Finally they got there new sign up...Kikkus just a past memory that lingered because of the sign. These are very friendly nice people running this sushi and cooked food (as my bff refers to anything other then sushi) They give you a nice bowl of crunchy noodles with duck sauce to enjoy as you wait for your food. Don"T eat them all! save room for your food, honestly sometimes the sushi is fabsushitastic other times its just ok. But we love this place and always feel welcome. Went here for mothers day and it was a real treat. I won't begin to name the dishes we ordered but everything was delicious! The staff was very attentive and felt like a family orientated restaurant. I have frequented most of the chinese restaurants in Queens and Manhattan. Hats off to the chef, he did a wonderful job preparing the dishes. My particular favorite was the stir friend steak with mushrooms but who am I kidding it was all very good. We did have some sushi at the end of it all and the salmon sashimi was excellent. I am particular about salmon shushi and sashimi because it is practically all i eat. It was very fresh and was probably one of the best shashimi plates I've had in a long time. This is most likely the best Chinese restaurant in a 20 mile radius. We have been there twice in a week and it is probably going to be the go-to restaurant when we want Chinese or a taste of Thai food. Everything is top notch, from the appetizers to the water! Portions are good, food is fresh and tasty and the service is excellent. Even the tea is better than your average cup. Service is attentive and the place is clean and conveniently located near Route 135 on Jericho Turnpike. We live about 20 minutes away and it is worth the drive. Even though Golden Temple is just all right, it's still my go-to for Chinese food and sushi. Mainly b/c they have both, the quality is good enough, they're close by, and they deliver, which is clutch when I'm homebound by myself w/ the kids. The tuna rolls are hit-or-miss - sometimes the tuna resembles scrape, which is sketchy. Also, their General Tso chicken could use more heat, or more ... something. People seem to love the decor. I find it very ... 90's. Too much color for my tastes. But whenever I pop in to pick up takeout, the place seems pretty well attended. Just dined there for the first time and made a point to order dishes that were relatively challenging to prepare. We were pleasantly surprised by tastiness and authenticity of the food. The Chinese Food here on Long Island seems to be going 2 way these days: Big Box expensive Glitzy neon encrusted Asian Fusion clip-joints -- and the in opposite direction : the old time "Chop Suey Shacks" with $5.99 lunch specials in a gluey MSG dribble. (This can almost reflect the personality of some of the people on Long Island as well - but lets save that for another of my obnoxious rants at another time). In the late 1990's this was a Chinese Restaurant called KIKO ; it was awesome! It had a salad & noodle bar (an small additional charge of something like $3.00 or $4.00) that was good enough to have as your dinner!So friggin' tasty! It was a small bar with only a few options but it was excellent!! My dish of choice at KIKO was the "Vegetarian Bird". It was like some sort of "chicken" stuffed breast (with a crispy "skin" too) - all 100% vegetarian and it was awesome ! In general-the food at KIKO was better than the new incarnation as "Golden Temple" as well. So anyway.... I move away from here in the late 90s-- and come back here in the early 2000s-- and Kiko has been replaced by this ...... um, "Golden Temple". One night we went in & looked around....no noodle/salad bar ! Gone. GOD DAMMIT! I felt so sad-- like a beloved kitten had run away from home or like someone had stolen my luggage. There is usually a 15% off coupon in one of the local books received in the mail, and that makes it an even better deal! Current favorite is Wonton with Szechuan Sauce [spicy] or chicken Chow Fun. They were all very kind, and quick to check that we were satisfied with our meal. Decor: The sign outside doesn't do the actual establishment any justice. They have a special Chinese menu for my parents to order from to get the down home dishes we would get in Chinatown. The service is very attentive. The place is roomy and not congested as other Chinese restaurants. We live 5 minutes away and that's a good thing to get some quick. The dishes I've tried here have been among my least favorite of all the Chinese mock meat dishes I've tried anywhere. Their mock meat options are also more limited than any other place I've been. When you order delivery from this place, the driver is very rude. First of all your not that far from the place at work at.. Delivery is free of charge. I chose to give the driver a tip. He was like $3 that's all. Then he started complaining. I told him technically delivery is free. My order was just about $20. We have been there several times and not once has we felt welcomed nor did the staff seem interested in making sure we had a positive experience. What a shame. The menu is rich with many excellent dishes and their vegetarian selection is prepared well with generous portions. Tourists in Syosset We were looking for good Chinese food. We wanted to find a place that had chinese chicken wings. Came in around 2pm on Monday. The service has been excellent and attentive. They have a very nice split Japanese Chinese menu. I got 4 rolls which were quite delicious. My fiance got a very nice bowl of thick egg drop soup with some absolutely delicious Chinese chicken wings. She also got the lunch beef with broccoli.
