Very good food options, service as good, always having people check on us, had a great dinner there with my family

I went on a Sunday around 11/noon, I thought I beat the church crowd or got in after they left, but the place was PACKED. There was only about a ten minute wait though. When I left around 1:55pm, the line was out into the parking lot. $30 adult, $2 fountain drink, $36.45 with tax. I was greeted and sat at my table and my drink was brought out quickly. The tables, silverware, and plates were clean. There is hand sanitizer at the entrance. Next time I'll bring gloves though. It's busy, but not too disorganized, it seems people were going the opposite direction of most buffets, so at times, I couldn't tell if I was cutting in line or not. Everytime I went to get more food, my previous plate was removed and any spills cleaned. Even though there are a ton of people eating and walking around, it's surprisingly not that loud. The food: Grilled Brisket - not tender tastes like a chuck roast (pot roast) Cajun mussels- sweet and spicy Stuffed mushroom-breadcrumbs, flavorful, juicy, sweet earthy Butterflied fried shrimp- crispy and cooked well Hofun - flat noodles, semisweet, al dente, has onions Baby bok choy- tender and crisp, bright and lightly seasoned Pot Roast- savory, semisweet, tender. Better than the brisket (blasphemy) BBQ pork rib- sweet bbq sauce/glaze, kinda dry, but decent Green beans- steamed and sauteed, lightly salted and garlic, cooked well Salmon nigiri- delicate flavor with great rice Shrimp nigiri- clean flavor, mildly sweet shrimp Cheese mussels- sweet, cheesy, tender, plump Tuna Sashimi- firm, tender, not fishy, slightly oceany, clean flavor Grilled steak- nice char, but well done, so chewy and tough Sausage- bright and savory flavor. Only came back because my parents wanted to eat here. This time we came on a Friday evening. All the food looked like it had been sitting there for a while, nothing looked fresh. Things were dried up on the tray warmers. Service was also lacking this time, had to flag someone down to fill waters multiple times. Sushi/sashimi did not taste fresh. I circled a few times overall to see what looked appealing and nothing really stood out to me. I did eat some Cajun seafood boil, pizza, and fries, but nothing was great, it was just something to eat. Still just whatever about this place although again they do have some options to choose from. A lot of entrees to choose from and always filled so you never have to wait. The Grill station is my go to as fresh veges get cooked in front of you with your choice of veges and meat and seasoning. I came her in Fresno because my cousins mother passed away. We came after her funeral when she was buried. It was really depressing. Exterior was like looking at a hobby lobby, you heard that correct, it was huge. When entering, you get a massive dining hall with a large buffet in the way back with plenty of seats all around. Price per person was about $17 or so. The food quality was kind of average to me. Chinese food like orange chicken, mushroom roots, steam buns, cakes, ice cream pastries but just nothing compared to Las Vegas bacchanal buffet in comparison. The food was delicious, I enjoyed eating the teppanyaki noodles the most. The desserts were not great. A station where you can have ramen noodles was actually not bad. I enjoyed it. Overall, the atmosphere and the teppanyaki was my favorite. The other food was kind of low, the sushi for example had imitation crab, nothing really fresh. But it is an upgrade to most buffets I've been to. Service was great, the servers cleaned up played quickly so people can go up for more food. It is a place I would definitely try if you like teppanyaki or Mongolian grill places especially at the price point per person. read more

Dined in for lunch gathering with my family around 1 PM and it was super busy. The entire floor was filled with customers hungry. I believe we went on a Sunday and so it was very busy assuming people left church or something else. Service was quite good wasn't very good or extremely good. The staff were attentive and kind constantly asking for dirty plates every 15 minutes or so which I actually didn't enjoy because I felt it was disrupting my conversations. Quite expensive imo but I went just recently and the food was overall really good. The hosts seemed nice and were always stopping around to pick up dirty dishes and helped anyone who had questions or wanted refills for their drinks. This very large buffet has been busy every time I've gone and the service is good. Once you check in you can find yourself a seat anywhere and there's almost always enough seating to bring in a bigger party without a reservation. The food is typical buffet fair, I'll be honest, but it's delicious and fresh. One of the few buffets I have actually tried the sushi. My family enjoys the seafood and while I'm not much of a fan I do adore the fried shrimp! Table service can be a bit slow when it's busy, but that's only really important if you need a drink refill and let's be honest, you are NOT going to a Chinese buffet for the Diet Coke. read more

Review #835 2025-006 I've never been to Golden Harbor Buffet whenever I've visited my relatives in Fresno, except for 2 occasions in sadness (post-funeral receptions). Opened pre-COVID-19 5 years ago, GHB serves Chinese, American, Mexican foods with Japanese sushi. The restaurant is located on the west end of West Acres Shopping Center. The dining room is deceptive in size, hiding several private dining spaces, including the large room (seats 150?) that held my beloved Aunt's reception. I selected mostly Chinese dishes. I loved the Chinese Broccoli & filled 1/2 my plate with it along with Steamed Bass (last portion was slightly rubbery), Ho Fun (noodles were overcooked so they're broken), Braised Beef (last portion was a little dry) that I topped with some Chili Oil without dripping onto the Custard Bun (tasty bite of creamy custard) with a 2nd plate of specialty rolls, tuna & salmon nigiris, tamago sushi (fresh Sushi Boy-quality sushi), & bowl of Hot & Sour Soup (yummy but mild "hot" heat). Reusing my sushi plate, I went back for a 2nd round, adding fruits: Honeydew & Pineapple, Mango Pudding & Strawberry Jello, & bowl of Tapioca (mild, watery concoction with clumpy mini tapioca pearls; should be creamy & milky with vanilla/pandan, coconut taste). I washed down my lunch with a well-made Arnold Palmer. 2 stations I didn't try was the Pho/Ramen & Taco. Buffet prices are really affordable for the quantity & quality of food choices! I didn't expect 1 YOs to be charged (how much can they really eat); another posted prices pic 5 years ago & they remained the same -- wowza! I will say for the price golden harbor buffet does offer an excellent amount of options that are appetizing. I did enjoy all the food we ate. The service however was poor to almost awful, our waitress never came to our table until we went to the front to ask her for beer refills. The environment in the restaurant didn't feel very welcoming either. I do understand that at buffets it can get hot but when I am sweating due to the heat in the place there is a problem. For the price and the food it is definitely worth a go but don't expect a great service or environment. read more

I've come here on multiple occasions with family! Buffet in general is pricy. Typically busy! Service is alright, could be better but I'm here for the food Lots of good options! This is Chinese cuisine so expect that. I always start my buffet experience with sushi, they have solid enough sushi options! Then for food, I enjoy seafood so I get a lot of their seafood dishes and everything I've had from here has been pretty solid. They also have cotton candy (though not all the time). Gave this place another try and it's still a no from me. Walked inside and they seemed annoyed I wanted a to go box. It's 9.99 a lb which isn't bad however it's more if you add any seafood. Most of the stuff looked like it had been sitting there so I was very selective. What I got had weird flavors or was dry. The best thing I got were the potstickers which were actually pretty decent. However I got broccoli beef. Dry with super crunch broccoli. I got roast which had the oddest flavor. Boyfriend said it tasted like lotion. I got garlic shrimp and when I got home noticed the shrimp smelled kind of off. I got some dim sum which was all bad. I won't be back again. I have given it 3 tries read more

The food is pretty good. Quality of the crab legs hasn't ever been the best which is upsetting but really all the rest of the food is pretty good. If we could just get some better quality crab legs I'd be happy. All around I'll be coming back though. Not a bad spot to spend a few hours. read more

Stopped by for dinner with some local friends because we were told it's the best buffet in the area. It was okay. The options were plenty though the actual quality wasn't anything to be desired. I usually like to try a little of everything when trying out a buffet but I did not at this location. Some of the options just did not look worth it. I did like their little dim sum area with the roast duck. That's probably one option that was different from most Chinese buffets but can totally be missed since it's hidden in a little corner. Service was almost non existent. We ended up getting refills from a busser who we saw having to help the tables around us as well. I get why they have you pay before seating because they've already got your money. No need to provide service. It was annoying and I hope the busser received our cash tip. I have been to this place many times, but today will be the last time ever. Most of the hot food was cold from sitting too long, there was flies all in the place, and the worst part is, I found a hair in one of the crab-cakes I was about to put on my plate to eat. I must say this place has downhill. $77 for two people is already crazy because their dinner starts at 2pm in order to stack up profits. If I'm going to pay that much, I at least want the hot food to be hot and for there not be flys and hair on my food. read more

We love coming here and the food choices are pretty good. Expect long lines and the refills won't come quick enough, but the crepe and ice cream station make up for it. Do NOT eat here. The service is absolutely terrible. The front lady came to our group accusing that I didn't pay for my son. I understand misunderstanding occur, but she came at us with mad attitude. This was the first place we visited in the new year. It was New Year's Day and we were out looking to see what was open and Golden Harbor was one of the few places that were. We were happy about that so we decided to give it a try. The buffet is in a shared lot with plenty of parking so it shouldn't be an issue. When we walked in we were warmly greeted. Why caught my eye was how nice it looked all decorated for Christmas and then I realized how big it was inside. While waiting in line to pay I heard a man order hot tea so when it was our turn I ordered that. Since I was set on eating one of everything I knew tea was the way to go lol! Soothes the stomach, at least I think it does. Anyway! We walked in and were seated on the soup station side. There are so many options! You can create your own noodle stir fry, ramen or enjoy the 3 ready made soups they have like miso and egg drop. They have anything you would normally order at an American Chinese restaurant. I'm talking potstickers, crab Rangoon, butterfly shrimp, coconut shrimp, salmon, chow mein, dim sum, dumplings. Then also sushi, salad bar and crab legs. There is also a dessert station where they have someone making crepes and cotton candy. We tried some of everything but I got a plate of Rangoon cuz they're my favorite and normally at a take-out place I can only afford an order of 3. Here I can have a whole plate of them! They're really good here too. So if you're looking for a good buffet on the north side of town, this is it. Look at the pics and give it a try. My review is just towards customer service, the Asian lady in the front is very rude. I paid $88 dollars for me and my two kids. My son had only one plate, ONE! As we were done eating, she came up to me talking about the chicken thighs and said next time only grab one by one, you waste food. He ate most of the food on his plate and I'm not going to keep getting up to grab one piece of item since it's an all you can eat place. Definitely okay! Lines were long when we came at 2pm! You walk in, get on the line on the right to pay, and then move to the left line to be seated. Expect to wait about 10-15 minutes if it's busy. For about $30 a person, I can't say that I'll be coming back here. My mom, on the other hand, really enjoyed Golden Harbor! She absolutely loves seafood, and was fully taking advantage of the fact that this is a buffet. There's a really wide variety of food! Sushi, seafood, pho/ramen, buns, and desserts line each table. Something really nice was the chocolate fountain and also there is an employee that makes crepes and wraps it around a scoop of ice cream for you. Also, cleanliness will always be an issue with buffets because people will mix serving spoons and such. I went today with my Sister heard nothing but good things about it .Last year I went with my Son and his wife for his Birthday .It was good .Today 4/4/2026 hot food was cold or just warm.,and cold food was warm..I mean for 65.00 2 seniors It was pricy.But she had never been .We tried the different meats and sides and they were not hot. There was a roach on my table. Before I seen that the food was already mediocre. I would say the duck was good and most of the desserts. The seafood was smelly but looked good. The inside is nice with dim lighting and it's not noisy so it felt more like a restaurant than the average buffet and all the workers were very nice. The people who work there are nice enough. But you're better off going to Lin's Fusion. Same price range, but it's better over there. I got sick after I came here. The fountain drinks taste disgusting, I tried a different option, same thing. Food is cold. They don't have chili paste and they charge for your drink separate.
