Golden temple just opened a new restaurant called golden temple II. Ate there today for lunch. Do yourself a favor and skip it. The noodles were stale and soggy. The duck sauce was yellow and tasteless. The chicken and broccoli had bones. Chicken and vegetables had bones and pork. The scallops with vegetables was cold and needed to be reheated. Would never go back. Gross! Very disappointed because Golden Temple is great. read more

I just went there for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised to find vegetarian meat dishes on the menu! Now I have a place to go that is not too far from my office and I can get a variety of vegan dishes. Pleasant atmosphere and staff. I would definitely recommend going. read more

Came here for dinner with my wife. We had wonton soup egg drop soup general tso chicken and pork fried rice. It was easy to tell that everything was fresh. Even the couple the next table over had shrip and I could not smell it. The service was friendly and quick. The food was in large portions so bring your appitite. I have been going to this restaurant for years...before it changed owners and they renovated a few years ago. The food is always good and the people are always friendly! I usually go for sushi and fried rice. The ambiance is really nice and the food is always ready really quick when I call it in for pick up! I found this restaurant when I was in town for business. The quantity and quality of the food is very satisfying. It is very tasty and overly salted like some other Chinese restaurants. I came back for a few more times and tried different types of dishes. Personally, I really like their beef soup noodle. The beef is very tender and soup was tasty and a little spicy. Golden pan crispy Cantonese noodles with seafood is really good too. They also have sushi and Japanese style dishes. I did not have time to try but they looks very authentic as well. Used to come to the restaurant before it was golden temple for many years! Finally had the chance to try out golden temple & I can say I was not disappointed at all. The staff is very friendly and accommodating throughout service. The Chinese food in particular (what we had) was superb. Not greasy, oily, or overly seasoned or bland. The large selection of menu items was great; both Japanese & Chinese. The atmosphere is lovely & has a very modern & eclectic feel. What I liked the most was that you could tell that every ingredient used was fresh. We had the Beijing duck, shrimp dumplings, scallion pancakes, soft shell crab, & Singapore noodles. Everything was so good & fresh! The dumplings were the best we've ever had. Perfect ratio between filling and wrapper. Anyway, point is, we will be back very soon! This restaurant has a vast menu so everyone is bound to fiind something that pleases them. I have tried a good selection of food here, appetizers and entrees as well as sushi. What comes to mind right away is the pineapple chicken - delivered to the table in the 1/2 pineapple - niiice! the flavor is incredible and the chicken quite tender & juicy. The beef short ribs are a treat - tangy and sticky - and great beefy flavor, nice & tender too. My recent favorite is the Tom Yam Soup (for two) a spicy shrimp soup that will clear your sinuses. It has nice JUMBO shrimps and is plenty for sharing with more than two. We go here becasue it satisfies the sushi and non-sushi eaters in my family. The staff is friendly and quite welcoming, but if you have a special request or are orderiing off menu - you may want to say it more than once. If I could change anything... it would be to get a decent salad dressing. The ginger dressing is just awful, so I avoid salads here. BUT, ginger dressing has never kept me away from an otherwise good restaurant. The diiningroom is spacious and you never feel crowded. Try it !! read more

It's hard to find good Chinese in the area but here the food is excellent and the service if you dine in is even better. I've dined in here about 4 times and the service was very attentive each time, however, I've gotten delivery from here countless times, delivery is fast, inexpensive and tastes equally good to eating in the restaurant. They are also extremely friendly here, there have been several occasions i've arrived at 9-10pm on a sunday and they are more than willing to seat us and they don't rush you. This is my local Chinese spot when I'm in the area. read more

Food is awesome probably my families go to take out Chinese. Only down side of the order is how cheap they are with their cups of duck sauce. They didn't put avocado in any of my sushi rolls (the menu said it would have) so when I asked for avocado, they sliced avocados literally the size of a baby's toenail and just stuck it on top of 4/6 of my rolls. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Syosset by far. I always order the chicken and broccoli and I am never disappointed. They also have really good brown rice. The food is always fresh and delicious. They are also very on top of their customers whenever we need refills of water or anything someone is there to help or get us something if we need it. It doesn't always have to be your own waiter/waitress they work as a TEAM, which I think is awesome. They also have a new waitress who I had never seen before and she was right on target with everything. They give you your space to chat but my water glass was empty and she saw it was from across the room! She came right over with the pitcher. I was impressed! At most places, you have to ask for refills. If you are looking for good Chinese food this is the place. Don't listen to the reviews who have said this place is bad or unclean. I have been in Syosset my whole life (over 20 years) and there hasn't been a better Chinese restaurant in existence back then OR now. Plus, they put out a 15% coupon but cash is needed with this coupon. The only drawback is the egg roll is not included in the lunch menu. I would like to have the choice of either soup or egg roll because even though the soup is good I like egg rolls better. read more

There is nothing good about this place. The food is lousy and the service is barely passable. My family is Chinese and we've eaten solid authentic Chinese foods at home, in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, etc. and in all the good Chinese Restaurants here in LI, Queens and NYC If you don't know what authentic Chinese food is, and are a fan of Egg Foo Young, then you might like this place. Seriously, there are some very authentic excellent Chinese Restaurants nearby and also, some good Americanized Chinese places, so there is no good reason to eat here. I ate here for the first time and the food was excellent. The sesame chicken was amazing. The boneless spare ribs was great. The beef with broccoli was very good. The Shrimp Lo Mein was delicious. Ordered take-out from here on Christmas Day! Food arrived in 30 minutes and was hot and delish. I ordered online and got an extra 15% off my total bill. I ordered the veg fried rice, scallion pancakes and shrimp tempura. Everything was so tasty and good. Not too greasy/oily and just perfect. Only negative: They didn't provide utensils! Kikku of Empire was one of our favorite restaurants, but we were very disappointed by the new menu. The vegetarian dishes my daughter and I always ordered are no longer available, and my son's favorite, beef and broccoli, wasn't nearly as good as it used to be. I took my family there (wife, 2 kids, mother and aunt) for dinner. We're Chinese. The waiter asked if we wanted chopsticks, and my mother and aunt did. So he proceeded to take away our cloth napkins and fork/spoon and gave us chopsticks and PAPER napkins. We felt like second class citizens and will never go again. I would have said something (and I'm not gun shy), but not worth the risk of them spitting into our food .. which by the way was terrible, especially the dishes from the Chinese menu. A ROACH just crawled on my table. I have been coming to this place for the past year since I work down the block.. the food and experience here has always been great until now. I am writing this review while I am waiting for the check to pay. I can not believe this just happened! I am so disgusted. I know things happen and there are bugs everywhere and employees cant control absolutely everything but when your place of business has anything to do with food you have to be extremely anal about pest control. This place is just OK- I have had both better and worse. The sushi is pretty good for a Chinese restaurant; they will make you any roll for your individual taste. As for the flavor of the cooked items, the food is kind of bland. However, I do not expect much spice in my shrimp and snow peas, fried rice or lemon chicken, so I really can't comment on the stuff that is supposed to have some kick. I find the photos on this site a bit fishy since they look kind of staged and much better than you actually see in the restaurant. Just sayin'. I have already been to this place before but since I never reviewed it, I'm just going to make it short and simple. I went to this restaurant today with my family for dinner. We were seated immediately (we arrived pretty late so there wasn't much people). We ordered 5 entrees, for 6 people. They gave us pickled broccoli stem (I think) as an appetizer and I enjoyed it. It was a bit on the spicy side but very good. The flounder and seafood delight was amazing. Service was great, didn't have to wait long to recieve anything I asked for. I also would like to mention how we were one of the two groups that were still there past their closing time and they waited patiently for us to finish and leave whenever we wanted. Also one of the more cleaner chinese restaurants that I have been to. This restaurant is more of a dine in rather than a take-out. I always have good food from Golden Temple except for tonight. I ordered take out stuffed eggplant stuffed with shrimp. The minute I opened the container I smelled old seafood smell and it tasted like the shrimp was probably old. I got in the car and drove up with the smelly eggplant. I told the girl at the register what happened and she acted like I was trying to pull something over on her. She told me they make everything to order but I had to make her understand the issue was smelly shrimp which was probably old. She told me she had to talk to the manager and left with the stuffed eggplant. Finally my money was returned. Usually the stuffed eggplant is so delicious but tonight 2 hours later I still have a foul taste in my mouth. read more
