I just tried this place after driving past it for years. The food is really good especially the burgers. However, the customer service at the drive thru window is lacking. If I could give this place no stars I would. My sister and I have heard great things about this place, besides it being a little over priced. So we decided to check it out. The place is extremely dirty, especially if you look into the kitchen. The employees are extremely rude. I don't know if it was a racial reason or not because they seemed friendly to the Hispanic family who order before us. Anyways my sister and I took it to go because they made us feel uncomfortable. I order the chicken strip dinner and she order a burger. Well my chicken strips weren't properly cooked all the way and I had to microwave them to fully cook them. Not to mention all of their food is pre-made and frozen. So my sister probably has like almost a quarter of her burger left, when I see this long black hair sticking out. My sister and I have blonde hair. It was disgusting. So I called and told them about the chicken and the burger and they said okay come back in we'll refund you. They also asked for us to bring her burger in so they could see. So we come back and show them and she goes there's not enough burger left to refund you..... what!!! So you mean to tell me that it's okay that there was a nasty hair in your food and you probably ate some but we can't refunded you because there's not enough burger left!?! She made it Sound like we requested the burger with hair. I couldn't believe it especially because for two people to eat there is like $18. I asked to speak to a manger and she said she wouldn't be in till 4 and that I would have to come back. I came back later around five something so I could speak to the manager and they said she had not shown up for her shift yet.... wtf! So now I've been there three times and they will still not refund me. Than to top it off she started speaking Spanish to another one of her employees and they laughed, I knew they were talking crap. This is the worst breakfast spot me and my family have been to. We ordered food and it was normal and then they didn't serve us our coffee we had to wait and then we had to get everything ourselves. We had to get all our utensils and had to keep getting up to get the ketchup and the syrup. they didn't ask if we were doing good or checking on us or if we needed a coffee refill until we were getting up to leave. Four Stars for a classic Greek style charbroiled burger place. This place has the best pastrami sandwich (west coast style) around. Before this place opened we checked every burger joint in town to find a good burger AND pastrami...there was none to be had until Golden Ox came to town to save us from the masses of places selling measly packed, too wet, or most likely too dry, sandwiches they called Pastramis. Yes, even The Hat never lived up to the pastrami sandwiches such as Golden Ox's that I grew up eating in the San Gabriel Valley. Their burgers are big and juicy, the kind with a slight hint of cumin, the kind that is very Greek, if you know what I mean. Too bad they didnt have the classic soda cups with the discus thrower on them. The place is really kept clean and the service is great with friendly waitresses and managers. I cant go to any other place in town for a double cheeseburger or pastrami. I am a long time customer of this place and have spent alot of money here. Normally everyone is very nice and helpful, but I went there on Friday an the cashier was the biggest bytch...and I'm being nice saying this. She's the most disrespectful eye rolling jerk. I am shocked to see all these 3,4,5 reviews. Just moved to the neighborhood, and they are close. But, I will drive somewhere else next time. First time I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich. I'm not really picky about food from a drive thru, but it tasted like cardboard. The meat was unseasoned, and didn't have any flavor to it. Nothing about this sandwich tasted good. So, I went back today, and gave it another shot. I ordered the Turkey Bacon club. Just AWFUL.... Same thing... no flavor. You can automatically tell that they do not use fresh ingredients. The turkey was like sliced cafeteria meat. I also suspect they zapped the turkey & bacon. The only thing I could taste was the lettuce, and tomato, which is 90% of the sandwich. The bread tasted like it was fried on a greasy stove. The fries were bland, and cold by the time I got to the house, which is less than a mile away. I think I've had better food at Denny's. Not to mention, it cost me $12 dollars each for the privilege of eating these sandwiches. My recommendation to the owner is to make an effort to make the food better. Everything tasted as if it came out of the deep freeze, or microwave, and had no taste. I will just get Carl's Jr... their food is frozen too, but at least it has taste, and doesn't cost you $12.00 . Not much I can say about this. I tried this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago but i was in a crunch for time so I did the drive thru. And I was in the mood for pastrami. The service was decent and fast, which is why i am giving it more than one star. The pastrami came home with me and it was soggy as ever, with the most spongy bread you could possibly imagine. Soggy with what you ask??? I don't know, I think it was possibly oil or grease which is a turn off. The meat was also more than slightly undercooked, I took one bite and threw it away. Soggy fries as well. Waste of my money to be honest. I spent almost 15 bucks for the sandwich fries and a drink. It will likely be a waste of your money too. You are honestly better off trying and failing to make pastrami at home, because then you'd at least have enough ingredients to try again a couple of times or more, all for well under 15 dollars. read more

Today I went to golden ox burgers #102 drive through. i odered 2 patrami cheese burgers, fries and oinion rings...we dont live very far from the resturant. when we got home the burgers didn't have pastrami on them and the fries were cold. we never have had this problem at any other place. before we payed they retold us our order so thats what we thought we were getting..totally upset my mom. so unless you like your orders wrong i wouldn't suggest you lgoing to this establishment. read more

The quality of the food has gone down recently. I always get the cheeseburger combo. The fries are fairly stale now even after I tell them to put extra seasoning on the fries. They used to add a good amount but now I guess they have to cut down. I get they are trying to stay competitive with their pricing, but I'd rather have a solid meal for a couple more dollars then have a mediocre meal for the amount I would save. I also always ask for a bad of yellow peppers and they used to give me 5 to 6, now when I ask they forget about the peppers 50% of the time and when they do remember I get like 2 or 3 peppers. I guess I have to be specific and say I want 6 peppers now. The burger is still fairly good, but doesn't taste the same. So in all, please just make your food better even if that means raising the prices to take care of your employees golden ox. Thx read more

I'm going to be completely honest there food is good but the manager here has poor customer service skills. Ive experienced this location being very cheap when it comes to giving out extra sides of dipping sauce like ranch or lemons etc. I use to be a regular customer but I got fed up with how rude the manager and some associates are to me as a customer. Today was the last straw. I went in with my mom for a nice breakfast and left highly upset. The extra hashbrowns I ordered fell all over my legs. (Not to mention I had shorts on and it was fresh off the grill) I didn't even have one bite. They wouldn't give me another side of hashbrowns and wanted to charge me for another side if I wanted more. Then after explaining how they burned my leg and how upset I was they said okay. 10 min. Later still no hashbrowns by then I was almost done with my breakfast and just wanted my refund. They wouldn't even do that! If they don't realize how many customers they will loose due to the fact this place has poor customer service I cant imagine it making any money. read more

I love it there. Bfast is wonderful I always order the steak and eggs. There burgers are to die for. Now on the Healthy side the salads are fully loaded and high as a mountain. Absolutely terrible place of business. Nothing in comparison to the Bob's Burgers that was formerly at this location. Me and my wife have frequented Golden Ox due to it's extremely close proximity to the house while not having a vehicle. Originally the service was decent the owner's chatted up the customers to establish a friendly environment, but the more we went the more "acquainted" they became with us and felt that since we were regulars we were willing to wait for the food rather then it being a fast food location. The early visits ranged from about 3-8 minutes to get a complete order of food and leave. The same amount of food now, with more staffing and less customers takes approximately 15 minutes. The recent situations that have tipped us over from the interest in continuing our patronage is that the last 3 visits we have requested combos, and have not been given combos since the cashier hasn't heard us while conversing with the other staff. This wouldn't normally be a problem, except for the fact that you don't get a receipt printed with what you ordered(which will be discussed in the next section -.- ) and then they continue conversing with the other staff while you wait behind the register again.(since obviously since you already ordered there is nothing you would dare need to speak or order again) Then they have to re-ring everything up and take your card again to get what should have been done the first time. Their pricing system is terrible. You don't receive a printed receipt so you have to figure the prices in your head as they make guesstimates of the prices of what you ordered. We could never figure out why we were being charged so much and couldn't get an accurate price from the menu print-out we owned and the menu behind the counter. Apparently updating prices doesn't have any priority when it comes to their menu system. For example while their double cheeseburger is listed multiple locations as 4.10 they charge 4.69 various other items have this same dual-price system as well. Finally they can't decide on what hours they want to be open. They have times listed on the front of their doors, and on the printed-out menus, but will close early randomly. I can understand a small food restaurant closing up shop a few minutes early, or rather preparing to close, but there have been times where we have gone 30 minutes before the listed close time to discover that everything is already locked up and shut down, so if you dare eat at Golden Ox regardless of their mediocre food, terrible pricing, and enjoy waiting for your meal, make sure you call them first to be sure that they are open. read more

I looooove this place! It is right nearby my house, which is super convenient. And the food is amazing. Everytime I have come here, my food was cooked to perfection and delicious! I highly recommend the sundaes - REALLY REALLY LARGE!!! Delicious. The prices are more than reasonable. You would probably spend less if not the same to go to Taco Bell or McDonalds....and you get way more food, that is way better quality, with a wide selection on the menu. They serve very large portions as well. The ladies who work here are also very sweet. Highly recommend. read more

Total disappointment! Went for the first time tonight and bought dinner for my family. My husband ordered the Chicken Strip dinner that comes with fries, onion rings & zucchini. The chicken was bland, fries were soggy and looked like they were reheated in oil. He only got 3 thin shoestring sized zucchinis and a couple onion rings, also soggy. I ordered a Patty Melt with grilled onions. The onions were burned so that's basically what my Patty Melt tasted like.... burned onions! We ordered our kids Grilled Cheese kids combos. The grilled cheese sandwiches were ok, but the fries were soggy, looked old and reheated. We should have just gone to McDonald's..... read more

The golden ox has really good food. I like their pastrami sandwich but when I took a bite out of it there was a toothpick hidden in the pastrami meat. I come here for their breakfast burritos, and always drive thru! I order no meat, with egg and cheese. Their salsa that comes with the burrito is so tasty. It is only around $4ish dollars but the burrito is super filling too, and best of all it is not dripping with grease like a George's Hamburger breakfast burrito. The people at the drive thru window are generally pretty friendly too, which is a plus. I am definitely a fan, I recommend. read more
