I go in with a issue with my car and i am immediately greeted by my name and he asks how i am doing. He genuinely cares. He remembers the conversations we spoke about previously and follows up. Its like going in and talking to a friend or family member. He always keep me informed on the progress of my repairs and follows up to make sure everything is working when the job is complete. I had purchased a a brand 2020 Ford Explorer. I was told it was never used or demo. I take the vehicle home to show to family and friends when there was a crack in the bumper that was covered up with putty and factory paint. You actually had to be close to see it. I had to talk to my sales man and a manager in order to get it fixed. They claim that no one had used the vehicle and that it was not a demo even though there was 250 miles on the vehicle. They claim it was parking lot damage and they had received the vehicle like that. But if you think about it why wasn't notice when they check over the vehicle before the customer takes it home. Gold Mill Ford did fix the problem after a week waiting for the part. I do have to say I'm not comfortable with my vehicle because I believe I'm going to have problems with it. As for the salesman and finance person they were great. They were understanding and willing to work with you on what you wanted. Word of advice. Make sure you check over the vehicle before signing all the papers. read more

I had called Golf Mill Ford looking for a specific trim on the 2010 Ford Escape. I discussed the car and my desired options with a salesperson named Eve. After two weeks of back and forth on the phone she claimed she had finally located two in her dealership's stock. I had called every dealer in the Chicago area looking for one and she was the only one that said she had it in stock. She even emailed the two car's stickers to me and assured me that they would be available to look at when I came in later that evening. Needless to say, the cars weren't there. Eve was out and some other salesman tried to show me another 'similar' car in order to get me to sit down and talk price. When I asked him directly if he had the specific cars in stock, he claimed he did but he had loaned them out to a Polish festival. Really? What he was doing was the typical bait and switch method that dealers use to get you to agree on a price of a car that they don't have then make you wait while they try to track one down or order it for you from the factory. That can take weeks or months and I didn't want to wait since I was renting a car at $30/day. I feel like Golf Mill Ford were shady throughout my entire experience and I would not recommend anyone choose to do business with them. They wasted my time and I am definitely not happy about it. read more

This review is for my 75 year old mother. She told her Ford Escape to their service dept 3 months ago to fix the brakes. They charged her $1,200. Now she has the exact same problem and the manager told her that it (probably the parts) was under warranty. They told her it was another $2,000 to fix the problem AGAIN!! I am a salesman. And I don't say this, meaning I chuck cell phone contracts, or gym memberships, I am a sale man, not a crook. I have no desire to deceive people, cause I believe good service and ethics keeps people coming back. Golf Mill Ford does not offer this. I understand car salesman are shady, it's the stereotype cause it's true, but all I was hoping for is that someone hoping to make money off me, would do their best to crook me a little better. Last year, I bought a car off of MARK GRUGONE. My credit isn't great, and he did make a deal happen. I will say that at first, he told me how much I didn't want that car, but after running my credit, and realizing it'd be all I could get, told me to test drive it, and then began raving about how great it was. Either way, he did help me out, and told me not to do a thing to the car, because he wanted me to bring it back a year later to trade it in for a better car. So, after a year of making payments on time, and anxiously looking forward to my new Explorer, I went in. I emailed MARK GRUGONE many times, as I wanted to be loyal, to set up an appointment. He told me he'd see me wednesday, so I drive the 30 miles, one way, to meet him, only to be told he always has Wednesdays off. I worked with a young guy, who said he worked for Nordstrom, and was a million dollar seller there. I will tell you, if you sold that amount of money, on Michugan Ave, in Chicago, art Nordstrom, you would not leave to take worse hours, and be at the bottom of the food chain selling cars. End if story, I was forced to test drive a car, that he knew I couldn't get. I made very specific demands as to what I could do, and if they couldn't do that for me, I'd be fine with it, but just didn't want to waste my time. He wasted my time. Mark Grugone has yet ti follow up with me, and I received multiple follow up emails from their supposed customer service team, acting like they cared about my experience. I emailed them back, and they have yet to respond. Buy a car somewhere else. Most are con artists, but these guys are really bad, and a bunch of crooks. read more

I do not like car salesman, not at all. I've always found them to be pushy, a little arrogant, and, only interested in their commission. I've always found the car buying process in-general to be utterly tedious and annoying. The process is still pretty tedious, but, our recent purchasing experience at Golf Mill Ford was incredibly pleasant. My review is really for our wonderful salesperson, Gabriel M. We decided to stop here first when we decided it was time for a new car, because we've had Ford in the past, and, used Golf Mill's service dept, and were happy with the experience. Our sales guy, Gabriel, helped us as soon as we arrived, which I'm thankful for, because some of the other salespeople were VERY..sales-y (there was a brief moment when I was alone in the showroom, and, about 3 different sales people honed in on me like vultures on a carcass). Gabriel was direct, friendly, knowledgeable, but what we really appreciated was that he listened to us. He listened to what we said we wanted and needed in a car, what we didn't need or want, he didn't try to push anything on us that was unnecessary, and, he stayed within our budget. We wound up getting a great car, at a truly fair price, and, best of all? NO HAGGLING!! There was no back and forth, no "I need to talk to my manager" or "We're going to take a loss on this." I absolutely cannot stand that nonsense and have no patience for it, and we got none of it with Gabriel. The process of buying a car still takes too damn long (we were there for 4+ hours), but, we really didn't mind at all at Golf Mill Ford. We love our new car (Ford Edge) and would be more than happy to recommend Gabriel to anyone in the market for a car. read more

I absolutely love my new Ford, but I wish I had bought it at another dealership. I did all of my research before getting here to test drive the car. I was ready to buy and knew exactly what I wanted, but was still subjected to the slimy, used-car dealer hard-pressure sales script. The whole experience was an insulting and painful Glenngarry Glen Ross flashback. I almost walked out twice, and would have if I'd had more time to go to another place. The worst part was, after I completed the sale, the Customer Relations Manager took me into his office to explain to me the follow-up survey that Ford would be doing, and how my answers would affect the salesman, who deserved the extra bonus money that a positive survey would give him, and that he, the Customer Relations Manager, was primarily interested in taking care of his staff. I will most certainly guess that everyone giving this Golf Mill Ford 5 stars are employees, employees' families or those paid to do it. This people will find creative ways to rip you off. They have no conscience and they don't care what pains the customers are going through. They will look at you in the eyes and lie to you and take every penny from you in the name of car service. About three years ago, I took my car to them for repair, only to be told that the engine has knocked. I was told that the cost of replacing the engine was about $4,000. Since I don't have much money, I ended up junking the car. Few months later, I received a letter from the junk company that they had only repair the car for $1,500. This shows that the engine was perfectly okay. Golf Mill Ford service department made me junked my car and has to spend more to purchase a new car, which I am still paying for. I don't know what I was thinking. Few months ago, I took my other car there for a quick repair, only to be quoted outrageously repair costs ($850) while looking at me eye-to-eye. When I took the car to another dealership, the quote was $350. Also, they messed up my car during diagnostics and made it worse than when I brought it in. This people definitely lack honesty, integrity, fairness, truthfulness, and conscience. I will NEVER, NEVER, do any kind of business with them again. John Colon has now lied to me twice to get me to come in. First time he guaranteed me that he would get me in a certain vehicle and a certain price. Not only did they not have the vehicle, but the prices was triple what he had told me. Second time was today. Told me that they were looking to buy my vehicle because it was on a list of vehicles in demand. I told him i wanted to know trade in value and straight buy back. Told me that they would appraise it when i came in. So i said ok ill give you another chance but dont waste my time. I get there, apparently the sales manager isnt there so they could not appraise my vehicle, and i ended up wasting 3 hrs of my day there. I am forever done with this place. They will just lie to get you in the door. Promises of things that arent even remotely possible. Josh was a nice guy. Only reason they even get one star. Tread carefully people. read more

It's a car dealer... there really isn't much to say. The salesmen are all slimy snakes that pounce on you like flies on shit the minute you pull in the lot. They try to scam you into the special undercoating and extended warranties and other nonsense. They tell you you MUST fill out the Ford survey with all perfect scores. You get screwed no matter what you buy or what financing options you choose. Blah.. they are all the same. As for the service department... I attempted to go there for a free oil change last year but was expected to wait almost 4 hours. I would rather pay $30 at Jiffy Lube and be out in 10 minutes. However last week my 2009 Focus broke down while I was driving to work. Just choked and died and wasn't getting any gas... I coasted off the highway into some parking lot. The roadside assistance was awesome and the tow truck was there within 30 minutes, even though I was out in BFE. He even dropped me off at work! Well, Golf Mill Ford got my car and could not figure out the problem... the car was fine. Even though specific dashboard lights came on, they could not duplicate the issue and the car's computer held no memory of the event. So they gave the car back to me. Two days later I was driving and the car crapped out again... same problem...this time right in front of Golf Mill Ford!!!! So I was able to get it into their lot and they had it for another 2 days. This time they got a code from the computer and it turned out to be the throttle body. They replaced it and the car was fine. The next day I'm driving for less than 2 minutes, and the car broke down again right in the middle of a busy intersection. This time the whole car just died.. no power, nothing. It started up again and was fine after that, but I was worried it would happen again. So once again I brought it in and after extensive testing, they still couldn't figure out a problem and AGAIN, the computer held no memory of the event. However this time when they hooked it up to the computer, it did some sort of update. So they were hoping that the computer update would solve all the problems... So far (knock on wood) it's been fine. So all in all I spent a week doing nothing but driving up and down Milwaukee Ave being told there's nothing wrong with my car and it was a real pain in the ass. However, Rick Fish was super cool and just as frustrated as I was because they couldn't figure out this weird, intermittent problem. He was pretty frazzled because the place was super busy and everybody kept coming to him asking him questions. They gave me a free oil change but also used up almost an entire tank of gas driving my car around testing it... :-( read more

After four trips here they finally serviced the car! Because they refuse to allow you to reserve appointments for service I didn't get my car looked at until the third visit. Seems like most of the workers don't really know what's going on, nor do they care if you need your car back by a certain time. After speaking with a manager they set me up with a loaner while they took my car for the evening. Getting them to look at and fix the car was a nightmare that involved too much waiting and too many trips to their location! After posting original review a member of customer service reached out to me to try and resolve the issue of me being charged for something I knew already and waiting for hours. I commend them for this. But here's where it gets shady. When I spoke with them they offered to refund my money after I took down the original post stating my original problem. Having a bad experience previously I told them that I would only take the post down after I was refunded. He said that it wasn't in his power and would have to ask someone else ad would give me a call back. I never heard anything back for my refund so I am sharing my experience of golf mill ford trying to buy off bad reviews. I went in for an oil change. Came out with sensors lit on dashboard. Instead of fixing it they said they couldn't because it was a Chrysler even though I bought the car from them. So I take the car to Chrysler and they charge me 135.00 just to tell me I need a new tire. Ford YOU triggered that sensor and you could of easily told me that instead you cost me time and a waste of 135.00 for a sensor u triggered. BTW when I called Ford service their response was "well we would of charged you 143.00 dollars" In the last 3 years I have bought 2 cars from you so you'd think you'd get some quality customer service instead I got the run around and ripped off due to your negligence! They didnt have me sign papers they were suppose to and lied to me until they could never show them to prove they had them. Eventually fixed the problem.... after lying and being rude. Before you drive into the dealership little courtesies like having waiting salespersons guide you to parking spots abound. Don't let the pleasantries fool you! Before you write a check look for a rip off scheme called VIN etch. It's a $299 insurance policy that involves etching the VIN numbers into the vehicle glass to aid in theft recovery. Unless you ae buying a car that is very high up the list of "likely to be stolen," you probably will never be in this situation. About a week after I had the car dropped at my house (like I said, cheap services abound), I called to inquire about a second key. My salesman informed me that the policy of the dealership is to NOT provide a second key on a used car sale. You cannot just have one of these "chipped" keys mad at Home Depot. They require a dealership and around $170. So they won't deliver the extra key that belongs with the car and you have to spend an additional $170 on it. The little courtesies aren't worth the price of the rip-offs! read more

We bought the Ford Edge from Tommy at Golf Mill Ford, and could not be happier (on Feb. 15th of this year). He really went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with the car, follow-up calls, etc., and was really pleasant and even fun to deal with. Tommy made the whole stressful experience of buying a car a lot easier, and did not give off that sleazy used-car salesman vibe that I have encountered in the past. If we ever need service in the future, I would hope that this rating stays the same (and if we don't ever need to bring the Edge in for service in the next 5 years, that would be ideal). I'm about to do the impossible: complain about something I got for free. We bought a car here (not the problem; it's a great car and we got a good deal). To try to woo us into their service department, they then offered us 3 free oil changes. My most recent one took...wait for it....TWO AND A HALF HOURS!!! OK, I get that it's free and that you're busy. But if you're THAT busy where it will take THAT long, please tell me and I will come back another day! It was the complete ruination of anything else I'd hoped to do that day. Not worth it. I'd rather pay for Jiffy Lube or someone to get it done in a quarter of the time than have Golf Mill's guys do it for free and take an eternity. Now on the "not free" end of things, I also went for a tire repair here and they told me they'd have to replace my tire for $190 because it was irreparably damaged. Yet somehow, Speedline managed to repair it for $25 and it's driving fine months later. Shady business, that. So between taking a ludicrous amount of time to change oil and the lying to get more money, I don't think I'll be returning to their service department. read more

Okay, we didn't end up buying a car from the dealer today in part because of our experience. If they have the best price anywhere, put up with it. Otherwise, I'd shop elsewhere. Visited on a busy Saturday afternoon but the dealer did an adequate job at managing the crowd. The less than positive experience was dealing with salespeople who had the quintessential car dealer demeanor - didn't really no much about the vehicle, kept disappearing to check on something without any explanation and showed moderate disinterest in speaking with us when we asked to look at a vehicle with different options than were brought out (show a little effort, please!). Where I really got turned off is when I was told that I was wrong on the model that I had previously seen at another dealer online it could not possibly have what I thought it did - doesn't really matter who was right but a salesperson will never close a deal when s/he tells the customer that he couldn't possibly be right and I'll go pull the book to prove your wrong......(checked on my phone while there and I was right). Any way, came home, washed off and have now put a deposit down at another dealer. Just over the phone, got a better deal and, more importantly, a better experience. read more

Bought a car from this dealer early this year. I am glad that Ford have made improvements on their quality but i think they need to step it up more and work on the dealership. This dealership does not care about the customers after selling you the car. they were helpfull when trying to sell a car to you but once its sold, you are no longer important for them, not even a few minutes of their time on the phone. Sales guys make empty promises to get your business, so if they promise you something make sure it is written on a legal document. Dont even try to talk to the sales manager because they will just tell you they cant do anything about what their sales guys promise customers. Go buy FORD but not from this dealership! I reluctantly returned to Golf Mill Ford today to have a trailer hitch and roof rack installed as it was included in the price of the car. I was hoping after having had my GPS stolen from this location last week that I wouldn't have any problems today. They did install the roof rack and trailer hitch although the rubber cap was missing from the trailer hitch and they assured me they would send me one by mail. When I got home and was taking my packages out of the car I noticed one of the floor mats is now missing. I guess this car dealer is okay if you don't mind having all your stuff stolen read more
