. We were all pleased and satisfied with our many trips to the buffet, and we all plan to dine here again.

If the food wasn't hot then it was warm. Which is okay for me. The stir fry was the best

The food variety is excellent and at a good price for what you can get. Especially love the crepe station, it's tasty and satisfying. Overall the place looks a bit old but clean. Would recommend!

I came her in Fresno because my cousins mother passed away. We came after her funeral when she was buried. It was really depressing. Exterior was like looking at a hobby lobby, you heard that correct, it was huge. When entering, you get a massive dining hall with a large buffet in the way back with plenty of seats all around. Price per person was about $17 or so. The food quality was kind of average to me. Chinese food like orange chicken, mushroom roots, steam buns, cakes, ice cream pastries but just nothing compared to Las Vegas bacchanal buffet in comparison. The food was delicious, I enjoyed eating the teppanyaki noodles the most. The desserts were not great. A station where you can have ramen noodles was actually not bad. I enjoyed it. Overall, the atmosphere and the teppanyaki was my favorite. The other food was kind of low, the sushi for example had imitation crab, nothing really fresh. But it is an upgrade to most buffets I've been to. Service was great, the servers cleaned up played quickly so people can go up for more food. It is a place I would definitely try if you like teppanyaki or Mongolian grill places especially at the price point per person.

I went on a Sunday around 11/noon, I thought I beat the church crowd or got in after they left, but the place was PACKED. There was only about a ten minute wait though. When I left around 1:55pm, the line was out into the parking lot. $30 adult, $2 fountain drink, $36.45 with tax. I was greeted and sat at my table and my drink was brought out quickly. The tables, silverware, and plates were clean. There is hand sanitizer at the entrance. Next time I'll bring gloves though. It's busy, but not too disorganized, it seems people were going the opposite direction of most buffets, so at times, I couldn't tell if I was cutting in line or not. Everytime I went to get more food, my previous plate was removed and any spills cleaned. Even though there are a ton of people eating and walking around, it's surprisingly not that loud. The food: Grilled Brisket - not tender tastes like a chuck roast (pot roast) Cajun mussels- sweet and spicy Stuffed mushroom-breadcrumbs, flavorful, juicy, sweet earthy Butterflied fried shrimp- crispy and cooked well Hofun - flat noodles, semisweet, al dente, has onions Baby bok choy- tender and crisp, bright and lightly seasoned Pot Roast- savory, semisweet, tender. Better than the brisket (blasphemy) BBQ pork rib- sweet bbq sauce/glaze, kinda dry, but decent Green beans- steamed and sauteed, lightly salted and garlic, cooked well Salmon nigiri- delicate flavor with great rice Shrimp nigiri- clean flavor, mildly sweet shrimp Cheese mussels- sweet, cheesy, tender, plump Tuna Sashimi- firm, tender, not fishy, slightly oceany, clean flavor Grilled steak- nice char, but well done, so chewy and tough Sausage- bright and savory flavor. Kinda tastes like a breakfast sausage. Skin has a good snap to it Pot sticker- ground chicken? golden crust with perfect amount of filling, tender and crisp veggies Grilled calamari- firm and tender, nice char

Review #835 2025-006 I've never been to Golden Harbor Buffet whenever I've visited my relatives in Fresno, except for 2 occasions in sadness (post-funeral receptions). Opened pre-COVID-19 5 years ago, GHB serves Chinese, American, Mexican foods with Japanese sushi. The restaurant is located on the west end of West Acres Shopping Center. The dining room is deceptive in size, hiding several private dining spaces, including the large room (seats 150?) that held my beloved Aunt's reception. I selected mostly Chinese dishes. I loved the Chinese Broccoli & filled 1/2 my plate with it along with Steamed Bass (last portion was slightly rubbery), Ho Fun (noodles were overcooked so they're broken), Braised Beef (last portion was a little dry) that I topped with some Chili Oil without dripping onto the Custard Bun (tasty bite of creamy custard) with a 2nd plate of specialty rolls, tuna & salmon nigiris, tamago sushi (fresh Sushi Boy-quality sushi), & bowl of Hot & Sour Soup (yummy but mild "hot" heat). Reusing my sushi plate, I went back for a 2nd round, adding fruits: Honeydew & Pineapple, Mango Pudding & Strawberry Jello, & bowl of Tapioca (mild, watery concoction with clumpy mini tapioca pearls; should be creamy & milky with vanilla/pandan, coconut taste). I washed down my lunch with a well-made Arnold Palmer. 2 stations I didn't try was the Pho/Ramen & Taco. Buffet prices are really affordable for the quantity & quality of food choices! I didn't expect 1 YOs to be charged (how much can they really eat); another posted prices pic 5 years ago & they remained the same -- wowza! Though I'm unsure of the actual price since my cousins took care of the bill. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We had 1 amazing server handling drinks order & clean-up for most of our lunch; for the turnaround, she was pretty efficient! If the website's prices are accurate, I can imagine Golden Harbor Buffet having parking issues on the weekends. I believe some of the entrees, sides, & desserts (there used to be a chocolate fountain) rotate, I would recommend trying this buffet if you're in the area, & suggest selecting hot foods that are freshly plated or mostly new, not less than half empty ones (been sitting awhile). Buffet Prices (January 2025): Lunch: Regular: $12.99, Senior: $11.99, Child: $2.99 (1 YO) , $4.99 (2-3), $8.99 (4-7), $10.99 (8-10) Dinner: Regular: $16.99, Senior: $15.99, Child: $3.99 (1 YO) , $5.99 (2-3), $10.99 (4-7), $12.99 (8-10) Weekends: $17.99 Drinks (soda, hot tea, coffee): 99¢ Dim Sum: Sponge Cake, Sticky Rice, Shiu Mai, Chicken Feet, Beef Louver, Honeycomb Tripe; Buns: Peach (actually looks like one), Taro, Custard, Twisted Roll Entrees & Sides: Fried Crab, Steamed Chicken & Bass, Braised Beef, Orange Chicken, Stir-Fried Chinese Cauliflower, Green Beans, Ho Fun, Chow Mein, Calamari, Potato Skins, Fries Soups: Shrimp with Vegetables, Hot & Sour, Seafood, Miso Fruits: Honeydew, Mango, Pineapple, Orange, Lemon, Banana Desserts: Puddings: Honeydew, Strawberry, Mango; Strawberry Jello; Ice Cream: Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Rainbow Sherbet; Ice Cream Crepe + Cotton Candy station; Rainbow Rice Crispy & Raisin Crisp Treats; Chocolate Cake; Tiramisu; Vanilla Roll; Tapioca; Egg Tarts; Sesame Balls; Fried Donuts

I will say for the price golden harbor buffet does offer an excellent amount of options that are appetizing. I did enjoy all the food we ate. The service however was poor to almost awful, our waitress never came to our table until we went to the front to ask her for beer refills. The environment in the restaurant didn't feel very welcoming either. I do understand that at buffets it can get hot but when I am sweating due to the heat in the place there is a problem. For the price and the food it is definitely worth a go but don't expect a great service or environment.

The food quality has gone downhill, which is disappointing because this used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The food tastes like freezer Chinese food rewarmed. Our large party was automatically charged a 15% gratuity, yet the service didn't justify it. Our server only brought water once and never refilled drinks till we were leaving. We were seated at the only table they have for large parties, located in the back near the dessert area. The table was wobbly, appeared to have a folding table added to make room, and was cramped and uncomfortable. What I don't understand is why large parties are charged extra when the seating and service are no different from any other table in the restaurant. If you're paying more, there should be better accommodations or added service, not the same experience everyone else receives. After two disappointing visits this year, I won't be returning. It's unfortunate because I used to love this restaurant. I suggest to go to another place for large parties or for business events. just fyi it was almost $300 for 5 adults 3 children. Also on a previous visit I went two hours before closing the food quality is extremely horrible and they don't refill the food anymore. They started mopping it smelled like dirty mop. Still charge full price. They just let you eat whatever is out. Sad to say

We felt beyond welcomed and it was a homey feeling, like we were at a friend's house! I am a huge fan of menudo. I decided to try the menudo was actually shocked. Don't get me wrong it isn't completely like an abuelita was in the kitchen making it, however it was edible. It had a clean smell and not a barnyard smell. This is an accomplishment that surpasses most "authentic" Mexican restaurant, and I experienced it at a buffet. The only thing missing for me was tortillas and fresh cilantro and onion.. Butttt we don't complain over here .. so I'd rather not have cilantro and onion over tasting cow ass.. I walked over to check out desserts and happened to catch Alicia F doing temperature checks. You can pick between 1 and 4 different broths per pot. Each table has one cooking stove top, with the larger tables having two. The broths range from vegetarian to mild, to spicy to meat based. Everything is a la carte with the exception of some premade combinations bundling a variety of like items. There's various meat and veggie combos as well as a seafood combo. I always order the veggie combo which comes with a lot that's easily shareable between 4 people. It comes with various greens, mushrooms, cabbage, corn on the cob, cauliflower, and carrots. I don't eat red meat so I stick to their sliced chicken breast or the shrimp balls. My other favorite is the bean curd sticks which is a good meatless protein option. As for broths my two favorite are the Chinese Healthy Herb and the kimchi. I also like their salted crispy chicken appetizer (popcorn chicken). Steamed rice is also a must for me. They have a dipping sauce bar where you can make your own dipping sauce to accompany your hot pot. With the exception of the broth adding flavor, the meats and all the ingredients you add to your hot pot are unseasoned. It includes everything from soy sauce and fish sauce to garlic, fresh chilis, vinegar, and crushed peanuts. Whether you like to keep it simple, mild, or spicy there's a sauce you can create. The ambiance is pretty nice. It used to be a Chinese restaurant years ago and they did keep some of the things the same. They have 3 different TVs inside. The two larger ones on the walls each play a different Kdrama and the one above the register plays Kpop music videos. They do have one larger table that I think accommodates somewhere between 10-12 people (don't quote me on that) and another that can fit 6 or 7 people. Majority of the tables sit 4 and a couple sit 2. Depending what day and time you go, it can get pretty busy and you might have to wait a while. The staff is always friendly and helpful. At the end of the meal they give you orange slices and hard guava candy. Their orange slices are always so good too and a good palette cleanser at the end.

Everything had the same smell to it. It must be the fish sauce or vinegar that they use or something. But the smell and taste was overwhelming. If I just ate the noodles of the chow mein, that wasn't so bad but that was it. The sweet and sour chicken was ok, and for the most part, the chicken salad was ok except the pieces of chicken again, had that same taste. I can't really describe it. Anyway, those two dishes are the only reason I gave 2 stars. I normally love leftover Chinese food for breakfast the next day. Not this, I had to throw it away. And that's a crime in this economy.

For dessert, we got crème brûlée which was just okay. Easy to skip. Small detail, but they didn't have any kind of complimentary anniversary treat (at least mot for us lol). Every other nicer (and even not as nice) restaurant we've been to for our anniversaries/birthdays came with either champagne or a dessert to celebrate. They did go through with decorating what we ordered though. Not a huge deal, but just something to note if you're planning to celebrate anything. Overall, we'll definitely be back again.
